Last day of summer holidays...

Where has the time gone? Why, it seems like only yesterday when I was staying up late watching anime, and sleeping in until noon. Soon, it'll be me staying up late doing projects that I should have started earlier, and waking up at 7:00. And then, one day, I'll have to do it every day until I retire, and become a ROBOT. Of course, this'll be the un-fun type of robot, that doesn't do anything but work...

*cry*

So... anyone else agonizing about the impending school crap? Hmm? I hope I get run over by a truck tomorrow before I have to spend a minute at school.

Oh, by the way, you guys remember that guy from Brampton who was killed when tonnes of frozen food fell on him in that warehouse? He was killed by thousands of tubs of Baskin Robins ice cream. What a way to go, eh?

I have always had an appreciation for numbers that end in a nice, round 0 or 5. I usually find it annoying when I come across numbers that end otherwise, but it usually doesn't bother me too much. Lately though, I've been finding it downright aggrivating if numbers don't end nicely. You know, if the total call time on my cell didn't end with a nice round number, I would try to make an attempt to end the next call just right, just so the seconds counter and the minutes counter will end with nice, happy numbers.

Of course, there are other requirements than just ending in a 0 or a 5... Does this make me crazy?

I found the second volume of Kenshin today, but I dodn't have any money on me. I was also hesitating because it wasn't from the same company. Ya know how it is, with these pirated things... *shifty eyes*

School starts soon! Fun! I am SO EXCITED. I JUST CAN'T WAIT. YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'M EXCITED ABOUT? ME GETTING A SHARP POINTY STICK, JABBED INTO MY EYE. THAT WOULD BE SWELL.*angst*

09:03 p.m.

Sooo... Another four days until school starts, eh? Hn. Well, excuse me while I scream in a corner for the next few hours. This summer went by so quickly, especially since I wasted it doing nothing. Which is exactly why this was the BEST SUMMER EVAR. I also gained many new obsessions, that will one day destroy me.

Went to the orthodontist today. I was taking a nap right before I left, so I was a bit hurried. I had the good fortune of waking up at 7:30 this morning after being up late, so I was a bit tired. It was okay though, we arrived a bit early. Like ONE DAY early. It turns out that my appointment was actually scheduled for tomorrow. There was no line today though, so I got it done anyway. Haw. Plus, I had breakfast for the first ime in months today because I woke up early.

I've been trying to learn HTML again. Not that it's really all that hard. I just can't seem to remember all the tags and crap though. Plus I don't have the creativity to design a site of my own, or the dilegence to try and come up with one. Feh.

Ever get a feeling where you actually want to do things? It's been one of those days. Fortunately for me, my laziness squashed that silly little notion, so no actual work has been accomplished today. I do want an Evangelion model though. Too bad they're so darned expensive. I was also seriously thinking about working on a comic, or maybe my PACE story. Thank goodness for laziness.

I have determined what I want to be when I grow up. I want to be a ruler of a small island nation (name has yet to be determimned). Of course, I'll need to open my company first, so I can become rich, and fund my island's army of killer androids. For defense, of course. That and a Death Ray. Defense purposes again, you know.

Yep, that'll be my job, commander of killer androids on my own island... during the day at least. At night, I'll be a ninja cyborg pirate!@ AHAH HAH HAH HAH HAH!@#

...I'm really tired.

11:06 p.m.

My right arm hurts. My right index finger hurts. My legs hurt. I hurt. All this because of one day. Why, I remember it like it was yesterday, possibly because it was.

But first, Friday. I went to see my doctor for my annual check up. It was embarassing. Why, you may ask. It's because he's a kid doctor. My sister and I were waiting for our appointment in a room full of crying babies and kids. The receptionist wasn't that much older than my sister. It was awkward, but it was to be expected since my sister is too lazy to plan her appointments at a different doctor, so my dad has to do it for us. I think were going back next year.

And we didn't even get stickers this time. Damn.

Saturday, I went to the Anime convention with KT. We took the subway, where I was reminded of my intese dislike for the subway, but love for subway transfers. The transfers were cooler when I was a kid though, the machine made this loud beep and a really long transfer would come out. Nowadays, the button isn't even fun to press anymore. How times change.

