i moved into a new apartment in santa monica over the weekend and i'm in the process of getting settled in. i think i'm going to like living there a lot (once the shower gets fixed), i just hope that my roommate's ex-boyfriend doesn't make good on his promise of coming over to reclaim all of the nice furniture in the livingroom. i went to ikea with nat on saturday and because of the woman at the register forgetting to scan my $100 entertainment center thing, i got it for free. moving my record collection is one miserable experience. admittedly i'm a weakling, but even with a strong friend helping, we were both dying carrying the huge boxes up the stairs. cds don't seem so bad anymore. the reward for helping me move everything was lunch at the wonderful hollywood fries.

the movie the deep end is about as pretentious and lame as the new blood brothers record. it was similar to an episode of the now-defunct (actually, i just did a google search and found out that the show is still running) late night, softcore porn show on the usa network called "silk stalkings" in that the story involved bad acting, poorly developed characters that you couldn't care less about, blackmail, and the russian mob. marketed as a "film-noir," it's the complete opposite. it's not dark or interesting or even entertaining. avoid this movie. thank you.

snopes.com is kind of a neat urban legends page. it talks here about a phil spector story and references the really funny legend surrounding the rolling stones song "cocksucker blues."
