Most of it is subbed, yes, but Dead or Alive wasn't, which is why I think I misunderstood it. Probably, the woman actually had a 3rd degree burn since she didn't seem to be in too much pain from the burn and otherwise, going to the hospital seems like too much work.
Figured out what Chris wants. The equations program has a feature that will do the formatting, but it won't go back and fix the existing equations. So, instead of doing it the way I've been doing it, I have to go back and do a lot of copying and pasting. Thanks for the suggestions though!
Yes, the fandom has been rather bleh lately. I think one of the reasons I got so hooked on PoT was that there were so many fun things to see from fans. Now a lot of people are talking about how sick they are of the fandom, etc, etc. I feel like a lot of it comes from people who don't like that other people are fangirling over things they don't like (ZukaFuji is probably THE most hated and at the same time, most popular pairing out there). It's weird to me that there are people who won't like something just because a lot of other people like that same thing. It's amazing how petty it could get. Newbies are annoying sometimes, but fresh blood is fun sometimes. New art, new fics, new perspectives. It would be so boring to see the same people with the same things all the time.
Anyway, I'm still amazed at the fandom for their willingness to share and their absolutely astounding wrongness. I can't believe that I probably have around a gig's worth of Tenipuri-related stuff, and that's not including all the anime episodes.

Okay, so when I'm home, I watch a lot of television. Those of you who read this thing in the summer know that a lot of it is Japanese television. Given that that comes on on Saturdays, here's a little entry on what I watched last night:
The first was a program called Project X, which was a documentary on Sony and how it came to be. It was pretty interesting. It didn't cross my mind that the name Sony was actually derived from the Latin word for sound (sonus). Also, they had this corny story about how the guy who set out to sell the first Sony product in Germany. In the beginning when no one would buy a Japanese product because they were inferior quality, he would go into cafes, ask for a Sony, and got puzzled looks. The story was that he wanted the waiter to respond "Sony? Isn't that a radio?" In the end, he finally got the answer he was looking for and I think you're supposed to get warm fuzzy feelings in your heart.
Okay. Commercial for Kochira Hon Ikegami Sho! They're showing the next season! I'm sad though, because unless this season's three episodes long, I'm not going to get to finish it.
Last (there were a couple of shows in between that I'm not talking about) was a show called SOS Dead or Alive. This one cracked me up! The bad thing was that it had not subtitles, so I am guessing about what happens based on the kanji and the clips. Basically, it's a game show type thing where they show you a scenario and gives you a couple of choices. If you choose wrong, the person ends up dead. eg, a woman is trapped in a burning building. I think she is on the 5th floor, and the fire is one the 3rd floor. She opens up her purse and finds a handkerchief and a bottle of water inside a plastic grocery bag. The guest has to guess what she should do to escape alive. The other scenario I saw was that a woman gets a burn on her arm from sleeping on a heated mat. It looks like a 1st or 2nd degree burn. Should she wash it off with water, apply aloe to it, or go to the hospital?
Sad to say, I would have died in both cases. Though seriously, dying from the burn was a bit exaggerated.

Sleuth: to find the room of the murder, you have to do a "look at floor". Occasionally, the guests will be staring at the floor when you walk into the room. If you examine the floor or look at the floor, you might see bloodstains. I finally beat the games several times, but the best I could do was 173 moves.
Chris wants the equations currently in the document to be numbered. I wanted to know which ones he wanted numbered and he wanted me to find a way to have Word automatically number all the equations. I don't think there's a way to do this automatically (and even if there were, my problem is that sometimes he put multiple equations together as one object, so even if Word can do it automatically, it'll number those equations as though they were one.
The other thing he wants is to have the equations centered with the equation numbers right-justified. I put them in tables, which I guess he doesn't like? I'm really not sure why. Anyway, after reading his email, I went to search on this a little, and on http://research.microsoft.com the way I did it was the only work-around they listed.
There are more things he wants, but they're more doable, I think.

Read a report of what happens in the Fudomine musical...... I want to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great year, everyone!
PS_ Anyone with wonder Microsoft Word skills out there want to help me? Chris wants the equations numbered and wants a way for Word to number all the equations currently in the document automatically. I don't think there's a way to do it, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
He also wants it formatted a certain way and didn't like the way I did it, but after a little research, it seems like that's the only work-around because Word is stupid and won't let you do it any other way, so too bad. He needs to compromise if he wants it to look a certain way. (Me venting a little bit, because if there were an easier way to do it, I probably would have done it that easier way, no?)

