It is official, I will be on maternity leave starting Friday until God knows when. Yay. The best part about it is I get to sleep in, until the baby arrives that is. I figure she will arrive early, I can feel it. I just hope my OB is right about the gender. Otherwise it would have been totally sucked that I have to return/exchange all the girl’s clothes.

In mid-December, the extended version of The Lord of the Ring: TROFTK will be released, with 50 minutes of new footage.
Among the restored scenes: The scouring of the Shire, where we learn the fate of Saruman, the evil white wizard played by Christopher Lee, who was MIA from King after being deposed at the conclusion of The Two Towers; a subplot on the emerging romance between Faramir and Eowyn; Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen confronting the Mouth of Sauron at the Black Gates; and a cameo by Jackson as a pirate who is felled by one of Legolas' stray arrows. I think I will buy it, it will be interesting to see all the footages, especially the part between Faramir and Eowyn.

Last night we went to Jim and Prue’s to watch Aussie Rules' (footy) grand final. It was between Brisbane and Port Adelaide. Brisbane has won three in the row, they were hoping to win the 4th title, as there was only one other team has done it before.

We ordered some really yummy pizza from pizza hut and watched the pre-game shows. All I can say is it totally sucked! It sucked the year before, it sucked the year before that, and so forth. The actual game didn’t start almost 9:30pm. The game was bloody brilliant. It was really close until the 3rd quarter, when Port started to score left and right and totally pulled away from the game. Needless to say Port won the premiership, their first.

Both Jim and John were ruling for Brisbane, for some reasons Aussies who come from Victoria, hate South Australian, where Port is at. Personally I have no preference. They were a bit disappointed with the result, but Port played really well. They totally deserved the win. By the time the game was finished, it was almost mid-night, I can’t believe I actually watched it until the end for the first time ever.

I am not big on sports, but I watch footy anytime. It is so much better and more exciting than American football. It is a non-stop, action filled game.

Now I am off to bed, as it is another late night for me. *yawn*

Now I wish I had applied to start my maternity leave next Monday, instead of on Oct 1st. I feel so drained. An extra four days. Can I tough it out? I will find out soon enough.

Some good news, two of my favorite cousins from mid-west and east coast are coming here in mid-Nov. Yay. Although they both will only be here for the Nov long weekend, I am very excited and can't wait to see them.

Someone at church is trying to throw me a baby-shower, inviting one of the fellowship groups. I am just so not interested in it. I know maybe a couple of people in that group. If I really want a shower, I will invite people I know. Thank you, but no thank you. Luckily I have the city exam this Saturday afternoon. Even though the exam will probably finish around 4ish, most likely I will make it to the shower on time. But it is a good excuse to use and I wiggled out the party. Heh.

What is the fuck wrong with people who want to touch a pregnant woman’s belly? Most of the time they just do it without asking for permission.

Can I touch your body parts too? Are you going to sue me afterwards? It is the same logic. If you don’t like to be touched by some random strangers, why do you think I like to be touched by you? Get your filthy hands away from me people.

Britney Spears married her fiance Kevin Federline over the weekend. Geez, a mega rich singer marries her back-up dancer. It sounds so familiar. *smirk* I give them six months.

So I went to yet another OB check-up yesterday. My OB told me that the baby's head is in position and ready to launch. HAH, his exact word. :) Joy, joy, sleepless nights.

Weather here is really strange; it is totally cloudy and gloomy right now. I look out my window, I can¡¦t see shit. It is mostly smog probably.

This afternoon I have yet another OB appointment, so I decided to drive in. BIG MISTAKE. Traffic was Horrible. Why? Why? It is Friday. Why is everyone going to work? It took me an hour, I made it to work with three minutes to spare. Oye.

We saw "Cellular" last night. Actually it is not a too bad of a movie. But the word "shit" is just a little over-used; I heard it at least 100 times in the movie.

John is going for his US Citizenship interview next Friday. It should be a piece of cake for him. He applied it in Feb, according to INS, or whatever they are calling themselves these days, it usually takes one to one and half years to receive an interview. So we were both really surprised when he got one this early. He is just really happy that he gets to vote. Hopefully he can make it for this election.

I am off to get some breaky now. Happy Friday.

Why is it here in Los Angeles, the weather is nice and cool on a weekday, but as soon as the weekend hits, it is scroching hot?

It so does not matter if it is hot or not on a weekday, since I stay in an air-conditioned office all day long. I bet this Saturday will be like this, now we have decided to hit the fairground.

Bleh.

Just checked out our Netflix’ queue, holy smoke (do people still use these words?:) there are 144 movies there. Granted six of them are movies have not been released, and half of them are foreign films, but still. I wonder how long it will take us to finish watching all those movies. I bet more will be added later on. No matter.

