Sunday, January 30, 2005 10:27 p.m. I'm considering getting a new email account. The hotmail accounts have very little space! I just came back from my grandma's place and I was helping her pack the sweets into big bottles for chinese new year! I'm half suspecting the 1KG of sweets are just for Sarah and myself. I can't imagine my aunties and uncles or my grandparent's friends snacking on those sweets! haha. I like my grandma! She so nice to stock up on sweets and fizzy drinks even though we're not going to celebrate chinese new year with her! Went down this afternoon to Daniel's parent's place to celebrate Baby Joel's first month and to attend his blessing. Even though I don't really think babies are cute, baby Joel is really cute! He's very tiny though and Jac, Debbie, Cheryl and myself were trying to get him to turn his head! haha. He's really cute! He just stares at us as if we're big monsters from adult world :) Last night was barbeque at Justin's house with Dan, Jac, Yado, Chang, Justin's friend and myself. Turned out quite alright though I was really stuffed by the end of the night. I helped my mum make pineapple tarts yesterday afternoon too! It didn't turn out that bad but I'd still choose the Prima Deli pineapple tarts anytime! I still got one more essay to go. Bugger.Wednesday, January 26, 2005 09:57 p.m. Gilly left for Perth this evening so we went to the airport to send her off! She really has alot of friends! There were quite abit of us from church already and she still had like so many friends from MGS sending her off! haha. Yesterday night, Gilly, Jac and myself went to Raffles City for a Japanese dinner before we sat outside Esplanade talking till quite late because we managed to catch those workers change the advertisments at Citylink. haha. I'm definitely going to miss shopping, talking and just doing nonsense and random stuff with Gilly! So Gilly, write to us all and come back quickly so that Jac, you and me can have crepes for dinner and talk about special friends! :) Take care! Once again, I don't really know how to downsize this picture but this is almost the entire cell with Gilly.Monday, January 24, 2005 07:08 p.m. THIS article is really scary! I read it a few days ago in Pastor Gordon's file and I just happened to stumble upon it online. It's about the 5 angels of the 5 continents that Dr. Samuel Doctorian encountered when he was on the island of Patmos. Super scary but worth reading. It's quite interesting.Sunday, January 23, 2005 05:50 p.m. This week was another mad week with so many things to do, so many places to go and so many people to meet up with. I think every week will be a mad week but anyway. Friday night was cell extravaganza at Natalie's house! I heard there were about 60 people in total. We played games, had worship and ate. haha. Some cell groups actually brought picnic mats and candles for their under the stars dinner at the grass patch! haha. Yesterday, Jac and myself met up at Waffletown to talk before we went over to cell leader's meeting. The meeting was so thought provoking and I felt as if my mind was racing to figure out what my experiences were, what the bible says and what I actually do. But it was excellent! I've never discussed prayer from that aspect before. Headed over to Wesley for Fusion afterwards. We were late and so we decided to sit down at YMCA McDonald's for dinner. Went into Wesley at around 7.40PM only but it was still good! The late comers were held in their sanctuary while the early birds were in the hall having worship. They wanted to screen the worship and the preaching from the other side over to our side but realized that they couldn't really do it so they decided to bring the speaker over to our side so that both sides can hear him properly! haha. For once it was good being late! haha. The speaker, Pastor Benny Ho, was really really good. He was preaching from John 2:1-11 and before he started, I was wondering to myself what he would be preaching from that passage! I mean, we have gone through this passage so many times ever since we were in primary school! But he managed to talk about 3 transformations that was described in there and apply it to our daily lives! It's like fresh insight into this familar passage! really really good. Sarah and myself went over to Mos Burger after that because she didn't have her dinner and then we came home. Went to church today and had to usher at Shine Forth because it was our usunday school class's turn. I can't believe that next week will be the last week of january! I was counting yesterday with Jac and I think the A level results will be out in about 4-5 weeks! I'm really really scared. Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEN!!Call me! I miss you so much! I'm getting the wax strips for you tomorrow before I send over the parcel! I LOVE YOU! Sleep early! :) Monday, January 17, 2005 12:18 p.m. 3 Ways Singapore Soccer differs from English premier League soccer matches. 1) Female Medics! We have a female medic in our all male soccer team! Beat that! Even Chelsea can't boast that they have a female medic who runs onto the pitch to care for their injured star players! 