*disclaimer* yes I need to go to bed but I work best in the wee hours of the morning ^_^;; this is entirely my opinion and should be taken as such. However, I am very much open to any correction or rebuttal on this opinion.*disclaimer*

Now I've been on the CML for 2 years (or at least that's what I remember) and its mostly X talk, not that I mind the discussion of X and Tokyo Babylon and what Seishirou said to Subaru when Seishirou *spoiler*. I don't mind it at all, however, I noticed that any other Clamp work gets lost in the pile of messages. I don't mind updates on X well before I get my Asuka or what Kamui said to Fuuma. Infact I don't really care for X at all. (except that its pretty art). Don't get me wrong, I don't /hate/ X, I don't care much for it.

But sometimes, its tedious to open the mailbox and see 3 people discuss X and how its not running in Asuka that month and how they feel put out. o.o Or a few days later others ask for the release date of the next issue of Asuka. (If they're so impatient they might as well save the stress take a walk and wait for the takubon to come out every 4-5 months o.o).

Also discussion about a non-X-TB series gets lost in the messages and the thread dies quickly, while we speculate on and on about what Subby heard from Seishirou. ^^;;; I mean the Sakurazukamori can say so much right? "I need a light.", "What nice ofuda you have.", "How are those Star scars on your hands?", "Omae ga ..." etc. ^_~

I originally picked up Asuka for Mikan no Tsuki, a very well done and well drawn story by Red Company and Haruko Iida (who I love to bits!). I slowly noticed other wonderful stories that run in it (Pretear, Billion Girl, DNAngel, Lagoon Engine, the short running Speaker story, the Narushima one shot, etc.) Infact when Ahirunou Oujisama started running in Asuka I dubbed the magazine "Asuka on Crack" because the stories were so unique and so well drawn (or not so well drawn ^^;;) not to mention a bit weird. ^^;;

I guess it boils down to the fact that life revloves around X and yes on one part its a bad thing. It doesn't open up discussion on Angelic Layer, Clover, Chobits, Suki Dakra Suki, or my personal favorite Wish, the rerelease of 20 Face Mensou or Duklyon, RG Veda, or even talk about Legal Drug or MKR. If there is talk its introductory and then the thread dies. I don't mind the talk. Its easy to ignore, but it limits discussion of other great (or not so well known) Clamp works.

It bothers me that Askua is only known for X (and then DNAngel second... but that's not the point).

I would love to discuss other manga that runs in Asuka what (Pretear, Mikan no Tsuki, Ahirunou Oujisama, Billion Girl, the short running Sugisaki series that keep popping up...) ie. updates, characters, speculation, etc. and I'm interested in starting a list (and even moderating it. I check mail every day so why not @_@), but that's just me. I prefer MLs b/c its central, instead of going to a bbs (and there some out there ^^;) Call it the AsukaMag ML or something. (I'm not creative at 6am x_x) And since its about Asuka X can be talked about but other series are encouraged more. (Technicalities ^^;;). Its not limited to just series currently running in Asuka but stories that previously ran in Asuka. (and maybe Mystery DX and the now defunct Fantasy DX?)

But that's just me. *shrug* I leave this idea open and am open for any disucssion. *steph points to the Hideaway section of her blog*

Okay, I have bad taste in manga, or I have weird taste (I've been called weird so I'll go with weird... *steph points to her Mayonaka blog layout as proof and points to her love of Waseda Chie manga*) but this series that runs in the magazine Shounen Ace is really cool. Its just fantastic, art and story and just the errie mystery and the way the mangaka draws people. That and the character Yuri is like a very tame Eriol. XD

I know nothing about Anne Freaks except for the fact that:

a) Yuri-kun reminds me of Eriol then again so does he ^^;;
b) It runs in a magazine that I'll never be able to get my hands on unless I subscribe (yay -_-)
c) Its a neat word play on Anne Frank (tho I don't think that was intentional)
d) Its a mystery/supernatural story?

Okay that's about it. ^^;;

Shape of the Heart

Ummmm I need to rechapter this fic, its 61 pages and chapter 5 is 24 pages long. o.O ph34r I'm also archiving it on ff.net their archiving system is easier than eating keeki!