We have been with them for more than a year now. Whoever thought of the netflix idea is a genius. There is no lining up, hence saving on gas money; don’t have to fight with others to get the new releases; read reviews before renting; they are so much cheaper than Blockbuster. Best of all is that there are a lot of foreign films one can rent. And majority of the time one can receive the disk within one day of them sending it out. If you can spare $ 20 each month, I highly recommend it. Ok, I am done saying good things about Netflix for now.

If you have not noticed, it is Friday, Friday. I think we are going out to dinner with Jim and Prue and their cutie pie daughter Alexandar. We were supposed to meet them last Friday, but they had to babysit their niece.

L.A. County Fair started today. Opening day is $ 1 admission. I believe Xinh is going to brace the crowd with a friend of hers. She is going with us again on the 18th. We usually go to the Orange County fair, but we missed it this year. It should be fun. I think I am just going to visit all the food vendors. Heh.

We are doing a re-fi on our condo right now. Our loan person/officer (Tammy) is going to combine our first and second mortgage with a lower interest rate. Yay, money will be saved. It is the second time this year she has helped us out. We didn’t even ask for it, she just called us, because she found a lender with a lower interest rate. She is so great. We didn’t pay a penny for all the re-fis. (Note to Amber: If you are interested in it, I can recommend T. to you.)

Some pregnancy news: I have about six weeks to go. Six weeks I tell you. Although this is my second child, I feel extremely anxious, more nervous, and even a bit scared than the first time around. Maybe because I know what is going to happen in the delivery room? Or maybe because both of my cousins who had babies earlier this year all had complications during deliveries? I am not going to think about it. (Note to myself: DO NOT THINK ABOUT IT. Just go with the flow.)

I think I have bought too many baby girl outfits. No, no, let me rephrase that, I KNOW I have bought too many. But I CAN NOT RESIST! They are just so damn cute. It is an addiction I tell you. Every time I go to the mall, I have to buy at least one. John was right, I am going to bankrupt us. HA!

Thank god for some kick ass return policy from the Gap and Gymboree. Hehe.

Boy, the weekend was so bloody hot, we mainly stayed in door. Yay for a/c.

Friday was basically running around to the different appointments. I had every intention of sending my parents to LAX with John. But in the middle of our breakfast, my OB called, wanting me to come in around 10 am instead of 11:30 am, because he had an emergency surgery to be performed around noon. So John sent my parents off by himself, and I went to the OB app for a routine check-up. Both of us were done around the same time, we met up at home and went to Lowe’s to return some extra pavers and got a BBQ and a couple of plants for the yard. After lunch, John drove me to the dentist for a cleaning job; then haircut for both JE and I.

Saturday I got up around 11ish. (thank you John for getting up so early for JE:). We basically bummed around the house, played some video/PC games, then off to my parents to check up their house and bought goodies for the BBQ. We didn’t get to eat them until Sunday night. It was really, really yummy.

Monday we didn’t leave the house until after 4pm. JE didn’t even have a nap and he survived. After checking up my parents’ house (we are going to be doing this a lot in the next couple of weeks). We went to Marshall’s and I got 2 outfits. The whole time I was shopping, John and JE were sitting around playing gameboy, boys and their games. Heh

And somewhere during the weekend, we got a new printer. I forgot which date, my memory has deteriorated as the pregnancy progresses. We had no intention of buying one when we went into Best Buy, just wanted to get some inkjet. But there was a printer there selling for $ 60 after rebate. So we got it.

So that was my 4-day long weekend. As you can see we didn’t do much, but it was really relaxing and fully rested.

Note: Meant to put this entry up yesterday, but was procrasnating.

We went to see “Hero” last night, Jet Li was in it, among some other Chinese movie stars. John really liked it, but I think it was all right. Because I have seen a lot of these kind of movies in my time (being Chinese and all:), so I was a bit disappointed. But I still gave it a 4 star for the story line, I was bawling my eyes out half of the time after all.

One of the trailers they showed was “The Grudge”, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. It’s based on the Japanese version of “Ju-on: The Grudge”. And Asians make kick ass, make you pee in your pants horror movies. The trailer has a lot of Asian influences as well, which means it will be very, very scary.

Woohoo, a 4-day long weekend is coming. Monday is the official labor day holiday, and I am also off on Friday. But it will be devoted to appointments.

First we are sending my parents off to China, then it is my OB app (I'm seeing him every two weeks now). In the afternoon, I have a dental app to clean my teeth; then a hair cut for JE and I. In the evening, we are possibily seeing Jim and Prue for dinner.

All I need to do is tough out for one more day, then I will have the whole weekend to rest. Man the last trimester is so hard. I feel tired allllll the time. And it doesn't help when I am having a nap during lunch time, someone calls me to wake up me. You hear that Mom? :)

We are going to IKEA later to return something I bought a while ago. Then we are off to see Hero. I always like a good martial arts movie.