Yeah. I hate subways, mostly because I'm claustrophobic, and being in long dark tunnels doesn't appeal to me. Also, it smells funny down there, but what can you do?

Kt wanted to visit the Silver Snail before we went to the con, so we did. I've only been there once before, but holy crap was it full of cool stuff. No Evangelion models though. Le sigh.

We had lunch at Subway. It was the first time I've ever been in a Subway, much less eaten in one, so it was a new experience. I was also glad that we stopped walking.

We got to the Convention shortly after and we spent a few hours wandering inside. Mostly, I was just bargain hunting for the cheapest Ragnarok, but only two places had volume 2, so that sucked. I ended up getting volume 2 and 3, and they rock. KT got some stuff too, a poster and a comic.

At 4:30, KT and I left to go to Aky's surprise birthday dinner at Swiss Chalet. In the car, KT and I tried to put a "Shrek 2" Temporary tatoo on her arm and spilt water all over the back seat of the car. Whoops. As for the dinner, I must say, we did a crappy job of revealing the surprise to Aky. We all sort of hid behind the menus until Aky came to our table and we sort of muttered, "Surprise" rather lamely. Also, I don't think the expected amount of attendees came. That meaning Joan, Danielle, B, KT, me, Aky, and Teresa. Oh well.

For dinner, I had a quarter chicken dinner, with a Sprite. Everyone else ordered fancy drinks. I'm a rebel. I be cool, yo. So I've never actaully eaten chicken like that before (meaning it wasn't cut into bit sized pieces for me), so I picked at it with my hands until I couldn't pick at it anymore. Then I gnawed on parts of the bones. I also forced everyone to take a butter packet as a "Friendship Butter". They comsumed it with their bread, much like... our... friendship...? Err... insert an expression of your own here. Preferably concerning butter, and possibly friendship.

After dinner, we waked to Markham Bowl, and it was tiring. People honked at us. Yeah. I skipped for a while with different people, but then I got cramps and stopped.

Bowling was fun. I actually won a game, which is a miracle. I think something else important happened, but it escapes me at the moment. Memory loss is fun.

Afterwards, we went to Aky's house. We were supposed to watch a movie, but some people were on the computers, so we just lazed around. B, Kt, Aky, and I went to her newly renovated basement and poked the weights. We played air hockey in teams, and KT and my team lost. The puck also went flying into my right index finger, and it hurts to bend it.

After a while, we finally got to watching the movie. It was a horror called They, and it wasn't very scary. The actress had a very long neck, and was really skinny. Riley was in it. The ending was pretty good though, since it was pretty different. Everyone was screaming and stuff in the movie. That of making absurd comments. I made odd comments, but I didn't scream. I don't scream. Screaming's fer girls! Instead, I covered my eyes like a wimp. I be tuff. It was odd since, like I said, it wasn't really scary. Feh.

So that was pretty much it. That and I discovered my odd love for foreign films that have a meandering plot. If there are subtitles, all the better. I also love boring documentaries for some reason.

Aky, I wish you an enjoyable, belated, solemn Day of Aging. I would add some words of wisdom here, but everything on the top of my head is horribly cliche, so instead, I'll say, "Bananna Iron Pocket".

Also, everything is cooler when it fights crime. Example, mailmen. Pretty dull eh? But add crime fighting to the mix, and what do you get? Captain Carrier the masked deliverer of Justice, Postage Lad his sidekick, and together they fight crime. Exciting eh? Although I better not hear anything about them STAMPing out evil, or I'll have to murder you for making a pun. Maybe Captain Carrier will catch me...

I have done nothing for the last few days, and I am enjoying myself. I went out for lunch today though. And I getting a growing obsession with donuts. I'm worried about school. Feh. Going to the anime convention, seeing as how I'm becoming and anime nerd. I don't really want to pay $40 though. That's hella expensive. Especially since I didn't get a job like everyone seems to have. I'm a leech on society. *sobsob* *feels guilty*

So yeah. Also, I have just about all my money in the bank, and I don't get allowance. I'll have to be thrifty and get a day pass for the comic section and hope that the limited anime parts include the dealers room. Che.

