xxxholic
i really do feel that xxxholic is kinda dark. i'm not sure which chapters
you've read, cause there's one in particular that made me think how risky it is to do buisness with the witch. i've heard the "be careful what you wish for" line applied to fuuma but i think it's more fitting for this series. she can only grant your wish at a price, and i wonder if for some they'd be better off not having it granted... the cost is too high. i admit that it's not too dark, the witch is a good person. still one should be wary of resorting to such costly solutions.
x childhood trio
just read someone's comments about kamui's relationship with kotori and fuuma. though i'd like to agree with the person's views (that kamui was more romantically interested in fuuma than kotori), i sadly cannot. the more i think of it, the more i find that kamui really did have a crush on kotori. it drives me crazy thinking of their little moments together, like the time just before seishirou attacked. and when they were young, there are even more examples. of course, fuuma and kamui have their moments too... still i've always thought that fuuma's childhood was spent on the sidelines while kamui was happiest playing with kotori. poor fuuma! i have a habit of supporting the underdog, which is partly why i hope for those two to get together. and even though i don't dislike kotori, i'm kinda glad she's gone cause it opens the doors for opportunity. sorry, but she's in the way. she had to go... *wonders if CLAMP saw that too* and hopefully with her out of the picture, fuuma will have a chance.
well, that's all for now and maybe more later!! ^o^

Topic: CLAMP
it seems that i'm not too interested in either tsubasa or XXXHolic to actually buy the tankoubons, or is it cause i'm too cheap? it's true that tsubasa reuses characters from other CLAMP series, but i appreciate the opportunity this series brings to revive old characters or see current characters in a new environment. However, i've been thinking that as a shounen series, maybe fuuma and kamui won't appear? ...just a thought. ^-^;; and if i were CLAMP and wanted to make a nice bundle of money, i'd bring back seishirou. ha ha!! ^o^
and what
you said bout tsubasa starting off tragically confused me. i didn't find the beginning very sad, while i do find xxxholic kinda creepy (more on that another time). it could be because my senses are screwy, i am afterall the one who finds x not depressing. i just find that between the two series, xxxholic is the darker and more serious one.
you're probably not surprised that i like mokona's art style better than nekoi's. i guess i find the characters drawn by mokona better looking.
things i notice when comparing the two's drawings are:
mokona's draws hair with more detail; it's shinier, thicker/less wispy and is shaded so that it has more dimension
(depending on the series) there is a difference in eyes; mokona draws more complex eyes since she includes the lines of the irises and there are more tones shown
nekoi draws guys (the seme ones) more bulky and they're more square-ish in the face, while mokona draws the guys with a more triangular shaped face
in colour images, nekoi's art has less vivid colours and appears duller
and i could go on but i'm too lazy and i feel like i'm in art class again <-- (u get what i mean?)
what i've also noticed and find interesting is how both of their styles are evolving and becoming more alike, u see that too?
note to self: after rereading this entry, the verdict is that it is written poorly ^.~

wk gluhen 12
watched ep 12 last night, and after it ended i kept thinking that it resolved everything to hastily. All the personal schwarts verses rosenkruez fights ended to quickly, and the sena stuff was resolved too simply as well... also the ending was confusing. and was that farfello(sp?) who aided brad in his fight?
harry potterness
as i told ya, i think (despite my attempts) i have read the "who died" spoiler for the 5th book. but still i hope not. anyways on to other hp things, i was going to say that what i love about this book coming out (even when i don't plan to read it anytime soon) is the hype. hype is fun!! it creates an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement. they even featured it on the news. the harry potter news segment interviewed fans that just got the book and they were all girls i think. not trying to sound mean or anything, but wow they were kinda geeky. ha ha!! but i admit that i'm a geek myself. it's amusing that now that the book is out, everyone is racing to finish the book. is it cause that way you know what happens before everyone else? or is it cause they've been waiting so long that they can't wait a second more? if i had the book with me, i'd take my time cause it's best to have it last as long as possible before you're done and waiting for the next one to come. *wonders when that'll be*
i guess that doesn't make me a huge harry potter fan, i concede that i'm not a huge one... just a tiny one. i've only read books one and two. but it's because it's all based on my hp viewing strategy, where i read the book after the movie. afterall, that way i can enjoy the film and the book, unlike most who might enjoy the book and hate the film cause it doesn't meet their expectations/vision of the book. good plan? ^u^;;

