Film at eleven....

Double your pleasure, double your fun.....I'm seeing a brand new ad campaign featuring the twins once this new product hits the shelves.

If this happened here on the island, the kids would be lined up with their piggy banks at the back of the truck.

I can imagine Sonja must be a little bent about this item. But I'll bet the Spanish will be happy to see a posh bit like Victoria on the beaches of Majorca.

In entertainment news today, Oprah had the cast of Lion King on. Dam, can they sing, such a wonderful sound, amazing voices. Maybe Dawn will go see it and give us a full review. Uh oh, I just realised that in my last entry, I admitted to crying while watching a movie, and now I let it slip that I watch Oprah.....there goes my image!

Thanks for watching kids, and if my news didn't bare enough details for you, check this out. Till next time America/Canada/Britain et al.

Have you hugged your roommate today?

I just watched a movie called Roommates. I'm still sniffling as I type. Unless your totally devoid of emotion, you will tear up during the movie, and sob at the end. In between the waterworks it's funny and sweet at the same time. I'll be hugging my long legged blonde the second she sashays through the door. Pass the kleenex please.

This girl rode by our place yesterday and I thought of Lauren, so I grabbed a couple pics.

Weekend photos....

A nice lazy weekend, my only accomplishment, the second chair is now assembled. Norm Abram would be impressed, I may start wearing flannel. Oh and we watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding too, a nice love story, but it didn't live up to the hype, in my opinion.(I give it three spanokopitas out of five) I do like John Corbett though, he has a great voice. Not Sir Sean Connery great, but I always thought he'd make a wonderful late night dj like the one he played on Northern Exposure. I use to live up north, and it is very much like the show, a lot of interesting and different characters all tolerant of each other, for the most part. Norm would like it too, flannel's a year round fashion statement. Here's some weekend pics......ciao.

Safeway Saturday.....

Random blog thoughts today, first, you'll notice I have a button for anyone that would like to use it in their links. Thank you Katie, I love it, and the picture you used is very flattering. If that's what I look like in your mind, I may never post a photo of myself. Speaking of pictures, there has been some doubt raised as to whether my chair in a box is the real deal or not, soooo, here's proof. One more Katie note, I heard a tune on my drive last night, that sounded like it was written with her in mind. With lyrics like.."She lives in town with her high-heeled friends", and.."But she doesn't have to get up in the morning", could it be anyone else? It's called Daylight Katy, go have a listen and tell me I'm wrong.

Big news in our community this week, we have a new Safeway! They have a couple of features that are proving very popular. For the younger set, the latest in buggies, and for the rest of us, free lunch. My long legged blonde and I brunched there today and it was fairly decent. We started with a tasty fruit plate, followed by the main course of smoked sausages and dessert was a yummy black forest cake and ice cream. Although the portions were on the small side and the wine list was sadly lacking, considering the price range it was a tasty meal.

I'm not sure if it's because I was sleep deprived this week but I had one of those moments. You know, where you say something so stupid you start laughing hysterically rather than be embarrassed. I was paying for gas one night on my way to work, when the attendant asked me if I'd like a complimentary liquor bag. The following thoughts went through my head in the span of a nano second;
are they allowed to give away liquor at gas stations?;
I wonder what kind it is, because I really only like beer;
how can they afford to give away liquor?;
it must be those small airline bottles;
boy, these gas wars are great;
this must be my lucky week(I won a bottle of Pepsi the last time I filled the car);
...still not fully comprehending, I asked the the cashier, in my most intelligent voice mind you, "what?". He repeated himself with a condescending teenage voice.."would you like your complimentary litter bag?"...I lost it on the spot, cracked up uncontrollably, he was still shaking his head and muttering as I fell out the door, with my complimentary liquor bag in hand.

Time to go catch up on all my favourite blogs, but before I run, and this is against my better judgement, here's a pic of yours truly. This was taken two summers ago, down at "our" beach...I was doing my Rod Stewart/Tim McGraw imitation that night. I've tried taking more recent pics, but this cheap digital camera seems to add fifteen pounds and make me look bald, maybe when I get my new one it'll take better pictures.

