Please. Let it be me. Let it be me.

Yesterday, while I was on the cab home from Ikea, I realized that I didn't know right and left in Chinese. So I just kept on telling the Uncle to zhuan right, zhuan left. Haha. It's really weird but I really don't know if you is right or left in Chinese.

Yesterday night, after Pastor Benny's message on the book of Jonah, which by the way was very very good, I was walking up and down the kindy rooms, waiting for my mummy to finish her meeting when I saw the pictures drawn by the kindy kids and some of them were really pretty! I can't even draw like that! And to think that I took up 3 different art classes each week from K1 till Primary 2!

3 Art classes! One class was on monday evenings. The next 2 were on Saturday mornings and afternoons. It's really funny. I had so many lessons but if you ask me how to draw a man right now, I probably wouldn't be able to do it. My man's shoes will be bigger than his head, he will have oval eyes, his nose would be really huge, his mouth will just a be curly line, his hands would stick out (I still don't know how to draw a man with his hands by his side after so many years) and his legs would be really skinny.

I think I'm just really bad at using my hands to do all this kind of arty stuff. I can't even sew. In primary school, we had to make a box or something like that during art class and I cheated and got my maid to do it for me. In Sec 2 during Home Economics, Joanne and I hid under the table every Home Econs lesson so that we could escape from Mrs Amy Goh because she always wanted to check our work. (Nic, did you do that too?) Half the time, we'll get sent out of class, which was really fun because we'll just start talking and laughing and I had Nic and Joanne for company so it was really fun! Finally, in August (after 8 months of home econs) the few of us then went to get our cloths from Spotlight. We probably bought our cloths after Mrs Amy Goh threatened to book us or something. haha.

Oh! I remember too that Joanne used to bring her book to the toilet and sit down there the entire lesson and got us to lie to Mrs Goh that she wasn't in school! haha Super funny! The hiding under the table part was the best! Mrs Amy Goh would think we went to the toilet or something so she'll just skip our names! haha. I never handed up my dress in Sec2, which meant that I got a F for Home Economics but I really couldn't be bothered! I think I got a C for Home Econs in Sec 1 because I got my maid to sew my denim bag for me! haha.

It's really funny thinking about it! But I'm really not good with my hands. Ask me to do write some wavy curly font to design a letter and I wouldn't be able to do it. Anyway, I'm going to Ikea right now to have swedish meatballs!

I didn't know that Singapore can actually have bush fires! Well, I didn't think Singapore was hot enough to produce bush fires! When I saw the papers a few days back with that picture of the bushes going up in fire, I thought it was in Australia! How would I know that it would be at Punggol! haha. And yesterday, we had like sixteen bush fires! 16! I don't believe it!

At least we have capable fire fighters and nice Singaporeans who call the fire station when they see smoke. Or else, we'll be choking in smoke right now.

But really. What is wrong with the weather?! The poor swans and ducks at the Botanical Gardens are not going to be able to swim in a few days time if it continues to be so hot!

The weekend was filled with so many things! On Saturday, there was this church-wide prayer retreat and the Sunday School Youths had to do 4 stations. I did the station on "my heart" and Edmund helped me with it. We went to church at around 830AM to set up and for my station, we stuck pictures with verses on the wall and set up tables and gave people drawing block and markers to draw! We even had little arrows on the floor to direct people around our station! haha. Selena's station was also super cool! Michelle and her gave out "measuring" cups and all. I didn't manage to see the rest of the stations though!

After we set up, we had worship and at 1030, Sandra, Edmund, Dorcas, Zaneta and myself went to the canteen to eat breakfast. We ate, talked and then lunch came, so we ate lunch and continued talking and we just kept on talking till like 5! haha. During that whole time, Lydia, Michelle, Ben, popped down and talked to us too. haha. I didn't think I would sit at the canteen from 1030 till 5 just talking and eating with everyone else but it was super fun!