In closing, I'd just like to say, "Green Shirt Papaya Nose Flute." Also, if I were a pirate, my name would be Dirty Morgan Vane. How do I know? I took a test here.

02:56 p.m.

I have a new favourite word. "Gnu". How cool is the word "gnu"? If it was tangible, I'd hug it or something.

Yesterday, after our weekly dim sum, my dad got donuts. Since when did Tim Horton's pack their donuts in a huge box like Krispy Kreme? Ehn. Fresh donuts are delicious. My sister went out to her friends house with Brian, and had Jello cake. I watched cartoons. That was my exciting Saturday.

Today I went out for a buffet lunch with my extended family. After lunch, the kid's (my sister, my younger cousin, and I) went walking in "Japan-town". It didn't really have anything too interesting, but my sister bought a drink that was horrifically expensive.

I want to watch the rest of Rurouni Kenshin. I need volume two, before I kill someone.

I've been reading a new webcomic lately. It's called
follow. It's really good, and a little weird. Very fantasy-ish. You go read.

02:53 p.m.

Gee, I sure wonder what I'm going to blog about. Yup, no major events in the last twenty four hours. No siree. Oh wait, there was that little thing. What was it? Oh yeah, the thirteen and a half hour power outage. Maybe I can say something about that.

Yeah. I was on the computer went the power went out. I was on Homestarrunner, and I thought I broke my sisters computer. My sister was at Jeff's house playing mahjong at the time. So for the first few moments, I moped around wondering what to do when I realized that I needed power to do anything fun in my house.

I got to help my dad make dinner. Back in 1999, we were one of those computer illiterate families that were worried about Y2K (Le sigh. We know more now...) so we got one of them portable gas stoves. Hah! We got the last laugh! We DID get a use out of it! So anyway, we had no power, the rice cooker didn't work, and all we had was one stove top, guess what we had for dinner?

RICE!

Yup. Imagine my sister's dissapointment when she came home at seven, only to realize that we were going to have rice enen though the power was out. Even I thought we were going to have cup noodles. Feh, whatever. Dad taught me how to make dinner with one stove top, and the rice was actually really good. better than normal I'd say. Plus, the little stove was fun to play with.

After dinner, I went to bed. At eight. There wasn't anything else to do, really. I got up at nine to walk around a dark house with my sister and dad though. We looked out the window to look at the eerily darkened streets. They also looked at the stars. I had to find my glasses to see the stars. Feh.

Well, I didn't really fall asleep until one, and then I kept on waking up at every little thing over the course of the night. You know, sirens and dogs. When the power came back at 5:30, I woke up because our neighbour's backyard light shone into our room and I heard a house alarm.

Right now, our house is a little warm. We turned off air conditioning, so we set up a few fans around the house. Last night, I missed a re run of FLCL, but that's okay since there's only six episodes anyway, but if I miss Rurouni Kenshin tomorrow, there will be hell to pay.

Bulletin. The computer is fixed. More updates are now possible.

... I am extremely upset about the whole cup thing. I was almost in tears. Which I find odd. In fact, I find it really disturbing, how upset I am.

I bet I'm going to be really bitter for no reason. Well, technically the cup would be the reason, but um... yeah.

I want anime. And manga.

... and my bunny cup, damn it.

08:17 p.m.

Alas, so ends an era. Today, I slightly damaged a cup I have been using for every meal and snack for about a decade. It has a long crack on it, but remarkably, it still holds water. Still… I don’t want to use it anymore with the possibility that it might get damaged further.

Yeah. It’s my favourite cup. It’s a kiddy cup, white with bunnies on it. My grandmother got it for me in Hong Kong when I was really little, and I’ve been using ever since. I love my cup. I’m really, really, REALLY going to miss it. Not that I’m going to throw it away or anything. Just putting it into storage.

I guess I’ll have to use the mugs now.

I miss my bunny cup.

I think I’ll go mope now.

01:30 p.m.

My aunt left for Brazil last Saturday, coincidentally on my grandmother's birthday, so we had to make her last few days in Canada count.

Friday was the official birthday dinner thing, and we went to China Buffet King. I didn't think it was a good idea, since most of the family eat like birds, and it was $20 per person, but oh well. I was once again seated at the kids table with my sister and two of my cousins. My dad also sat at the kids table because he is cool.

