A Poem to Angelo of Dragon Quest VIII

Angelo, dear Angelo

How do I love thee

You’ve swept me off my feet

The first time that I saw you

You’re a suave, charismatic, knight in shining armor

You’re an expert swordsman who can defeat all monsters in one fell swoop

You’re a healer who helps his party in times of dire need

You’re bow, staff, and even fisticuffs even comes in handy whenever you’re in a pinch

Angelo, dear Angelo

How do I love thee

Ai Shiteru (I love you)

IT HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!!

After months of anticipation, Final Fantasy IV Advance is finally released for the Game Boy Advance. The remake of the classic FFIV for the SNES (or FFII if you've played the North American version of FFIV EasyType) gets a makeover you won't believe: New weapons and armor, a randomly-bulit dungeon that's unlocked after you've finished the game, a bestiary list, mini-games, and much, much more.

If you're a fan of the Final Fantasy franchise, a newcomer, or even a GBA owner who's looking for a new game to play with this holiday season, then Final Fantasy IV Advance is the game for you.

All good things must come to an end. Plus, a surprise.

I watched the finale of Power Rangers SPD last night, and I got sad. Why, you ask? Because, it was such a good season, albeit abbreviated (38 episodes, thanks a lot). At least there's Power Rangers Mystic Force to look forward to when it premires in Feburary, 2006. Mystic Force, BTW, is the American adaptaion of the current Japanese Sentai (i.e., Taskforce) series, Magiranger, and I'm looking forward to the newest addition to the Power Rangers series.

Now the surpise: I'M GOING TO COLLEGE!! Starting today, I'm going to take online web design courses at Kaplan University, so I won't have to leave home and attend the school in person. I'll graduate in 2007, so I'm looking forward to take the next chapter of my life. :D

Credited once again!

Thanks to Dave Mackey, I've been credited once again. Why, you ask? It's because I've found a website by former SNL Band and current Hall and Oates bassist, Tom "T-Bone" Wolk. I was previously credited by said person when I've posted a petition to convince SNL producer, Lorne Michaels, to get the SNL Band more camera time. And, if he brings the website back, you can see for yourself on the site's home page.

Besides, it's almost been two months since my last entry, so I'd decide to take a break from playing Runescape long enough to add one. :D

Peter Jennings, 1938-2005

It's a sad day in the world of Journalism. Late last night, I've learned that former ABC World News Tonight anchorman, Peter Jennings, had succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 67, four months after he resigned due to his diagnosis. Peter was born in Toronto, Canada where his father became the first tv journalist for the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corperation). He dropped out of high school during the 10th grade and eventually went into broadcasting.

He joined ABC in 1964 where he anchored the evening news from 1965 until 1967. He'd then went to every square inch of this planet reporting the news such as the Vietnam War, the massacre in Munich, Germany during the 1972 Summer Games, the tearing down of the Berlin Wall in November, 1989, hosting the Peabody-award winning coverage of Millennium Eve, and 60 straight hours of 9/11 coverage.

On April 5th, 2005, Peter announced to the world that he's been diagnosed with lung cancer. He even admitted to being a chain-smoker before quitting cold turkey a decade ago. That evening happened to be his last night as anchorman of ABC World News Tonight. In over the past several months, the three anchormen who duked it out Monday thru Friday for over 2 decades have resigned: Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather, and now Peter Jennings. We now have a new generation of evening news anchormen who'll take us into a new era of broadcast news: Brian Williams, Bob Scheffer, and an ABC World News Tonight anchorperson yet to be determined either Charles Gibson or Elizabeth Vargas-Cohn.

As a High-School Journalism student, I vowed that if I were to work at either a magazine, newspaper or a local tv station, that I'd report the news truthfully. I am sadded with Jennings' loss and my condolences go out to his widow and two grown children. We'll miss you, Peter. Goodbye and God bless.

On a brighter note: In case any of you wondered if I got the Dragon Ball Z DVD that I won back in Dec. 2003, we'll I've picked it up, got home to watch it, and I was blown away. I even got three, free DBZCCG cards with Broly on them. I should've posted this news a long time ago. Well, better late than never. :D