Came home after packing up and had to go to Aunty Wendy's house for dinner. Uncle Nick's a really good cook so we had a really wonderful meal! The beef and the pasta were the best! haha. This coming weekend, Efrem and myself would have to learn from his father because Uncle Nick says that we have to cook on our own when we go overseas and he thinks Pasta is one of the best dishes to cook! haha. Aunty Wendy was super funny also! When she heard I got accepted into the University, she started telling me not to go out with the American boys and she taught my mum and myself how to see if that guy is good boyfriend material from the way he parks his car! Super hilarious! Sat around and talked even more after dinner.

Went to Church yesterday and after church, went to meet Michelle, Clara, Sarah and Tabitha for lunch. I was too lazy to take the bus so I caught a ride from Edmund. The 5 of us ate at Thai Express and it was so good catching up with all of them! I haven't seen them in ages and I really missed talking to them! haha. After lunch, I met up with Edmund and Jordon again and Edmund was really nice to send me back home, wait downstairs for 10minutes while I went up to change and drove us back to church so that we can play captain's ball! We were really early so we just sat around with the rest of the people still at church and talked before playing.

Friday, February 18, 2005 05:10 p.m.

I have a gazillion, million things to do (Ok, it's just preparing for cell and the church prayer retreat tomorrow, but it's still ALOT!), lots of people are stepping on my toes and the weather's getting to me! ARGH! And I got to find my own transport to cell and back! I've never felt more ready to kill a million, zuzillion, buzillion ants!

I'm going to shower. For the third time today.

I was watching this really interesting show on arts central a few minutes ago. I don't excatly know what the show is called but they were talking about Cain and Abel, Adam and Eve and where the historians think Eden is. It's super interesting though there were some wrong facts like "Eve ate an apple from the tree" Actually, Eve ate a fruit from the tree.

But still, a very interesting show! I think the show was actually talking about violence, curses etc around the world. But anyway, I'm off to watch Friends now and then it'll be prawn noodles at Adam Road!

While every girl is busy telling her girlfriends how her date went last night, I'll tell you what my grandfather does to show his love to my grandmother :)

My grandfather accompanies my grandma to the market at 5:30AM every sunday morning to buy fresh produce for their children and their families so that he can carry the food back home for her before he heads off to church.

Haha. My grandma told that to me when I told her I hated going to the wet market. Small gesture but I think it's really nice of my grandfather to do that. Some men would not even bother waking up at such an early hour, let alone, walk 15mins to the market, just to carry food home.

Anyway, I think I got stung by a beetle in Cherating! There was this one night when we were having dinner and I saw this huge black beetle and the next thing I knew, it 'hit' my leg before flying off! My leg hurts whenever I walk and there is this lump and puss is oozing out of that spot. Yucks. I don't know what to do. It was only yesterday that my leg started hurting whenever I walked and when I crossed my legs and that spot came into contact with anything, it would hurt terribly. I don't know if I should squeeze the puss out or do nothing and hopefully the lump will subside.

The skin on my back is also peeling! It's so irritatingly itchy! Argh. I'm going for a massage later with my Aunty!

Monday, February 14, 2005 11:52 a.m.

Thank God I don't have to go to work or school today! I am so tired from visiting everyone! Less than 2 hours after we reached Singapore on saturday evening, we were out at my mum's sister's place having chinese new year dinner with my mum's entire family and all my cousins. And yesterday, from 1-10PM, I visited 5 houses in total! 5! It's not that I hate visiting or anything but it's really tiring!

Anyway, Kuantan was really really nice! Not Kuantan really since Kuantan is a town. We were about 50KM away from Kuantan town so we were actually at Cherating. The beach is really beautiful! The resort we were in shared the whole stretch of beach with Club Med but I think that Club Med's side of the beach really sucked because they had those small small pebbles on their beach which made walking rather painful! The whole beach stretches about 10KM before headlands come and break the landscape and the sand was so white, clean and smooth! The waves were really strong, especially at five, and some were as tall as I am!