2) Our coach, Raddy, wears track pants and a polo shirt. His rival, the Indonesian coach, wears bermudas and a polo shirt! It must have been really cooling for them! Sir Alex Fergueson wears a tailor made suit! 3) Our soccer pitch sucks big time. The grass is a faint brown colour! Yucks. And notice the little 'hut' in which our reserve players and coaches sit in? It's pathetic! We need bigger huts so that our players won't get wet when it rains! Anyway, Singapore finally won some big soccer competition! Finally! At least they didn't disappoint President Nathan! I think winning this Tiger Cup is almost similar to some European country winning the Euro Cup so Singapore's not bad! I tried explaining to my grandfather what a penalty box is and I failed miserably. I don't even know how to say rectangle in chinese. Went out for supper at Adam Road after coming home from my grandparent's place! The prawn noodles there is really really good! I like it! On Saturday night, I had one of the best Nasi Lemak! We went to Changi Village for dinner and ended up having Nasi Lemak, 40 sticks of Satay, Char Kway Teow and Bandung! I kind of like Bandung now. haha. I'm going to start a good journal soon! Took a walk along Changi beach too and I saw 4 scouts who were lost! Super funny! The beaches in Singapore really have no waves at all.Saturday, January 15, 2005 10:12 p.m. Betrayed, bruised and bothered. Why Lord? What's going to happen, Lord? Why Lord? Why?!?Wednesday, January 12, 2005 10:15 p.m. I think Melvin once said this during one of the supper sessions: "It doesn't matter where you go as long as you're in the centre of God's will"Tuesday, January 11, 2005 08:50 p.m. Never use Fedex to mail out your documents! Ugh! Fedex totally pissed me off today. They are totally inefficient and they give me all sorts of wrong information. I wasted so much time just trying to sort everything out. Irritating. From now onwards, I'm just going to use DHL or TNT. Living with Lydia is quite funny! haha.Sunday, January 9, 2005 10:34 p.m. Finally. This whole week was madness! There were just so many things to do and friends to meet up with! I didn't touch my remaining applications or go online since Tuesday and I've only showered twice a day since tuesday and ate home only on wednesday night. I was left only with $2.75 on Friday because I spent all my money that my mum gave me on Monday. I've been constipating since Thursday which means I haven't gone to the toilet since then. I think it's because I haven't eaten enough vegetables and fruits. Eating out kills your bowels totally. But anyway, I had a cup of starfruit juice today to make things easier and I think the constipation's gone but now I have this horrible stomache. I've been to the toilet 3 times today and my stomach keeps on churning and churning. Great. But anyway. I can't remember what I did on Tuesday night. But on Wednesday, I had Far East Chicken Rice for lunch and we went to buy 2 shirts for our friend in the UK. Came home for dinner since I had to spend some time with my grandmother and then went out to Tanglin Mall for ice cream in the night with Jon Wong, Evan, Justin, Deanne and Melvin. Thursday night was spent with my cousin. She came back from the UK for christmas and she was leaving soon so we decided to go out. Had dinner and talked before we went to watch Meet the Fockers which was absolutely hilarious! I was laughing so hard, I had stiches and I think I was laughing too hard because after the show, I heard the guy next to me tell his friend that he didn't know whether he was laughing because the show was funny or because I was laughing so hard. haha. But Meet the Fockers was really really funny! Go catch it! I haven't laughed like that in so long! If I wasn't laughing because of the show, I was laughing because my cousin tried to secretly mix the popcorn so that I'll end up eating the salty popcorn! We had the lady split the container into half so that salty was on one side and sweet was on the other. But half the time, I was eating salty popcorn because my silly cousin used the straws to push the salty popcorn over to my side! haha. I bumped into Mrs Elaine Chan on friday! She was my Sec1 PE teacher but she moved over to MGS last year. I'm quite surprised she still remembers me! haha. Waited for Cheryl with Zaneta and the three of us went for the sunday school leaders meeting. Saturday was sunday school leaders meeting also but left at 5 for the annual New Year's party organized by my parents's long time friends! The party was for my parents and their old cell group from post university days to meet up and talk about their lives and just have dinner together but it's like a family party so I met all my friends whom I grew up with and attended sunday school with! haha. So fun! We sat at the living room, gorging down chocolates and coke after dinner and talked about the good old days when we had to follow our parents to cell because they dragged us along. Watched the last 20 minutes of the Tiger Cup Finals! The minute we switched on the TV, all the fathers started streaming into the living room. haha. Singapore did quite well though but I still think Singapore soccer suck big time. We stayed till like half past twelve because all our parents just kept on talking and talking. Went to church today and we had combined classes. The skit put up by the Cambodia missions team was really good! Sarah and myself had Subway for lunch while our parents sat and talked with church people at some coffee place. Came home and discussed cell stuff with Jac before going to my grandmother's house. I'm tired out from last week but there's still so things I have to do and errands to run