Thanks for all the nice "missing you" comments, although I was gone, it's nice to know I wasn't forgotten. I really like blogging....no wait, that should read,...I really like bloggers. Stay safe kids.

On the fly again, dam work. Here's this week's submission to Photo Friday

This is my motivation for going to work. Yes, both, the camera for myself, and heels for my long legged blonde. I guess those would kinda be for me too...lol. Play safe kids, early night tonight so hopefully I'll catch up on all that is bloggy tomorrow. Life is good.

Too tired to think....

This week's submission to Theme Thursday

Anyone work as a barista? I found this on the wall at one of our local coffee shops.

I've added a couple more buttons in the links section, I have some very talented people visit here. Wish I was artistic....sure wish I had one of those cool buttons...always wanted a cool little button for my page. I learned that today while volunteering at the "puter palace" as the kids call it, I call it rockinronnie's daycare service, here let me try it again. You have to think of me as cute while I whine though, in order for it to work....I'm sooooooooo tired, can someone do my drive for me tonight?..puuulllleeeezzzeeee, I only had four hours sleep today......Yep, thought as much, I might be a lot of things, but cute isn't one of them......night, night boyzngirls.

Sixty second tidy......

Rockinronnie's pick for blog of the week is Uptonia. Even if you don't appreciate beautiful art and poetry, you'll love Lauren's fish.
I was going to set a precedent and give Katie the honour again, since she was away the first time, but it's been brought to my attention she got rid of her super short skirt with the horizontal stripes. It's a slippery slope this closet cleaning, first the short skirts then the heels, pretty soon, your shopping for one size fits all Fortrel stretchy pants at K Mart.

I'm starting to like this Adorondack chair in my front room, even Candy likes it. It's practical, beer sits nicely on one arm and a snack on the other, it's solid, very comfy and easy to clean. May have to move the couch outside for the summer.

I heard Macy Gray on the radio today and now I have this silly verse in my head.....
I try to write my blog and I choke
I try to type away and I stumble

Got to run, I'm late, going driving all night again...zzzzzzz
(p.s., I was just kidding Katie, I like you even in Fortrel)

Bloody brilliant.....

That's me, trying to sound British in my review of Bend It Like Beckham. No violence, nothing blew up, not one car chase and no gratuitous sex. Ok, ok in case someone that actually knows me reads this entry, I enjoy gratuitous sex as much as the next bloke, but I can do without the bloodshed. Not only was the show hilarious with great music, it's very relative. Until recently one of my daughters shared an apartment with an East Indian girl, who has very similar problems with her parents. They won't speak to her because she moved out on her own and took up with a white boy. Geezus folks, let it go, it's the 21st century already...ok, you're right, it must be tough to be torn between two cultures. So glad I'm part of North American society though, my father persuaded me to leave home when I was seventeen. My mother refused to come to my first wedding and I didn't invite her to the second. Dr Phil could do a whole season on my parental family...whoa, from a funny, light hearted movie to a bad soap, nuff said. If you haven't already, Ronniecomelately recommends you see this flic...I give it four out of five footyballs.

Is there anyone out there that watches Conan O'Brien, or should I say, will admit to it? He has this male adolescent style, of acting out every one of his lame attempts at humour. Maybe they're aiming for the slurpee drinking, skateboard riding, arcade demographic..he even seems to be nervous talking with beautiful women, how juvenile is that dude? The reason for this self induced torture?....Jewel. They forced us to sit through Conan's high school humour to see her, but it was well worth the wait. Not only did she sound as great as ever, she was wearing heels! Oh and she had the bare midriff thing goin on too, how schweeet was that?......No really, I do like her singing, the heels are just a nice artistic touch. Blush, um, could you pass my grape slurpee, I'm late for the arcade.

Dreams last so long
Even after you're gone
I know you love me
And soon you will see
You were meant for me
And I was meant for you .....Jewel

It's done!....and I only had to take it apart twice.
If the girls don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
perfect for sipping a slurpee and listening to Jewel
