A doggie?
Saturday, May 28, 2005
| You Were Actually Born Under: | No worries, you're not really pig-like in your personality.
(Though you have been known to have a healthy appetite!)
You are highly intelligent - forever studying and gaining knowledge.
You have a heart of gold and you are appreciated by many.
You are most compatible with a Rabbit or Goat. | | You Should Have Been Born Under: |
You are totally loyal, faithful, and honest.
However, you don't trust others to be as ethical as you are!
Straight forward and direct, you really aren't one for small talk.
You are a great listener - and an agreeable companion when you're in a good mood!
You are most compatible with a Tiger or Horse. |
My gosh, they have it down for me as a doggie. John was LOL when I read to him about the dog section. Heh

Friday Five (from Xinh)
Friday, May 27, 2005
1. What was your favorite breakfast cereal when you were a kid?
I'm not big on cereals. Not when I was a kid, not now.
2. What is the best toy/prize you ever got in a box of cereal or because of sending in UPC’s?
Since I'm not big on cereal, I don't care about those things.
3. How do you take your eggs (scrambled, over easy, egg beaters)?
Scrambeled, with ham and mushroom and over medium.
4. What is your favorite breakfast meat (bacon, ham, sausage)?
Ham. I used to like bacon, but not anymore.
5. What is your favorite spot (local or chain restaurant) for breakfast and where is it located?
We used to go to this place in Monrovia, called Monrovian. Now it's Homestyle cafe in Ontario. They only serves breakfast, open from 5am-1pm. Even though it's about 20-30 mins drive from us. It's totally worth it. You probably noticed that John and I mentioned it number of times.
PS: I was going to suggest to Xinh to have breakfast there on Monday, before we head out to the fair. But I realize they are closed on Monday. Bummer.

Not much
Monday, May 23, 2005
I had planned a dinner/game night for the past Saturday with the usual gang, but one of the couples had to cancle. So I decided to postpone it until after our trip from Australia. July maybe?
We went to JE's friend's 3-yr birthday party instead. It was sooooo hot on Saturday. No freeze. Even sitting under the shades and umbrella, it was still hot. I think I drank about 5 bottles of water that afternoon. JE had a blast though.
We dropped JE at his grandparents' and called D and A. When I told them the party was cancled, they still wanted to come after our birthday party, but minus the dinner part. They arrived after 9, we started to play Uno right now, didn't stop until past 2 am. John ended losing with a scored well over 500 points, I wasn't too far behind. Both D and A didn't even break 200 pts. It was fun, but also very tiring. Since we spent whole afternoon baking under ths sun.
Sunday, you knew already, if you read Xinh's blog. We took her out for her birthday lunch at Outback and gave her a lil birthday gift.
Talking about birthday, JE's birthday is coming up in three weeks. His actual birthday party will be on my birthday, since my birthday is a day after his. It seems like there are a million things to do, and nothing has accomplished. But I know it isn't true. I have bought all the party supplies and got all the games worked out. Everyone has RSVPed except two families. All it's left to do is to get the last minute food supply and bake the Pirate Ship cake on Friday. Not to mention I have to pack for all of us sometime between now and his birthday party. Just wish the time will go a little faster and June will actually arrive, so I can start packing. I can pack now, since it will be winter clothes. But I don't feel like it. And I don't want open suitcases lying around everywhere. Grrrr.

Saturday already
Saturday, May 21, 2005
As you can see by the time, it's Saturday morning, and I CAN'T SLEEPT! I'm sure I can once my head hit the pillow, but my body refuses to go there.
I'm a totaly night person. I can accomplish more at night, especailly when everyone goes to sleep, when the house is nice and quiet.
Like Prism I got a hair cut today yesterday too, and got highlights put in. It turned out rather nicely. I love it. No, no pictures. Just hope after a night of sleep, eventually, I can do the same as the hairdresser did. I also had the intention of getting a manicure and pedicure, but after spending 2 hours in the salon. That idea went out of door. Instead I sorta did them myself and put nail polish on my toes.
Now I'm actually getting sleepy. So I'm going to hit the sack.
PS: As much as I love my husband, it's really annoying that he spends every waking moment playing his new game.

