*bangs head against wall* Boy, do I feel silly. *glances again at chat box* Ano, Suiel-san, you're not pulling my leg are you? Ne? Ne? *big sweatdrop* D'oh. >.< Oh well. She's cute. I still wanna go out with her. XD
What have I learned this morning from the 18.05 test? Well, just that I should never, ever underestimate my power to fuck up incredibly simple things. Yes, I've screwed up ramen. I've even screwed up Macaroni and Cheese. I think I am just one big, walking, talking, DDR-playing FUCK UP. >.< Comforting thought, isn't it?
Japanese exam tomorrow. So screwed. Will study by watching more One Piece. Yeah, that's the plan. I don't think it's a very good plan, but it's a plan. Might even write fanfiction, because fanfiction always wants itself to be written at the worst possible of times. -_-;; Need to get my 3 Seishirou x Subaru stories done. Must finish. MUST FINISH! EEERGH!
Last of all, two weeks until Spring Break. I survive this week, and the next...and then it's time to break out the good old sewing machine and GET MY ASS working on stuff that REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to get done before April 18.
Will not scream in frustration...will not scream in frustration...

Smashing your dreams:
You know you've watched too much anime when...
It's easier for you to tell the genders of anime characters apart than it is for you to tell real people apart.
(I know Omi's going to whack me for saying that one... ^^;; *big sweatdrop*)
Wow, the One Piece 2nd Opening sucks. No kidding. >.< I just downloaded it and saw it...and it stinks. The music is awesome, but they didn't do a good job with the animating-to-the-music part. O_o;; What a shitty opening. -_-;; Not as much fun as the first one. ^^;; They should have used the second ending as the 2nd opening. That was a good ending.
...what am I saying? I'm evaluating the openings and endings of One Piece! O_o;;
So yeah...I just made a new layout. It's simple, and cute, but I guess that's the way it goes sometimes. ^_~ Take a wild guess what the next layout features! XD Shouldn't be too hard to guess...I've just spent..oh...the last couple of weeks or so raving about it. XD
Oh, I took a look at the MegaCon pics on Rising Sun (yes, I am a total cosplay nerd. This is because it's crunch time for Anime Boston, and I don't have squat done for any of my costumes...)...
...and now I melt into a puddle of jealousy. -_-;; I'm praying that my Riku cosplay turns out as decent as his. ;_; (He's pretty cute too! ^_^ *heart* Oh wait, I have a boyfriend already. *beats head against wall* No checking out other guys for me. ^_~)
Well, if all goes wrong, I at least have the comfort of knowing that I can't screw up Luffy. I just CAN'T. There's no screwing up Luffy cosplay.

Did I just jinx myself? ^^;;
Mwar.
I really ought to stop spending money. ^^;; *sweatdrop* Right Stuf was selling the entire DVD set of Sorcerer Hunters/Bakuretsu Hunters for $30. You know, if I can get an entire 26 episode series for the price of one DVD...that's so worth it. ^_^
But still...I shouldn't be busting money out like this. I should be saving up for Anime Boston which is in a little over a month! >.< I know...I just won't buy anything at Anime Boston...*coughs* Right...just won't buy anything...^^;; *big sweatdrop* I just hope that there's nothing TO buy. ^^;; I'm going to be SO BROKE! *sobs* Between Anime Boston, and paying for my brass rat...yeah. -_-;; No money.
I just realized that I've had this layout for almost a month. O.o;; I guess Riku is my favorite layout posterboy, because v.7 also stayed up for almost a month. O_o;; *sweatdrop* I'll have to make a new layout soon! ^^;; Maybe tonight...^_^ Yes, I am layout obsessed. Is that a problem?

Where's my Shounen Jump?! It hasn't come in the mail yet! Grrr! I want my Shounen Jump! >.< NOW!
Everyone should stop to glomp Asphodel because she just got me episode 29 of One Piece, the next one in the long sequence that I'm missing. ^^;; Yay! *dances* I had no idea that Kaizoku Fansubs was doing One Piece, but 36 just came out last night. ^^;; God, finding old files is such a pain, since Torrent just doesn't work that way. -_-;; *sobs* I'll try Kazaa, since the OpenNap WinMX people are queued up the ass... >.<
But anyways, let's all thank Asphodel for keeping me sane this weekend. ^_^ Yay! One Piece! *cheers*
On another note...I love Farscape. ^_^ I'm so sad it's all going to be over. *cries*

Smashing your dreams: Pulse (Macross Plus - Kanno Yoko)
So Central Park Media is rereleasing the Tokyo Babylon DVD...and the amusing thing is they're advertising it as "The Prequel to the X Movie!" which...uh...brings up the fact that Subaru and Seishirou are in the X movie for HOW LONG?!
A minute? Maybe? Less than that! They have their introduction, and then they DIE! In the FIRST FIVE FREAKING MINUTES! I wouldn't exactly say that Tokyo Babylon was an X movie prequel...but I do think the TB storyline is certainly important for a greater understanding of the dynamisms of the X character relationships in the manga and the TV series...
Anyhoo, this day hasn't gone well. So screwed for next week. 18.05 test on Monday (great way to start out the week, eh?) and Japanese test on Tuesday. ARGH! And I've had an upset stomach all day and my body is doing weird things. >.< *tears hair out*
New episode of Farscape tonight. Must watch Farscape tonight! ^_^ Goooo Scorpius!

Smashing your dreams:
You know, after watching the episode 7 of Wolf's Rain over again...doesn't it just seem that Tsume is getting gayer and gayer? First, we won't comment on the way that he dresses...*cough cough* ^_~
But when Kiba and the rest of the crew finally finds Cheza, Tsume is the only one that still looks grumpy and declines to comment on the subject of women. XD Given his previous experiences with Toboe licking his wound (and possibly other things as well ^_~), I would like to point out that Tsume is kind of...you know...gay. ^_~ *grins*
Not that I'm complaining of course (though Tsume is one sexy piece of hunk that I wouldn't mind for myself ^^;; *cough*) since I'm a big fan of Tsume/Toboe.
On another note, I'm not that sick anymore. -_-;; Thank god I don't have to deal with my writing teacher anymore, so I've only got one class today, work at the library, and the make-up quiz for 24.900 to do. ^^;; I really should study that. I suck at phonetic stuffs. ^^;; I get velar and alveopalatal mixed up...and then I can't remember the IPA symbols...and everything's just all bad. -_-;; *sighs*

Smashing your dreams: Free Bird (Haibane Renmei Opening)
So, maybe it wasn't food poisoning. Chris just got the same thing this morning (vomiting accompanied by slight fever), and Ray had it over the weekend. Probably some bug that circulating around the house. ^_^ Hooray for house diseases! ^_^
So yeah, skipped out on school today. Went to bed at 12:30am last night, slept fitfully, woke up and walked around a couple of times, finally got my ass out of bed at 3:30pm. *big sweatdrop* Did some studying, watched the new episode of Wolf's Rain...
Yeah. -_-;; Being sick sucks. ^^;;

Don't you just love it when your food decides to go out the way it came in?
I've napped twice today since 6pm, and just finished puking my 3rd time. Yay! Skuld leaning over the trash can~! >.< I blame it all on the sushi I ate for lunch. Ick. Not touching anything with meat in it for a week. O_o;;
...=_=;; Ugh, amazing how much better you feel after you've puked your guts out? ...and I'm still feeling pretty shitty on the Scale-of-Shittiness. *sighs*
On second thought, maybe this is magical backlash because I tried to curse her. >.< Oh, curses. ^^;; I need to find myself a tree in which to shunt the barfy badness. ^^;;

