Renfield: --okay, that was really, really weird
RackhamRose: hmm?
Renfield: i just started playing a remix of How To Make a Monster
Renfield: & i heard words over the intro... i don't remember there being vocals or vox samples in this, apart from Rob hisself, so i'm guessing it was somebody tampering w/local radiowaves
Renfield: but get this
RackhamRose: okay...
Renfield: --it was bits from Young Frankenstein.
RackhamRose: o_O
Renfield: how's THAT for coincidence 8-)
RackhamRose: XD tasty

When work is a vacation from school, and school is a vacation from work, either your life is very, very sweet, or it's hell. I'm guessing in my case, it's just very, very sweet. Well, most of the time.

Hm, what's new. I got to see the Two Towers, which didn't spend nearly enough time with the ents, but was still good . . . gravity probe monitoring is not what I thought it was; it's actually much cooler, although it's obvious where a non-geek would be bored to tears by it. I still have to register for Fanimecon before the 31st, and donate to the RavenBlack server after the next paycheck (that Paypal account is one of the best free things I ever got, I'm sure of it).

We were warming up the oven last night, the better to heat up our massive, massive ham, when one of the heating elements blew out with a scary noise, so I wound up carving it cold, cutting it up small & adding it to a humongous batch of mac & cheese. That was two boxes worth, and there were no leftovers at all. ;___; At least there's still plenty of ham. And another sweet installment of digitized fansubs from Vince. We gots Excel Saga!!

Hmm, not much else to report. The weather's very blustery, but at least that means no more frost. It looks a little crazy with some trees blooming in the upper branches and still dropping leaves from the lower ones, but that's CA for you. Rabidcow was playing with googlism and found that it knew him only through The Xellos Show, apparently. Weeird.

Sowannyway. . . .
I was at Valley Fair last night with Blain drooling over palmtop tech, and Sarah picking out raspberry Godiva chocolates for her mother-in-law, and I was standing at the railing on the second floor outside one of the Nordstrom's entrances, just contemplating the crowds. Sometimes it just amazes me how many people can fit in a place and still not have fights or nasty aggression break out. A few hundred years ago, this would have been only remotely possible. A thousand years ago, it would have been downright impossible, except in certain cities; the biggest reason being the variations in population density between rural and urban areas. I started wondering what the big difference was. Is it because wars are fought differently? Is it because crime rates are now so low, that people don't have to travel locally in packs, or carry weapons? Is it because child-rearing now has some science and psychology to it, or because the value of human life is one of the media's top tear-jerkers?

Then it hit me over the head like a fresh trout: this was exactly what Gally would have been thinking. What's more, it was just the kind of view that would have inspired the thought in her. We are too damned much alike. And I've got to get my mitts on some more Last Order. Heeheehee.

In the meantime, I've been enjoying myself at the game so much, it will probably be made illegal by mid-January. [sigh]

For a really good, hard laugh (or a groan), take a look at what's trying to join my RPG.

Rabidcow's two bits: "Estimated penis size: 1.4 cm."

More wierd vampire dreams. Weird, weird vampire dreams.

I didn't sleep Monday night, so Tuesday was what you might call Very Interesting. I'm pretty sure my hallucinations might have been hallucinating. So the minute I got home yesterday, I went straight to bed, and I stayed there (except for lots of toothbrushing, which is odd because when I don't sleep, I can't eat) until about 10:30 this morning.

I dreamed I was a powerful member of a large community of vampires, and hundreds upon hundreds of little fledglings had to crowd around and make sure I was all right, because I'd been gone so long. They were all very happy I was back. For some reason this took place in the SJSU Student Union Center.

That's the very weirdest and creepiest part of my dreams: all my waking moments are seen as time spent in a different place. It's as if I go somewhere to dream, and disappear from there when I wake up. This is consistent with every type of dream I've ever had; if I wake up for only a moment before falling asleep again, the others in the dream will say "Where'd you go? You just vanished for a second!"

Sunday night it was Hunter Thompson dreams. Mmmmmmmm. I swear, that man makes Ernest Hemingway look like a pansy.