tsubasa reservoir chronicle
reading some of the tsubasa summaries on the net. so far, story wise i'm not that interested, but character wise i find it really great. mokona is amusing & cute, blondie fye is so cute too and kurogane is funny (and he's wearing fuuma clothes while in hanshin ^u^). syaoran is nice too, but since he's more or less the normal one, he's not the most entertaining there. i'm happy that there are x characters in tusbasa (nice that sorata's there to add more humour), although i'd be even happier if it was fuuma and kamui... maybe later? ^u~
and wow!!! they brought back Asagi Shougo!! isn't he that guy in the x movie who replaced kakyou as a chi no ryu and took yuuto's water power??
slowdown
new chapter for another fic i'm following, and i've gotta say: the way this thing is written drives me crazy... in a good way. it's not written badly or anything, it's just that lately each chapter ends with a build-up to a minor climax. so i wait for the next chapter to deliver the turning point or a big telling scene, only to feel the momentum start @ square one again (as in no energetic/emotional scene comes from the build-up). but with that aside, i'll just wait for the next chapter and hope that this time things will be different.
being blog cautious
man! i've got to be more careful about what i read in other people's blogs these days, cause i almost read a major spoiler for the 5th harry potter book. oh! i don't like being this cautious!! >x< wonder how long this harry potter blog fest will go on?

layout lividness
lucky kuu!! you're able to create a layout in one sitting. unfortunately for me, it's a very tiring and self hating process, which spans a few days over a long period. and that basically sums up my time yesterday night. and unless i scrap another beginning layout design, i won't be able to feature amano artwork like i hoped. i was surprised to find that getting a good version of this certain final fantasy 6 pic would be so difficult. u-u
sigh! what a shame. oh and i think my scanner might suck.
CLAMP related
i honestly think i'm getting some kind of x withdrawal... well withdrawal might be an exaggeration. but in any case, i'm becoming a little impatient. it's such a pity cause i know people usually resort to reading fanfics to keep them occupied, but i can't really. when reading x fanfics, i find that fans' interpretation/representation of characters don't coincide with my own. what's worse is that it kinda pollutes my liking for them.
i just watched the tokyo babylon anime: volumes 1 & 2, and i realize that i like subaru quite a bit. but if i notice other people mention him, i can't bear to read it. in other words, i skip, skip, skip. don't know why... and it sounds like an awful thing to say. i especially skip fanfics on him, cause i feel ill reading them. x~x (<-- like this) and so it results in my not liking him, when really i do (if that makes any sense).
although i'm not a great tokyo babylon fan, i adore subaru more in TB than in X. which makes sense cause he's seems much sweeter in personality then (though he is still a nice guy in x). also cause in TB he seems more like kamui to me. i suppose others would disagree if they view kamui as either a weeping weakling or a mean brat. to me, both characters are very sweet and care a lot about others (though kamui is more defensive and less open than TB subaru). that said, i guess i'll look and find other things to do while i wait for next month's asuka.

