current bane of my existence is web compatibility
am surfing ze web with konqueror and things look very odd. worse yet, certain things aren't working @ all. i had a span tag to black out a HBP spoiler and with konqueror it's as clear as can be (orange text on black background makes for quite the contrast). i already had that section fixed so that it appeared as it should in firefox. ze code is all archived now so it's too late to tweak it. it is... as the french would say: très unfortunate (<-simpson~esque gag).
boo! now that i utilize a computer that runs firefox and konqueror i am compelled to code appropriately for both in addition to ie. as i'm tweaking my browser preferences, i must conclude that konqueror is nicer than firefox. it loads the programs i want it to; it has the features i want it to; it just won't display html in the same way. U_U
with that said why don't i comment on a somewhat related matter: screen resolution. my current layout was designed when i had 1024*768 res, so it does not bother me terribly if people are viewing this site with that setting...
it just bothers me a little bit as the text looks like it's a product of block-o-land. this res difference is a big problem with my in-progress-may-never-see-the-light-of-day layout. i liken higher res to window doors and 1024*768 to a tiny jail cell window; you can't see the bigger picture without scrolling. it kills me to consider what a 800*600 would display for many a site (if 1024*768 is jail cell window, 800*600 is like a pin made hole).
i also read an article on the bad practice of using font tags. i use font tags lots, so shame on me for coding in such a way that excludes the nearsighted, the colour blind, or those who use foreign fonts. although i shouldn't despair with this issue as it can be fixed with style sheets.
still it's frustrating to attempt a consistent webpage look when people's browser settings vary as they do. for my in-progress layout, i could just code it for the vast 1024*768 crowd, but *hint**hint* i'd prefer it if people just bump up their res instead.
now doesn't that sounds like a good idea. ^u~

sorry i'm lazy
my august entries didn't add up to much. i won't be like a small few (don't know these bloggers personally) and excuse such blog-absence with the phrase: "sorry but i have a life". cause that would be so wrong for 2 reasons: (1) i do have a life seeing as how i'm alive, but i don't have a "life" (which i guess is when one is busy being productive at work or having a great social life <-- sooo not me), and (2) what a rude thing to say. *pout*
when people write that are they saying that i don't have a "life" like they do?! sure it's probably true, but they don't know that! anyone with manners should assume that i have a "life" too.
anyhoo, no frequent blogging cause i'm lazy. no new layout cause i'm lazy... and i get easily discouraged. still it's okay right? i'm sure not many read what's here, so no big harm done if it has little content and looks same-old-same-old. ^u^
here i did the quiz too:

You are the bubbly type!
Some traits you have are:
-enthusiasm
-positiveness
-funny
-sometimes annoying
People love to be around you, because your
happyness tranfers to them! Just don't be so
enthusiastic at the wrong times, or they might
get annoyed at you.
What Prince of Tennis Stereotype are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
annoying? yes... though i'm more of a downer than bubbly.
that seems like a long enough entry, doesn't it? okay then, cheerio!
