Gluhen episodes
after downloading the weiss kreuz gluhen eps 3-5, (
thanks for the info!! ^u~)
i finally got down to watching them late Saturday night. So far i kinda like it, although i'm not entirely sure what's going on. the later eps make the story a lot more complicated, thus confusing. I don't know if
you've seen them yet so i'll try not to say anything spoilerific... but i just wanna add that the end of ep5 was unexpected.
One observation that i like to note is that Aya of Gluhen is soo much more like an adult in my eyes. I admit that i can't say that there's a change in personality (cause i just don't know ^u^;;) but his looks certainly changes one perceptions. Yep, the maturity of his appearance is "perty cool", however he's much too adult for me to be his fangirl slave. I suppose my self-perception may be screwed cause i don't consider myself a /fangirl/... @ least not when compared to other people.
Okay so to sum up my views:
Gluhen Aya very cool, mature
Weiss Kreuz Aya ok, not my cup of tea
Ran you're my favourite!!!
side note:
so now that
you've discovered the
link ^u^, any opinions to share??

Latest Asuka
Personally i'm not sure what to make of the latest events in X. I'm really confused as to what Kamui's wish is, except that it has something to do with why he sees Fuuma before him and in his vision killing Kanoe. That and the answer is related to Subaru's sudden presence. I don't get it at all and i can't wait until CLAMP finally reveals the story's secrets. It's really difficult to decide what i like about what's going on without truly knowing what exactly /is/ going on.
Also unexpected is that Kamui finally sees DOE Subaru in such a scene. I suppose i should be pleased that it wasn't a sappy one-on-one thing, thank goodness that Fuuma's there.
I just don't know how to express myself... i just hope that CLAMP will please me by making Kamui's wish involve Fuuma, cause Fuuma's special. Oh! and i really wouldn't mind if Subaru killed Kanoe. And even if it wasn't him, i'm pretty sure that it wasn't Fuuma. Afterall, ever since that vision several books ago, it was always expected to be him. But of course CLAMP has a habit of defying the expected, therefore it can't be Fuuma right?
Speaking of Kanoe's death, it has suddenly occurred to me how terrible that is. Afterall with her gone, it'll just be Yuuto and Satsuki. The potential for Yuuto and Satsuki romance scenes has thus increased greatly... and that's so sad seeing how i've always felt that Yuuto and Kanoe were the better pairing.
Oh and thankyou CLAMP for the Kamui&Fuuma picture, please send many more my way... the more suggestive the better. ^u^

yeah!! i've managed to bring myself to blog!! personally i wish i blogged more often. afterall it's not like i haven't had any opinions of late, just that i must set my mind to actually record them here.
opinion of films
during the weekends i have managed to see a couple of films and although i won't go into too much detail about them, i'd just like to say that it's a pity that i didn't enjoy two of them as much as i wished.
My Neighbour Totoro is a classic Hayao Miyazaki film but in all honesty his other films are much better. Not that the movie sucks, but it's quite different from what i was expecting. Totoro isn't /that/ cute, and the noises he makes are kinda like loud growls (pretty monsterish). Also i don't think he plays that great of a role. However the animation is nice and the story (while not that eventful) is pleasant.
Okay, onto the other film which is
My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Hmmm i don't really have that much to write about, seeing how my only comment is that despite its funny moments i did expect it to be even funnier. But still (like Totoro) the film is pretty good, just that it didn't quite reach my expectations... actually most films that i'm interested in seeing don't. Maybe i'm not realistic in my expectations of them??
And i've seen other films too, like
Blue Crush which is about a girl surfer in Hawaii who wants to compete in a major surfing competition. All in the hopes to get noticed by sponsers, allowing her to make lots of $ as a pro. Insert romantic fling and that kinda sums it up. But the film sure makes surfing look very exciting. I guess with a setting like Hawaii you're bound to see waves of blue water and sunny, sandy beaches (sooo not like here, all cold n' windy); and that makes the sport appear glamourous.
Lastly i saw the film
About a Boy starring Hugh Grant. This film's pretty good cause not only is it funny but the characters are quite likeable. In addition, i feel that i can relate to the "occupation" of Hugh Grant's character. ^-^ I think it's a film that
you might enjoy as well.
And just because i feel like it, i'll list all the Miyazaki films i've seen (not too many) from most favourite to least:
- Kiki's Delivery Service
- Princess Mononoke
- Spirited Away
- My Neighbour Totoro
If i was to do this list after seeing Spirited Away in theatres i would of placed it before Mononoke, but after seeing Mononoke sometime later i changed my mind. Who knows if that will change again if i see Spirited Away on dvd. I must admit that i enjoy most films more the second time around.

i've just archived my past entries, seeing how it's now january and the year 2003. I should probably make a new layout, but it might not happen. that's too bad, since i wanted to have a blog that changed layouts monthly.
but making "nice" layouts are kinda hard for me, so chi just might stick around for another month.
Lord of the Ring's Two Towers
...and now i think i'll follow suit with
kuu's idea and do a little review of the
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers movie: (some spoilers included)
i should probably begin w/ saying that i haven't read the books so my review is based soley on the movie. So unlike others i have no preconceptions about how the film should of been based on Tolkien's work.
That said, i'd say that the film looks good in terms of the settings, the choreography for most of the fight scenes as well as the CG characters.
But the focus of my review would be on the character development, which is the lack of it. Even though it's the second 3 hour long film, i can't say i really know the characters' personality. I suppose this is an understandable set back; considering that the book is filled with events encountered along their journey (events that need time to be covered in the films). Still, it takes away from my enjoyment b/c i'm not that concerned over the wellfare of the characters. When Aragorn was feared dead, i didn't worry too much (although i was told that the actor almost died doing this part ^^;;). I wouldn't say i didn't care @ all for the characters, but just the same i'd say i didn't care enough.
Another point i'd like to make is that i'd be nice if there was more sinister corruption going on. I liked that part where the human king is being manipulated by Saruman & Grima Wormtongue (the strange looking advisor) but that threat was quickly and uneventfully removed. Also the role of Saruman was minimal and the human kingdom wasn't as interesting an element as i hoped.
As for the fight scenes, even though they looked good, one tends to get numb to it after a good while. It's all *shoot* *slash* *charge*
*dies x~X*. I did feel bad that little boys were forced to fight... but you didn't actual see any of them die so you quickly forget it. And although some might find the inserts of noble speeches inspiring, i was annoyed that these modivators were standing there spewing pep talks while fellow men where being slaughtered in the same room. @~@ They could at least talk while fighting, right?
To sum it up... i'd say it wasn't a horrible film that sent me running outside. It looks good and all, though i wouldn't say movie of the year. I appreciate the hard work and effort of the director, however i think the 1st film was considerably better. Hopefully though, the last film will be better than the 2 combined.
Yep that's about it, although i should also comment on the fact that my review is just me mentioning what's wrong and not blancing it w/ the good. I guess i'll leave the compliments to all those Lord of The Ring
geeks *oops* make that fans. and no offense to any LotR fans, just me poking fun!! ^u^