Forgot this: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! Hope you feel better too (your gums stuff). I am feeling better, just in that let's-hack-out-a-lung stage.
So, seeing youtwo's results, I took the tests too. Here are my own:
Yeah... so I'm more detached than I am a perfectionist. Not surprising, given that sometimes I'm just too lazy to do something perfectly. I'm also anxious and aggressive. No, I don't believe people are inherently good. And am I messy?
Seems like I am very similar to X (I don't think I have seen Happy Together....)
I'm a schzoid! "Schizoid Personality Disorder - individual generally detached from social relationships, and shows a narrow range of emotional expression in various social settings." So both tests say I am detached, obsessive-compulsive, and avoidant. I don't think I needed a test to tell me that.

I just found out that Anita Mui, my favorite female singer (possibly my favorite singer period), died yesterday. She had announced around September that she had cervical cancer. Apparently she died of complications from the cancer. She was 40 years old.
This makes me really sad.... 2003 has not been a good year for people who like HK pop from the 80's and 90's. In April, Leslie Cheung (Kwok-Wing) commits suicide. Now Anita Mui dies from cancer just a few days before New Year's. Yes that's only two people, but they were HUGE. If you look at the #1 songs (there are maybe less than 15/year) in HK around that time, Anita Mui's songs made up about 10 of the songs on those lists for several years.
Sad, sad day. :( :( :(
My nephew caught my flu and had to go to the hospital. I blame my mother who kept trying to make me take care of him while I was sick.

So yeah, am feeling weird. Am exhausted one hour (as in having trouble keeping my eyes open) and then perfectly fine the next.
Been home since Saturday night, which was COLD. The fever contributed a little but it was so cold that I was able to see my breath while I was inside my room. Now it's raining a lot.
So while I was in Sacramento, I realized my nephew likes anime. hehehehe *fights urge to make him watch PoT* He's currently into Dragonball Z, but was watching the dubbed version. Also, I found Inuyasha on Adult Swim so I made him watch that. The dubbing is so.... weird. I still like Miroku, and although I only got to see 2 episodes, I remembered him as a much more lechy guy. I didn't get to watch Cowboy Bebop though. Also, they have this DVD of a series named Saint Tail. I opened it up out of curiosity and one of the seiyuus is Inoue Kazuhiko! (Hatori's seiyuu if you're wondering) I didn't watch it though because I think my family will think I'm weird if I watched it in Japanese. They don't understand. Also watched too much of a series called Boorin (Buurin) dubbed in Cantonese. It's about a girl who becomes a superhero and transforms.... normal shoujo story? not exactly. This super girl turns into a pink pig. hehehe It's aimed at young kids, but the reason I brought it up was that when the credits (Japanese) rolled by I thought I recognized a name.... and I was right! It was Ishida Akira (Mizuki). I pointed this out just because I am amused by the fact that I know what his name is in kanji....

Just out of curiosity, where did you hear it from? The thing is, even though I am seeing on a couple more blogs that the Tenipuri anime will end in March, I don't know if there's official word on it. I mean, the rumor about the anime being licensed was really strong right up to the day it was supposedly going to be announced and then nothing. It was all just a rumor, and the anime hadn't been licensed. I wouldn't be surprised though if it did end... it's been going downhill. Though I think it's still uber-popular.
I miss Okiayu's voice too. He has a new song coming out in January. Atobe too.
Supposedly Fuji will also be getting a new song in Feb.
The MMV site has new pictures up! Kimeru is in the Ryoma hat with his new darker hair. Maybe it's the cap, but he doesn't look as feminine as he usually does.
Am feeling sick..... maybe the flu that everyone had delayed for a couple of weeks? What were the symptoms? Throwing up, tiredness, fever, coughing, headaches? Gahhhhh.

Hmm, have read on a couple of blogs that the Tenipuri anime will end in March..... Also, the next episode of Tenipuri will be a chibi ep. Guess they're still not getting to Rikkai yet, huh?

