Green eggs and ham..... First it was school taking up all my time and now spring chores aimed at a more self sufficient lifestyle are getting in the way of blogging. We’ve been digging up lawn to make our gardens larger, expanding the irrigation system and yes, building a chicken coop. Free range eggs .50 a dozen, shipping extra...all prices quoted are in Canadian funds. Ok, we’re only getting six chickens so the export business may have to wait a while. If all goes well with our poultry experience though, we may try raising a pig or two next year. Pass the bacon please. (Apologies to my vegan friends for any unpleasant visuals you may be experiencing.) We’ve always grown a garden but never had the time motivation needed to raise animals. Lately with all the issues surrounding modern food production we’ve decided to get a little more serious about it, besides, not only will we know where our food comes from this way, it tastes so much better too.
