I finally got to 2 million Neopoints on Neopets now. Yeah, this is from collecting interest every day pretty much. :)
MJ, don't know if you are reading, but got your letter! Happiness!
I remember why I don't like socializing.... it's because it tires me out. blah.

I feel really bad when someone recognizes me, and I have no idea who they are. Or I might vaguely remember where I know them from but have no idea why they might remember me. A couple of days ago, there was a poster session from people's research projects. I was looking at a poster that had an interesting subject when the student walks over and addresses me by name and starts talking to me. If not for the fact that his name was on the poster, I wouldn't have had a clue who he was. (I eventually would have guessed though that he was one of the e-board members of an org that I was interested in.)
I think my memory has gone so downhill since high school when I could memorize things like that.

I watched a couple of episodes of Tenipuri a couple of days ago. The weird thing is, the show is not really that great anymore (except for some GREAT episodes). There are lots of inconsistencies and the art is pretty choppy sometimes. BUT it's fun to watch because I could just imagine what the fangirls' reactions will be. Things that aren't that bad on their own suddenly take on a whole new meaning when you put it in the fangirl's perspective.
School has been not so bad so far, but anatomy sounds scary.
I am spending way too much time online these days. I never abused my computer like this before.... leaving it on 12+ hrs a day.... not good for laptops, but the chip's actually more for desktops, so I guess it isn't that bad. However, my wrist's taking a beating.... I'm just babbling to myself.

Dream Live songs, Dream Live songs!
Thoughts - I REALLY don't like Endo's voice for Ryoma. I don't know, I like Ryoma to sound like he hasn't gone through puberty, thank you very much.
A lot of the singing seemed.... off. Not that that is a problem with Tenimyu, since the standard isn't exactly high for that. (You know I'm only saying this because I really don't care how badly they sing!)
I want to see this. REALLY badly.

Okay, I usually reserve Tenimyu fangirling for the LJ, but since I have already posted there today, I'm going to post here instead.
I've been neglectful in my fangirling madness over Tenimyu 3 and didn't remember about those interviews that MMV put up in their report section! So today I go check, and they had put up little clips of the Saint Rudolph boys as well as ones for Ookuchi (new Tezuka) and Kitamura (new Taka-san)! They are SHORT, maybe 30 seconds or less each, but still worth watching.
Then, I went back and watched the older ones with (who else?) Moriyama Eiji and Kimeru. I also watched one of Tuti too. Eiji-san is too adorable. I had forgotten how cheesy he was!! Kimeru is as cute as he always is. :) :) :)
Yeah, this is how bad my procrastination streak has been lately, but really, I do love those Tenimyu guys!

I REALLY like Wonderful Days sung bu Pulltab to Can, the Tenipuri group made up of rivals - Atobe, Kirihara, Sanada, Sengoku, Oshitari, Kamio, and Shinji. <3 The song is so cute, and the Engrish is interesting.
First post here with my new computer! After a little fidgeting around with the cable and router (I think I've got it figured out now!), it is finally able to connect and gives me great speed. The computer is not bad, but there are some things that can prove to be annoying. First off, there is no port for me to plug in my mouse. I have to get a USB mouse. Second thing, the control key is in a slight different place than it was on my old computer, so I keep hitting the Fn key instead. Third, the all-important delete key is now at the bottom of the keyboard instead of up at the top. Last thing, the delete key is next to the insert key, which controls that annoying overwrite function.
But I don't have Office installed on this computer, so it doesn't matter anyway.
I like this thing, but I like my old comp too. I will be alternating between them probably.

Spoiler for the Sanada Echizen match.
Echizen wins 7-5. How is that possible??????? Dude. He's beaten everyone except Tezuka.
Yay, update on MMV! Catalog page - It's an advertisement for the Dream Live DVD and CD, which come out 9/1. The CD cover amuses me so. For some reason, I think it would complement the Cap to Bin Tonde! Mawatte! Mata Raishuu! CD cover. It would have been even more amusing if the suits were blue (think of the pictures from the Dream Live), and Ryoma's hat is just odd. The link on the Catalog page brought me to Tenipuri's page on neic, so I looked at the Wonderful Days cd cover. Apparently, Atobe is the pulltab, and Kirihara, Shinji, Sengoku, Kamio, and Oshitari make up the can. :D Sanada is just off to the side.
*pnish* seems to be scheduled for an appearance at SunStreet Kameido for 9/25. *pnish* something or other vol. 2. Busy, busy. Have taken to checking Nagayan's diary because he posts pictures. :) :) :)
Have decided, I don't like grocery shopping or cooking for myself. I mean, the food I've been making tastes fairly decent, but ugh, all the decisions I have to make. So not a good decision maker.
I've discovered that I need no-impact exercise. The ellipticals don't hurt me, but treadmills do. I should make exercising a habit instead of a chore...

