Mmmmm...Pita...*drool*

D'oh!
Sorry, haven't had much time on the computer since I've been here. I probably won't get another chance to talk until I get back. Going to NIAGARA FALLS tomorrow. Shout out to all you Canadians out there.

Northward!
Yes, today's the day. In minutes, I'm leaving for the airport and going to...PENNSYLVANIA! WOOOOO! I'll try to update the pita though, especially after my Niagra Falls trip. I'll still be able to check my e-mail, but I'll have no access to messaging services or newsgroups for a week. I also won't be able to really update my website from up there, since all the images are down here. Well, gotta go! I'm so excited! I'll update again tonight.

To "Weird Al" Yankovic-Stop Haunting Me!
I swear, he's haunting me. I've dreamed about him three nights in a row now, and I'm getting creeped out. See, this happened last summer too, but last summer, I could attribute it to the fact that a) I listened to all 10 of his albums non-stop from the minute I awoke to the minute I went to bed b) If for some reason I WASN'T listening to Al, I was watching one of the video tapes (TV shows+ UHF) of Weird Al c) Everything I said or did somehow tied into Weird Al. So, I figured that last summer, the dreams were inspired by the fact that I had Al on the brain. Well, this summer, I still love his music, but I listen to Al about once every two weeks, and occasionally pop in a tape. I have severely cut back my fandom so that I can be tolerable to everyone again. Yet, the man is still haunting me! This calls for an explanation of my Al Dreams. Dream #1-I dreamed that I time-travelled back into 1985 to see him perform on the Stupid Tour. Everything was pretty accurate, the clothes, the hair, Al's look, the band members. So anyway, Al came over and talked to me after the show. I decided that it rocked, so I went back to before the show to see the show again, but something went wrong and weird stuff that I don't remember happened and because I meddled with time, I didn't get to meet Al on my second trip:( Dream #2-This was more of an Al cameo, but VH1 was premiering Al's newest video. It was a parody of U2, only it wasn't a U2 song (it wasn't really anything that I knew) and Al was dressing up for Fat. That's all I remember. Dream #3-Last night's dream. Al was kicking off his new tour for his latest album down at the King Center, where I saw him perform for the first time (Now you KNOW it's a dream!^_^). He sang songs from his new album, which I, again, cannot remember, though one of them was called simply "Al 27." He came over and talked to me, and I informed him that I was the one that sent him the Shel Silverstein book, then suddenly we were in a meadow. I picked up an accordion and played it really bad, so Al tried and played it good. Then it switched to in front of my house and I realized that I hadn't gotten Al's autograph, but I was too late-he was driving away in his limo. Now, these aren't even the first dreams I've had recently! Common themes running through all the dreams, however, are me attending an Al concert, watching Al perform on TV, meeting Al and telling him that I'm the one that sent him Shel Silverstein's "A Light in the Attic," as a wedding present. Yes, I did send him a present. He had a wish list on Amazon.com and the link to the places where he was registered leaked out to the fan community. The book was in my price range, and I remembered reading Shel Silverstein's poems in elementary school and decided that I should be the one to pass them along to Al. Several weeks later, I received a thank-you note in the mail, in his handwriting and signed both my him and his wife (I have his autograph, so I recognized his writing). Thus, I've been yearning to meet him finally so I can just tell him "Hey, I'm the girl who sent the book! Yea, I really am this short!" Another theme that keeps showing up is me getting a scarf from him during a concert. This actually happened at my first concert (I apparently have really, really good luck!), during "One More Minute," where Al hands out two scarves and a pair of boxers to the ladies in the audience. He usually sits on their laps too, but I got excited when I saw a girl a few rows ahead get Scarf Numero Uno, so I stood up and waved my arms and lo and behold, the peppy-polka-playing-parodist bestowed upon me a scarf. That's how the whole obsession started, so I'm not surprised that it's a recurring theme. But the dream load is now reaching a slightly disturbing level. I don't know why Al keeps appearing in my dreams. I mean, I've obsessed over MANY things, much longer and much more extremely than Al, yet I can't recount ANY dreams of those things. However, ever since that encounter, Al has become a fixture in the land of Nod. There's always a good chance that as soon as my head hits the pillow, I will have a close encounter of the Al kind. Speaking of sleep...it's getting late. And Al-sama is beckoning to me. Well, let's see if Al's gotten bored with visiting my dreams and sends a sub instead. Oyasumi!

Inconceivable!
Yea, I'm slacking...I probably won't update this sucker every day. You'll probably notice the new diary links in the links list, they're from other friends who are also maintaining an online diary, many of whom are pals from the Kamishibai forum (SHOUT OUT, SHOUT OUT! WOOOOOO!). I suggest visiting them (PLUGGING, PLUGGING!) The title of this entry is from The Princess Bride. It's one of the three movies I rented on Friday. My sister hadn't seen it, so we rented that. I still haven't seen The Wedding Singer and she has, so we also rented that. We also rented Wayne's World. Fun movie, you won't even haev to turn off all of your brain functions to watch it. I also caught Rear Window on AMC Thursday night. God I love that movie. That's the fourth time I've seen it. Song of the moment-Smashmouth's cover of "I'm A Believer" from the Shrek OST. You'd think nobody could pull off that song, but Shrek did it TWICE-First with Smashmouth, then with Eddie Murphy (more for novelty, though^^;) I'm getting ready for my big trip on Thursday. I'm heading up to Pennsylvania to visit my aunt for a week, and we're also going to see Niagra Falls, meaning I get to go to CANADA! Okay, better practice my Canadian..."So, what do you like aboot Niagra Falls, eh?" There, I should fit right in...best of all, I'm going there without my family. Well, my immediate family. Yes, Rebo's off on her own, facing the cruel Canadian wilderness! (Note-No, I will NOT ride the barrel-_-;;). I've even got a new jacket. I'll be stocking up on postcards when I get to the souvenier shops...I'm also intending on bringing some extra money to get some Canadian currency. I've made a hobby of collecting foreign currency. It's fun^_^

Call Me Ishmael!
Yep, I started Moby Dick. I made it about 20 pages in before falling asleep. School starts on the 13th for me, and I've still got about 600 pages left in the book to read, plus Watt. Who thinks I can make it?! Taking bets, now...(note-NOT REALLY!)

