The puppy connection......
My next new find is Kristie over at Divine Distraction. She expresses herself extremely well, is open and very funny. And although I've never seen or spoken with her, I think she's tres sexy. Go over and see for yourself. Oh, and make sure you say hi. I have a sense she prefers people to participate, and I like that too. The last new blog I found recently isn't really one at all, but three. They're all from the same family and while I think both the mother's and father's on their own are well worth a read, it's the daughter's that won me over. She's six, and with her parent's writing help, portrays life through a child's eyes. If the stress of a complicated life is getting to you, take a minute and give her a visit. She'll keep you grounded on the journey.

Make alove to da camera baby..... Susan aka Tundrababe posed an interesting question recently. She wondered how someone with as much power and money as George Bush can't seem to have a decent photo taken. I noticed that our new Prime Minister has the same problem. Fortunately for them, and us, after November their respective snapshots will start to fade. Bush for the obvious reason and Martin because his minority government is destined for collapse shortly after parliament sits this fall. So lets enjoy these Kodak moments while we still can.

Summer in the city.... I just arrived home from a few days in Vancouver. While there I heard people complain about the heat, the government, the traffic, and the lack of low-carb gelato. I saw families strolling the seawall in the evening, a guy creating rock art on the beach and people dancing in the park. I watched men offer their seats to women and children every time one got on the bus I was riding. I witnessed a driver politely hold up traffic on Denman St. while parallel parking, because he thought his car might block the picture I was taking. I heard languages being spoken from all over the world. I saw a drug deal take place in an alley, a couple having sex in the back of an SUV while parked in a convenience store parking lot and nine police cars chase down an expensive foreign sports car in broad daylight. I heard cell phones ringing everywhere I went, car alarms going off with no one around and those same people with the phones arming their car alarms with annoying chirps and beeps. At various times in the night, I woke to the sounds of garbage trucks emptying dumpsters, Harley's without mufflers and seagulls squawking. I enjoy visiting the city with all it's flash and excitement, but I love the slow, quiet of home even more.
