My friend Katie made this button for me. Please go visit ELEMONTOPIA and see her talented work.

I saw missanthropy do this and it worked so here goes. Does anyone have an extra Gmail invite they'd like to part with? I'd be ever so grateful.

A special spirit left us yesterday..... Mattie J.T. Stepanek, 1990-2004

When I Die (Part II)

When I die, I want to be
A child in Heaven.
I want to be
A ten-year-old cherub.
I want to be
A hero in Heaven,
And a peacemaker,
Just like my goal on Earth.
I will ask God if I can
Help the people in Purgatory.
I will help them think,
About their life,
And their spirits,
About their future.
I will help them
Hear their Heartsongs again,
So they can finally
See the face of God,
So soon.
When I die,
I want to be,
Just like I want to be
Here on Earth.         November 1999 © Matthew Joseph Thaddeus Stepanek

Rest in peace Maddie, you made a difference.

While you were out.....

I like to keep things as positive as possible here, barring of course the occasional rant, so posts like the previous one aren't going to become a regular feature. I can hear the collective sigh of relief from all three of you. I would like to thank April for her thoughts on the subject and excellent suggestion on how to exorcise some of the demons.

After wrestling with emotions the last few days, in some glorious form of serendipity, one of my daughters surprised me with a visit for Father's Day. To say her timing was impeccable would be an understatement. We had a wonderful visit, just the two of us as Mom was away for the weekend. After enjoying an alfresco brunch we "did" Home Depot as she wanted to build an outdoor planter for a friend's upcoming birthday. It doesn't get much more Father's Day than that....lol. We had a wonderful time in the yard doing projects, talking and laughing. And in the spirit of the day she even asked for my advice from time to time. To think I have four more just like her...I am truly blessed.