We went to JE's Kindergarden's "Open House Night" tonight. I thought we would have a chance to check out his classrooms and see who are the kinder teachers are. But nope, it was basically a display of works all the students did. So after a while, JE got bored and wanted to play in the playground instead.
He had a good time going up and down on the slides. At one time, a cute girlie was following him around and going on the same slide(s) as he was. "Trouble" has started already. HAH.
So we were sitting there, watching JE and other kids play. There were a few "older" kids, maybe about 2-3 yrs older than JE, they kept climbing up the slides. Guess what happened? One of the kids slid and felt on his face, and immediately got a bloddy nose. One of the women there was nice enough to help him up and took him to the sideline. Next thing I knew, this woman (we will call her B) came charging up and started to scream at the woman who helped her son up:"Who did it? Who did it? Who pushed him? Why didn't you watch your kids?" First I was sorta confused, like WTF? Then I realized she was accusing the woman's son pushed her son off the slide. Hello woman? I don't tolerate bitchness, especailly you were at wrong. Just because you had a louder voice, didn't mean you were automatically right. First of all, you were nowhere near your own son and watching him; second, you had no idea what happened, so don't go around pointing fingers. Bitch! So me, surprisely in a very calm voice. Yes, I was very surprised myself that I didn't scream right back at her. Told her that no one pushed her son. He was climbing up the slide instead of sliding down like the way he should play and he slid and fell.
Well, bitch. Who looks really stupid now? I guess at that point she realized she was at wrong, instead of keep screaming, she thanked me telling her what happened. Well, duh. Maybe instead of screaming on top of your lungs and blaming others, that was what you should have asked in the first place. Fucktard.

Fun Day
Saturday, May 14, 2005
We had a fun afternoon with JE. Took him to the Kids Space Museum in Pasadena. It's a place for both the kids and parents to enjoy, but personally I think the kid has to be at least 3 yr-old to take full benefit of the place.
I especailly like the The Climing Towers. First JE wasn't too keen climing on it, he went up about half dozen "stairs", then came back down right away. I think he has my fear of heights. John went up with him together. He built up some confidence and went up by himself after that.
If my cousin Em and her family come next year, it's definitely on the to-do list. ;)
Added later: While we were outside, someone who worked at the musuem caught a Black Widow in a glass jar. The spider was right behind where we sat watching JE happily riding a bike. It was the first time I have seen one. She sure was one unhappy widow. I wonder why?

They're booked
Wednesday, May 11, 2005
I booked our tickets to Australia last night, and got our vistor visa through ETA this morning. That's another load off my shoulders. Now we just need to get our house in shape. Downstairs is a complete mess. Since we had the leak, We John took the opportunity and did a little remodling in the downstair bathroom. Hopefully everything will be done by tonight.
A lot of things to do before our trip in mid-June:
1) Get the house in shape
2) JE's oritation day in his kinder, next Thursday?
3) JE's friend's birthday party on the 21st
4) Throw a party/game night on the 21st
5) Finish yet another re-fi
6) Buy gifts for our trip
7) JE's 5-yr birthday party on June 11th (which happen to be my birthday people. his b-day is on the 10th)
8) Pack
Then we are leaving a few days after his party. Let's hope the house will be in top shape before we leave. Don't like to come back from a long trip to see a messy house.
See? After you have kids, your life is pretty much arranged around them. But I ain't complaining.

Think Happy Thoughts
Saturday, May 7, 2005
It's 30 minutes until midnight. You would think after driving to and from San Diego, and walking around whole day at the SD Zoo, I would be really tired and fast asleep by now. But no, no sleep. It's always fun going to SD Zoo. I know we were just there early April. But we have zoo membership, so all it costed us were gas and food. And seeing our kids having a blast was totally worth all the driving. Hey, it can be a mastercard commercial. :)
Since tomorrow will be a busy day for us, I don't know if I will have time to blog. I'm going to wish all the mothers out there an early Happy Mother's Day.
And seriously people need to drive more sensiable. We witnessed two major accidents today, one on our way there and one on our way back. Both of them involved motorcycles. Both of them invovled death. Especailly the first one, the accident just happened as we past by and I could see the man's lifeless body lying on the ground. After we past it, I had to open the window and keep breathing from throwing up. The image haunted me all day.

Sign and Leaks
Friday, May 6, 2005
I took Amber to her first sign language class today.
It was really interesting and fun. It's more for the
parents and I learned a few signs. John and I have
always wanted to learn sign language for ourselves. He
was going to go with us, but with the water problem at
home, he had to stay home for it.
On the way home, I witnesses a Police furneral
procession. There were about 100 police mortocycles in
the front, followed by the immediate families in the 2 limos,
then the relatives and friends in their own cars,
ended up with another hundreds of police cars. I have no
idea who it was, but it was quite emotional to watch
it.
Now we are waiting for the plumber to show up to fix
the damn leak!

Grrrrrrr
Wednesday, May 4, 2005
I was out all day today with Amber. In the afternoon, got home after picking up JE from school around 4ish, the mat is soaked at the entry from the garage. My first thought was "uh-oh, this is so not good." I saw the water is coming from the downstairs bathroom. All I was hoping was after opening the door, we would not be swimming in water. Luckily there was about an inch of water on the floor, but it was seeping into the living room. I had to quickly grabbed a few towels to soak the water in and stop the water going any further.
Now we have no water. Hot and cold. Let's hope all will be fixed by tomorrow. That will be at least $ 600-700 going down the drain. (HA!)
