Have a nice day......

Over the last few days I had a couple of things I was going to write about. I was going to scorn the American general who thinks God put Dubya in the White House. Then there was the coming out of the boy in the box and the guy who went for a dip at Niagara Falls. However due to technical difficulties over at Pitas I wasn't able to post for the last couple of days. And then today, was really nice and I put all that trivial fluff out of my mind. Nothing spectacular happened you understand, it was just a nice day. I arrived for class early this morning and ended up having a nice chat in the cafeteria with a young fellow from my class. Nothing worth repeating here, just a nice conversation. In class while a fall storm rattled the windows with rain, a young woman and I laughed at how many mistakes we were making on a simple exercise. And so it went, my time in the library as a peer tutor was spent with just as much excitement. The biggest problem of the day was helping someone double space a WORD document. Elder College where I also help out was the same. We taught them how to go online. I know…pretty complicated stuff. But you see that's just it…nothing wildly exciting happened, but it was a really nice day. I had a number of very enjoyable conversations with people, I laughed a lot, and here's the best part.......I was thanked profusely by many people for helping them. Seems such a little thing saying thank you to someone, especially when that's exactly why they're there, to offer assistance..... but it sure felt good to me. I am enjoying school very much.....life is good.

p.s.....is it just me, or has anyone else noticed how often I use the word young in reference to other students?

BOOOOOO.....

There seems to be some spooky things going on over at Pitas lately. They have excuses about servers crashing and files being lost on new hardrives but it's a little too close to Halloween for my liking. If I was their techy I wouldn't be working in the building late at night by myself.....mwahahahahaha

Stupid human tricks.......

Colorado's ninja stripper.

My governor can beat up your governor.....this is as much sad as it is funny.

Coming to a Betty Ford clinic near you.

Maybe they were British tourists celebrating.

Playing catch up.......

Seems like ages since I've sat here and written anything. School is keeping me very busy, well that and the job as a peer tutor in the library's computer lab. I'm enjoying it all so much, in fact most days I wonder why I procrastinated so long about enrolling. The atmosphere is inspiring, so may people with hopes and dreams and all eager to learn. There's a wide range of students, "mature" learners like me and a plethora of younger ones too. The young ones seem to have unlimited energy, it's a delight to see their enthusiastic smiles, oh and their bare midriffs too...heyyyy, I said I was mature not dead! I've taken a few pictures but I can't upload them right now as I'm at my daughters in Victoria. I'm here for more acupuncture treatment, this is the third one and wait for it......it seems to be working!!!! I'm not sure if it's the roots and berries or the pin cushion therapy but I haven't felt this good in almost three years. Xie xie Dr. Zhu.

Although I haven't been posting much of late, I am still reading your blogs and keeping up on what I can of the Internet. With that in mind, here's a few links and notes. Do you think Susan's entry and this news item are connected somehow? Blogic karma or just serendipitous coincidence? Maybe the tiger finally just had enough and went postal.

Christine has a funny entry about fishing and sexual harassment.

If any of you haven't been by James Jackson's yet, you're missing a good blog and a funny guy. His Ask the Gay Guy Anything is hilarious...manamana.

That seksay Brit Sonja is back on this side of the pond, and livin large too. She and Denver both survived her first attempt at driving on the wrong side of the road. And tonight the cheeky little thing has managed to get herself invited to a party. I hope they're ready for Pished Spice.....God Save Denver.

It would be really nice if everyone took a second to wish Becky the best. She's off to pickup her new pooch and is having some anxiety about the trip. Her journey through life with SMA is an inspiration to those of us whose families are also touched by this disability. Well that and she's just a really cool person. If you don't know her, just think of it as your random act of kindness for the day.

And finally, according to this study, not only do high heels not cause arthritis, regular dancing in them may actually prevent it. You know what they say ladies, five inches of prevention is worth a foot of cure.

Thanks for the kind words from Will, Kimmie and others. It's nice to know people find my blog interesting enough to stop by regularly, especially given the "entry drought" of late. Your nice thoughts make me feel good, thanks for taking the time to share them with me.

Tell somebody who cares.....

To anybody who still drops by my inactive blog, I will attempt to get things around here up to date this weekend. No really, I promise.........oh, and the cheque is in the mail.

T.G.I.F......

Best pickup line heard on International Talk Like a Pirate Day...."prepare to be boarded"....arrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Blowin the hornpipe for me beauty srah...the comely wench has climbed to the top of the yardarm with pirate lingo today. Speaking of which, the sun is definitely over mine, pass the grog or I'll keel haul ya.

Trivial pursuit......

-I'm hoping that wearing eyeliner qualifies me for Selma's Men with Balls list.
-A generation of young men who grew up with S-Club7 is rejoicing at the news of Rachel's latest career move.
-George Clooney has offered to help Kiera Knightley with her diction lessons. Ok George, but you have to do it down here in the living room where we can keep an eye on you.
-Here's another vote for our side in the looks verses brains debate.
-London's boy in the box may not be front page news over here, but even so, I think America's fast food chain Jack in the Box, is missing a great marketing opportunity.

Remember me...?

Going to college isn't leaving much time for blogging these days. Lots of homework including a research paper to write. I'm really enjoying it though, and I've even landed a job as a library computer lab peer tutor. I'll be putting the letters G E E K after my name in no time. Isn't it always the way, no time for blogging and so much hilarious news. As if Ben dumping J-Lo and Awnold running for governor wasn't enough subject matter, now we have proof that government can't do anything efficiently. Maybe they've been sampling the merchandise....pass the snacks. Please pardon my sporadic posting of late and thanks for continuing to drop by.....I'll try to be a little more reliable in the future. How many times have you heard that line from a guy?.....ciao.