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it! Happy 5th(?) night of Chanukah to those who celebrate it! Happy Thursday to the rest of us!
Will be bugging you forever or until I get those songs from you. hehehehee The one I really want to listen to is Feel My Soul, because I think it's the same song as the one on Fuji's album? Dude, Kimeru's becoming Fuji.
Also, I REALLY want to see what he looks like now that he's gotten his hair dyed dark for the Ryoma role. Maybe he looks more masculine? I keep imagining that CD cover of his.

I'm putting this out there because I'm obsessive..... Anyone with high-speed internet (or a speed higher than 28800 bps) want to do me a HUGE favor and download something for me? Beckymarie posted songs from Kimeru's album The Beginning on her LiveJournal, and I can't download them while I'm here. :(
Pretty please??? I don't know when I'll go home nor when she'll take them down. :( pretty pretty please?
Wow, youguys were all on sometime between now and last night. Anyway, hope holidays are going well. Hope to visit you guys down there soon, and will definitely be making both of you watch the musical. I think X will like it or at least find it a little amusing...... if only for our reactions to it. And yes, it is called TeniMyu. There are tons of nicknames for PoT stuff, like the radio shows are called RajiPuri, the anime is AniPuri, the manga Jumpuri (or JumpPuri?) since it appears in Shounen Jump.

If I make it out to your house, can we watch the Tenimyu interviews? My brother's computer is too slow to play the video at the right rate. *sniff sniff* They're too high quality for any of my old computers to play them right.
Was looking at the clips they have up at www.jumpfesta.com.... Tenipuri clips included Konomi-sensei (mangaka), the seiyuus of Yuuta, Eiji, Kaidoh, Oshitari, Atobe, Sanada (I think..... he was in a Rikkai uniform), Bane (??? Rokakku uniform. I think it's the one that always makes the puns, but I could be totally wrong), and Tachibana. However, the clip I was more interested in was the one where the *pnish* guys were dancing! I'm pretty sure I saw Eiji, Daiki, and Tuti. Well, I'm certain I see Daiki anyway. Want to see more, but they take so long to load. *sigh*
Am in Sacramento right now, connected at a whooping 26400bps... Was downloading Ad-Aware onto my sister's computer and it was downloading at a rate of 2Kb/s max. Ack. Found tons of stuff here. Wish I had VirusScan too because her computer is SO out of date.
I had to drive in here today because my parents were too lazy to do so themselves. I wish they'd remember that I haven't driven in 4 months, that my experience driving in the rain in minimal, especially driving two hours in the rain, and that I HAVE NO INSURANCE. Geez. I think I may be getting sick again because I kept feeling too cold then too hot while I was driving.
May be going to Reno in a couple of days, except it is snowing up in the mountains and plowing here ain't what it is in the East. Oh well.

Ahh, 56K, how slow you are. Oh well. Am I letting that stop me from downloading? Unfortunately not.
There is little to do back home. Am slowly replacing Internet with TV. There is very little edible stuff at home, which could be good in that it'll prevent me from snacking too much. On the other hand, it also means I eat nothing during the day and have a big dinner at night.
It's chilly here. Really. When the plane landed on Thursday, they said that the temperature was 54 degrees. The last couple of days have been rainy and cold though, low of 34 degrees.... which isn't bad until you consider that there is no heat inside the house. It takes a good 5 minutes before tap water turns from freezing cold is mildly cold.
May be in Sacramento for the next several days babysitting. Thought it might be okay, but now know that my parents will also be going. %^@*@&$% Lord have mercy on me.

Great sadness: Yanagi Koutaroh (Ryouma in the Tenipuri musical) got into a car accident several days ago. According to someone's LJ, he suffered serious injuries to the head, but nothing life-threatening (phew, thank goodness for that). Given this, he's not well enough to perform in the upcoming musical, so the cast has been shifted around. Cast changes:
Ryoma - Kimeru Fuji - Nagayama (Kikumaru of the summer run) Kikumaru - Ichitaroh (Kikumaru of the Golden Week run). The poor cast has to go on with the performance, and I would imagine that a lot has to get changed with this new casting. I really hope that Kou-chan gets better soon. The poor kid is only 17, and his birthday's is couple of days away.
If you can't tell, I'm home now. Was picked up from airport yesterday. My sister picked me up and then forgot where she parked her car.... so we spent 40 minutes looking for it. *sigh* In the time we were looking for the car, I've been reserved for babysitting for several days next week. bleh.
Yup, I know MJ was also a part of it, but I didn't expect her to read my blog. Of course, this would also be the time she chooses to re-enter the blogging world. Anyway, thank you both, and I hope everyone has a wonderful break! And MJ, :D on the Momo-chan dance.

