more harry potterness
yuppers, i'm on a harry potter kick as of late. watched my prisoner of azkaban dvd about 3 times in the span of 2-3 days. which has brought to my attention of how i love the musical score for this film. songs i'm really diggin' are:
Mischief Managed!
Double Trouble
Hagrid the Professor
Knight Bus
A Window to the Past [updated]
Buckbeak's Flight [updated]
John Willams did a great job with it, which is why i'm saddened to find that someone else will be scoring for Goblet Of Fire.
it's quite surprising to see the cast&crew for the coming harry potter films on this great info site. i keep thinking, "who are these directors, screen writers, composers?". admittedly i thought the same of Alfonso Cuarón and he did a great job, so i suppose i shouldn't worry. but it's terrible that they have a different screen writer for the 5th film, instead of Kloves whose done all 4. i honestly feel that the screen writer's work is pivotal to the quality of the movie. in other words, he/she makes or breaks the film.
oh mr. sorting hat, tell me my house
because i love doing these quizzes...

and i'll include these results, as the house the quiz assigned me changed based on whether my answer of this question:
And last, be honest.. Which house do you think you should be in?
was hufflepuff(giving me the yellow&black) to gryffindor(giving me the red&gold) or i would get the blue&bronze for selecting ravenclaw/slytherin.

hee! as anyone can tell, i had a hard time picking just one result pic, so i decided to display them all.
and now, let's change topics to...
and yep, i do really like the manga i just bought. i wasn't a big fan of the cover art, but the drawings inside are quite nice. it's too bad that i can't read the japanese
novel(s) this manga was based on. the manga focuses on wataru's point of view, and it'd be interesting if the
novel(s) gave more insight on kazuki's. also i'm relieved that it's a sweet story, i find these stories more fun to read.

an impulse buy ^u^;;
ok harry stuff aside, now to something that "might" interest ya. i bought a new manga on saturday!!! for sometime whenever i went to bookstores, i would out of curiousity see if they had this one, but they didn't. sooo come last saturday, i actually found it @ an indigo around eglington by looking it up on the store's computer. it's really embarrasing the more i think of it, how this guy that worked there saw how i was looking through the store's inventory site by mistake and then went to go find the book for me. so when i saw the title "only the ring finger knows" i immediately grabbed it and yelled "thanks!" so the guy would leave super quick and NOT know what the heck i wanted. and this was with stephanie with me, and of course she'd ask what it was and i'll have to say... i suck @ lying under interrogation.
so when she found out, her faced was like this:
(face translation: "ok there, whatever"). oh well, i'm happy and plus she let me use her discount card so i got 10% off!!! yeah!! so yup i'm done... so u can now stop pushing me helen :p
side comment: wataru reminds me of kamui ^u^

the zest to blog
not so long ago i had tons i wanted to blog bout but was too busy to do so. now that time has passed, the urge to write and my memory of what i wanted to exactly say has waned.
getting the blogging fires ablaze
so with that said, the following is what i have weakly conjured of my energy and memory.
Goblet of Fire:
finished this book about a month ago, and i can safely say that it's the best one i've finish reading so far... and judging by how far i've gotten in the 5th book (i'm about 3/4 done) it'll most likely stay the best... for now @ least. without giving anything away, (which will no doubt make what i write afterwards quite boring) what's great about #4 is that so many exciting events are happening, and the who-dunnit of the book is cleverly written, thus hard to figure out. i like all the new characters, and wished they were present for the 5th book. seeing how this is the first harry potter book that i've read BEFORE watching the film, i'm anxious if they'll do a good job of it. actually i check in time to time to see what's been filmed so far, since i now have no fears about being spoiled. i like how they plan to blow big $$ on its production, the cash sure doesn't hurt. the choice of director leaves me with no idea of what to expect. does he know what he's doing or not? i can't say. of particular interest is the casting, and based on appearances i'm slightly disappointed. C.Diggory: not how i pictured... the actor has a strangely sleepy/hooded look to his eyes, Fleur: glad she's actually french but the actress just doesn't strike me as being very veela~ish, Krum: actor looks way more athletic than i imagined, but i wouldn't say this actor is a bad choice. Of course they are sticking with the main 3, and i trust these ppl to do a good job.
a trying read
lemme segway this into a minor talk of the 5th book. ok, harry is annoying!!! he's such a brat. i'm not trying to be hard on him cause... yeah he's a teenager and yeah his life hasn't been an easy one. but still!! reading pages and pages of his complaints and attitude is really trying. also for a book that big, not much has been happening. maybe my thoughts will change around when i get to the end, but for now i only like the character Umbridge... she makes life @ hogwarts interesting to read.