Smashing your dreams: Mild Food Poisoning!
Well, enjoy this very vomity blog entry, people. -_-;; What a great way to celebrate my new found liberty from my writing professor.
FREEDOM!
I'm FREEEEEE!
Talked to Cooney, the Bitch Writing Teacher from Hell. >.< She still hasn't really told me what her big problem with my writing is. O_o;; I'm not understanding why switching POV in a work of fiction can be construed as such a bad thing. >.< Creative writing is about trying to new things to see if they work. She hasn't even seen my ideas, and she's already telling me that they suck. Oh, whatever.
So she asked me, in office hours, "Are you writing for yourself, or are you writing for the class?"
...excuse me? Do I even need to think? Of course I write for myself! That's the entire purpose of my writing! I don't write a piece of creative fiction or even fanfiction for anyone else to read; I write for myself, for my own expression first and foremost. >.< I can't imagine people writing works just to please their teacher, their class, or their fans. That's a bastardization of writing. That's called 'selling out.'
So she told me that if I was going to just write for myself, then I might as well drop the class. So I did. I've dropped the class. ^_^ Now I don't have to worry about the BITCH FROM HELL breathing down my neck and snubbing fanfiction. w0000t! I feel so good. Now I only have ONE class on Tuesdays and Thursdays! ROCK! ^_^ And that class starts at 1pm...so that means I'm free to sleep in!
I'm so totally celebrating! *dance dance*

More happy, hyper DDR music. Haven't done much homework today. Grrrr...punting is bad. One Piece battles are almost as long as DBZ ones. >.< I am now going to kill myself for making that analogy.
I wish I had nice cosplay like her. Unfortunately, anyone can spot me as Hyper Fangirl(tm) from a mile away. -_-;; I seem to have one of these perpetual grins on my faces so characteristic of innocent Japanese schoolgirls. *sighs* Thankfully, I am not actually any of those three things.
Let's just say that my fangirlness so pervades my character that it just won't go away. I wasn't a terribly stern Auron at ShoujoCon last year. ^^;; I had this big happy I'm-at-a-con!grin on my face. ^^;; *sweatdrop* No doubt I still will at Anime Boston. So I'll be Grinny!Riku, Auron-with-the-scary-smile...and well, at least it'll fit for Luffy and TB Seishirou. ^^;; Finally, something that fits my fangirliness. *big sweatdrop*
Legato at Otakon is going to be difficult to pull off. We'll see how many seconds I can go without breaking into a very un-Legato-like grin. ^^;; I'm placing my bets on 45 sec. Anyone else care to wager? ^^;;
Oh, and this gives me a reason to wipe out the entire human race.

....or at least...a significant portion of it.
D.N.Angel! w00000t! I wish I knew more about this series. ^_^ Yay for good anime coming out. ^_^ *fufufufufu*
That reminds me that Brad finally has the next episode of One Piece! ^_^ *cheers* I can't wait until I get home and watch it. -_-;; I don't know why I'm so addicted to One Piece. It is cool. That is all I can say. *sweatdrops*
Schedule for final exams are out. *groans*
...WHY?!! WHY?!! WHY IS 9.14 FIRST! THAT'S GOING TO BE THE HARDEST CLASS! Why can't farking Schneider put it last?! Why does he have to make it the FIRST TEST~! *argh* And I only have THREE DAYS to study this term! We don't have Thursday off! *bangs head against wall*
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! >.< *sobs* I'm so scrod this term! Even if I do drop Fiction Workshop! *sobs*
...here's something that'll vaguely cheer me up. She has a sweet-ass layout. ^_^ It makes me feel all warm and happy inside. I don't care if I don't have a farking CLUE who she is. ^^;; All S/S fans are brethren, riiiight? ^_____^

Anyways, my worthwhile contribution of the day is making Asphodel sympathize with Legato Bluesummers. ^_^;; I still don't think she likes him, but now at least, she's not ready to mash his face into the Planet Gunsmoke dirt. *big sweatdrop* That means I will be safe from any physical harm from her direction when I do my Legato cosplay. ^^;;

Smashing your dreams: Absolute (DJ Taka)
Bought more cosplay stuff today. This really is an unhealthy addiction. Got stuff for Luffy's vest. That's basically it. *sweatdrops* Need to sew it sometime (not tonight heh heh), and then I'm probably mostly through with Luffy. Also need to find denim shorts of the right color...I don't have any. *sighs* This might be just a tad bit difficult. I figure...maybe I can ask one my friends...or find something cheap at Garment District? ^^;;
Went to Dim Sum this morning with Destra and Alex. Afterwards, we went to get that cool pearl/tapioca juice stuff, then went to the fabric store, then Skuld bought some frozen dumplings to tide her over for the week, and now I'm here, studying, wishing I had time to cosplay.
My Fiction Workshop is driving me insane. God, I hate my teacher. I'm meeting with her Tuesday morning, and if I storm outta there, you can bet I'm never going back. >.< She better not piss me off, or I'm totally dropping that class. Oh well, it'll give me more time to work on my fanfiction projects I've been meaning to write. ^^;; And my cosplay too. ^_^ whee!
Wow...my results are sooo....NOT surprising. Though I was actually expecting to get Tatsumi... ^^;; Oh well. Muraki fits much nicer, though I would have loved to be Sephiroth. *squeeeee*
...so this was what I got when I took the uke test. *sweatdrops* Well, I guess that makes things quite clear, doesn't it? *grins*

Smashing your dreams:
HOLY SHIT!
Looks like a new Angelique game is gonna be coming out sooon...
And I like the new character designs. I'm glad that Julious abandoned his pansy hairdo from Trois. ^_^ Now he's got the nice, long blond hair flowing over his shoulders again. I don't know what the hell Zephel and Randy have on their heads...I won't ask. Olivie is still hot as all hell...as always. XD Marcel looks older (I hope he's legal now! Finally! Took the kid long enough...), and Lumiale still looks like beautiful, sweet Lumiale. *dreamy sigh* I love the Angelique guys. ^^;;
Here's the news for the day. Beat a couple of new DDR songs. ^_^ *is happy* Most notable are Witch Doctor when I was almost collapsing/dying, AM-3P (FINALLY! >.<), and Dead End! ^_^ Whoo! Another nine-foot song. ^_^
I go to sleep happy now. XD And they resurrected Harvey/Scorpius/voice-in-John-Crichton's head from Farscape! W00000~
All in all, a very productive evening.

Smashing your dreams: Cat's Eye
Do you guys ever wonder how jaded we would be if we were those kids on children's television shows?
I mean, imagine those kids on Sesame Street. Imagine how your world just crumble when you realized that Grover wasn't really Grover, he was just some guy sitting underneath a table. What if you knew the guy that dressed up as Big Bird or Snuffy? Wouldn't your entire childhood realm then be shattered?
Thankfully, I was never a kid on a children's TV show. I think would have ended up much more cynical than I am now. O_o;;
But as for fucked-up-ness...I wonder what those kids on Pee Wee's Playhouse are doing now. That show is responsible for the way I am today. I am not kidding you. I watched it again recently...and then everything just suddenly became clear. It's Pee Wee. Spending any amount of Saturday mornings with him has really got to mess up your mind.

