If you were told the world would end in 24 hours...what would you do with your time? Me??...I'm goin with sex, beer and food.....I mean think about it....no hangover, pregnancies or calories to worry about.....oh, and in between orgasms, snacks and peeing....I'd want to call anyone that passed through my life in less than positive circumstances, and say something nice. Not sure I'll have my boots on, but I'm goin out smiling.

Just when I think we've outgrown our "smalltown" label. This morning while driving , I heard a contest on one of the local radio stations, in which you answer questions about dental floss, with the possibility of winning an electric toothbrush. Oh, and you didn't win the contest with that brainteaser alone....nope, that was simply to enter your name in the weekly draw. Perhaps we're not quite a metropolis after all.....more like urban sprawl with small town naivety.

And now for something completely different....this story made me smile, hope it does the same for you..after all, life's far too short to take seriously.  Team Naked

Probably not the most representitive spring photo I have, but I love the sculpture on top of the fountain.....anyone recognise the location?

I am watching a PBS show about Vietnam at the end of that war, and the effects it had on their people. I feel so blessed to have been born in a country, and during a period, with so much wealth and freedom. It would be wonderful if we could overcome our fear and share it with the rest of the world. We would be be the richer for it.

Nothing to fear, but fear itself.
So I'm watching Dr. Phil today....yea,yea,yea..at least I admit to it....and he's talking with pre-school kids about the war. Well, out of the mouths of babes....their solution was.."they should just be friends"...and one boy said.."they didn't use their words"...apparently they've been taught to use words instead of violence to solve differences. My instant reaction was...where do we lose them?? It was only later, when Phil was giving a parent advice about how children learn..he said,"children learn visually..they have very few words, so they learn from what they see"...that it hit me. We don't ever lose them, in fact they learn very well...we pretend to teach them one thing.."words"....but with our actions we are really teaching them another. Even without the war, it's all around us...news, sports, movies and television, all teach violence, and ultimately fear, which is really what it comes down to. After all, everyone has fear of some sort, and in teaching our children to deal with it by using violence, the end result becomes fear itself.

People won't remember what you did...people won't remember what you said.....but people will always remember how you made them feel.

It's a dog's life....these people obviously have far too much time and money.

And they say men can't multi-task!

Sheeesh...now we need a dictionary to interpret the war.

Children's perspective.....a nice story from the war for a change.

Canada mobilizes military: HMCS Haida prepares to sail, 3rd Dory Fleet sets out from Halifax, PEI sends potato guns
To assist in the war on terrorism, Canada's military is preparing a number of initiatives. Foremost is the recommissioning of HMCS Haida, a modern warship currently moored at Ontario Place. "In order to ready the ship, a number of maintenance tasks need to be performed, including removing some cement packing from the gun turrets, unseizing the propeller and engine, or perhaps installing a couple of banks of oars and a big square red and white striped sail" said Canadian Armed Forces media spokesman Jeff Noonday. "I just hope we can get this thing out of here before the St. Lawrence freezes up for the winter." In addition, Nova Scotia fishermen have assembled the 3rd Dory Fleet in Halifax Harbour. This ragtag assortment of boats will deliver thousands of tons of cod to starving Afghan refugees. The military has also taken delivery of 1000 cases of potato "spud" guns from PEI. "While not lethal, these things will really annoy the Taliban, and may even put out an eye or two", said Noonday.