The majority of the guests at the resort were Germans and they were really friendly! The younger ones were really weird though! haha. One night after dinner, we walked past the pool and saw 2 of them changing into their swim suits, slapping on sunblock and then swimming in the pool! It was so weird! It was like 9PM! haha. And they even wanted us to join them! haha. Everyday was just spent at the beach or the pool swimming, reading or just walking along the beaches. It's really nice walking along the beaches! We collected lots of seashells and caught lots of hermit crabs! And everynight, we were treated to a display of fireworks! It's super cool! The fireworks are like those seen during national day parades except that the duration of those fireworks are much shorter! The Germans bought those fireworks and so they lighted them everynight! haha.

Oh! I learnt how to drive too! Between 12-2, when it was too hot to be hanging around the pool, my dad taught me how to drive! I can now officially, turn right, turn left, reverse, park and obviously, drive! haha! Super fun! I was quite scared at first but I did it in the end! haha! When I first started turning, I crashed into a palm tree! super funny! And I suck at braking, my dad got out of the car to instruct me because he felt as if he was going to puke! haha. Now I just got to practise braking properly and gently!

I really can't wait to drive now! And the best part is that I haven't even signed up for driving classes in Singapore! That's why I kind of think signing up for lessons is a total waste of time and money! Why can't the Singapore Government just let us learn on our own?

Anyway, I'm really tired, hot and itchy now. I got bitten twice by 2 big mosquitos and my shoulders, back and upper thighs are burnt! I don't know how that happened when our family used up at least 500ml of SPF 45 sunblock! I'm going to try to sleep for another hour before going out later.

Monday, February 7, 2005 11:27 p.m.

I am leaving early tomorrow morning for Kuantan! Can't wait! It'll be 5 days of sun, sand and the South China Sea! I'm really looking forward to this holiday! I hope the resort has cable tv though because I want to watch the last episode of Amazing Race!

Saturday, February 5, 2005 09:42 p.m.

The pictures everyone have been waiting for!

And he's loving every minute of it!

Well, if you haven't quite realized who that monkey is, you're absolutely slow! Yes! It's Jon Wong during supper with Evan, Melvin, Justin, Deanne and myself a while back. Haha. Guess he still likes sticking wrappers on his face and acting all ninja turtle-ish even though he's so old :)

Thursday, February 3, 2005 08:55 p.m.

Haha! My dad just paid me $50 to mail out his Chinese New Year cards to his business partners! haha! Just when I really need the money! $50 just to stick the stamps on the 200 over envelopes and drop it off at the post office tomorrow! I love my daddy!

Thursday, February 3, 2005 05:31 p.m.

It's supposed to be a long holiday and I'm supposed to be very free but it seems as if I get busier everyday! I don't even hold a job but I always have so many things to do and so many people to meet up with. Gosh. I thought I'll have more free time once I've cleared all my applications but there's still so many things to do!

Well, I really shouldn't be complaining. At least I don't have to work from 9 to 5! Anyway, Gilly called from Perth just now! So nice to hear from her and giggle with her over the phone! haha. Seems like she's adjusted to the place and all!

Arsenal really sucks. Manchester United thrashed them 4-2! ha!

Wednesday, February 2, 2005 01:44 p.m.

My grandma has been depositing Chinese New Year goodies at our place! We've got pineapple tarts (yumyum), love letters, cookies, sweets, mandarin orange, fizzy drinks etc. And the thing is that we're not even going to be entertaining anyone in our house! Nobody comes and visit us during the new year!

Anyway, went for a facial and massage with my Aunt yesterday afternoon. Sarah came and joined us around 8:30 and we had dinner at Din Tai Fung. I really like their shrimp and pork dumplings! It's better than Crystal Jade anytime.

OK. I'm actually quite scared about my A level results. I know I shouldn't be thinking about it and I should be enjoying myself and whatever but there's this little thing at the back of my head that reminds me that my A level results are coming out soon! (Zhimei says that it's going to come out on the 4th March!!!)

What if I get CCD? Math was horrible! Econs wasn't that good either! I mean, you can't say it's impossible to get those grades! Of course it's possible to get CCD! I'm not an A*Star student! I don't know. It's this mixed feeling altogether. I want to be confident yet I don't dare to be confident. I want to do well yet I know that my work wasn't top notch or whatever. Argh. Honestly, I'm freaked out. Totally.