Just had my morning of verbal abuse from my Stats teacher. >.< He's complaining that we're slow and stupid...when actually his own examples are so ridiculously idiotic that my precious synaptic pathways don't even want to waste neurotransmitter answering what the area of a right triangle is. >.< How insulting that he's got examples like that.
I'm so annoyed. I'm so falling asleep. I'm so pissed that my Stats prof. was ragging us out for being dumb. >.< Just because I don't want to answer a stupid question, doesn't mean I don't know the answer. Sheesh. >.<

Smashing your dreams:
Why is it that I'm always asleep on Tuesdays and Thursdays? I think it is something inherent in the fact that I take advantage of that extra hour of sleep, and it'll totally throw me off. *sweatdrop* I should just go back to having 6 hours of sleep, because I think I function better that way. Don't ask me why, it's the way the world works.
I'm not even to begin talking about how much my writing teacher is bugging me...>.< I'll just imagine roasting her slowly over a small fire >.<
Started writing fanfiction again, dunno if I'll actually finish this one. I've decided not to do my Kingdom Hearts piece, I don't think it's worth it. -_-;; It would take a lot of effort and a lot of time, both of which I cannot afford at this present moment.
I have so many writing projects going on right now, it's crazy. >.< Most of them, I've started and dropped, and that is a very bad sign. *sighs*
MediaForce e-mailed Brad about having "The Two Towers" on his computer, and IS shut him down. Geez, that sucks. Oh well, I hope he's back up now so I can get some more One Piece episodes from him! He was in the middle of downloading the next episode (ep. 28) when they killed his account! DAMMIT! I need the next episode of One Piece! I don't care if the translation people suck, I need the next episode!
Got episode 6 of Wolf's Rain. I don't think I've watched episode 5 yet. ^^;; It's cool, but I'm fairly hosed tonight so... -_-;; Need to get that darn 18.05 done. *groans*
Oh, for those of you intending to enter in the Anime Boston DDR Tournament, I have comfirmation that they are not going to be able to rent an arcade machine, so I am going to assume that DDR will be done on some sort of other bad. In that case, I'm not going to enter. -_-;; I was weaned on the arcade pads, and because the timing of the soft pads is slightly different, it makes playing very difficult to time for me. *sigh* So yeah, no DDR for me. After all, if Pete is afraid to enter (he's the guy who unlocked Maxx Unlimited and Kakumei at our machine here), then I know I'm REALLY SCREWED. O_o;;
We're trying to come up with ideas for a skit for our FFX group at Anime Boston, but no one's being particularly spectacularly creative so...we'll see how it goes in the next couple of days. I'm also afraid that my UROP funding hasn't gotten through yet...O_o;; And if I don't get an e-mail tomorrow, I may not get UROP funding period. And that would JUST SUCK. >.< *sigh*
Please don't let that be the case. I NEED to get paid for the 20-something hours I put in to finish the CLAM project! GRRR!
Note to self: watch Trigun again. Is Knives' plugsuit really THAT tight? O_o;; On second though, can anyone tell me how to make a tight jumpsuit like that? ^^;;

Smashing your dreams:
Hara heta... -_-;; I'm so hungry, I could eat as much as Luffy right now. Okay, maybe not Luffy. Maybe Zoro. XD I wonder if Sanji would cook for me...Sanji-san, oishii ohiru gohan o tsukutte kudasaimasen ka? *sweatdrop* Sanji's cool. He reminds me a lot of Yuki Eiri...except instead of a good writer, he's a good cook. ^^;; And he has curly eyebrows and can kick (literally) a lot of ass.
So now I've watched up to episode 24 of One Piece! ^_^ *is happy* Whoever's translating the episodes though...I dunno...They don't speak English, obviously, and they don't speak Japanese very well either, I think. ^^;; But whatever, it'll be an exercise in my Japanese listening comprehension. ^^;; I can understand most of what's going on if I supplement the crappy subtitling with what I hear. ^_^ *grins*
NEED MORE ONE PIECE. NEED IT. On the bright side, I now know who Mihawk is. I will not ask why they have Mihawk x Kuro out there, or Mihawk x Shanks. Wow, and I thought I was a patron of strange pairings... -_-;; Unless One Piece reveals something dramatic about these characters, I will just assume that Japanese fangirls and fanboys pulled these pairings straight outta their asses.
As for Naruto pairings, I was poking around on fanart sites and someone's MOTHER drew them a graphic Sasuke x Naruto pic. I'm SO jealous. It was a NICE pic too. DAMN! I wish MY mother would draw me graphic yaoi pictures! ... but then again, I think I am probably better off with my mom not doing that. It would just be too screwed up. O_o;; "Mommy mommy! Can you draw Naruto and Sasuke having sex? please? please?" *shivers*
Anyways...I keep leeching off Brad for One Piece. I'm glad he likes the show too, otherwise I'd totally be stuck for getting more episodes.l Got 32-33 from Ed last night...but that's quite a far cry from where I am...and I hate watching things out of order so...
Yeah. Hosed tonight. Really really fucking hosed tonight. Hosed tomorrow night too. Hosed this weekend. The hose-age of having 5 classes has finally caught up to me. ARGH! @_@ I'm so fucked. -_-;; *sighs* No more watching anime tonight...^^;; *sweatdrop* Maybe I can put aside half an hour for my last episode of Wolf's Rain, before I start up on the Shen Diao Xia Lu/Condor Hero anime again. ^^;; And heaven forbid Brad get more One Piece episodes tonight or tomorrow. I'd never get ANY work done then. -_-;;

Smashing your dreams: Stomach grumbling...
Couple of things before I go off to shower for tonight...and stay up doing 18.05. =_=;; All-nighter Thursday night...maybe... -_-;;
First, we have: XXXholic, CLAMP's new manga, which looks like it's done by Mick Nekoi again. ^^;; Looks...interesting. ^^;; I can only read the first line at the top, but says something like, "A store that will grant any type of wish." O_o;; Petshop of Horrors anyone? ^^;;
Second, just picked up on a cute little comic by Ko. ^_^;; But must everyone remind me that Seishirou's dead? >.<
Last, there is her blog, which has the most gorgeous fanart layout I've seen in a while. *dreamy sighs* I so wish I could draw like that! ;_; She does a nice Seishirou. It makes me feel all warm and happy inside. ^^;; *heart heart heart* This is also done by her, and it's absolutely gorgeous. ^_^ *dreamy sighs* We need more Riku x Sora pictures out there. ^_^ <3
Been watching Wolf's Rain, it kicks ass. I think the seiyuu that does Kiba could be the one that does Kamui in the X TV series...but I'm not exactly sure. ^^;; I should look it up later. ^^;; *sweatdrop*
Either way, Wolf's Rain is awesome, and you should watch it. It has music by Yoko Kanno! That in itself is a good enough reason to watch, ne? ^_~ *heart* Kanno-sama! *___*
On another track...Tsume is hot stuff. Another guy with silver hair. What is it with me and silver hair?! I can't figure it out. Silver hair is soooo pretty. ^_^;; Maybe I'm just attracted to silver things...^^;; *drool*
Question of the day: What's up with all that Kuro x Mihawk?! O_o;; Someone tell me they didn't just pull that outta their ass....