in the rose garden
i'm kinda happy @ the moment having finally read a new chapter for this fic i'm following. what's sort of interesting about this fic for me is the frustration i feel for the plot. i spend my time reading and hoping for a confrontation between the characters, and when it comes nothing is resolved. i guess either than featuring a pairing i like, i enjoy most the complication that the two characters' thoughts and feelings create. i feel tempted to analyze it like one would anaylze a novel in english class, but i'm confused on what to make of it.
movie comments
to keep myself entertained, i've watched a couple of movies as of late. here are some i'll mention:
Die another day: this james bond film was kinda fun to watch. maybe it wasn't that great a film but there are elements presented in this lastest bond installment i found interesting. the action is fun for me to watch, and in bond films i always enjoy the gadgets. probably not one of the best bond films out there, but i like it.
Annie get your gun: another one of those classic musicals that i like to watch. this one is entertaining and pretty funny. the story is kind of simple and some of the main character's scenes are quite embarassing to watch. but all in all, it was quite amusing. not my favourite musical but i nice one all the same.
Goldmember: i haven't seen this austin powers film until now, and i believe that this will be the last austin film they're making. i think the first half is very energetic and entertaining and as it nears the end it gets a bit tiring and dull. i still think the film is pretty good except that i dislike the cop-out ending a lot. i wish they didn't do that for an ending, i didn't want things to change the way they did. i also found it weird that i started disliking austin's father when i found out what actor played him. *shrug*
Finding nemo: saw this film in the theatres with my family. it's a nice, cute film that's really entertaining. i enjoyed the humour, but it's strange that i wasn't that enamoured with any of the characters (especially the father and son). i kinda cried at the end *hopes no one noticed* but i guess it can't be helped cause i'm a cry baby. that and i cry at the weirdest moments.

online artistic woes
i remember you mentioning about online artists and how u can't draw like them. well (sniff) i too have similar frustration. although i like to think it's because i haven't drawn in soooo long, but that's just me being optimistic. and (not to be cruel) i must mention that there's a lot of scary looking fanart online too. in a way i admire how people fearlessly display some of their scary art, cause i just couldn't. all my disfigured pieces of horror are hidden and destroyed so that i may never see it again.
also about fan artists closing their site and not being able to see their work; i feel the same except it doesn't pertain to fanart sites but to all my bookmarked links that now lead to nonexistent pages. also i'm sad when people become tired of a series. hmmm... wonder if i have complained of this before (which is most likely since i have a great tendency too remain stuck on the same pained subject... as you may well know). well even so, let me reiterate my thoughts. when someone tires of a series that i am presently interested in, i feel kinda down in an abandoned sort of way. quite strange isn't it? as if someone has left the party due to boredom, and i remain wondering who will follow. or is it more like someone leaving a sinking ship which i still remain on? in any case, i find it a downer.
point form notes
cleaning is scary
i'm overly sentimental
i had a nightmare about the ending of x
why do people prefer livejournals over blogs?
i hate not being able to read japanese
i mainly go to movie theatres to see visually impressive films, otherwise i rent
being bombarded by popup windows is freaky

Amazing Race
ah! so you missed the Amazing Race? good thing i didn't take a nap then. ^u^ well i found out that a couple was eliminated the previous round so the guy and his dad are still there (or as the gay couple calls them, "wheezer & geezer"). and for the latest ep it took place in Vienna, Austria (i wanna go!) and another couple (i think they're engaged) was eliminated.
Exchange Sympathy
i kinda sympathize with the scanlation/fanstuff girl since i would like to have something nice in return for doing something nice for others. i know it's not that charitable in principle, since one should do something out of the goodness of their heart and expect nothing in return. but i suppose to demand something in return is not the best route either, maybe just suggest it? although people would probably ignore the suggestions. in the end, i think she's one of those people who doesn't want to feel used and yet still wants to do things for others. and while some would be satisfied with the occasional thanks, she might want something more substantial. it's just a thought, i really don't know what the reasoning is... maybe you're right in that she's too lazy to create content for other areas of her site? i really don't know. ^-^;;
Some point form commentary (the lazy way) >u<
tenpuri radio? what's that?
in chinese BL manga scans BBS, what does BBS mean? and too bad that u couldn't complain.
about Saint Beast, do they dress worse than Youji from WK? i've become curious.

