Without due care and attention

The world is as the world drives. Constantly exceeding the speed limit and selfishly disregarding the rules of the road. In our perceived anonymity, we race mindlessly towards the inevitable crash. And when our luck runs out, as it must, with our lack of responsibility, we blame it on the other guy.

Random thoughts

Things mom warned us about........hiphuggers....panties....concerts.

Wonder what would happen if you put Saddam and Dubya in a room with Dr. Phil.....they need to get over it!!

If an infinite number of rednecks riding in an infinite number of pickup trucks fire an infinite number of shotgun rounds at an infinite number of highway signs, they will eventually produce all the world's great literary works in Braille.

The name coffee comes from the Arabic word qahwah, meaning wine, and not from the town of Kaffa, in Ethiopia (Abyssinia), as many writers have supposed. Coffee was first mentioned in literature by Rhazes, an Arabian physician.
Will there be an American boycott of coffee???.....I'm not dumping my Starbucks shares just yet.

The public will believe anything, so long as it is not founded on truth. Edith Sitwell (1887 - 1964)

Spring ride

The first ride of spring...actually, the first ride in a long time....breathing brisk air, smelling the freshness, and photo-ops that flash by unnoticed in a car. Ok, so Ansel Adams I'm not, but if you click on the thumbs, they'll give you some sense of my ride. And the bonus was, I made it home just before the rain.

The right to bear arms

With the title of my blog, I couldn't resist this one......but was he naked??

Oh, and then there's this little item from Chuck Sheperd at MSNBC:
Some recent accidental self-shootings: Jason Gins, 19, Baton Rouge, La., January, in the genitals (gun stuffed in waistband during getaway from robbery); Michael Bent, 30, New York City, September, hit an artery near the groin (fatal) (fooling with gun in car while talking to his girlfriend); Randal Lewis, 40, near St. Louis, September, in the head (fatal) (while demonstrating to 12-year-old son how to unload gun); Robert E. Slay Jr., 55, Gonzalez, La., October, leg (trying on pants at an outlet store); Dr. Steve Kyplesky, 57, Raceland, La., hand (fumbling with gun in his truck's glove compartment); Dale B. Grimmett, 41, Ione, Wash., shoulder (pointed rifle at himself while cleaning it); 15-year-old high school student, Detroit, December, leg (bent over to pick up pencil in class). [The Advocate (Baton Rouge), 1-28-03] [New York Post, 9-30-02] [St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 10-1-02] [The Advocate (Baton Rouge), 10-29-02] [WAFB-TV (Baton Rouge), 1-6-03] [Spokesman-Review (Spokane), 1-9-03] [Detroit Free Press, 12-3-02]

While visiting Las Vegas a few years ago, an American I met, was aghast to find out we can't own hand guns here in Canada. He was however, both aware and jealous of, our government funded health care system.

Nothing's cozier than a good storm

Wow....what a difference a day makes!.....it's pouring and blowing a west coast gale but I'm happy as a lark...manic depressive?..obsessive compulsive??...dumb and dumber??....maybe it was those MickeyD's fries I had at 11:30 last night...now there's a marketing idea.............whatever it was, this is the levelest, hence, happiest day I've had in this two year struggle -I'm ecstatic- I feel like I could conquer the world...oh yea, someone else is busy with that one....and on that subject...I read today that the Oscars will go ahead as scheduled despite the war..the show must go on, oops...or must it??...apparently some millionaire baseball players don't agree..they've decided it's unsafe to play pre-season games in Japan...wonder how they feel about playing in Toronto or Montreal??...hmmm, does this mean the "Braves" will be changing their name?...politics aside, you gotta love America...which reminds me, I have to run to Wal-Mart for batteries.....later kids.

Two down, three to go...yup, that kind of week

I thought it was Monday's that were suppose to be blue......just seems to creep in and consume one's spirit...and in the middle of a warm spring day too....where's the justice in that?...justice??..in my world?...tooo funny.ok...enough self pity....saw the largest moon I've ever seen, coming up over the ocean tonight on my way south...was beautiful..and no camera!!.did take some pics last night since it was nice out...here's a couple......steamy window
and my lair I may post a few more over the next couple of days. And to finish...(am I ever finished?)...on a lighter note than I began...here are some stupid quotes....I may ramble on incessantly and spout drivel at times, but at least no one's keeping notes.....peace.

If I knew where I was going...I'd have been there by now

I heard a sportscaster today, remarking negatively on France's anti-war stance....I wonder if his son's are going to Iraq to die??....I think if people had sex more often, not only would the world be a nicer place, men wouldn't have the energy for wars......and on that note, here's a peace movement I can get behind.

Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want

Saying a prayer for an amazing young man tonight....Mattie Stepanek...although I've never met him, he has made me laugh and cry and think...his is a remarkable spirit. While the testosterone of the world races to the boil, his gentle peacefulness gives me hope....I heard a quip recently about a politician who complained of having a recurring nightmare...he kept dreaming the money he was spending was his...it strikes me, if there was a law, that all wars had to be fought on the instigators own streets...there might be less bloodshed....hug your family...smile at your neighbour....say hello to a stranger.

Smile when you say that.

We seem to have become a society that expects others to take responsibility for us, and our actions, or the lack thereof."The government should do something about that"....has become the catch phrase of the day...ahem...uh.....er....we are the dam governement!!Ok.....taking a breath...ohm padme ohmne ohm...or something to that effect...I rant....I rave....but I also see beauty and good in life, and there is so much of it , if you only open your mind.If you ride my bus, there'll be a few detour's, but then you may see scenery that you weren't expecting too.And finally, at least for now, whether anyone reads this is not important........that I've written it is.