Smashing your dreams:
DOOM!
DEATH!
ANNIHILATION! thing... -_-;;
Went to the Schoolgirls and Superheroes: Gender and Sexuality in Shoujo Manga thing last night. It was kind of disappointing because most of the discussion focused on Yuri/Shoujo-ai, which oddly, isn't all that big in the shoujo market. ^^;; I tried to steer the discussion toward yaoi/shounen-ai, but all of the panelists were pretty much shoujo-ai experts so... -_-;; *sigh*
I'll take a look at some books by Professor Henry Jenkins (I swear he knows everything about modern culture), and check out some of Matt Thorn's articles.
Needless to say, I was really hurting for some intellectual yaoi discussion last night. ;_; I know there was quite a bit of talk about shoujo-ai and gender roles in Utena (and I didn't mind that one bit), but I'm surprised that no one actually touched on shounen-ai/yaoi which has started to become such a large part of shoujo anime and manga. This lack of yaoi-talk prompted me to start a panel at Anime Boston.
Yeah, you heard me right. I've decided to run a "Philsophical Yaoi" panel. ^^;; The official listing of my panel is here. I'm hoping that some of the people who attend will have interesting insights on the ultimate question of why we like yaoi. Is there any logical or philosophical basis for this? etc. etc. etc.
Stuff. So yeah. ^_^ That's the plug for my panel. All of you who are going to Anime Boston should come and talk. ^_^ *poke*

Smashing your dreams: Run Run Run! (One Piece)
For the record:
Amberlee has been sucked into The Sims. ^_^ I haven't yet, because I'm too damn scared to play it. She hasn't slept in 48 hours. I'm afraid that if I start playing that in addition to my Smash Bros. and One Piece addiction... O_O;; No one would ever see me, or my problem sets again. *sweatdrop* So I will stay away from The Sims in a judicious effort to keep my grades (barely) floating.
Not much happened this weekend, heard that One Piece has been picked up by FUNimation, but hasn't been disclosed as to whether this is for TV purposes or will go directly to home audiences via those handy DVD thingies. ^_^;;
Now I have up to episode 20 of One Piece...and I NEED MORE. NEEEED IT! I NEEEEEEEEEED One Piece. ^_^;; I've gotten to the park where Sanji shows up (he reminds me of a fruitier version of Yuki Eiri from Gravitation, strangely enough), and I NEED more. -_-;; Oh well, I hope I don't have to wait a week for it like the poor japanese audiences did. ^^;;
Been watching Wolf's Rain. It's a pretty cool show, nice music done by Yoko Kanno, and the art style is very nice and pretty. Interesting story too, I know that Asphodel would probably like it. ^_^ I'm still trying to figure out what gender/sex Toboe is...since "he" looks a LOT like a "she"... Even I am confused, and I am usually very good at correctly identifying bishonen. ^_^;; *sweatdrops*
Either way, Kiba so far seems like your typical angsty bishonen main character, and Tsume is the strong and silent type. I like Tsume. ^_^ It must be the silver hair. *nod nod* I'm such a sucker for the silver hair thing.
Speaking of people and their gender/sexuality, there's a "Gender and Sexuality in Modern Anime" seminar tonight, which is why I volunteered to stay on campus and work a couple of extra hours here in the library. ^_^ It looks interesting. That reminds me that I should probably be doing more work... -_-;; *sighs* Since I am hosed after all, and I need four pages of writing by tomorrow. *groans* I think I only have a little over a page. Thank god Prof. Cooney wants the pages in double spacing. I am really hurting for some inspiration here. ^_^
I'm happy that Mom is getting me my class's Brass Rat for my b-day. ^_^ Whee! So a Brass Rat (for you non-MIT peeps) is our class ring here at MIT. Every class has a unique class ring that is designed by our peers, and we call it a "Brass Rat" because our mascot (the beaver), always looks a lot like a rat. XD (And the ring looks brassy, so it is said. ^^;;)
I don't know much about how college kids get class rings (as far as I know most college kids don't), but there's a lot of MIT pride around here (even though our ring has IHTFP on it ^_~. That stands for I Hate This Fucking Place). It's also somewhat of a tradition, and a generous portion of MIT students have Brass Rats. ^_^ So Mom has said she's going to pay for the one I want. ^_^ *is happy*
Anyways, has anyone noticed the interesting discrepancy between the way that people blog? I mean, some people just rant on their blog, some of them only note noteworthy happenings of the day, some of them only do philosophical blogs, while I just sit around and blog about my day and various mundane things in my life. I wonder if that says anything about our respective personalities. ^^;;

Smashing your dreams: Silence
"Believe," the second opening to One Piece, sounds like it could be a DDR song. ^_^;; I'm not shitting you. O_O;; It's got the same sort of sound as a lot of the Japanese DDR songs. *sweatdrops* It's funny how I've played so much DDR that songs start sounding "DDR-ish" to me. ^^;;;
So..
...yeah...
Apparently Princess Tutu is longer than I thought it was. ^^;; So there's another season. O_o;; I thought it was just 13 episodes...but episode 14 just came out this season...soo...
I hope they resolve a lot of the questions I had at the ending. I sure hope they'll have the kind of ending I'm looking for, but I'm still turned off by how they did the first season. And I dunno...I'm not a big fan of mahou shoujo shows with dumbass heroines.
I think I've realized why I like Luffy over all the other mahou shoujo idiots... -_-;; So in typical mahou shoujo, the girl flounders around for a bit during the battles trying to decided what to do because they're panicking in the annoying mahou shoujo way. This happens because of extremely low intelligence levels.
The difference, is that while Luffy ain't exactly the brightest cookie in the cookie jar, is at least he can kick ass. And he can kick it hard. And he doesn't freak out and act helpless. ^_^ Luffy just kicks some ass with his Gomu-Gomu-ness. XD
I love you, Luffy. *glomp*
I think I've decided that I hate magical girl shows. All the ones I've watched except for CCS and Utena have really bugged/annoyed me in some way or other. -_-;; (Sailor Moon, Wedding Peach, Princess Tutu, Nurse Angel Ririka SOS...etc.)
I guess I'm just selective my shoujo-liking. ^_^ Not a fan of the mahou shoujo (who is?), but definitely a good fan of the shounen-ai/yaoi part of shoujo. XD Heh heh heh. I'm beginning to think that maybe I am more of a shounen fan after all. ^^;; *checks manga shelf* Nah...

Smashing your dreams: Believe (One Piece)
w000!
Still raving about One Piece and how much I like it. I'm still trying to figure out why I like it so much. If you really think about it, One Piece has a lot of individual aspects that I normally really hate.
I hate stupid/naive main characters (and Luffy is definitely in the naive category), I hate crappy art (One Piece does not have a very sophisticated art style), I don't like repetitive stories told in small arcs, and I'm not a very big fan of lighthearted comedy or adventure anime. O_o;; These are all characteristics of One Piece.
Somehow, if you glom together everything I don't like in anime shows...you end up with something that I really love. O_o;; I LOVE ONE PIECE. ^_^ It's SOOOO cool. And I'm not sure what's so cool about it. I dunno. *shrugs* I lurve Luffy, he's really cool. I like the story, I like the comedy, and I'm actually quite taken with the art style. O_o;; I think One Piece grows on you the more you watch it. ^^;;
I first fell in love with it over Thanksgiving at Chiko's place last year. The first issue of Shounen Jump had just come out, and One Piece was the one story in there that I wanted to read. ^_^;; (I'd heard of it before, but wasn't quite sure what it was about.) So I read the One Piece in there, and absolutely loved it. ^_^
I finished the chapter and went, "Wow! THAT IS SOOO COOL!" And then I read more One Piece, and got the anime. ^_^ Yup, it is now safe to say that my One Piece addiction is fully cemented. ^_^ ONE PIECE! *cheers* It's so cool.
I've heard rumours that it's been picked up by either Cartoon Network or WB? O_o;; NO WAY.
Dammit, they pick up a good anime as soon as I get into it. -_-;; Now they're going to butcher it and turn it into complete crap. *sobs*
I guess that means I should cosplay Luffy at Anime Boston, before everybody and their brother decides to cosplay Luffy. >.< *sighs* Maybe I can do Luffy Saturday evening at Anime Boston? When I want to change into something for comfortable than my Auron costume. ^_^;; (Not that my Auron costume isn't comfy...^^;;)
Still need a skit for the Masquerade. God I hope I get inspiration. *prays*

