Is he or isn't he?
Monday, February 28, 2005
While reading Tertia's post regarding husband's role in
fatherhood, the fact whether one helps out with a new born baby or not, prompted me to think of John.
When JE was born five years ago, John was actually one who taught me how to change diapers, burp the baby, etc. He helped out taking care of his nephew and niece, so he was a pro with the baby thing. Both births he took two weeks off to help me out to go through the first tough part. Not that it gets easier after that. He was the one who always got up whenever the baby cried in the middle of the night. All I had to do was laid in bed and lifted up my shirt. :) He also takes over the child-caring duties on weekend and his day-offs, and lets me sleep in, even though he really needs the extra sleep himself. (He gets up at 5am on weekday to go to work.)
He does all the garden duties. I'm not just talking about mowing the lawn. He plants flowers also. He also spent a weekend to put pavers down in the yard with the help of a friend. He does everything I ask him to. Sometimes it might take a while, but he gets them done. During the first few years of our marriage, he did all the cookings. I didn't start cooking full time until this year. Yes, I'm spoiled.
So he is definetely a Paul, actually he's a Paul+. (if you read Tertis's post, you know what I'm talking about) I feel extremely lucky to have found you. Thank you John.

I missed the Academy Awards tonight. If you saw it, let me know how Chris Rock did as the host, please?
Since I missed the award, I can only read it on paper. I can't believe Johnny Depp showed up, he whom never goes to any award shows. And Hilary Swank's dress! Hot damn!

Four month already?
Thursday, February 24, 2005
The bunny turned four-month on Tuesday, she had her 4-month check-up today, and got 4 more shots. (hmm, a lot of 4s going on here.) Poor bunny. Two months ago when she got her shots, she didn't have any reactions to them. So hopefully this time she doesn't either, cross my fingers and knock on wood.
She weighs 13 lbs and 13 oz, which is double of her birth weight, and is 25" long. She's one slender girl. I think she is going to be tall. (like her mom? :)
And I was so terrible that I have totally forgot to bring any diapers. She just switched from size 1 to size 2 diaper, and I took out all the size 1 out yesterday and totally forgot to re-stock the diaper bag. Of course she did her thing in the doctor's office. I was so embrassed.

I'm nice?
Wednesday, February 23, 2005
I am 36% Asshole/Bitch. I may think I am an asshole or a bitch, but the truth is I am a good person at heart. Yeah sure, I can have a mean streak in me, but most of the people I meet like me.

Hmm, Southern BBQ
Tuesday, February 22, 2005
Yesterday the supposed storm didn't come, which was good for us, since we had plans to meet Xinh and Natey for a late lunch. Around noon, after dropping off our kids at my parents (yay
for grand-parents who babysit :), we headed to Johnny Rebs in Long Beach.
Xinh has planned this three weeks ago. It was good to plan events ahead of time, especailly for us kiddie parents. But that also means I have been
drooling over the fact I'm going to have some extremely yummy southern BBQ for three weeks.. I had sweet potato fries for the first time. And it was very, very yummy. Same
goes for the food. Definetely going back there again.
After lunch we all headed back to our home. We just sat around in our new dinning table and chatted away. Next thing we knew it was almost 6pm and Natey needed to go
home to call his family. But I don't think he made it. As soon as we got on 210, all the cars were going around 10 MPH. Anyway, Natey is really cool guy. Definetely will
like to include him in all our outtings. John said he's the new Drew. (in-joke) Heh.
We went to Best Buy to pick up 2 gifts for Thomas and Casey (John's nephew and niece) in Australia. I don't want to say what the gifts are, just in case they read my blog. Not likely, but just in case. Afterwards we went to my parents to pick up the kiddies. I ended up staying to eat some of my mom's yummy dinner. :)

