really, is it? Because let me tell you - it is pretty hard to
make rent when money you expect to have had days ago

So I'm convinced the MTA is truly out to get me. First, yesterday I get to work insanely late. Why? Because a
"police investegation" shut down the entire 4/5/6 line. Now
for those of you not in NYC, kindly look at this map and tell me what is wrong with the east side. Why there is only one subway line down it! The west side has two!

You see, once long ago, the east side also had two line, but one was the Third Avenue El (Elevated.) But apparently we don't like Els (at least not so much in Manhattan. So it was resolved that the Third Avenue El would be torn down and replaced with a Second Avenue Subway line. And so it was passed and yada yada and . . .

The Third Ave El got torn down and replaced with squat.
Okay, so yeah, the city did have a major financial crisis in
the meantime. But. That. Was. Years. Ago.

So every year I get to hear about why the Second Avenue
Line project isn't being restarted. Its too expensive, it would take ten years. Well guess what? Its always gonna be expensive, waiting isn't gonna magically bring the cost
down. And every year it isn't started is a year longer till we
get it. If it had been started 5 years ago when I moved
back here - it would be halfway down by now.

So instead we have the entire freaking East Side grind to a HALT whenever something goes wrong. We jam into already not-so-empty buses, or are forced to go to the west side,
take a train there only to head back to the East Side, or get
to shell out money for cabs. Joy.

Plus I get carsick on buses and can't read. :P

You may wonder why it seems I never update this.
One reason is - I really am busy.
Another is the now nagging feeling that someone will read it and totally misinterpret something.
People from part A of my life read a rant about people from part B, think its about them, suddenly this all seems like a much worse idea than I even though it was in the first place.

And you may recall - I did dub this "Sapphire's bad idea" to begin with.