Smashing your dreams: We Are! (One Piece)
Beginranty blog entry.
Today is an off day.
First of all, I realize in the middle of 18.05 (Stats) that I forgot to finish copying down my homework from my scratch paper, so I had to do that in the middle of lecture. -_-;;
At least Japanese went all right, but we have a test on Monday. >.< So then 24.900 (intro to linguistics) really sucked because the recitation instructor speaks very softly and in a strong Korean accent, so I can't understand nor hear her. (The classroom being right off the noisy Infinite Corridor doesn't help either.) So that left me feeling off for 9.14
In 9.14 there was a quiz on the twelve cranial nerves, and I forgot what part of the brain some of them came from, so I just tried to make educated guesses. >.< *sighs*
Then I come here to lab, and it's 4:15, and suddenly three Russian-speaking test subjects show up for their 5pm appointment. Hello? 45 minutes early! I was downloading mp3's and was totally unprepared! And I only knew about 2 people coming...not three. -_-;; So then I ran around for a while trying to get everything set up on the computers so I could run them....and then I notice that they barely speak any English, which is a major problem. O_o; ;
I mean, it's a Russian-cognitive experiment, but all the instructions are in English! I hope they do what they're supposed to. -_-;; I suppose the only way we can find out is from looking at their data. >.<
Unfortunately, these three people aren't MIT community people, and I don't actually have enough cash to pay them, so I'm going to have to give them vouchers and hope they can find their way around the MIT campus. -_-;; *sigh*
So yeah, today is an off day. I hope it gets better.
Anime Club is showing more Haibane Renmei and Princess Tutu, and the beginning of One Piece. I'm going to hope that Haibane Renmei and One Piece cheer me up.
I think I'm going to rail on Princess Tutu now. Okay, so yeah....Princess Tutu bashing.
....
....
....
I think Princess Tutu had a lot of potential at the beginning. It's definitely one of those weird, surreal shows. I mean, it's about a duck who gets turned into a girl, who goes to a very European ballet/arts school. It has other anthropomorphic characters and a nice fairytale-like mystic atmosphere.
It's got a lot of Utena references (like Edel...who very much reminds me of C-ko, the shadow girl) and a nice fairytale turned reality, princess saves prince sort of thing.
Unfortunately, it's very cheeeeeeesy. CHEEEEEEESY. It's not as dark as it pretends to be, and it feels like the way that Princess Tutu resolves the conflicts in each episode is very cliche of typical mahou shoujo shows. >.<
I think the anime had a wonderful premise, but unfortunately fails to deliver the ending that it had built up to. It leaves a lot of loose ends hanging, and that just annoyed me. It also has a typical fairytale ending that wasn't so much about a tragic female character, as it was about the battle of good and evil. >.< And it does a shitty job at the "good vs. evil" thing too, by leaving too many logistical questions unanswered.
So in the end, Ahiru/Princess Tutu ends up with Prince Mute. ...okay...
Next, Drosselmeyer (yes, he's named after the uncle in "The Nutcracker", and serves as sort of a Greek Chorus-like commentary to the story) reminds us in the final "battle" that if Princess Tutu confesses her love for the Prince, she'll disappear in a flash of light. He also hints heavily that her fate is unconnected to the Prince, and must remain that way in order to save the Prince.
SO WHY THE HELL DID THEY END UP TOGETHER??!! The creators set up such a nice tragic heroine sort of thing (and I like that stuff), and they kept foreshadowing it, but then they totally turned it around and ignored their the build-up.
WHAT THE HELL??!!
So yeah, that's why I'm pissed off at "Princess Tutu." Spectacular setup, and spectacularly disappointing ending. -_-;;
Is it worth watching? ...maybe. Either way, I'mi not watching it again unless I have to. -_-;;; The ending just ruined everything for me.
Is it as good as Utena? HELLS NO. ^_^ If you HAVE watched Princess Tutu and not finished/started Utena yet...WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SMOKING? O_O;; I still maintain Utena as the most glorious anti-fairytale, atypical-mahou shoujo anime there is out there. ^_^ Utena destroyed barriers. Princess Tutu put them back up. >.< *is annoyed*
Yes, I'm ragging on something because I'm pissed. -_-;; *sighs* I better stop before I give myself a heart attack.
End ranty blog entry. -_-;;;

Smashing your dreams: Bokura no Bouken (Kids Alive)
BEGIN SPOILERS
for Princess Tutu from here on.
That doesn't resolve any problems with the fact that Ahiru is still a duck temporarily taking on human form with the help of a pendant. >.< What happens to Ruu-chan/Princess Claire? So she's defeated and just disappears?? ....okay.... >.< That's nice...
END SPOILERS
Just my luck that my beautiful Marth-sama happens to be voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa, one of the seiyuu that I absolutely detest. >.< His voice bugs me. The world must be conspiring against me.

Smashing your dreams: Silence
Just read some Mishima.
Heard something vaguely about how there's a movie about him? (Hontou? O_O;;)...must check this out.
Still feeling vaguely sick with his very graphic description of seppuku. Mmmm...lovely. Blood and guts everywhere. I used to be hungry...now I'm not. ^^;; *big sweatdrop*
Now I'm angsting about my Kingdom Hearts fanfiction. Who ever heard of a fanfiction author angsting along with her characters, eh? O_o;; I thought I was supposed to take great joy in angst. I'm so hosed tonight. I shall have to consult with Amberlee either tonight or tomorrow night on stuff. Yeah...stuff. That is...if I'll ever have the TIME. Hahaha. Time.

Smashing your dreams: Silence
Goddammit, I wish I knew enough Japanese to read him in his original language. Damn, he was a good writer. O_o;; Must read more.
So...yeah.
John at Animenation has said something about why One Piece is so popular...
But at any rate...^^;; Yes, I've gotten addicted to One Piece. O_o;; Weirdness. Dude, if One Piece can even get shoujo fans like me...there's nothing to stop it from taking over the world!
I see domestic companies buying One Piece soon! That's baaaad... -_-;; Really bad. -_-;; No dubbed One Piece please. The Japanese language is great. ^_^ I lurve Luffy's seiyuu. She rocks. ^_^
Okay, I should go to bed. *snore* Got about 5 pages of Remi written! ^_^ Rock! This story's gonna be a long one...let's just hope that I'll still have time for fanfiction in between, ne? ^^;; *sweatdrop*

Smashing your dreams: One Piece Opening
...but he compared it to Dragonball! O_O;; GAH! GAH! One Piece isn't Dragoball! It's got cooler characters! First of all, Luffy isn't DEAD for half the series like Goku is. ^^;;
I almost forgot. ^_^;; Seishirou nearly brained me with my own whopping stick.
*coughs*
Yup folks, it's the birthday of the Sumeragi twins. ^_^ *cuddles Subaru* Umm...Hokuto can sit in a corner and read...Shounen Jump...yeah...I'll go back to cuddling to Subaru. ^_~

Smashing your dreams: Shining Collection (Nittle Grasper)
Otanjobi Omedetou!
Why is it that I always fall asleep during 18.05? Maybe it's because I've already LEARNED THIS SHIT TWICE. >.<
*sigh* Come on, this is an MIT math class. I at least expect some challenge? I would be in a harder class, but the problem is that 18.05 is too easy, and 18.440 is too hard. O_O;; There's nothing in between. -_-;; And because I'm taking 5 classes this term...I'll go the easy route. >.<
I hope I get my Kingdom Hearts fic done for March 10. *prays* I need inspiration for that. Still have to make that sacrifice to the gods of writing. ^^;;
Speaking of writing, does anyone know if Aja has put out the latest "Love Under Will" yet? O_o;; Did I totally miss it? *big sweatdrop*
Okay, going to study 9.14 now. ^_^ Yay, it's a 3-day week for me! w00t! Unfortunately, all this work I've piled up is going to get in the way of playing Smashies...and watching the next couple of episodes I downloaded of One Piece. I'll catch up, don't worry. It'll just be ever so slowly...let me hope that Ed will watch One Piece soon, really like it, and decided to download ALL of it so I can leech off of him. ^_^
I suck your blood.