this week. Ugh. My mum's going to Bangkok tomorrow for 4 days and that means she can't send me around and pick me up from places. I've got to go sleep now because I've got a very long day tomorrow.Monday, January 3, 2005 10:06 p.m. When I tap my bus card now, it only makes one beep! Ah! That means I'm no longer paying 45cents for my bus ride! Horrible! I don't want to pay adult fare! It's just so not cool having one beep only! I seriously lack sleep. I've only been averaging 5 hours lately. I sleep at 3AM almost everynight because I either have applications to complete, essays to write, tv shows to watch, friends to meet up and have supper with or I'm staying over at someone's house. And I wake up at 8AM almost everyday too because I have to meet friends for breakfast at 10AM, go to church or run errands. Horrid. I hardly get afternoon naps too because I'm either out or I have more essays to write. Ugh. It's partly my fault I don't have enough sleep so I'm going to try and sleep early from tonight onwards. Afterall, I'm supposed to sleep for 12 hours everyday during this holiday right? :)Sunday, January 2, 2005 11:55 p.m. NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!! :) I'm overjoyed! I don't have to wake up early tomorrow and be all grouchy and complain that school sucks! haha! I don't have to fear that I can't fit into my school uniforms after putting on so much weight over the holidays! I don't have to pack my school bag and fret about having horrible people in my class and worry about whether my shoe laces are inserted into the shoe loops! haha! I don't even have to wake up and eat peanut butter sandwich and drink a cup of milo! I can have breakfast at Subway, wear heels out tomorrow, wake up at 10, meet up with friends in Orchard and watch a movie at 12!! This is way too shiok! It feels a bit funny though. The house is unusually quiet right now. I want to sing and run around but I bet my mum's going to come out of her room and yell at me! haha! The horrible part now is that I have another application due tomorrow so I have to stay up now to edit my essays and fill up the forms. bleah. I want to wake up at 7AM tomorrow and go up to Sarah and say something like: "Sarah? Why are you wearing your school uniform? Are you OK? Are you sleep walking? Ohh! I forgot! You've got school! Think I better go back and sleep now. I'm very tired and I need to be alert to go out with my friends later! Have fun at school!" Then I'll quickly run back and lock the room door so that she won't come in and box me! haha. Anyway, had church today and Pastor Gabriel was super funny! He actually brought along real sausages and hot dog buns because he wanted to make a point about us humans making mistakes and about God's grace and forgiveness! Went shopping after church. We saw really pretty Nine West heels but they didn't have my size so my mum got it instead. Finally found a watch today that I like and suited me so Daddy got it for me because he always wanted me to own a proper watch. Had tea and then we came home. I need to sit down, think and jot down my new year resolutions once I get this application out of the way! I haven't even reflected on 2004. Ugh.Saturday, January 1, 2005 06:28 p.m. And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year :"Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown" And he replied : "Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way," Saturday, January 1, 2005 06:17 p.m. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :) I can't believe it's the year 2005 already! 2004 really passed by so quickly! It seems as if the A levels were done a really long time ago. Last year kind of passed by in a blur. There were happy days, sad days and lots and lots of stressful days! So, my last day of 2004 was spent editing my essays, going to the bank to get a demand draft, going back to school to get my recommendations and then going to the post office to send my application documents out! Had cell leader's meeting in the late afternoon then came home to shower before going back to church again for dinner. Watchnight service afterwards. Went to Newton for supper with a whole bunch of people before going back at around 3 plus to Deanne's house to stay the night with Jacq and Debbie. We watched a bit of oceans eleven before falling asleep and we woke up at 9 this morning to watch Mona Lisa Smile. haha. Pity I didn't finish watching the whole show because my dad came over to pick me up. I slept my entire afternoon away because I am so so tired and we're having steamboat dinner at my house tonight! I'm slightly apprehensive about this new year. Excited about certain things, scared about many things. There are a few things I want to do this year. I want to continue to do my quiet time since I actually have no reason not to do it now since I ain't schooling. I am going to adopt this structure when I read my bible. I hope to attend bible study classes and go back to BSF! I want to start a journal to write down my thoughts and feelings. I've been doing alot of thinking about certain things this past week and I don't think it's excatly suitable writing it all down here. I want to try waitressing too! So 2005 should be an intersting year! There will be changes and scary moments (A level results!) but overall, it'll be good! Because God will be Lord over my year! Hello 2005! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
