The view from here.....

Hello and welcome to Weekend Update. I'm Rockinronnie and she's Tina Fey. Our top stories tonight...

It seems your mother was right after all!
How to get boys to read.
There seems to be some sort of theme here.
Why did the chicken cross the road?

Goodnight and have a pleasant tomorrow.

Warm and fuzzy.....

Thank you everyone for the nice welcome back. I'm still wrapping my head around the concept of not having to read, write or complete anything to a deadline...unless it's my own. And since school only ended a couple of weeks ago, I'm not setting any of those just yet. Although, I have written a to-do list...lol.

To bring you up to date, for those that are interested, I have completed a one year certificate program on Computer Information Systems. I learned a smattering of everything from Java programming to help desk etiquette. I had a part-time job as a student peer tutor in the library computer lab. I tutored geriatric geeks at Elder College and was assistant editor/writer/photographer on the short lived but well received school newspaper. Yes, I had a wonderful time. And just when I thought it was all over, I was asked, and gladly accepted, to tutor a mature student who is upgrading her Grade 12 English. Now all I have to do is come up with more income so I can go back in the fall. Yep, I could easily become one of those perpetual students if I can just figure out a way to make it pay.

While we're updating...I've added a new blogger buddy to my list. Her name is Jess and she's a journalism student with a great sense of humour....which means she'll fit in nicely with you lot. She writes really well, but I should warn the Southern Baptists in the crowd....Jess can have a bit of a potty mouth at times. Raised by a family of truckers, the girl comes by her colourful language honestly. In an ironic twist of fate, however; she can't drive ducks to water. In fact the World Wildlife Federation recently identified Jess as the single largest threat to the racoon population in the midwestern Unites States. Go have a look at the world through the eyes of our future. lightness of being

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaack.....

Have you ever gotten busy and neglected to call a friend for a while? As time passes you think about making contact but don't, because, well, so much time has passed. Finally you decide to stop being silly and just make the dam call.

"Hi, it's Ronnie"...Who?...."uhhh, Ronnie"....Ronnie who?..."Rockinronnie"....not ringing any bells here...."Rockinronnie the blogger...Naked Armed and Dangerous."...hmmm, young, good looking guy, from the Southern States,right?...."uh no, ...old, bald guy from Vancouver Island on the west coast of Canada. Belly-dancing wife, chickens in the back yard..mature, computer science student at out local college."...ohhhhhhhhhhhh....now I remember you...yea..used to stop by your blog all the time..as I recall you wrote something about attending school, and then disappeared. "Um yea well, about that...school's over now, and I was wondering, well, if you would like to hang out again?...I uh, well, if it'll help, I have a few things here, you know, as sort of a peace offering."

There's for Bran and for Sonja . I have some for Christine, a for Lauren and a nice cold for Will. Here's a for Spike and finally, for Sue a