Smashing your dreams: Silence
Rowr.
Unlocked some Smashies characters. ^_^ Yay! Got Marth and Roy and Jigglypuff. I don't think we have any other characters yet. ^^;; But yeah, I had to go through and get Marth. He's cool! *glomps her bishonen* Roy's pretty sweet too, I guess. ^^;; *glomps other bishonen* Whee!
So yeah, got creamed by Mike Lewis and Phil last night. -_-;; It's obvious they're better than me at this game. Oh well. At least I can decently hold my own against Ray and Brad. If only Brad would stop playing that goddamned Pikachu. >.< And if only I could actually smash something for once. -_-;; Oh well, there's always the "C" stick in versus mode, at any rate. ^_^ Heh heh heh.
Off to class. -_-;; So much homework for 9.14 to do. O_O;; So much reading. I pray that Schneider doesn't give us a quiz today. ;_;

Smashing your dreams: Super Drive (Gravitation)
I just bought the world's most worshipful fighting game. ^_^
HOORAY FOR SMASH BROTHERS MELEE! *dances*
Of course, not all the characters have been unlocked yet...;_; So I can't play as Marth. *sobs* But that's okay. I'm decent with Link...I'll try to get better (I suck >.< *sigh*) and unlock a couple of characters.
*want Marth want Marth*
That's my news of the day. ^^;; I should go catch up on work now. *big sweatdrop*

Smashing your dreams: In the Moonlight (Bad Luck)
I have Smashies. ^_^ Skuld and the rest of Fenway House just bought Smashies. ^_^ SMASHIES! SMASHIES! ^_^ *dances* Hooray for SMASHIES! *dance dance*
no classes today~! Yay! *cheers*
Whee, the house has no heat! ^_^;; This actually really sucks. Poor Skuld is starting to get very cold. This just had to happen at the most inopportune time...when there's a huge snow. *sobs* Greeattt.... -_-;;
I need more One Piece. I only have up to 13...and there's like...80-something out subbed. ;_; NEED ONE PIECE! NEED NEED NEED NEED! I suppose that means I ought to get some sort of fileshare....or *big sigh* get it off mIRC since none of my leechy friends have it. >.< *sobs*
..but...but...I NEED One Piece! O_o;;
There's ash on my Riku costume. I think I'm going to go postal now. O_o;; Ack! Stupid stupid stupid boiler getting ash over everything! INCLUDING MY RIKU COSTUME! *flips out* Now I'll have to hand wash it or something....;_; And we all know how big of a pain that is...-_-;;
*sigh* Maybe it'll go unnoticed...if I just sort of brush most of the ash off...you can't see ... oh, who am I kidding. -_-;; I'll have to hand wash it. Goddammit. Damnit. >.<
Awww, I'm sad. Cocoa and I were going to meet up this Friday, but it looks like she can't make it. ;_; Oh well, some other time then. ^_^
Haven't played DDR in so long. I think I'm going to explode. O_o;; Mayhaps I should break out the soft pads, tape 'em down to the floor...and just dance. ^^;;
Unfortunately, the timing is different for the soft pads than for the arcade pads (I know this because I spent an entire afternoon trying to play on Asphodel's pads and my timing kept getting off. -_-;;; Dammit. So yeah...I guess I should learn both ways of timing it. O_o;; I hope that Anime Boston, when they have their competition, realizes that timing could be off. ^^;; I would hate to dance on soft pads for the DDR tourney there. O_o;; Please let them rent the arcade version...or at least give us hard or semi-hard pads. *prays*

Smashing your dreams: Sleepless Beauty (Nittle Grasper)
Of course, they let us know at like...midnight last night. -_-;; Oh well. *sighs* That means I get a chance to catch up on the work I punted the entire weekend. Maybe I'll get some of my Kingdom Hearts fic written.
>.<
Stupid Fire Alarm. Die. Die. Die. Die. >.<
*sigh* So well, our boiler thingy got worse (really really worse), and Steve opened up the door to the boiler room...and...
The fire alarm went off! Because all this ash and smoke just sort of tumbled out. ^^;; Whee. So yeah, Fire Alarm won't die now, because the stupid alarm company has to come and shut it off. -_-;; And because it's SNOWING LIKE HELL, it'll take them a couple of hours.
We're currently trying to pick the lock to the box thing so we can turn it off, but I lost my pick and my torque-wrench 6 months ago, so I'm no help. -_-;; *sighs*
Well, off to attempt the rest of my homework in this klaxonous clamour... ^_~
Well...what can I say? This is one of the books I absolutely detested reading for AP English. ^_^ Oh well. I bet I'll like it if I go back and read it now. ^^;;

Smashing your dreams: The Fucking Fire Alarm

you are Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.
boring, heavy on symbols, and overly
intelligent and dramatic. the horror, the
horror. ick.
What Famous literary Work Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla
There's ash everywhere in the house.
At first, I thought I was just going crazy...but it's not just me.
It's the boiler room, for some reason, generating more ash than usual. It's spread all over the house. The house is kind of hazy right now, and if you blow your nose you can see black particulates. ^_^;; Pleasant, isn't it?
My hands are perpetually dirty. I've washed them at least five times today. O_o;; And I know I was washing them at least every two hours yesterday. O_o;; Eeeewwww. >.< I hope this stops soon, else a thick layer of ash may settle over EVERYTHING. >.< And that would just be a pain in the ass to get rid off. O_o;; I'd have to vacuum EVERYTHING...
*sighs* Ah, the problems of living in an independently owned and operated house off campus. -_-;;
Really hosed today. Punted the entire farking weekend. ^^;; Oops! Didn't mean to...really!
Brad has some nice DVD rips of "The Two Towers." Sweetass! That reminds me that they have "Lord of the Rings" valentines cards. You know, the ones that all the little kids have to distribute en masse....yeah, needless to say, you know you've undergone a successful merchandising campaign when you're making kiddie valentine cards. ^^;;
Speaking of how wonderful Brad is, he found this wonderfully butchered copy of Bush's State of the Union address...it was absolutely great! They just slashed together a whole bunch of things from different parts of the speech...and it's absolutely great. ^_^ *laughs* This will really offend Republicans and American Patriots. Oh wait, I don't know many of those, so everything will be all right. ^_^ if you want it, just ask me and I'll see if I can send it to you. It's really funny. ^_^

Smashing your dreams: Smashing Blue (Bad Luck)
Lots of anime watching today! ^_^
I was hoping for something anti-fairytale like Utena from all the parallels it was drawing...but no. -_-;; I was not to be satisfied. Oh well. The all-classical soundtrack is nice at least. ^_^ And Mute was pretty cute! ^_^ I am such a sucker for silver-haired guys. Mute was so little-boy cute too...soo...*cuddles* I'll just help myself to a piece of his ass! XD
I ought to get some more "Haibane Renmei." That looks really good. ^_^
So...being unfulfilled with "Princess Tutu," I went all nostaligic and watched a couple of "Gravitation" TV episodes. ^_^ *cheers* I'd forgotten how much I loved that show. That show rules! ^_^ Nevermind the shounen-ai and the hot-as-all-hell-golden-eyed-glaringly-gay-Yuki *heart heart heart*, the music rules! *sings along to 'The Rage Beat'*
I think the best scenes in that series were at the end of episode 2 when Yuki and Shuichi kiss...and you see their silhouettes fall to the floor...and in episode 9 when Yuki admits to all the press that he and Shuichi are lovers. ^_^ *heart heart heart*
Yes, shounen-ai fuels this little heart of mine. *dreamy sigh* I wish there were more shounen-ai titles made into anime. ^_^
I think I'm going to go and glomp Shuichi and Yuki now. They are just too cute! *heart*

