Acks! QuizBuilder somehow managed to lose my TB Quiz!! Arrrggghhh!!!

I need to go on another shopping spree to relief my stress. Computers used to be reliable until the internet came along.

Recently, I've been getting a lot of requests for scans. Honestly folks, I have a life, or at least I try to. Hunching over my scanner as it slowly descreens and scans each colour pic is not my idea of spending my time. Pressing magazines flat is no fun, and my scanner, an ultra-thin Canon 630P, isn't exactly a workhorse model either. Whatever scans I put up are usually meant to be for interest only. I try to be nice with special requests, but it has gradually become a chore to me. In the meantime, for the few I've promised, I'll try to get them out over the weekend, but be patient please. Future requests will be determined by my mood. Thanks.

On the other hand, if you're willing to sponsor a workhorse model for me... ^_^

I laugh at this. When has introversion been considered a schizoid disorder? And I suppose extroverts are now either suffering from narcissistic or histrionic problems. 73 questions to determine 10 personality disorders with varying degrees of criticality. Given the way the questions are structured, the abnormal person is the one with low probability for everything. No wonder shrinks are doing swell business in the US. And this is coming from a Psych student.

Question of the moment: Why is the CFFML suddenly aflame with fics of all manners and series since the hourfic challenge was issued? I can only surmise two possibilities -- either we hate slogging over edits, or most beta-readers are incredibly sllloooooowwwwwwww and critical such that 75% of fics never get to see the light of day. Good thing about hourfics, you're not supposed to have beta-readers, unless the person is sitting right next to you and editing as you type along, all done within the hour of course. Bad thing is when you blame yourself for not taking speed-typing classes before. Anyway, congrats, Kristin.

*screams* I finally got my Gensoumaden Saiyuki soundtrack CD!! Next target, the soundtrack for Karakuri Zoushi Ayatsuri Sakon. I have a good feeling that the latter is going to match, if not supersede, the Vampire Princess Miyu soundtrack as my all-time favourite, if I can find it. I love anime soundtrack with a classical edge. They're fantastic for inspiring fics.

Lika, I've fixed the layout. Hope you like it. And do blog more. ^_^

Monday, July 9, 2001 -- 10:51 p.m.

It's all right, Meta-chan. My fault for not requesting for your link. ^_^

Subaru isn't available as he is having his hands full with Kamui at the moment. The strange tea leaves I've nicked from Ran really works wonders. No wonder he keeps serving them to Gingetsu.

Just created a Tokyo Babylon Trivia Quiz. Try it, if you dare. ^_^

Sunday, July 8, 2001 -- 08:28 p.m.

Come on, things aren't that bad, are they? How about a Gingetsu/Kazuhiko/Ran/A in a giant bubbling jacuzzi fic? *grin* BTW, regarding G/K, I've always fancied Gingetsu on top. *gives Ran a nice box of oolong tea* I'll hug you.

Kristin, thanks for editing my evilness. I'll work on them tomorrow...perhaps. In the meantime, my cats are having a fun time with the projectiles.

Completed my Clover hourfic, Tea. It's Gingetsu/Kazuhiko, though not really a PWP.

Disappointing manga purchases yesterday. Is it me, or is Cross Oneself getting seriously incoherent? I still can't figure out what's going on in book 5, except that there's plenty of panty shots of Shizuha. Male fanservice in a shoujo manga. Weird. The first four volumes had interesting demons and exorcisms, such that the mangaka even included a glossary at the end of the books to explain the nature of the demons. Nothing here. She must be running out of ideas.

Similarly with Yami no Matsuei volume 10. There used to be a semblance of a coherent plot and purpose for each volume, even in the filler eps. But volume 10 was one big filler volume. Other than an intro to Tsuzuki's clan of shikigamis, nothing remotely interesting happened. And Matsushita-sensei must have passed over more work to her assistants because Hisoka's character design looks weird in this book.

Incidentally, can anyone direct me to a good site with information on the historical figure of Abeno Seimei? For those who are wondering, Abeno Seimei was a powerful onmyouji with mysterious powers who wielded great influence in the Royal Court during his time. There's quite a few shounen-ai/yaoi mangas featuring him. A movie and/or TV series about his story has or is about to be released in Japan too.

My first hourfic is done. A short piece titled Mahjong. I'm not suggesting that the four Seals are anything like the gang from Saiyuki. They're way too angsty to be cool.

Oops, Lika, I've forgotten about your mail. It's still sitting in my office inbox. I'll get back to it on Monday. *slaps my forehead*

Thursday, July 5, 2001 -- 11:09 p.m.

Most interesting. Kristin just issued an hourfic challenge on the CFFML. How about a bad Gingetsu/Kazuhiko PWP from me? *gets bricked by Kristin*

No violence in S/S. Yeah, right, and I'm Mokona. Broken limbs, murdered sibling, hearts getting punched out in the arguable name of "love". These must be standard Disney family fare then. Linh, I hail End of Violence. There's nothing to apologise to anyone. *wink*

Non-blog related stuff. The VCD set for Ayashi no Ceres is finally available here in Singapore. Thought of getting it, but hesitated after my previous fiasco with Fushigi Yuugi. When is the second season of Saiyuki coming? I'm thinking of a new layout using scans from the Saiyuki mahjong card set (kirei da), but I love Kamui's pretty face too much. Maybe another month.

Yatta! Kristin might translate Lawful Drug. Minna-san, please sign her guestbook, nag her, beg her to do so, and take a load off my conscience. *evil grin*

Many thanks to Satsuki-chan for help with the debugging. The blog should work fine with Netscape now.

Ureshii. I passed my Japanese test. On to the next stage!

Incidentally, I've finished the Mishima novel. Interesting conclusion indeed. The dying author who used Yuichi to vent his anger of his many betrayals by women, finally find himself actually loving a man and yet unable to voice it. Yuichi, who has abandoned countless male lovers, could only place his trust and love on one woman whom he could never love physically.
