Bleh, still sick.

It is evil when the Tenipuri Musical songs suddenly pop into my head when other people are around. They make me want to laugh, and people seem to think bursting into laughter with no apparent reason is weird. It's not my fault you can't see what's going on inside my head. :P

I feel like ranting about this, but it doesn't really affect anyone here other than you and maybe you in the future.
This recall business is complete bullshit. (For those of you who may not know, there will be an election to see if California's governor will be recalled.) As if politics today weren't already a circus, we got this multi-million dollar recall election coming up where two possible candidates are Arnold Schwarzennegger (actually, he's not just "possible", he's confirmed) and Larry Flynt (guy behind the "Hustler" magazines).
I've been hearing about it a lot on TV and trying to figure out what exactly was the rationale behind the recall drive. Everything I've heard hasn't added up. Mostly it's a Republican led effort to oust Davis from office.
The recall effort was mainly funded by one guy, who's a Republican who was looking to replace Davis in Sacramento. The man spent about a million $$ of his own money to try to get Davis out of office so he could get the job himself. Haha, sucks for you that Arnold decided to run. Now he's dropped out of the race since the Republicans are pretty much betting on Arnold.
The reasons that I've heard for replacing Davis are that he mismanaged the power crisis, that he lied about the financial situation of the state, and that it's his fault for the state of the economy today.
Response from me (who probably knows too little of politics, but who cares, it's my rant):
If those are the reasons for the recall, I think we need to start a recall drive on Bush. Bush and his administration protected the companies that gouged Californians. He refused to step in and help CA at all during the power crisis.
At least Gray Davis's lies (if they can even prove he's made any) hasn't started a war.
The state of the economy is due to, in no small part, the Bush admin as well as Davis. When people talk about Bush and the country's economy, I keep hearing that it's "a natural cycle", that it wasn't Bush's fault. But apparently, in California, Davis can control this natural cycle and throw the state into financial shambles.
The Republicans refused to approve any taxes, so in order to ease the deficit, lots of cuts were made. This, in their argument, is Davis's fault. Why? I don't know.
Yes, I'm a democrat, but that's not the only reason I'm blaming the Republicans. I've been trying to understand this whole mess, but it just doesn't make sense.
The money that will be spent on the recall election (60+ million dollars, last I heard) could be so much better spent elsewhere.

I don't want Arnold Schwarzenegger as the governor of my state. :-6

Darn it, I was hoping to avoid it but I'm sick. boo. Every time my nephew gets sick, I get sick. Yesterday night was the first stage: post-nasal drip and insomnia. Today is sore throat and blowing my nose until it goes raw. Hopefully it will be gone by tomorrow. I hope I hope I hope.

The Cap to Bins song at the end of TeniPuri Radio #19 is so very cute and oh-so-strange. Also want to hear the opening song too. The rest of the show was not so interesting though, since I couldn't understand what they were saying. Eiji, however, sounded adorable as usual.

I suck. I'm sure one of my supplementals asked me what field of medicine I was interested in, but I can't seem to find which school it was that asked me. I KNOW I didn't write anything for that question, but I've already submitted four of my supps... I'm getting quite obsessed over this.

Second post of the day, because I decided I needed to work on more apps. However, before I do that, I need to procrastinate.

Good luck Tam-Linh with the presentation!!!

Gloria, hehehe on the cacti. I kill cacti by watering too much (I think).
Yup, genetics does count... which means I may change from comp. anat. to genetics this semester... scary thought.
Eiji is very cute. I really love his voice.
Changed my mind on Jousei... I'll have to see the cute parts.

Random thought: If PoT were licensed and dubbed into English, what language would Taka-san yell in in his burning mode????

Nothing rots your brain quite like filling out online applications. I hate schools who ask you to "Please describe your interest in this school". Bleh. You've suddenly made me lost interest... I'm almost at the point of writing one generic response and just changing the name of the school for each app.

Still listening to Tenipuri musical. Very fun. At least I'm not doing the fangirling thing now since I've regained some of the higher brain functions I lost yesterday.
I think my favorite song in there so far is the burning song. It's so funny... and I actually recognize the English parts. I also really liked Ore wa Momo-chan. Moriyama Eiji actually really sounded like Momo when he told the first-years to call him Momo-chan.
I think I have to hunt down one of our Japanese speakers and make them translate the last bit of the Kikumaru vs. Fuji song. I want to know what Inui said to make the audience crack up.
Finally, I wish I knew which voice belonged to which character... but if the person who sings after they call out "Tezuka" in the third song IS Tezuka, then he sounds very different from anime Tezuka. I like the deep voice better.

Tam-Linh, if you want more Oishi cuteness, rewatch episode 56 (Hyoutei presses near). It's the pregnant woman one. He's SOOOOOO cute in that one. I *heart* Oishi.
Oh yeah, because I'm too lazy to look it up myself, what are the cell/molecular bio courses you can take at W? One of the schools I'm applying to requires a cell Bio course in addition to 2 general bio courses, but I think bio 110 doesn't count. Boo. I don't want more bio.