Smashing your dreams: The Rage Beat (Bad Luck/Kotani Kinya)
First of all, finished "Princess Tutu." -_-;; Very childish. Had some Utena elements, but it's obvious from the way the anime was structured and told that it's still aimed at kids. ;_; Awww. Oh well, I stil enjoyed it, even though it was fairytale-ish.
Dude...
I beat Max 300 on trick today. w00t!
I'm so depressed. ;_; I used to at least get ONE strike...
I didn't even get a spare today. I suck. I suck. ;_;
I guess bowling just isn't one of my things. I'll stick to DDR, I think. ^^;;

Smashing your dreams: Two Days Ago (DJ K.K.)
Went bowling, not candlepin, but full ten pin. God, I suck. I really really really suck. -_-;; I didn't even break 50 total. *sobs*
Why can't I write?
Where are the gods of writing when I am sitting here in an empty library at school wanting to write?
Hello? Perhaps it is time for my annual tithing. What shall I burn as a sacrifice? Something that would satisfy them...I suppose. -_-;; Perhaps I shall offer up one of my own (better) works to them, and perhaps they shall be satisfied.
I wonder if they want the Kingdom Hearts fic I'm writing...or perhaps they want Remi? O_o;; That might just be what they require in order for me to get my inspiration back. *big sweatdrop*
Still can't pass Max 300 on trick. I can get to the very end with my meter half way...and it's just that last part where I have to move so fast...and I'm so totally exhausted...and I can't do it anymore. Dammit. >.< Just...dammit.
Will try other really hard songs besides Matsuri Japan (perhaps Orion.78 Civilization Mix, or Paranoia Eternal)...in an effort to get better. -_-;;
But on bright side, doing Abyss and especially Sobakasu did impress a lot of newbies over at the game room. Ah, the joys of being on campus for the weekend. (besides the bitter cold of Boston. >.<)
At any rate...

Smashing your dreams: Independent+ (Hamasaki Ayumi)
Why can't I write?
it's a long weekend. Monday is Sanity Day. It means I'm not supposed to kill myself on Monday, because MIT has it given it us so that we stay sane. O_o;; Or insane, as the case may frequently be. w00t for long weekends. And lots of homework. -_-;;
Thanks to Chiko! She got me the newest Ayumi Hamasaki album, Rainbow. ^_^ It's fully of pretty music! Yay! *cheers*
On another note...I passed my first nine-foot song last night! *is very happy* Jumaanee took me through "Matsuri Japan." Last night. ^_^ And then I somehow managed to last longer than him on Max 300 on trick. O_o;; Go figure I guess. *shrugs*
Watched "Haibane Renmei" and "Princess Tutu" last night at Anime Club. ^_^ They are both very cool! ^_^ *is happy* I want to watch more of them! ^_^ Yay!
Off to work soon. Gonna be there from 2:30-6pm. O_o;; Urgh. *twitch twitch*

Smashing your dreams: We Wish (Ayumi Hamasaki)
Okay, unless I am really farking drunk I will never fail "Sobakasu" on maniac again! *cheers* ^_^ Now I know I can read the turns in that for sure. ^_^ *is happy*
To set next realistic (or not) goal for DDR...
and this all has to be accomplished before Anime Boston. Let's hope I can actually do it. *pray*
So besides my writing teacher being a total, stupid asshole yesterday, the rest of the day didn't go so badly.
So our paper has come out, the one for the stuff that I have been working on, and it has been submitted to the Cognitive Science Society for publication. ^_^ Yay! Coolness! Skuld has her name on an academic paper! *cheers*
Next, I went to the Transgender Colloquim that our Comparative Media Sciences department was hosting, and that was very interesting. ^_^ Especially hearing Stephen Whittle and Christopher Lee (not the Christopher Lee) talk. ^_^ It was quite cool, and made me very happy.
After that, I stopped by the Anime Club's newsletter mailing get-together thing...and my CLAMP article is in there! ^_^ *happiness*
Umm...after that, I went home, finished up my 18.05 homework, and spent the rest of the night thinking of appropriate male names for me. O_o;; I don't think I'd like my guy name very much, not that I like my real name very much either.
Everyone decided that "Quentin" wouldn't be bad, and neither would "Brad" or "Aiden." O_o;; I don't like any of them. -_-;; I mean, I stole Brad's name, then I'd feel weird. ^_^;; I do like "Doug" though...I can't explain why...but Big Hentai Mike kept telling me I don't look like a Doug because I'm too thin and not buff enough. -_-;;
Well, we'll see in a couple of years, at any rate. ^_^ I think I've also decided to cut my hair. Unfortunately, because I'm still cosplaying Young Auron at Anime Boston, I think I will have to keep my hair long until then. ^^;; But for the summer, I'm so chopping my hair off. (It is way too hot to be having long hair in the summer...especially in both Boston and China.) It'll be boy short (so I guess I'm going look all Asian butch...^^;;), and probably dyed some strange shade of blue or green. Definitely blue, because I'm dead set on cosplay Legato Bluesummers for Otakon. ^_^
But I ramble. Well, will go to Anime Club tonight for Princess Tutu. ^_^ It better be all screwed up like the reviews claim! ^_^

Smashing your dreams: Silence
...umm...to somehow pass Max 300 on trick (it's not a hard 8, except that it goes SO FAST! >.<), get enough stamina to actually do a 9-foot (on the list are Break Down and Drop Out)...and then finally, I suppose, pass Tsugaru (I can't do it! I know it! If only my legs wouldn't die out on me! ;_;) and Exotic Ethnic (got to get that turning thing down)!
You know what I hate?
Amberlee warned me against this...*sighs* My writing teacher likes me. She really wants to improve my writing. Unfortunately, I don't care much for her at all. >.< *is pissed*
First of all she asks me my writing background, and well, I haven't really taken a formal writing class...so I tell her that I've been writing short stories on and off since seventh grade, and that I only started seriously writing fanfiction the beginning of last year.
Right after that, she tells me not to write fanfiction anymore, because "I'm better than that." *bangs head against wall* NO! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! I wish I had a copy of "Sakura and Snow" that I could wave in front of her face. Fanfiction is not crap. The majority of it may be, but DON'T TELL ME NOT TO WRITE FANFICTION BECAUSE YOU THINK IT'S WORTHLESS.
She keeps making the analogy, "Why would you eat junk food if you can eat real, nutritious food?"
Ain't gonna happen. I don't care. I'm still writing my fanfiction along with my original fiction. And if you like my original fiction, you'd better bet that my fanfiction is just as good. *very pissed*
Next of all, she asked why I didn't write a girl. BECAUSE I DON'T IDENTIFY WITH GIRLS! >.< I WRITE WHATEVER CHARACTERS I WANT TO. She wants me to make Remi into an Asian girl.
WHY?? So I can write about myself? No way in hell. Remi is a boy. He's even a gay boy. And I'm going to keep it that way. >.< No one else is going to tell my Remi what gender, what race, what the hell he's going to be and who he's going to love, dammit! >.<
I can't change a character after I've written him, she should know that. -_-;; *sighs*
But the writing professor still likes me somehow. She likes my ideas and says, "Oh, don't worry, I'll give you a good grade." As if saying that at the very beginning of term didn't raise any other issues. -_-;;
So it's before my first class in the morning, and I'm already pissed off beyond belief. *sighs* The only reason I'm taking this class is because I need deadlines to get my original fiction out. I have original fiction in my head. I need to get it written, which means that I need to have a deadline in order to actually get it done. else it would never get down on paper. -_-;; That's the only reason I'm taking this class, and that's what I'm going to tell myself. As long as I can somehow keep in Prof. Cooney's good graces, I'll just write my shit and get my credit and my grade.
Unfortunately, I'm a little hesistant with what these so-called "good graces" might mean. I will not change my character for her pleasure. I will not change plot or storylines for her pleasure. Anything else is fair game.
I think this day is really going to suck. Really really going to suck.