Rainy Day
Friday, February 18, 2005
So here I am, on this rainy morning. The bunny is still asleep. She went to sleep last night around 6:30pm. I was a bit worried earlier, since she slept this long. Usually she only sleeps 12 hours. I went to check on her, she seemed content and asleep. John took the little man to play golf with Drew and his friend. Yes, they still ventured out even though it's raining. Boys.
I have nothing better to do but watching news. All they talk about is rain, rain, and more rain. Bah!
When they get home, we are off to the Australia Consulate to apply for the bunny to be an Australian from decent. Both my kids and hubby are dual citizens. All thanks to Australia's new law change about 5 years, which allow Aussie to have dual citizenship. I think it's totally cool.
eta: The consulate trip was a complete waste of time. Apparently they no longer accept application in person, everything has to be sent in to the DC consulate. Damn it! That's another $ 40 going toward postage. That wasn't what your fucking website said. I was miffed. Luckily there was no traffic even though we were driving in heavy rain, otherwise I would have been totally pissed off.

It tastes so good
Wednesday, February 16, 2005
I have not any coke for God knows how long. Today I caved in the craving and got some from McD. I am not particularily fond of McD, but it was right there and I didn't feel like driving another 10 mins to my favorite fast food restaurant to get coke. And coke is coke.
Oh man, it was good. I have forgotten how good coke tastes. That will satisfy my craving for another six months.

This morning I sent the little man to school with Valentines day cards and Kiss Chocolate for the whole
class. And he came home with cards that were given to him by the rest of the class and more candies.
Luckily he isn't big on candies. But chocolate? That is another story. Like Mom, like son. :) It was the second V-day he spent at school. He was pretty excited when he got home, showing me all the cards, and he ate way too much chocolate this evening.

Monday, February 14, 2005
So I watched the Grammy last night, which I have never done before. But I felt asleep half an hour before the show was finished. So happy Green Day won. If you haven't bought the CD, you really should. And if you don't like Green Day, you are just bleh.
Went to Homestyle Cafe in Ontario for breaky yesterday. It truely was one of the greatest place to have breaky. Food was excellent, price was totally inexpensive, and the portion was hugh. Totally worth the half and hour drive and half and hour wait. The place was PACKED. Should really have gone there earlier. Going back there again this Saturday, this time taking my parents with us. The pancake is larger than the plate. So good. We couldn't finish the food. And with that much breakfast we had, that was the only meal we had yesterday. Didn't feel hungry at all after that. I had the left over this morning, tatsted equally good.
Billy Zane was in Charmed last night. hmmhmmhmm. So very yummy.
Anyway, Happy Vanlentines Day, if you are into this holiday. Personally I despite V-day. Everything is over-priced. You can buy the same item two weeks later for half the price. V-day is totally playing on women's insecurity. They need that reassurance from men, with them buying flowers, chocolate, and jewery to show their love. And if you have to show love on a special holiday, then that love doesn't mean jack in my book.

In lieu of Valentine's day, here is a survey I found on-line regarding worst and best dating cities in America.
The worst dating city is Phoenix. The best is Atlanta.
I think V-day is invented by Hallmark and chocolate companies. HAH. :)

It seems only yesterday that I was telling John that Amber is flapping around in her layettes. Now she has
outgrown her 3-month clothes already. Time flies by so fast and she is growing up too fast for
me already. Same for JE, I am still grasping the fact the little man is going to kinder this Sept!
Too much, too much.
Anyway, it is official! I(we) have decided that I am going to be a full-time mommy. It is time to send in
that resignation letter. We think it will be a lot easier for the kids, especially that JE will start kinder.
If I were to go to work, who will pick him up? So the decision is made and I'm relieved.
Yesterday at John's work, his boss had a "talk" with him, behind closed door. It is all good news, but I don't want
to say it yet. Will let you all know when it's official.
So I sent JE to school in the Chinese traditional outfit today, miuns the cap. Here is the picture again.

Happy Chinese New Year.

PS: I received a big, fat check yesterday from work for Chinese New Year. Now I feel guilty (just a lil bit :), consider I'm going to quit.

We met up with Xinh, Susan & Dave, and Drew & his girlfriend Amanda for brunch at Marina Del Rey. We haven't seen each other (except Xinh) since last Sept.
After brunch we went to a Starbucks to chat some more, then parted our separate ways.
It was fun and good to catch up with them.