Hmmm, I didn't realize that there were other triples in Stone-D.
Anyway, on the PoT 100 thingy, we can cackle about the answers together. >:D By the way, "aesthetically pleasing" was something Laura told me... I think I've moved beyond that into "Fuji, tease Tezuka mercilessly and Tezuka, just try to resist".

On behalf of Chinese people, I would like to say we do have magical powers that no one else have. :P

If you know me, you'd know that I'm completely obsessing over the

TeniPuri Musical!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woohoo!!!! Jen has uploaded the entire TeniPuri Musical CD!!!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!! So of course, that means I have been downloading like crazy. I still have several songs to go and I've already been online for like 3 hours now....

I swear it's nuts. I, of course, have no idea what they're singing, but hey, who cares?? I keep cracking up because it's so... I don't even know the words to describe it. heheheheeeee
Oh my goodness, Taka's burning song is

HILARIOUS!!!
"I am super regular! Are you my challenger? I'm sorry! I'm very, very excited!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Must stop to breath now.

Of course, that's not the only thing I've been doing. I got one more supplemental out, so now I have maybe 4 or 5 more to go? Boo.

Yes, PoT fandom is insane. Like I said, it's an addiction, really.
But that fic was really funny.

I know I've said it before, but I'm saying it again. You and I have spent too much time together. A WHOLE lot of your answers were the same as mine... and I know you really feel that way too.

Tam-chan, I actually meant we'll stalk you, but if you're talking about the triple I'm thinking of, I'm completely jealous. Sa-chan, Gloria, and I tried for one of those triples but didn't get them. They're gorgeous. (Unless they took a double and turned it into a triple, but I doubt you could do that with the rooms in Stone-D.)

Okay, going back to listen to the songs some more... hehehheeeeee

I think you guys have probably seen this, but the newest PoT merchandise is PRETTY. Whoooo...
Tezuka, I knew you'd look nice in something non-lavender. You should dress like that more often. You look pretty.
I wonder if vests are going in style in Japan, because, like Fuji, Yuki was also in a vest in a recent chapter of Fruits Basket. Maybe it's just with the really bish-y (ie, feminine-looking ones). They both look so preppy.
Fuji's clothes in the card look better, but everyone else look better in the pencil board thingies. in the cards, Momo looks, um, kinda, um, weird. And is it just me, or is Ryoma really disproportioned in the card? I mean, look at those little chicken legs!
Mizuki actually looks pretty good there.... considering he's wearing one of Tezuka's faded hand-me-down shirts. hehehe >:D At least it's not that shirt.
I think Fudomine got the raw end of the whole deal and got stuck with the worse clothes. (I like their school uniform though.) Salmon pink (or is that peach?) for Tachibana?!? And I thought lavender was unbecoming of a buchou. Atobe definitely wins for best fashion sense among the captains.

I really hate how the PoT songs burrow themselves into my brain only to resurface at completely inappropriate times. Today "Cross with You" played in my head over and over again. Last week, it was "Blood" and Fuji's songs. The problem's not with the songs; I love the songs. I just wish I'd stop thinking of them at random time. Especially Crafty because it actually makes me cringe.

Whoa, apparently Keigo's getting his own full CD like Ryoma and Fuji did. Not bad... Cross With You was really good. Another album full of songs for me to get stuck in my head!

Tam-Linh, I will DEFINITELY be visiting you LOTS when we get back. hehehe I can't imagine how sick of me you'll be by October. You say you're going to be an Ask-Me?
Where's your sister housed anyway?

And you will help me stalk her. Thanks for translating!

And yes, how and where have you lately?

Okay, just wanted to gush about this a little. My local Asian TV channel shows Japanese shows every week. I've been following this one called Kochira Hon Ikegami Sho for several weeks now. It is so cute. It's about a police station where the chief seems like a cute (of the "aww, cute naive little boy" variety) ditz, but really isn't. The characters are funny. I kept thinking I was watching a live version of "the date episode" of PoT since one of the characters thought that his boss was having an affair with one of his colleagues, except the viewers knew it wasn't true since the colleague is dating the boss's boss, etc, etc. The two young female officers seem to like to flirt with the two young male officers; both of whom seem to be pretty oblivious. It's such a cute series. :)

Look at the things Inui's throwing into the pot.
You can see his ingredients are (among other things) a voodoo doll and a pair of boys underwear. Yeah, I think Inui's really the lechiest of all the Seigaku boys. Even Fuji has a sweatdrop.
It really begs the question: Just exactly whose underpants are those? *cackle*

I have just a little too much time on my hands this summer. You must be pretty bored too to be here. Anyway, this is a way for me to stave off boredom-induced comas until I find something better to do. Other things I'm doing: watching too much TV, rewatching old episodes of PoT.

Currently obsessed with:

Fruits Basket