Many things to blog about, seeing as I am now done with finals, I actually have time to do it! Let's see it'll be in this order: finals thoughts, Mona Lisa Smile review, and Prince of Tennis Musical fangirling. This will be LONG.
First....
Thank you for the gift. It is lovely. hehehehee
And yes, I did link Wankage. It's a funny story. :P
Took my last final and handed in my psyc final project. Yay, I'm done!!!!
Finals
So guess what I did during my chem final today:
Signs that your finals is not going as well as you would like:
You look at a word in the question and think "what the hell is that?"
You look it up (since it's an open-book) and then find it's not in your notes and go "HUH?"
You skim the text and go "WTF? When did we learn this?"
You look through your notes more carefully and find it written in there with no explanation/description.
You start thinking about how funny it would be if your notes all fell on the floor right then and there.
You start thinking about all the other stuff you have to before you leave.
You spend 1/30 of your time on a problem that's worth less than 1/100 of the grade.
You start playing the TeniMyu soundtrack over and over in your head...
You're tempted to sing along.
...because it makes more sense to you than the exam.
...even though you don't actualy know Japanese.
You start playing the dance sequences in TeniMyu over in your head.
...and learning the choreography from what you remember.
...and are sure you probably got it right.
You look up at the clock every 10 minutes exactly.
You're tempted to get up and go to your professor's office and go "Are you kidding me??"
Mona Lisa Smile
This.... was a bad film. I was tempted to fall asleep in the middle. Found some parts hilarious, but I don't think they were meant to be. Apparently, Wellesley students are brilliant, pompous, nerdy, bitches who all do their homework, know everything, and want to get married.
HA!
Bitches? Sure. Homework? What's that?
The campus was beautiful. The plot was pretty, um, non-existent. It amused me greatly how strangely they portrayed the school. Hated the fanservicey shots of the girls climbing on and tickling each other. Julia Roberts' role was pointless. Someone posted this on Community and I found it very amusing (reposting here without permission, sorry):
no wonder he (Dominic West's character) was sleeping with his students - his office was in caz! You guys know scene I'm talking about. ;)
My impression: it sucked.
Onto something more fun:
TeniMyu babbling!
This needs to be done today because I have been waiting 10 days to do it! Stupid finals preventing me from fangirling.
So where, do I even begin? *glasses gleaming*
The Actors:
Ryoma - Yanagi Koutaroh, henceforth known as Kou-chan. Kou-chan is, um, cute. All I could think is he looks like a girl. He's also tiny. Otherwise, I wasn't too impressed by him from the soundtrack, and in the earlier clips, he wasn't singing that well. However, as the show progressed, he got more confident, and his singing improved. He doesn't have much in terms of facial expressions, but this isn't much of an issue given that it's Ryoma. He's not snarky enough, but thanks to you and you, that isn't such a great loss because I'll now equate "snarky" with that.
Tezuka - Takigawa Eiji (TakiEiji). Buchou looks good. That's the main impression I get. Since Tezuka expresses very few emotions, it didn't matter that his look didn't change much. He struts beautifully (good thing since he's a model). His singing isn't that bad, but goodness, no dancing, PLEASE. Really. Still looks good though. Oishi - Tsuchiya Yuuichi (Tuti). I love Tuti. He's a member of *pnish* and seems adorable. However, what stood out, was definitely his hair. The hairpins, specifically. He is one of the better singers, and he dances well, although he doesn't do much here. For some reason, Tuti looks worse as Oishi than he normally looks. Can't get a decent cap of him.
Fuji - Kimeru (Kime). heheheheeee Kime.... Kime is beautiful. He is so pretty. That is what I will always think of first. The second thing is that his voice is so beautiful. He definitely sings VERY well, and it's no wonder he sings the bulk of the songs. It's amazing how such a powerful voice comes out of that tiny little body. I think he does a good job of being Fuji, though Fuji may have been more graceful. His voice more than makes up for the lack of dancing.