So anyway, we were eating at our table, when all the lights go off. Of course, all the adults went "OooohhhHHHhh!!!", like they always do when lights go off in Chinese restaurants. It makes me wonder if they do that while in non chinese restaurants. Anyway, my cousin, being my cousin, just had to say, "Whheeee!". It's easy to forget that she's four years older than me.

some waiters came around with candles after the first five minutes. My table didn;t get one. But, y'know, we were to cool anyways. Other people were still wandering around the buffet tables in the dark, and soon, we were up there with them, cautiously poking at food to make sure they were what we thought they were before getting them. My cousin's fiancee had a hell of a time, being vegitarian and whatnot.

When we were at the table, my older cousin entertained us with stories of her work at summer camp. Apparently, she and a fellow camp councillor encountered a book while searching for a book to read to the kids. She said it was called, "The Diary of Sarah Morton, A Day in the Life of a Pilgrim Girl". It included real photos instead of drawings, which made it even more entertaining when "Sarah" talked about what she wore, since there was a photo for each piece of clothing.

Yeah. After the meal, the lights finally came on, and my younger cousin and I were bored, so we went to Blockbuster Video, which was next door. Everyone else was talking ath their tables. It was boring at Blockbuster too, so we went back. Too bad Fabric Land was closed, I sure know I would have had fun in there.

After dinner, we all went home. Saturday, everyone came over to my house, and we goofed around until it was time to go to the ariport. I was in the kid's car. We had a fun time trying to find a place to park.

At the airport, My cousins, my sister, and I wandered around for the most of it. we came across on of those hockey machines in the arcade. You know, the ones that are sort of like foosball, but have hockey players, and a dome over it? We didn't pay, of course, but one of the hockey players had come off so we were hitting him around. Afterwards, we went to Smithbooks, where my cousin (the one that's four years older than me) was delighted by all the kids books. She's really, weird. That weirdo.

After my aunt was well on her way, we all went to Taste of Japan for Teppanyaki, and Ken is the best Teppanyaki chef EVAR. He made it interactive. Of course, we also had two less eggs in out fried rice because he wanted us to try cracking it the way he did, but it was all good. I tried catching a piece of egg in my mouth. It didn't work. Oh well. We made a lot of noise and other people stared.

Now I'm eating breakfast/lunch. Cup noodles, packed with deliciousness! Yum!

12:28 p.m.

I tried updating on Monday on the other computer, but both times it froze and I couldn't turn it back on. So I waite d until my sister's computer was available, but now I don't really want to type anything. Ehn.

Let's see... I've been going out more often than I really want to these pat few days. Firday was a big dinner with every possible family member. I met my other cousin's fiancee. I also realized how smart some of my other cousin's are, and how they have set an impossiblely high standard for the rest of us.

Saturday was Joan's birthday celebratory dinner. We had Hot Pot. I comsumed a lot of meat. I also thought I lost a wrench keychain of mine, but found it on the floor of my room three days later. Bowling was fun, but I sucked. For days afterward, two fingers of my right hand, my right thumb, and my right arm hurt. Coincidentally, on my left arm was some sort of bug bite that made my left arm ache. It swelled up and looked like a hive two inches across. Anyway, bowling rocked, and I reeked of amateur.

Sunday up to today was a blur of window shopping. My aunt from Brazil, who was staying with us, was about to open a new store and was looking around to see how other stores arraranged things. Unfortnately for me and the other kids in my family that were dragged along, it was all china stores. I have never seen so many unnescessarily expensive plates before. It was dulll. It didn't help that for the past few days, my stomach hurt. I think I ate something bad within the last few days. On the plus side, while visiting Fairview mall, I got to visit the House of Knives. Although I didn't get to buy anything, I really want to get some of the swords. I also got a new manga while at Chapters the other day. Ragnarok. Fun.

