Juri & Puu: Doroshii.com looks super cool! I love it!

I picked up two books today too, I, Robot by Issac Asimov and The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin. I found like 20 reference books on the Sci-Fi alone. Especially when I found 5 books that will be very useful to my paper. Jackpot!

I, Robot is a cool book, its short stories as told by a Doctor at US Robots (sometimes I read that as US Robitics...). I haven't opened The Left Hand yet. I have a Calc midterm. These books is a reward for relearning derivatives. @_@

scifan.com = science fiction nexus

After an interesting debate in #fy (gomen my test group) I came up with what I hope is an adequate list of sci-fi books to write my paper with.

[added 3:00 a.m.]

Book List
year/title/author

1818 - Frankenstein - Mary Shelley
1865 - From the Earth to the Moon - Jules Verne
1895 - The Time Machine - H.G. Wells
1949 - 1984 - George Orwell
1950 - I, Robot - Issac Asimov
1950 - The Martian Chronicles - Ray Bradbury
1951 - Foundation - Issac Asimov
1953 - Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury
1959 - Starship Troopers - Robert A. Heinlein
1965 - Dune - Frank Herbert
1968 - 2001: A Space Odyssey - Arthur C. Clarke
1969 - The Left Hand of Darkness - Ursula K. Le Guin
1984 - Neuromancer - William Gibson
1985 - Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card
1999 - Ender's Shadow - Orson Scott Card (comparison analysis to Ender's Game)

This was also done under the consultation of the Nebula and Hugo Awards Lists and the Sci-fi lists at Scifan.com (which is now my best friend.) *_*

korosu!

Okay so what is up with Tokyo Babylon fics and death? At least twice a week a new TB fic is written and its a deatfic. o_o Are we enamoured with the idea that death is cool? I would have thought that X was the more death-y type to fic about.

I love weird manga, and I mean weird manga. Nervous Venus had weird art, Mikan no Tsuki has a unique story. Supersonic Angel Engine is just weird all around! XD

I can't help but blog about this manga because I redid a search for it and more sites have popped up about it. But now Ex.org has done a review about it! I love Motoni Modoru's art style and just the over all feel of the story.

I want to redo my layout for April. *_* Kadkokawa~ what an amazing publishing company.

TamaTama~ the Big O video is so cool! =D

Will people please stop smacking me upside the head and tell me what's going on?

Yick, I hate being sick. I forget things, like this paper I had to do for my Argumentation class, not that its a hard paper, its tedious. =P and rather boring. I mean who uses the term "provincialism" in their argumentation any more? I can see the word ad hominem being used but not provincialism. ^^;;

So being a poor sick person and being that I know the professor he gave me lee-way to finish the paper. (which I have to do by today I think...). I'm kind of out of it because I was prepared to go swimming today and now I have to write this stupid paper. =P

Also someone in this lab is bordering on fanboy smell. o_O

Still researching, still doing work, oh well there goes my swimming hour. -_- Now for a rant.

[begin rant]
I've probably mentioned before how I don't like being lied to. And its very true, dealing with the truth is better than dealing with a lie and then a truth. But I also don't like it when people don't say things that are obviously directed towards me. I'm mostly talking about things that both parties know about. Just tell me, its easier, I'll respect you for your honesty and then let me deal with it! How hard is that? But to not tell me and then to write about it and to probably hide it and have it fester is not /healthy/ at all. -_- Well I don't think so at least. It bothers me that people would hold such small grudges closer to their heart. Grudges that most friends would brush off. I'm not the only one that's exempt from this, but at least I tend to be more forgiving than I should be. I have too soft a heart to be angry for too long (and if you did make me angry then o_o). That's all I have to say about it.
[End rant]

Maria Tachibana-sama ***.***

Cosplay is cool. You can cosplay as characters you resemble or characters you admire. ^^ But there are limits to cosplay (read: sailormoon cosplayers....).

Midway thru a conversation about cosplay in #fy I was thinking about who to cosplay. Suddently from impluse I wanted cosplay as Maria Tachibana.

[begin kero sparkle mode]

Now I've never played the Sakura Taisen games (*steph makes a note of this on her "Get in Japan" list*) but I love the series anyways. Its a beautiful combination of turn of the century Japan with fantasy. Sakura never really interested me much, but Maria Tachibana did. The very first picture of Sakura Taisen I saw was Maria and Sakura in opera costumes holding hands. I naturally thought Maria was a guy. ^^;; When I found out she was a girl it still didn't matter. I was hooked.