Smashing your dreams: Silence
You know what I absolutely despise?
I HATE it when teachers love you, and you just hate their fucking guts. >.<
First of all, fanfiction is not junk food. Not the stuff I read, not the stuff I write. Second of all, don't tell me what to do and what not to do. Especially when it comes to my fanfiction. She tells me to give my fanfiction up.
Why does math always put me to sleep?
Now I'm barely living off 5.5 hours. =_=;; *sighs* Okay, will stop bitching and moaning for the sake of your sanity.
Since I like to keep in touch with movies...
As for "Chicago," I've been planning to see it. Will get around to it someday. Ought to watch "Two Towers" again too. ^_^ It got nominated again! Rock! It better win! "Two Towers" was awesome, but I suspect that they may be saving the Best Picture Oscar for the last movie. So far away!
"Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi/Spirited Away" got nominated for Best Animated Picture. Out of the rest of the nominees..."Spirited Away" had better get the award. ^_^ Or I'll throw a fit. >.<
"Hero" got nominated for Best Foreign Language film...and while I have yet to see it...I've heard that it is VERY good. I'll need to search for it online. I'll remind myself of that. ^^;; Heard the ending is not so great, but the rest of the movie is just plain awesome. ^_^ w00t!
I'm really surprised that "Two Towers" only got nominated for 6 Oscars. O_o;; Holy shit. That's not nearly as many as "Fellowship," and I think "Two Towers" was better and more entertaining. ^^;; I bet Peter Jackson is just saving all the big guns for last though. ^_^ Heh heh. It had better win Best Special Effects this year...because Helm's Deep was just plain FUCKING AMAZING. It'll be even cooler in "Return of the King," but...still. "Two Towers" definitely deserves the cake this year (again) for Visual Effects. Come on, the other contenders are "Attack of the Clones" *laughs* and "Spider-Man." And when you compare those movies to the Battle of Helm's Deep...there's just no comparison. TTT just blows them out of the water. ^_^ Especially the scene where Gandalf (the Sparkly White!) charges down the hill with the rest of the Rohirrim...and the sun is rising behind them...
*melts into a puddle of drool* O_o;; There are no words I can find to describe the perfect splendour and glory of that part right there. ^_^ It would take me a whole paragraph to explain, and even then it would be inadequate.
Can you tell I'm a die-hard Tolkien fan? ^_^;; *sweatdrop* And the movies are great. ^_^ I can't wait for TTT to come out on DVD. I hope they have an extended edition just like the first one! Extra scenes! w00t!

Smashing your dreams: Minority (Green Day)
Probably because it's a lecture at 10am. =_=;; Okay, so I know that I shouldn't be bitching about 10am lectures, because that was around when I usually had lunch in high school. But still...O_o;; That was when my schedule wasn't so shifted, I had less work, more time, and more sleep. Like...8 hours.
...
Someone tell me why the hell "The Gangs of New York" got a nomination? It wasn't very good. Very violent, yes...made for an Oscar...yes...but did not execute itself very well. >.< What the hell? Why is it up there?
Yay! Went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory with Brad last night. ^_^ Yum. Had some Bistro Shrimp Pasta and Tiramisu for dessert. *yum yum*
Destra also came over to give me yummy cupcakes and candles that I got to blow out. ^_^ Yay! *huggles Destra*
So my birthday was all good and fun. ^_^ *grins*
Read my story in front of my writing class today. I was really nervous, because I have a little bit of a speech impediment. ^^;; It didn't show too much, thank god. *phew*
So yeah, the few times I glanced up from my words, Prof. Cooney was staring at me with her mouth open. O_o;; I'm not sure whether or not that's a good sign. -_-;; She says she wants to talk to me in her office hours on Thursday morning. *big sweatdrop* Anooo.....^^;;
So yeah, it looks like I'll be turning my little writing piece into a fully-fledged story. ^_^ Yay. Remi was really growing on me there too. Though if I wanted to write everything I needed about him...I think I'd have a pretty LONG short story. ^^;; *sweatdrop*
Any rate, didn't do much work last night, so going home right now to get caught up. ^_^ Ja ne!

Smashing your dreams: Silence
Thanks to everyone who has wished me a Happy Birthday.
Being 20 is weird. ^_^;; It's weird thinking of myself as 20...O_o;; I don't feel any older, and yet I feel like I've cleared some big hill. ^^;; Oh well, that remains to be seen when I clear the 30 or 40 hill. *laughs*
So today was fairly normal. Just a regular day. No quiz in 9.14, thank god...but that means that I have to study extra hard between now and Wednesday because now I KNOW I'll have a quiz on Wednesday. ^_^
I knew most of what was going on in 9.14 today, which is cool. ^_^ I didn't get confused, and Jerry didn't say anything that was completely over my head. ^_^ *feels happy* I feel good about that. ^_^ I guess birthdays are good for something, I guess.
Just finished reading Paradise Kiss 4. ^_^ I love that manga! Not normally the type of manga that I read...but I just adore ParaKiss. ^_^ It's so awesome! Definitely shoujo. Destra might like it, but I don't think Ali-chan will. She should try it anyways. ^^;;
They did some explaining on Isabella's backstory, though we still don't find out his/her given name. Well, her last name is Yamamoto, at any rate. And it goes through this cute little bit where George gives him his first dress. It's so adorable! ^_^ I love Isabella. ^_^ *sighs* He/She is such a sweetheart, so kind and mothering. I wish I knew someone that would sort of mother over me like that. ^_^ *dreamy smile*
I guess I can really identify with those who are transgendered. ^_^;; *sweatdrop* *cough* Yeah.
So well, it's been a great birthday! ^_^

Smashing your dreams: Wind (Akeboshi - Naruto Ending)
(Oh, and Cocoa-san...are you the same Cocoa of Tokyo-tower.org? Just wondering. ^^;;)
It's my birthday! Yay! ^_^
Skuld is 20 now. ^_^ Weirdness. O_o;; No longer a simple teenager. Feels weird.
Went to Harvard Square to celebrate with Ali-chan, Destra and Avatrix. Good times. He picked up the tab, so we all have to thank him for that. ^_^ Arigatou gozaimasu! ^_^
Destra got me the 4th volume of Paradise Kiss, a manga I absolutely adore. ^_^ Yes, there is still shoujo in my mostly Naruto/One Piece diet. ^_^ *grins* And I bought myself a collection of bootlet X postcards and the Angelique Trois Tarot. *drools all over self* Okay, so it was 30 bucks. But watch me care. ^_^ It's the Angelique tarot! I don't care if it's only the major arcana either. ^_^ It's cool! ^_^ *cheers*
Finished my 18.05 homework. Total no-brainer. I guess I shouldn't say that, because now I know they're going to get harder. ^^;;
At any rate, I'm 20 now. O_o;; Still weirded out by that. ^^;;