Speaking of mangas, I've been watching an unhealthy amount lately. My cousin came over yesterday, and we watched almost three hours of .hack//DUSK, and around eight hours of Rurouni Kenshin. We just sat in front of the TV all day. Other anime I've been watching include Big O, FLCL, Blue Gender, Trigun, The End of Evangelion movie, .hack//Dusk, kenshin, and a little bit of Boogiepop and Silent Mobius. Unfortunately, they're all on late at night, so I got to bed at 2:00, and wake up at 10:00, or 12:00, like today.

Actually when I woke up today, no one was home, except for my sister. Huh. Oh well.

Thursday, July 31, 2003
07:00 p.m.

I've been meaning to update recently, but I've been unable since my computer's on the fritz, so while I was waiting to use my sister's computer, I have forgotten everything I wanted to say. Well, most of it anyway.

Yesterday I went out to lunch with my family, uncle, cousin, and new cousin-in-law. It was a bit awkward for all of us. My sister and I were kind of shy, and I don't think she felt at ease in a Chinese restaurant. We were supposed to meet them at 11:20ish, but that was when I got out of bed. Whoops. I think we were an hour late. Oh well. It came as some relief that she didn't know our names because we didn't know hers. Har har har. I knows muh famirly good, hyuk hyuk! Well I know it know, and she might remember ours. At the end of the meal, we were a bit more relaxed, and my sister and I got souvenirs from their wedding.

In other family news, my aunt from brasil is coming to visit tomorrow and is staying at my house. I found out on Wednesday, and it was supposedly planned for quite some time. These things get by me.

Today I went to see the dentist. I dislike visiting the dentist. The pick scraping against my teeth really bother me, and I heartily dislike the aftertaste of the flouride. Of course, I still see a child's dentist (as does my sister! Laugh at the eighteen year old who's to lazy to plan her own dentist appointments so her dad puts her and her younger sister together at the same dentist to save time!) so I get the crappy not-rinse-out kind. Blegh. However, because I see a kids dentist, I get a free toothbrush, some floss, and sometime, I get a sticker. Cool eh?

I think my dad and isister think it's time to get new dentists and doctors. Everytime we see them, we're the oldest ones in the office. It's a bit embarrassing, but I'll miss the disney movies they play in the waiting area and offices.

I also went shopping for new glasses. Shopping meaning I sat there while people put glasses on me and asked which ones I liked while I shrugged vaguely. My dad also wanted to get my glasses fixed, because he said that they were crooked. I just think I have an asymetrical head. It took they guy twenty minutes to adjust them.

01:14 p.m.

Well, my computer's broken, which means that I'll be updating on my sister's computer from now on. Crud. Oh well, my computer is old and funky anyways....

I've been doing a surprising amount of family stuff. My cousin that I usually don't visit has been over a lot lately. Friday we went to the Cookstown outlet mall with him and my aunt. It was the most boring experience evar.

My cousin and I walked through it and visited all the stores we found interesting within ten minutes, but we had to stay for several hours as my aunt browsed the stores. Then we lost her and my grandmother. My cousin, sister and I spent several minutes sitting on a bench while my dad went to look for them. When he finally found them, they went into another store. Then another. Grrarrr.

Saturday I saw them again while we went out for tea with my other cousin and uncle. Overall, we had a very hyper day. One of my sister's friends called, and my older cousin was saying, "Zoom in! Zoom in!" to my other cousin an I. I bet we all sounded like idiots to my sister's friend.

Speaking of my older cousin, last week, she rented a Chinese movie that she heard was really scary. The english title is Bloody Buns, which I think is really stupid. The Chinese title translates to Human Meat Barbeque Pork Buns.

My dad, aunts and uncles say it was based on a true story which happened in Hong Kong. Apparently in the 70s, some guy in Hong Kong killed his employer and his whole family, which consisted of eight people. To dispose of the bodies, he would grind them up and bu them in the barbeque pork buns and sell them in the restaurant where he worked. The restuarant then got famous for it's delicious buns, so he just kept on killing and making these buns until the cops found out.

My cousin said she was forced to watch the whole thing since she tried to stop halfway. She said it wasn't as scary as it was gross. I'm glad I didn't watch it.

My younger cousin has installed a game into my sister's computer called Stronghold. It's fun. I suck at it though. I like planting death traps and fire pits though.