She's a smart leader and a is cool with a gun. I dunno she emits waves of "coolness" when I see pictures of her. *_*

[end kero sparkle mode]

Now let's take a look at some Steph stats:

KeroSteph

Height: 5'1" (at best)
Hair color: long dark brown
Eye color: asian brown =P
Age: 21
Ethnic background: asian

Now let's look at Tachibana-sama *_*:

Maria Tachibana

Height: 186 cm (6'1'')
Hair color: blond, short (wedge A-line cut)
Eye color: green
Age: 19
Ethinic background: Russian/Japanese

I got my work cut out for me. ^^ But it will be fun. XD I want to cosplay as one of my favorite characters. Besides she's so bad ass with the gun and all...

First Years yay!

o_o my life is so sad, I'm excited to see the 3rd episode of First Years. And that is the impending sound of doom for the series. (Usually series that I really like that runs its first season usually dies its first season, an exception to this was Roswell which died at 2 1/2 seasons ^_^;;;.)

Not that First Years is realistic. I was thinking about the chances of six students from the same law school being hired by a firm in SF is kinda slim. And this whole I own a car I can drive anywhere in SF thing makes me *laugh*! I mean seriously, I want them to take *one* episode where they tackle *living* in SF. ^_- But either way they have a nice show and I love watching it. XD

Flo~: thankyouthankyouthankyou for driving me home, I wub j00! XD

Chibi choco keeki~

24 choco cupkeeki were freely and happily distributed. I also have one Cherry badge that belongs to Jimmy L. (gomen gomen it will be priority mailed with delivery confirmation as promised! ;_;). But I had fun and the cool part was I went home to my own bed and slept for 10 hrs afterwards. XD

If you saw 4 dancing girls in the back of the Karaoke room at Fanime on Saturday, I was one of them. ^_-

The greater part of March.

^^;; I should have archived sooner, but I'm lazy. If you open a dictionary and look up the word lazy, you'll see my picture there. I was a successful genetic engineering experiement. You see they took the genes of a sloth and spliced them into my DNA code. Wha la!

I'm feeling very anti-social. Its the night before Fanime and I'm chickening out, I don't want to go to Fanime anymore even though over half of # will be there and expecting cake. So its me and 24 cupcakes taking 1 bus, 1 train and 1 light rail down to Fanime. (Hopefully in one piece...). But guilt always makes me go.

Guilt: yeah go
Steph: yeah I'll go
Lazy: but its like 2 hrs just to go with 24 friggin cupcakes!
Common-sense: you should have never offered to bring cupcakes.
Kerochan: but its cupkeeki!
Steph: shut up I'll sleep on it!
Current count: Guilt is first with common-sense in a nice second.

I'm also at a deliema. I saw some beautiful color art for a Mouryuu Kiden layout. And I was hit with the design bug. Here are the results of the bug. [ Netscape ] and [ IE ] -=- Here's the problem, even after having the manga for over 3 years the story line still makes me go "wtf!?" ^^;; One of my options is offering Team Bonnet the layout.

On another note, I kinda find it annoying that I design for a 600 x 800 resolution, but its just a small gripe. I work with a 1024 x 768 resolution so all the layouts for 600 x 800 look on the small size. ^^;; I don't mind making multiple layouts (see April doki-doki) but its a minor gripe.

I'm also working on an uber spiffy Batgirl page. But its a brainy page (it has an indepth analysis of the characters of Batgirl, specifically Batgirl herself.) Its sort of weird but oh well... It was really pretty until Photoshop had a fatal error and defaulted before I could save it. I'm not angry it didn't take that long. =P Here's the first draft of the layout (and I think I'll stick with it...). [ batgirl ]. (its for 1024 x 768 for now, it looks pretty when its big *_*). Plus having the url: bat-cave.poisonapple.net sounds cool. XD

Listening to: Niji - L'Arc en Ciel (the album version) this song has such a cool opening. XD

[Edited 1:43 am]

TamaTama~ I was deleting old stuff from my compu when I ran across the Utena Movie Trailer. If you want this to put up on your page (or something...) let me know, if not I'm prolly gonna delete it. ^^;
