You'll have to pardon my blog, but it has nothing to do with www.pitas.com. The background image is down due to a server problem. Not to worry b/c Nishi-chan complaining about it to, and we both hope that it's fixed ASAP.
Believe it or not, folks, I just won in a local contest that I've participated in recently. Here's proof if you don't believe me:

I can't believe that I won a Dragonball Z DVD. Since I'm a fan of Akira Toriyama-sama's artwork (he's the one who created DBZ), I'll add it to my ever-growing DVD collection.

It's that time of the year again, folks: Daylight Savings ends at 2:00 AM. So, make sure to set your clock back an hour.

Don't flush Rush, folks. It's Disney (ESPN's parent company) who should get the blame.
I don't care about what he said was "racist", but 100% factual. It's the boneheads at the alphabet network owned by the House of Mouse's fault for grilling Rush about his comment. And, he quits despite the contraversy. Good move, Mr. Limbaugh.
Speaking of boneheads: Disney's responsible for the bastardizations of wonderful anime tv shows and movies (i.e., Sailor Moon, Spirited Away, etc.), which includes newcomer "Knights of the Zodiac" (a.k.a., Saint Seiya). Adding screengrabs plus a not-so-wonderful remake of A Flock of Seagulls' 1982 opus, "I Ran", as Ko/tZ's opening theme won't grab you a lot of viewers that easily. Look what you've done to Sailor Moon in 1995, and now you're repeating history in 2003.
For those of you who want to say "FUCK YOU, ABC/DISNEY!", I salute you.

Today, I have some good news and some bad news.
First, the good news: Today is Steve Turre's 55th birthday. Happy birthday to one of Dave Mackey's favorite trombone players. Plus, Once Upon A Time in Mexico starring Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayak opens in theaters today.
And now, the bad news: The entertainment world has just lost two men named John: John Ritter and Johnny Cash. They will both be missed.

I apologize to those who have accessed my blog during the past 24-48 hrs, because I've had a devil of a time with my tag board.
First, http://www.tag-board.com experienced some loading problems concerning those who have opted for the non-enhanced version (such as me). For those who opted for the enhanced version (Nishi for example) didn't have those problems.
And for the second part, I've decided to change the background on my tag board from plain white to green and sugar pink. They just happen to be the favorite colors of my favorite Inner Senshi from Sailor Moon, Sailor Jupiter. But, I ran into some problems concerning the size of my said tag board, and the back ground got messed up. So, I just fixed it and everything's back to normal. BTW, I've added a counter from VGWS. Neat, huh?

I now have a nephew, folks! Ashton David Johnson born at 1:00 PM CT to my sister, Scarlett Ray-Johnson and her husband (and my brother-in-law), Dave.
Congratulations!

Being Fair And Balanced Day, I'd thought that I'd also participate.
The reason: The jerks at the Fox News Channel are suing former SNL writer/feature player, Al Franken, due to the fact that he took the words, fair and balanced, and use it (which he did) on the title of his forthcoming book, "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right".
What's so fair and balanced about FNC? For starters:
- they got rid of Matt Drudge
- Bill O'Reilly never answered my e-mail on his program, "The O'Reilly Factor" (and I wrote to him twice)
- John Gibson joined the network after being with MSNBC (no reason why)
- Paula Zahn went to CNN
I've had FNC on my cable provider since 1/1/1997, and I've never seen anything like this.
I hope you're happy, Mr. Rupert Murdoch, because I'm not.

The past two weeks have been rough on me. First, my grandfather passed away on Monday, July 12th and last Friday, I got laid off from DoubleDave's after being on the job for 10 months.
My life hasn't been fair to me at all. Earlier this month, I've made plans to purchase Sailor Moon Season 1 DVD Boxed Set, but my paychecks weren't high enough for me to purchase both the BSSM DVD Boxed Set and buy an armload of video games at the same time. It's not fair!

I had to delete the previous post because I've consider it wrong and I'm sorry if I've offended anyone.

The San Antonio Spurs won the 2003 NBA Championship last night, and now #50, David Robinson, officially retires from the NBA. We'll miss you, Admiral.