Kenshin is still on TV. That's good. I've also been watching Big O and Trigun when I can, although that means I go to bed at 2 am. I've been getting yelled at.

My sister bought the complete set of .hack//SIGN soundtrack CDs. They're really good. It has a crazy blend of folk music and techno. I have never heard an accordion accompanying a guitar that well before... It sounds better than how I'm describing them. Really, it does.

10:01 p.m.

Today I went out for lunch with my family and my uncle. Not that my uncle isn't family of course. I was refering to my immediate family, plus one. Yeah. So anyway, my uncle was still looking for a sutiable place to hold his dinner/banquet thing for my cousin next week.

Afterwards, we went home.

Then my dad took my sister and I to the optometrist. My word, has it been a year already? Oh how time does fly! ...yeah. Anyway, as always, they made us fill in a form about our previous visits and stuff. The form itself was pretty dull, but I didn't fill out one part of it. I didn't wasnt to put my doctor's name on. Dr. Koutsogiannopoulos is too long to write out, ya know? especially on a centimetre long line, because then I have to make sure I write straight. Bleh.

The appointment itself was normal. She put in some drops to enlarge my pupils. They stung like heck. She gave me a tissue to wipe the excess off. It was bright yellow, a shade I hadn't seen since that time I leaned into a small puddle of hydrochloric acid. Fun. I also couldn't focus on objects close to my face. Funner. My prescription got higher. Not by much though, so I could use my old glasses. I think my prescription is 125 and 150. Something like that.

My sister has funny eyes. You know how most people who needs glasses our age are nearsighted? She is perhaps the only person I know who is farsighted. Since the age of TWO. Isn't farsightedness something really old people have? My sister has always been the weird one in the family. She's the only lefty in the family too. *giggle*

When we left the building, my sister an I were blinded. With our pupils really dilated, the sun was much, MUCH brighter. We actually screamed. And stumbled around. We were squinting for the rest of the day.

Ohh!@ I also bought a cap gun today. My sister bought a cap bomb. We're going to have a lot of fun. I also have reason to believe that there are bullets in my house. I have yet to see evidence of a gun however. Fun.

08:49 p.m.

My dad's vacation starts tomorrow, and he wanted to take us to Newfoundland on a road trip. Naturally, I'm a bit "Ehn" since I'm a hermit, but as it turns out, we might not be able to go at all. Turns out, my family has all sorts of scattered plans for the next few days, PLUS my cousin in Halifax (or some such place) is getting married this Saturday, so he's coming back next week after the wedding to visit. Now I feel bad because I feel like I'm wasting my dad's vacation, even though I think he should go somewhere really nice since he puts up with me all the time. One day, when I'm a rich billionaire, I am going to make it up to him.

My dad also wants to teach me how to ride a bike, since I'm a dork and I don't know how. He says he'll to take me to Centreville and rent two bikes, but then I start to go on about how people will laugh at me and then my dad starts to laugh at my silliness. Or he could be laughing at me in advance. You never know. Honestly though, if I really ever want to learn how to ride a motorcycle, I need to ride a bike first. Although my uncle told me that some people try to learn without learning how to ride a bicycle first.

Anyway, my cousin is getting married, and I'm all like, whoa. I don't know, I haven't seen him since March or something, and even then it was more the six months since I had seen him last. Of course, that's because he's in the Navy. That's where he met his girlfriend/fiancee!

So anyway, for the longest time, I didn't even know he had a girlfriend, and when I found out he did, I was surprised, but it wasn't too shocking. Then one day I found out he was engaged, possibily for a long time. Now that I know he's getting married, and when, it still feels weird because... I don't know, he's my cousin. I knew him for 15 years, way before all this craziness. I still think of him as my cousin who is still really young and... Blah.

Anyway, there's going to be a big dinner my uncle and aunt are going to have for him. I bet I'll have to dress up. In a DRESS. *shrivel* Maybe I can try to wear nice pants or something... Dress... Feh.

Here's an amusing note. I have another cousin who is getting married soon, and I don't even know what his girlfriend looks like! It's even funnier since I live next door to him, and lately I've been seeing a car parked outside that I think is hers, but I can't recall what she looks like. Hmmm. Moe know her family good! Yar!