Long time no update. Am moved into school now. Kinda getting settled in. School starts tomorrow, and last week was orientation.
I don't like that my pseudo-roommate installed MSN and Yahoo messengers on my computer. My computer is slow enough as it is without two other programs trying to load when I start up. She didn't even ask if she could install the programs, and at the very least, she could have told me after she installed them. Grrr.
I am very protective of my computer.
In case you didn't know, my roommate lent his room out to a new student in his department because her classes start tomorrow, but she can't get housing until the 20th. So she's been living here since Wednesday.

Evil bastards Kaiser!!!!!!!!!! So, if you read my blog around this time last year, you'd know that I had a major pain in the ass with Kaiser about my medical records and them not sending it to where it had to go. Today, for registration, I had to go check out whether I was in compliance with everything, and Kaiser completely f*cked up my health forms. I swear, the doctor didn't even read at my records before filling out the form.
I have had chicken pox, but they didn't put it on the form, so I had to get blood drawn for that. They only recorded one of the dates for my three hepB vaccines (one shot gives you, if I remember correctly, around 30-percent chance of immunity). They didn't record my first shot of MMR, which I had somewhere else, but it was supposed to be in my records. So I had to get a MMR vaccine, even though I had received my second one just last year. They freakin' wrote that my last PPD (TB test) was negative!!!!!! WTF??!?! You stupid, stupid hospital. I had to get 2 chest x-rays and had to take a pill everyday for nine months, all because of a positive PPD. It was just last year that I went on that medicine! WHAT THE HELL????
In case you're wondering, hospitals require two negative PPD's before they let you start. They thought that they would have to do 2 PPD's on me before Monday (which ain't going to work since I would have come back positive anyway). Freaking idiots. I mean, in my records, there should be two sets of chest x-rays. I mean, why the f*ck would I have gotten those if I didn't have a positive reading on my PPD that same day???? Goddamn it.
I'm tired and irritable. Kaiser is stupid.

I love Tenimyu! I love people who go to Tenimyu and write reports. I am so jealous that they get to go, yet so happy for them... I think I might cry tears of joy if I ever get to see the show. Yeah, I'm nuts. You all knew that.
Ran a lot of errands today. When I was in Chinatown, I went into this place to get some food. At the counter, this lady comes up to me and talks about how she can't believe the food is. Err.... ooooookkkaaaaaayyyyy. Yes the food is good, that's why I'm buying it?
Also, I think I might have seen Poundcakes's friend (Davis dude) while I was there. I think I also saw my uncle.... or heard him behind me.