I saw CCS Movie 2, and its so cute I was one big fuzzy ball of WAFFY. The Kerochan ni omakase was so cute I have no words to express how well done the 2nd movie was. Except for the 15 million times Sakura said "Watashi... watashi... anata koto ga..." (interuption) It was formulaic but it was so nice at end. *spoiler* When she says it. *Steph cheered* And then Shaoran says "Ore mo, Sakura da yo." *Steph cried!* And Sakura gets happy and the sun rises and launches herself at Shaoran. *Steph runs for tissue.* It was as good as the manga ending, two of my favorite characters finally get hit by the clue card. I can see the entire S&S fandom sigh with relief. ^^;; *spoiler* I replayed the end. It was so good. ;_;

Listening to: Mr. Lonely - Koji Tamaki (who is part of the group Cage and Asuka I think, its been a while) This song was the ED song for a beautiful yet semi-genki nai dorama called Love Story, which featured Koji Tamaki (duh) and Nanako (waii!). It was the story about a rich department store owner who has a terminal illness. He has a cold heart, Nanako and Koki Tamaki (who are poor tenants of an apartment complext the department store owner owns and wants to tear down) try to keep his spirits up and teach him the value of trusting people.

Well that's done at least. Now to go and do the rest (like content). However what is planned for layer.keekiland.com (har har great pun! XD) is a few things: Summaries for the anime and manga (imo the translation project is underway so that defeats the purpose of summaries per chapter...), also a very cool battle guide, like one of those tiered guides that shows who won/lost battles and the progression to the final battle. ^^ I had to scrap the original design because it looked too complicated. It was pretty just too complicated. ^^;; Original design can be seen here and here.

Yick, the greatest way to get rid of a page bunny... think of all the content it takes to put a page together and that makes it go away. @_@

Hmm you know it summer when you read stuff like the cffml rules completely and you've caught up on mail. *Steph bows down to F(uu)MA*

Hmmmm on a fic note: I am slowly working in a subplot that popped up while writing Shape of the Heart. (2 now that I think about it). Yuri and Kimiko's plot and Tomoyo (who abruptly disappears in the fic o.o) x_x I'm glad I have Thurs-Tues off. Aside from that there a just plot points that are referred to but never written points that are just dropped and never picked up again. x_x

Let's not mentiont that Break the Heart is slowly getting worked on too.

I'm also writing Chance which is actually a angsty Kero story o_O (ph34r me). Chance can be found here. I'm warning you once and that's it. This fic is rough and just not canon to anything at all. Oh well tra-la-la.

The Angelic Layer page (read obession)is at 40% done (why can't I attack the Asuka/LaLa info page with the same enthusiasm? o.o), page designs are coming along nicely. (Mini Oujirou shrine may come next. *_*) I just need to work on anime ep summaries and manga summaries (which will be *whole* managa summaries not indv chapters b/c I would be doing fans a great disservice). Character pages go up first since they take longer.

I got two Shounen Ace, and needless to say they are chapters that are covered in vol 4 of Angelic Layer. I'd like to add that these are worth more than what I paid for them. (that will be remidied soon) for a few reasons:
(1) Oujirou Chapter in S.Ace 3!
(2) Angelic Layer Cover of S.Ace 1
(3) Pull-out poster in S.Ace 1
(4) Oujirou in S.Ace 3!
(5) Color insert in S.Ace 1
(6) Wizard shows up in S.Ace 3!