Kikumaru - Ichitaroh. Really, of all of the regulars, Ichitaroh disappointed me the most. He looked and sounded the part, but he was so out of character half the time! I mean, he'll jump and twirl, but when he stops and starts singing, he slouches. No! Kikumaru is supposed to be bouncy and energetic, not slouchy and dejected like that. Arg. This one bothers me, and I hope Nagayama does a better job. I still love his racket spinning though.
Taka - Abe Yoshitsugu (Abe). Abe is talented. He sings pretty well, dances pretty well, and acts pretty well. Ore was burning was hilarious. I love how he switches between the burning and calm modes. He is, however, a bit shorter than I would have expected and more feminine than I think Taka should be. Still, he was a powerful Taka and does a great job. He's one of the few regulars who can sing and dance at the same time, and it's great.
Inui - Souta Aoyama (Souta). Souta looks good (he's a model too) and does a good job acting like Inui. However, he can't sing nor dance. BAD SINGING and BAD DANCING. But! That's okay, since Inui doesn't sing anyway (he only raps or talks in his songs). I love the way Souta is so into his role as Inui that he had a notebook like Inui's (with the word "sou" written on it), AND he even made Inui juice and brought it to practice. I think he made Kime drink it too. hehehe. He's adorable and does the Inui laugh SO well (like after the Fuji-Kiku song) that I forgive his non-ability in singing and dancing.
Momo - Moriyama Eiji (Eiji or Eizee). Now we get to the guy responsible for the majority of my interest in this show. Eiji is wonderful. I love him. He's awesome. First, he looks the part perfectly... actually, he's cuter than Momo, really. Second, he sounds great. I've mentioned this many times, but Eiji is Ibu Shinji's seiyuu. Here, he often sounds exactly like Momo, and it's great. He sings well too. Third, he is a good dancer, and though the dances weren't the greatest things in the show, I LOVE his Momo dance. I cannot help be crack up when he gets to that one certain part. Not because he's shaking his hips, but because of that look on his face. You can tell he's an excellent performer and loves what he's doing and loves giving the audience what they want. It's so much fun to watch him perform. He's also one of the few that dance ad sing at the same time, plus he acted the part so well. Eizee's also a member of *pnish*, with whom I have been obsessed for a while now. On top of everything, Eiji's cute. So cute. looking at the pictures Becky Marie posted, I just want to pinch his cheeks or something. I've seen some good and bad pictures of him, but I have to say, he's adorable.
Kaidoh - Naoya Gomoto (Naoyan). Naoyan did a GREAT job imho. He looked, sounded, and acted the part. He sings well in Kaidoh's voice, even if banana_onigiri thinks he sounds constipated, but who cares? I especially LOVED the part where he was in the background of "The Regulars" and was running in place.
The others - I thought non-regulars were absolutely wonderful. If they went for looking like the characters when they casted the regulars, they went for talent in casting the others. Horio was cute, Arai was cute, Kachiro (who'se Kentarou's seiyuu, btw) looked girly. Nanjiroh was EXCELLENT and danced really well too. :D
So, all in all, I thought that the best singers were Kime (duh), Abe, Eiji, Tuti, and Naoyan.
Best actors were Abe, Eiji, Naoyan, "the others".
Best dances were Abe, Eiji, Nanjiroh!
The show was really slashy, especially with the 3-6. The Rivals song, the TezukaOishi, the look that was on Fuji's fae when Taka's and got hurt. What I LOVED however was when Eiji blows a kiss to Kime during You Got Game. Such fanservice, those two! They're so cute.
Overall impression, I loved it A LOT. Certain scenes were just wonderful (eg, Ore wa Momochan, Ore wa burning) and the Behind the Scenes was EXCELLENT. Damn, Kime, I wish I could put on make-up like you! Tuti's scream was so cute. Naoyan was adorable, and so was Eiji.
This was so much fun to watch that I watched it three times during finals.... and a certain someone watched it een more times than me. hehehee Ooooh, so much crack it hurts.
