Enquiring minds want to know.

Why, on the Antiques Road Show, does the "expert" always ask the question..do you have any idea of the value of your antique whatsit?
Why would I stand in line all day if I already knew it's value?

Why do so many people have partners these days?
Lesbians no longer have girlfriends nor do gay men have boyfriends.
Nonmarried couples don't have common law spouses and even public t.v. has renamed their subscribers.

Why are so many bloggers concerned with spelling and grammar, instead of what the person has to say?

Why are so many people worried about getting SARS, when more people are killed in car crashes daily, than have died from the virus in North America.

Dunno, just feeling inquisitive today I guess.

All you mensa types, check out this puzzle........via iNKDAY

Happy Birthday to me...Happy Birthday to me...hope that's not a copyright violation. Feeling old this birthday, but in a good way. I was doing the traditional Good Friday shopathon at WalMart yesterday, but instead of customary chocolate T-Rexs or Spirit Ponies, I was shopping for baby cribs. Noooooooooooooo, not for me...yikes, for my first born (pregnant)daughter who lives in the hinterlands of northern B.C. To give you an idea of how isolated she is, it's 45 miles to the nearest McDonalds! I digress....as I wandered through the baby section, I remembered doing the same before she was born, and I smiled. I love my daughter(s) dearly, they bring me much joy and happiness, but I am so glad my child rearing and child changing and child feeding and child clothing and child driving and child "I have no life" days are behind me. The reason I can be sarcastic about my kids (sans guilt), is that they were in fact a delight to nurture through their formative years, and they have all blossomed into competent, caring, well adjusted adults (and we still like each other!). So join me in a toast...I am enjoying the most contented period of my journey through life.....and Happy Birthday to me.

It's my blog and I'll babble if I want to.

Since discovering blogging, I've spent some time perusing random blogs, either from lists or through blogroll linkage. Did I just say that..linkage??...sheeesh, anyway...I've noticed a definite pattern....complainers and non-complainers...or maybe positive and negative is a better description. Now, I'm not above a rant or two myself, it's downright theraputic to clear the air from time to time, but when that's all you do...frankly you lose me. Wait a minute.....this is sounding very much like I'm complaining. I'ts a slippery slope, ok, I started this to mention a few blogs that I've come across and now read regularly, they are generally positive, often very funny, and always very well written. At first they intimidated me, with their ability to write so well..they make everything interesting and enjoyable to read...but then their willingness to share their thoughts, ideas and feelings actually encouraged me to continue with my drivel. I think there's a certain "friendliness" that comes through their posts.

So, the point of my ramblings,(like there's ever a point) is to share these blogs with you...here are the links, I hope you enjoy them as I do. Oh, and one of them...Flowerhead...moooooved me to post a picture of the cows that live across the road from me.

Click for larger imageFor some reason, when I looked at this picture, that song about "Jesus on my dashboard" came to mind....country western I believe, like it could be anything else...as you can see, Buddha's riding on mine, and no, I'm not religous....I just go to Chinatown a lot. Can anyone guess, from the picture, where Buddha and I were driving at the time??

Saw a story recently about an Alta. group that's come up with a new board game, based on winning the lottery. Which got me to dreaming, and I thought possibly I might get a response here, if I asked.....what would you do, if you won a multi million dollar lottery???

Rockinronnie's pick for blog of the week
Does anyone else have a blog to recommend? Insightfull content, innovative design or just because you like them..whatever the reason, leave me your favourites and maybe I'll make it my blog of the week.

borrowed from www.sfgate.com Could this be the next big advertising medium? I can see it now, professional athletes with Nike slashes on theirs...or, buy a six pack and wear one emblazoned with the Budweiser girls...happy faces, political statements, iron-on transfers imploring us to "Free Tibet".
This decade's billboard.....a marketer's wet dream.

So British Prime Minister Tony Blair is going to "appear" on the Simpsons. Sounds like a career move to me. If it goes well, apparently the networks are offering him and "Dubya", permanent roles as Beavis and Butthead. While we're in the British Isles, a new study says that daily Irish coffee, after a stroke, increases your chances of recovery....hmmmm, wonder if it works preventatively.

Always so nice to see old friends.....fond memories, good food, laughter and the stress of today's confused world disappearing in a pleasant Kokanee fog.