From a collector's pov on telephone books, S.Ace 1 is just packed with stuff that is worth at least original cover price. S.Ace 3 has the first chapter of the battle between *spoiler*Oujirou/Wizard and Misaki/Hikaru which apparently was a very expected/watched for/climactic fight*spoiler* Imo it almost makes me want to get Shounen Ace, there's a very interesting and well drawn series called Anne Freaks that runs in S.Ace. Gek rambling, this should have gone in the manga blog. @_@

Oh! I got to ride a Ford Explorer today! I know there's a stigma with SUVs and yuppies etc. But I got to ride Packratt's 98 Ford Explorer! <3 <3! I love ford explorers (because of the fact that I have to climb into the car and I feel so tall. ^_^) It was so coooooooool. *_* Its a stick shift too and it goes vroooom. *_*

This weekend seems to be the day for birthdays. ^^ Today was my mom's birthday and tomorrow there's another one. ^^;;

I wonder if its weird to write a fic based on a "what if" assumption. As in "what if Kero-chan decided that he didn't want to be a plushie any more?" I mean I have this half baked fic where Kero-chan meets the owner of a bakery (of course ^_-). Turns out that he talks to her (incognito) and they both fall in love. (A sort of not face to face you've got mail, only not as funny). Problem is, Kero-chan is a lion/bear/winged plushie. What would he do? I think I'd tie in some angsty "I've got some humanity too." kind of feelings into the fic. But it was an interesting situation. Yukito gets Touya, Nakuru chases after Touya, but what about Kero-chan and Suppi? (Suppi would probably be happy as a plushie cat with wings but Kero-chan seems like someone that won't.) I already have kero's character in mind, he's very good looking and very "golden" (tanned, gold blonde hair,amber eyes. lanky body). He's very sure of himself and slightly vain but he's insecure inside. ^^;; I don't know... its weirding me out as I write this. =P

Okay that's the lack of sleep talking, it is a real fic, its just to weird to keep writing even though I write bits of it every now and then. ^^;; Ignore me.

Oh and I got a cool mini plastic voltron toy! (with teeny capt'n keith to fit in the cockpit) Its from the CG Voltron (that my sister thought was a rerun/original voltrun series) but the Voltron toy itselfis still the same, Just plastic and smaller. It brings me back to the days when I'd watch Voltron, Robotech, He-man, and She-ra. ^^ I miss 80's tv. Anybody remember Beverly Hills Teens (with pool limo and ice cream bar?) and Jem and the Holograms? The smurfs? XD

Well the paper is turned in, the conclusion was crappy but the observation/analysis part should make up for that. Total pages: 23, Pages with the report-type writing: 15 (incl 19 footnoted bibliography x_x), Pages that were extra: 8 (1 cover sheet, 2 pages of tables, 5 pages of book notes nice pictures etc). I'm curious to see if I did fairly well during my delirous writing. ^_^;; Of course now I'm staying up for a 8 am final and knowing my history of sleeping through 3 alarms... I think I will try to make a run for Starbucks... XD

Hmmm to write a SotH Lemon or not... ^_-

Hmm I was planning on going home later today but after this stay up till 6 am stint I think not... I will promptly go to bed as soon as I finish eatting something and my final. I'd like to note that trying to find evidence for federal controls over the justice system leads to an increase in crime is a b*tch to find. X_x Especially when they have to have built in federalism impacts! >_<

I went Emi's earlier today and had cake! Like ravioli hunting I went keeki hunting and went to the nearest Epplers (in Stonestown!) and got a slice of lemon keeki, choco keeki, and a cream puff. ^^ I had lemon keeki and it was gooood. -^_^- Maybe I'll stop by Epplers again...

Pitas.com is also the home of answers! Apparently AOL has this wierd thing with the isp and their cache. (Which annoys me XE) Which is why sometimes I get Michi's Blog instead of my own when the address section says "rurichan.pitas.com" AOL rar, if I wasn't so dependent on your mail and stuff I'd kill you, okay not kill but maim. grrr. I'm a AOL junkie ^_^;; so sue me. I just like the way they work.

I also finally did something for Tilda Ene now it has a cute Mizuki and Sano picture. ^_^

I got tired of staring at grey and orange, its not very pleasing to the eyes. (Then again the army isn't pleasing in general so I doubt Battle School was either ^_-). This new layout features caps from the music vid Mayonaka wa Junketsu by Shiina Ringo (who is imo one of the coolest J-Pop/Rock/indie singers in Japan). The video is just pure Shiina Ringo (crack). So my question before I end this entry is: Does your cat turn into a mecha machine gun? ^_-
