i have finally finished reading the 4th Harry Potter book: Goblet of Fire. ^u^ but my discussion of it will be for another time. just wanted to include a Potter related quiz:
I'm
a Gryffindor!
every house or sorting hat quiz i've taken so far has placed me in gryffindor. though flattering, to be truly honest i'm much too cowardly to be "where dwell the brave at heart" and thought my answers reflected as much. i remember when i was first introduced to the houses some time ago, i ranked them as follows:
1) gryffindor
2) ravenclaw
3) slytherin
4) hufflepuff
based on what house i as a character would most likely/wish to be placed in.
but now my mind has been changed to the ranking:
1) gryffindor
2) hufflepuff
3) slytherin
4) ravenclaw
my reasons being...
gryffindor: bravery
the ability to stand up and fight against adversity is the greatest form of strength. i see this house's members as those who live to protect and do so by facing foes & hardships so others don't have to. i'm not so great @ putting it into words, but it's the best people who would & could do this.
hufflepuff: hardworking and just
those who work hard to better themselves grow and will become more than they were. though they may not initially be the most gifted, in time they will incomparably surpass their beginnings. my impression from the books is this house is taken lightly and considered relatively weak. hufflepuff is not as flashy & glamourous but if gryffindors are the protectors, hufflepuffs are nurturers: gentle, fair and striving for happiness. i find it fitting that the head of this house is the herbology professor, Mrs. Sprout. to me hufflepuffs are like plants, simple seeds that develop into flowers (i'm crazy i know). which is a total change from before, when i though hufflepuffs were suppose to be party animals. :D
slytherin: cunning and ambitious
possibly a very dangerous combination. ambition is a powerful motivator that takes one to great heights. while i consider cunning to be above being able to store & retrieve info within one's head. there is a creative element that allows the cunningly clever to develop knowledge instead of just applying it. i fully realize that slytherins are more aptly defined by they're ambition than intelligence. in general, they're not a very informative bunch but they are crafty enough to stop it from hindering them as much as it should. this house doesn't have the most noblest of qualities but it's intriguing how it's most unlike the other houses. to be on the outs is a very interesting position. what's it like to be part of a group that is an integral part of the school and yet still not inline with it? so really it's mainly out of curiosity that i would consider being in slytherin. also i really like green & silver.
ravenclaw: witty and clever
lastly it's the ravenclaw house, which i admittly know little about. i may be unreasonable harsh, but prizing intelligence conjures images of someone who is calculating and coldly so. as if in a fight they would stand back apart from the action and speculate. intelligence makes one capable but doesn't compensate for the greatness of character. in other words, intelligence is a great skill/attribute but it doesn't truly make us who we are. to me it's kinda like how a house that would prize those with athletic abilities is a shallow way to determine the worthiness of a person. though i realize this is a school, and you do not want to pass up on the smart ones. oh well, it's just other attributes speak more to me.
hopefully that wasn't too long. and don't worry i get it, i know it's silly for me to actually dedicate time to rank and rationalize my thoughts for something so trival. i fully realize that there's no such thing as hogwarts and i will never don a talking ragged hat. so why think about it? and write about it? *smile* just because. ^u^ bye!

things of my interest
i believe i've mentioned before my habit of starting things and not finishing them. and unfortunately instead of finishing up games left undone i'm adding to it. new members are:
1) mario&luigi superstar saga
2) tales of symphonia
3) metal gear solid 2
4) paper mario: the thousand year door.
with the first 3 i've reached a road block of sorts. basically i've come to an annoyingly challenging part. i think i'll make time for paper mario 2 cause i love that game. it's so cute. if given a choice to buy only one current platform, serious rpg players would not choose the gamecube which has (as far as i know) only two rpg games for it. they are #2 & #4 of my list. which is understandable but still a pity since they're lots of fun and many won't know it.
movie of the week
another recommendation of mine is the movie gattaca. it's not a recent film... over 5 years old, starring ethan hawke and uma thurman. hopefully many have seen it and as for those who haven't & who enjoy a sci-fi futuristic look @ a society ruled by genetics, watch it.
recent regret is...
that i can't read japanese. came across some tsubasa scans involving the characters of rg veda.. and i don't get what's going on. also i came across scans of a magazine with clamp interview/coverage on x... again i don't get it.
random thought of late
link's hair (before getting a hat) in the gba game "the legend of zelda: the minish cap" is so cute and fluffy!
okay that ends a taste of what's been going on in my head, cheerio then!

tis now 2005
i suppose i'm starting a december tradition where i do absolutely no blogging. i could make excuses about how it's cause the christmas season is so hectic, but it's honestly cause i'm enjoying vegetating and munching down chocolate and cookies (aka getting fatter).
that basically sums up my activities as of late, well including visiting relatives. oh and catching up on naruto episodes, i'm starting to really like it.
ya know kuu it's kinda sad that i can't skate. thus making it another thing to go on the list of things i can't do. it will provide company to other list members like skiing & swimming. oh and nice layout change by the way, it's very sunny looking. *tee hee* who knows when i'll actually get down to changing mine, although i know it's way overdue. as for your blog-i-visit-list, quite a few are gone huh? wonder if it's a trend. will blog again... eventually, so cheerio for now!
