You can never have too many versions of Silent Wind
Wednesday, December 12, 2001 03:33 a.m.
In the end, I guess today wasn't a half bad day - despite the massive research job that kept me at work late. Thankfully Gareth managed to get everything taped and I made it home just in time for Smallville, which was also a decent ep. I love Lex. He is totally why I watch the show.
The really cool thing about the day (besides knowing for a fact I have wonderful friends who care about me - always good!) were my two packages. On was a holiday gift from Blud - he got me the X DVD. Wuv you sweetie! Ahh, to hear Seki scream . . . I gotta pick up his present tommorow, I know exactly what it is. The other had my CD Japan items from the order with carp so long ago. That would be the Big O Drama album, the Houshin Engi (aka Soul Hunter) OP/ED single and the Argent Soma OP single. And no you cannot have too many versions of Silent Wind. I'm sure of it. But he also really did sen Vagrant Story! How awesome is that! Carp - you rule!
In other news, I have a cell phone. Yes, I who swore I'd be the last person in NYC without one, have one now. Hey, I came close! I think only Gareth doesn't have one now. I'm oddly amused by it - even if I haven't really used it yet. Let's see how this works out shall we? Nice to have caller ID at last! Anniversary

Well, really yesterday was the date in question, but I never got around to making an entry. Yup. An entire year. Go me.
Going to see the play yesterday turned out to be a great idea. Not only did everyone I know pull of an amazing job in the end, but they had this party afterwards and I got invited. And even though I was forced (twice!) to do improv at it, a good time was had. Plus I got to see some people I hadn't in a while, and reconnect. Warm fuzzies all around. And it wasn't just because of the hard lemonade and cider!
Funny how the people you wish would bookmark your pages never do, and the one's you'd rather didn't do. Course, that isn't inclusive of all people! Just something that I've noticed about some people . . .
Now if I can just survive the next two or so days at the office w/o the computers going mad, research projects getting out of hand or the boss going completely mad.
Did I mention I have auditions coming too?

Anime Tour today, started out kinda cheap, turned not so after I splurged and got all the Gravitation manga I was missing. See it pays to go to Jersey in the pouring rain. Wish I'd held out on those Sailor Moon volumes though. Ah such is life. Being able to get the X movie OST for only $7 when I was about to break down and buy it full price makes up for that tiny annoyance.
Course there are other annoyances not quite so easy to deal with . . .
Rewatched "Restless" today - 4th season final for Buffy, otherwise known as "the freaky dream episode we are still trying to figure out." What a weird weird trip notcing things covered and things not. And weirder, seeing things that apply more to 6th season than 5th. A lot more things. Joss works in weird ways. "Good year for vengance" indeed.
I should sleep as I'm off to see A Doll's House tommorow. I should note that the Initial D Vocal Battle Second stage has a lot of instrumentals on it, but some are quite pretty. Go figure. CookieFest 2001 Pt. 1

It is December, therefore I bake. Sometimes I wonder why, and yet, still I bake. Gareth thinks I'm mad of course.
So today had two highly icky encounters. First when I went downstairs to mail off the rent (woo, on time!) This guy holding some bags was running and muttering and headed straight for a patch of wall. As I walked by, I heard "I gotta pee" and all I could think was, naaaaa. -_- Yup, he went right there. This is a major Avenue folks, a nice one too. No I didn't watch! But I could hear. It was soooo gross. Then he just went off walking as before.
*shudder*
So then on the train ride home, right after homeless man A crawls through the car (mind you he walked in to the car just fine then started crawling) homeless guy B sits in the vacated seat next to me. Besides stinking - something you just have to get used to I guess - he had these two bags that he place smack in the middle of the train car. Hello! He then stretched out his legs on top of one of them. Now NYC subway cars - not all that wide - he was totally blocking passage through. So then this poor woman gets on and tries to walk over to an empty seat - and ends up tripping over this guys bags and feet. So what does he do? Start yelling about what a bitch she is for disturbing him.
*sigh* A pleasant riding experience was had by all.
So I tell Seema and Lynn about this blog (since they think I fell of the face of the earth as usual - and what do I get back from Seema? To add www.gojane.com to my link list. LOL Love you sweetie. Trumping wolve

That refers to the fact I have a Akino Arai single that he doesn't. And that I got my X ED single like 3 days before he got his. Normally he beats me at these things.
I hate getting jobs at 4-5 PM. But you probably all know that, huh? I should also really answer e-mails. When did I get so bad at that . . . oh pretty much 2 months after I first got e-mail huh?
Which reminds me how much I dread when my 10-year HS reunion rolls around, even if I don't intend to go.
Hey, its Merli's birthday today! Yay! Merli is why I have nifty wuv.org pages.
Today as I crawled through my Buffy lists and boards, I ran into a person who was so insanely pessimistic, well, it put me to shame. It reminded me of when I still read the X-books and was disgusted. Every. Single. Week. So I gave them up. Ahhhhhh. Much healthier! Course it took about 3 years and going away to college. Good things I don't see Buffy sinking into the same bog. I mean when you pick up the books and think "Who did they kill this week?" - well not good huh.
I should sleep now. kowaii nibblemonster

On the one hand, I'm pleased. I got in an awesome package from dlw today, saw the Orphen 3 omake, which is still making me laugh when I think of it, and in the end was able to order the cell phone I wanted.
OTOH, my player is choking on Soul Hunter, making a review difficult, I'm dealing with insane anxiety over all the stuff I have to do this weekend, I'm up at 3 AM again and to top it off everybody is down over some stuff on BAPS.
Which leads to the obligatory Buffy portion of this. What did I say after Smashed aired? This can't end well. No relationship on the show does. Worse you take two emotional wrecks, with serious baggage, and have them sleep together waaaaaaay early in the relationship . . .
I now stare at the blinking cursor wondering if I was planning on going somewhere with that.
Oh yeah - doesn't mean I can't have a teensy hope that the writers will (after dragging us through the depths of despair) lead us a not-so-unhappy place. Just not counting on it.
Oh, I linked cabbit's blog. He thinks Spike is gonna get staked. And I think I'm a pessimist.