I went to the Partners reunion today, and as I guessed, I was the only one from my class as well as the oldest alum to attend. I have made up my mind not to go next year, because well, the type of advice I can give is not relevant to the current students. All of them want to know about high school, and me, well, even college is a thing of the past.
I did, however, speak with a former student of mine who will be starting Yale next fall. I'm so proud. :) Anyway, she asked for advice for college, and I told her that seniors hate first years who take on way too much and can't handle it. hehehe I also said that first years shouldn't act like they know everything.
I also gave her constructive info like "time management skills are absolutely important" and "people skills are necessary" too.
Yeah, so haven't updated here with an original post in a while. Been lazy not updating since nothing's going on in my life. Just doing the housing search everyday....
Nephew seems to like me a little better than he did a month ago. He still prefers my sister (his mother), father, brother, and mother over me, but at least now he will play with me when he forgets about them. He's very easily scared I realized. Everytime he hears a siren or car alarm, he starts saying "pah pah" which translated to "scared scared" and pats his stomach.... he's supposed to pat his chest.
Reunion for the summer program I used to do is next week. I can't believe that I started the program in 1994... I love it, but a part of me does not want to go. Last year was pretty awkward, with only 3 or 4 people that I knew showing up. Only 1 other person from my class was there, and I don't know if he'll come this year. It makes me feel old, and I haven't forgotten that kid who asked me if I was in the program 15 years ago (*grumble grumble*)...
Okay, this will be long and not exactly interesting, so it's broken up into parts. Lots of boring details, and order may or may not be accurate.....
Flying to MJ's - Can I just say that self check-in is awesome? Bypassed the line at the counter and was at the gate within 20 minutes of getting to the airport. I like JetBlue... getting your choice of snacks (including Terra chips!) is nice, and the flight attendants ARE friendly.
Breakfast with MJ & family - I really do eat more than that normally, and no, I am not trying to lose weight by not eating much. (Doesn't work for me anyway. I have to exercise to lose weight. *shudder* )
I can't remember the time between Costco and meeting with ndless_mike, but I suspect it had something to do with the Internet.
Met with ndless_miketo go to volunteer's meeting for AX, but got there pretty late because of traffic. Missed the meeting, but the staff told us to register first and then go back to get volunteer stuff. Got to Registration and waited in the first very long line of the con. Staff people kept telling us differently on where to line up, and finally, we (or at least I did) got annoyed with the dis-organization enough to make a decision, which was to get help from fruitypoundcake's friend and not do volunteering.
Went to IHOP after the thing about AX. I think it was the first time I've been to IHOP....
Got to Anaheim, met with Andy, who helped us bypass the line and did our registration. Then we went to line second very long line, which was for the Exhibit room, ie, dealer's room. Waited, saw cosplayers, waited, picked up AMV showing tickets, and waited some more. Finally got in and walked around a bit. Lots of Gundam merchandise, some PoT, a little Furuba, Hellsing.
Went to cosplay gatherings for PoT, Hellsing, FMA, and saw some others. Not many PoT ones I think. Many Alucards and Andersons. A few Rips, but not many Integrals. Lots of military for FMA, some Ed's, even an Al with a stuffed cat.
Can't remember if we did anything else....
Decided not to go back to AX because none of the things seem particularly interesting. Watched PoT instead... the mountain training episodes (PoT is such crack!) and then 140 which was just mind-blowing in its crackheadedness. Wow. So much wrongness. Pull tab and can was amusing, but I did not recognize Shinji and Kamio's voices AT ALL. sheesh.
After going to church with MJ, we went to the con for Seki's panel. First of all, let me just explain to MJ why I was laughing at the translation of the service. The guy who did the English translation had the most amusing intonations. It was like one of those TV services you can see on TV at 8am Sundays... It was just so different from the pastor who was giving the service.
Okay, that said. Got there, went to exhibit hall and looked at more stuff. Then thought we would go to Seki's event early. I think we got there at least an hour before it started, but there were probably already 100 people in line. So, this was the third very long line, but we were lucky. Those who came even later had to sit outside because the line stretched 200 feet easily. While we were in line, people gave out cards for questions for Seki.
Seki panel - First of all, Seki's hair was bleached.... He was asked if he liked cats, and he answers that he is allergic to them. Also, he played a cat recently, and that is why his hair was bleached. One lady picked questions and asked them; another person translated. One of the questions had him do a line as Chichiri, which was awesome. At this point, MJ and I were like "We should have asked him to do the Gravitation line!" There were many "of all the characters you've done..." questions, some very typical. Some were more interesting than others. I think some were designed by fangirls to get him to answer in a certain way, but he didn't. One of the questions was what was his favorite pairing, which the lady picking the question decided wasn't appropriate so she asked the translator to ask which characters had the best interaction. I forget his answer, but I didn't think it was that appropriate for her to censor the question. I mean, for goodness' sake, he's done boy love dramas. I don't think he'll be squicked by a simple question like that.... besides, pairing is not necessarily shounen ai, so what was wrong with the question??? (Though it was obviously asked by fangirls because Eiri was yelled out quite a while times.)
Lots of random yelling during the panel. Some girls behind us kept yelling "daisuki!" I think one person yelled that she wanted to marry him, because he then said he wanted to marry everyone. The panel ran over, and when it ended, we were told that we would not be allowed to leave until Seki left for security purposes. Fine, but what pissed me off was that the question lady told these people who stood up to give Seki a standing ovation to sit down because she thought they were trying to leave. Maybe I'm wrong and they were trying to leave, but I didn't like the lady's actions very much.
Got in the fourth very long line for Seki's autograph after the panel. The best part about it was that the way the line snaked, only a curtain separated part of the line from Seki at some point. So many people, including me, peeked through the curtains. Seriously though, his hair was so bright, I saw it through the curtains. We were allowed to take pictures of him while he signs, but we were not allowed to ask him to pose. I feel bad taking a picture of this top of his head....
Looked at more cosplayers (Gravitation), got promo stuff from exhibit hall. Went to Gonzo panel.
Gonzo, for those who aren't familiar, did Hellsing, which is why I was interested. They also did Full Metal Panic, Vandread, Last Exile, and many others. For the most part, they talked about Last Exile. Then fans asked questions. Interesting stuff. The last part was the Jakenpon tournament, which was hilarious because apparently both MJ and I suck at it. Basically, dude from Gonzo stood at the front and played against the audience. They gave prizes to those who won several rounds. Neither of us made it past the 1st round.....
We watched a live action movie called Onmyoji (and a gift for anyone who can tell me WHY I thought it was so familiar sounding, even though I had never seen it before??!?). The movie was hilarious though.... not so much for quality, but for it's cheesiness. "You're the only one I can't bear to lose right now!" main character dude says to not so main character dude. Fun stuff.
Back to exhibit hall to look at more stuff. They were giving away free t-shirts, and there was a mob of people who were trying to get the free stuff. It was actually quite scary....
Went to Whose Line is it Anime? where most of the jokes were beyond me. I personally don't particularly like the game "Good news, bad news". A lot of the anime they used I just don't know. All I remember is from Scenes from a Cabbit (sp??) for "Anime charity endorsements: Hi, this is Alucard for the Red Cross.
We also looked at the candy making guy because the candy was just that cool.
We left after that and went to Little Tokyo in LA. As we left, some guy on the street was giving out CDs with AMVs. Have to say, they are pretty nice, but were either too long or too short. Went to the Kinokuniya, which was kinda tiny. Didn't find what I wanted (TopStage and Hyper Popbeat hehehe), but saw books for Shinsengumi! I didn't realize the show was that marketable.
See.... long and boring. fugusabaku has pictures up, so go check them out