sorry it took awhile for me to blog, it's been quite a struggle to beat my family away from the comp. ^u^
About the AN blog links i can send them to u thru icq, but not until you answer my last icq response. >u<
But about the AN thingie, it's true that we just aren't that kind of people, however isn't it a shame that we aren't? i mean wouldn't we have more fun if we were? or maybe we just aren't AN con goers and more of the CNanime type, which i guess would make us abnormal since i get the feeling most people are the opposite. ^u^;;
and i vow to watch the Amazing Race tonight!!! (but you should too if i mistakenly take another nap) XP

anime north
heh heh! i like how you don't hold back in terms of the bluntness of your comments (so like you to be blunt, isn't it? ^u^
i've been reading other blogs where people wrote about their AN con experience and it seems like they had fun. *cries* why can't i have that much fun?? i hate to think that i'm some boring bore who doesn't know how to have a good time (though it could be true ^-^;;). *sigh* i just don't know what they saw that i didn't.
but of course they were the fun moments:
where the gw voice actors are surprised by the questions about heero/duo and trowa/quatre slashiness
heero's VA: the real romance was between heero and relena, am i right? (or something to that effect)
audience:..... *crickets along with small shouts of "whoot" and soft applause... and i think me laughing*
i found the music video contest fun to watch... and criticize >u< *evil smile*
actually answering at least one of the shojou contest questions
FAKE was the funniest thing i saw there. and although i was prepared, i had to shrink in my chair for the kissing scenes. yeah yeah, i'm such a baby. XP oh and the guy's reaction made the viewing all the more funnier.
i must now mention/rant about the X viewing for a moment. People are so blind. kamui slowly raises his arm to give subaru a hug of thanks... and everyone can't stop squeeling or ohhhing. *boo hoo hoo* sure i get it, subaru collapsed on top of kamui and that alone is more than enough suggestion a fangirl needs, but where's the fuuma love?? don't his moves deserve a little credit??? again i say people are so blind, fuuma/kamui interaction is so much more blatant yet i hear silence. i just don't get people.

Hey! remember you were telling me how the people at the convention called it Magical Knight Rayearth and not Magic Knight Rayearth (which i've always heard used til then)? Well i ran the japanese title through an online translator and it gave "Magical horseman ray ground". isn't that funny?
it seems that the first 2 characters are translated as "magic", but if combined with the next character (which means knight/horseman/something with horses), it's translated as "magical". So if those people were familiar with the kanji (which me thinks not) then that could be how the difference in meaning occured. But even so, the real english title seems to be Magic Knight Rayearth, judging by some of the series' merchandise. Just like how Lawful Drug was earlier translated as Legal Drug by some. Hmm... online translator calls it Legitimate Drug.
Ha ha! these online translators are so funny though, even though practically all the words are in english, i can only guess at what it means. and i'm sure that that's not new to anyone either.
This reminds me about what the hosts of the same panel mentioned about the english translation of X, specifically when subaru said "heed me boy!" and not "listen to me" to kamui deep within kamui's mind. I admit that it's a funny translation, but i suppose i can imagine a reason why it was translated as such (ha ha! that was a little too wordy). I think that it's because subaru is an occult guy, and usually mystic people would talk like that (at least in the middle ages). Oh well, but even so i like to point out that critics are not free from criticism themselves right?

New Layout
Okay, i finally have a new layout put up here. and although i might make minor changes here and there, this is basically the finished product. Hopefully it won't take too long before i can have a new one. I'd like to mention that this layout was painful to make, although to be honest ever single layout i've made has been a pain. There is always this nagging feeling of dissatisfaction, that has plagued me through out it's construction. To give someone an idea of what i mean, i bring to attention the many dnangel layouts that have sprung up of late (i believe due to the series nice artwork and it's becoming an animated series). Well, i started this before the anime went to air, and yet with all the extra time i put, people can make nicer ones in less, less, less the time. Anyways it's here so i'll stop complaining.
CLAMP's New Layout
The CLAMP website has a new layout as well. My thoughts on it is that it's very nice, though i miss the simplicity of the old permanent layout (i'm talking about the one before the temporary layout in May). But i'm happy that they've made new character icons, those things are kinda fun to look at and collect. But what i miss most about their old layout is the wallpapers they created. Perhaps CLAMP's artists are to busy to draw layout artwork for their site. Same probably goes for having drawn pictures for their album, though some of the photographs are nice.