I didn't have time yesterday to write in. Sorry-_- The LoveQuest character poll is pretty interesting. Shiro and Amelia are fighting for first place, though what's interesting to note is that Michael received the first vote. Wow, I didn't think he had enough pull. So far, Karista, Doren, and Raiden have 0 votes. Teran managed to get a fan, despite the fact that he's barely done anything. I hope Karista finally goes up as the story progresses, though^^; I'd hate to have to write in some character filler for her:P

I got my hair cut today. Just a trim, since I'm growing it out again. I still remember when it used to be so frizzy that I had to keep it in a ponytail at all times. That really stunk:P

My sister and I are planning to rent some movies this weekend. I've got a list made out, but if anyone's reading this and can think of a good movie for me to watch, e-mail me. Rebo1234@aol.com. Let's try making this a little interactive. The category we're looking at is 80's-early 90's, comedy. If you e-mail me before I go to the video store and recommend the movie, I'll try to rent it and I'll rant or rave about it here. You have twenty-four hours before I leave for the video store.

OtakuQuest is now online!

Finally, after about a month of editting images and sweating over HTML, my Kamishibai website is finally up! It's well over-due, but now that it's up, I'm going to work hard on updating it and adding new features to it. The website is mostly dedicated to my series LoveQuest...or rather, WILL be once I get all the sections up. Right now, you can download the entire series up to Chapter 7, and all future chapters will be posted there before I send them to OtakuWorld. In the future, I'm definetly going to put up some episode summaries and teasers, as well as profiles on the cast. Other features that I'm kicking around are polls (well, DUH, there's already a character poll!), some background info on Crestal, such as their religious practices and details on the Outsider Wars, and probably a gag feature or two, like an Advice Column where different cast members answer letters in their own ways. Seems I have difficulties integrating my comedy and my serious writing...I usually write straight drama or straight comedy.

To all my Kamishibai friends-I know lots of you have blogs. If you tell me the URL, I link to it from my pita^_^

By the way, Kate-chan told me a great joke today. "What do fishes say when they swim into a wall?" "Dam."

AP Reading update: Finished Hundred Years of Boredom, finally. It ended in a whirl of incest, disturbing love making practices, and the entire cast dying. And the last 50 pages were had the most repulsive images I've never wanted to even imagine. Example: Painting a doodle on a guy's...maleness. Yep, now I suppose 10 pages devoted to describing harpoons is better than the weenie doodle. Who picks what goes on that list?! Blegh...the pee tossing in "Quest of the Delta Knights" suddenly looks like a mastery of bodily humor.

Alien Ant Farm
Yep, that has got to be one of the best band names I've ever heard of. Alien Ant Farm. They did an alt rock cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal." I love it.

Got my eyes dilated today. Agh...I'm much better now, but my eyes still feel a little funny. It was at Wal-Mart, so we went shopping afterwards. Man, I thought it was bright before, but...YOWZA! It was also impossible to read anything, which was a problem when I was looking over the magazines. I almost bought a "Cardcaptors" poster with Li and the supporting cast member Sakura (note-BWAHAHAHAHA! Stupid dub...), but decided I didn't want to give them any money for screwing up Card Captor Sakura. It was tempting though, Sakura was wearing her cute little cat battle costume =^_^= Nyan, nyan...

My hand is all covered with scratches from my puppy, Victor. He's teething, so he's really rowdy. But he's so cute that I keep forgiving him.

My apologies to Katelynne. I mis-linked her pita when I first opened this pita up yesterday. Sumi masen, Katelynne-sama!

Rebo Pita Power, Make-Up!
Let's see, I've been signed up here for about two weeks and finally thought about writing something here. For those who don't know me, I'm extremely opinionated^_^ I'm female for those who don't know Japanese (the -chan suffix is used for girls). I live in America, in Florida, in fact. I'm 17 as of now, and that's all I'm giving now on my personal info. I'm working on a website for my Kamishibai series, LoveQuest right now. I'll probably customize this page and make it look cooler later on, but right now, I just figured I'd better put something here.

I'm almost done reading the hideously bad and extremely overrated "One Hundred Years of Solitude." It's on my summer reading list for AP English. And boy does it suck...I'm not a classics hater, mind you. I've read the Great Gatsby twice of my own free will and consider myself a lover of Shakespeare. I just find that some of them are extremely overrated. I like the narrative. It took me some time to get used to, since it starts off seeming to take place in a somewhat modern world, but it includes fantastic embellishments, such as dead people coming back and flying carpets. Apparently, the author intended it to sound as though someone was telling it all to you from memory, and everything is told seriously as if it is perfectly normal. But the story is very often repulsive, detailing some very gruesome deaths, bodily functions that I'd rather NOT read detailed (I'm pretty sure that I know how men pee, thank you very much!), and even a little incest and pedophilia. Bizarre stuff...plus people who die never stay dead. Next on my list: Moby Dick, which is supposed to be REALLL boring.

Well, that's my first entry-a rant on AP books. Enjoy the pita!
