Today was a good day.
It really was.
What made it so, you ask?

-Takoyaki
Pretty flowers and plants
Fine art
Cute, cuddly animals
Ice cream
Sushi
Sake
Fun time with friends.

Yep, had a nice day out at Balboa Park, the Zoo (members get 15% off ice cream price in September -- and the hippos were cuddling and it was adorable!), and at a sushi restaurant.

I feel all mellow....
Only other thing I have to say is for everybody to look at the biseinen still linked below. I only have votes from Tas and a new friend.
It looks like the vampire may have it, as things stand...
But hell, I'll probably do one for each of them anyway... =P

wai!

12:02 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2002

Whee... actually... I didn't say quite everything I wanted to say in my last post, because I was writing it during commercials (miss West Wing? Blasphemy!).

Anyway... I had 2 whole good ideas today, but my evil twin still gives me no credit! =P
Good idea #1 was when my idea to use the plunger worked to unclog our kitchen sink (and yes, I washed the sink after!).
Good idea #2 was a variation on a classic. I told him that Vanilla Coke and spiced rum would be delicious!
Well... I'm sure other people have thought of that... It should have a special name so that people can order it easily at a bar.

Hm... I got an email hit to my website. It would be interesting to know who's been spreading my site around, since I'm certain I haven't sent out the address in weeks...
...And word has been spreading... I'm on at least 2 links pages I didn't know about, and I was linked in someone's live journal... right after a description of molestation of bread... yay... -.-;

10:26 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2002

Well... I suppose I'm calmed down now.
Tasty ice cream and 2 hours of The West Wing will do that...

Oh my goodness, I'm posting quiz results here...
Sort of... =P
I belong to House Snackewyrm
~Noble and ravenous, your greatest inner struggle is whether to protect the weak, or eat them. Choose wisely!~
What Hooglerynth house do you belong to?

Tee-hee, especially considering how everyone was about posting which Hogwarts house they were sorted into (... I ... was ... sort-of ... sorted into ... Slytherin...), I just had to post that.

Oh, my evil twin was House Poinginoh: "You are very curious. Why is that? Oooh! Shiny!"

I think my brother and I might be crazy. He was reading last night and shared a bit about a character saying that since Adam was really tempted by the apple and not Eve, so it was actually gluttony that resulted in the expulsion from paradise.
So then he went, "Oh, apples." Like Homer talks about doughnuts on the Simpsons...
And then we had entirely too many laughs over our new catch phrase:

Apples, the doughnuts of Paradise!

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!

god damned son of a bitch bastard asshole shit-headed fart-knockered pricks!

THOSE BRAIN DEAD NUGGETS OF CRAP CANCELED FARSCAPE!!!!

Okay, so maybe I'm a bit behind just now finding out in TVGuide, but...
How can they be so stupid?!
How far do their heads have to be up their asses before they axe -- not only the best show they have, but one of the best shows on basic cable!?!

KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I think I need to go pound some ground meat...
with my bare hands!

Assholes!

...

Deep breath...

Yes, so I'm not in a good mood today. Farscape is one of the few shows on television I feel compelled to watch every time it's on.
So naturally it would be gotten rid of...
And unfinished at that!

;.; Next someone's going to tell me that Matsushita Youko has decided that she's tired of Yami no Matsuei and stop drawing it... And before Muraaki comes back, and Tatsumi and Tsuzuki see each other again, and we learn the whole truth about everyone and everything...

(Guys, none of the above about Yami no Matsuei is true... just in case you didn't pick up on that -- I was trying to give a better sense of my feelings of loss and disappointment =P)

Anyway, check this out:
A new favorite Japanese YamiMatsu site! It has some nice Tatsumi x Tsuzuki fanart (oohh... Tatsumi's b-day pic), as well as one of a sexy Suzaku.
And speaking of sexy shiki's... I found a site with a very nice Souryu pic (damn, he's hot!), and a nice Touda pic... but there's some other ones I didn't need...
Actually, the demon-possessed, auto-erotic Tsuzuki pic had some appeal (I mean, it's actually rather tasteful for what it is)...
It was one pic I just can't talk about and another...
Who in all of Meifu thought that my poor Tsuzuki needed to experience tentacle rape!?! Keep the tentacle monster away from him!

...That was entertaining, but I want my Farscape... ;.;

oh, woe!

12:06 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2002

Blech... I just had to clean up another little kitty mess...

...

Anyway...
Ever get an idea for a fic that you know you'll never write?
It's not that it's a bad idea, or that I don't like it, it's just I can't think of enough for it.
It's another thing like my Stardust songfic-like idea (I really don't like the "traditional" songfic). I just think that some of the lyrics to Jackson Browne's Fountain of Sorrow really fit certain YamiMatsu characters.

Looking through some photographs<
I found inside a drawer,
I was taken by a photograph of you.
There were one of two I know
You would have liked a little more,
But they didn't show your spirit quite as true.

You were turning 'round to see who was behind you,
And I caught your childish laughter by surprise.
And at the moment that my camera happened to find you,
There was just a trace of sorrow in your eyes.

Doesn't that sound perfect for Tsuzuki (the person in the picture) and Tatsumi (reflecting after their partnership)?
It's just that there're other lyrics I don't like quite so much for them, and there really wouldn't be much more than the song, so...
We'll leave it as a pseudo-image song, and you all should listen to it, because Jackson Browne is cool, and that song is great!

I also like his song Late for the Sky for Muraki and Tsuzuki (well, and in general, since it's my fave song of his).

You never knew what I loved in you-
I don't know what you loved in me.
Maybe the picture of somebody you were hoping I might be.

Okay, maybe a little romantic for them, but considering Muraki rather did fall in love with a picture (and who he thought the person in the picture was)...

Anyhoot...
It looks like your fanclub is at it again. =P
On the ML and it seems a new one.
...
...And oh yeah, where are my fics, so that maybe I can wrangle a couple fans out of cyberspace with them? =P~

Dangit...
People who view dj's off my site really are a thankless bunch.
I got a password request today with a comment that was, essentially, "this is nice, but why didn't you put up the MurakixTatsumi one?"
Well, for one, there are easier ways of inducing vomiting...
But anyway, isn't the better question why I do put any of them up?
Honestly...
I actually started scanlating a manga here, but I'm not sure that I want to put it online anymore.
I'm feeling like, with the way people act about stuff like this, I might just share with you,you and any other friends that might be interested.
Because I know I'll get a bunch of shit about how other places do a better job and why didn't I choose a manga that was more this and less that...
And when will I do something else?

Pshaw... the people that matter will be happy, so I may as well just share it with them and let the rest of the world amuse itself.

Well... after that, how about a fun game?
It's, "Pick Your Pretty Man!"
...
Hm, the "applause" track doesn't seem to be working, oh well.

Yeah, so I said I wanted to do a new layout with a relatively obscure manga biseinen, and here are the choices:
-Sakaki from Canon by Shiomi Chika. He's a ruthless, but not heartless vampire bent on revenge. I'd tell you all about his emotional conflict, but that would spoil it. Anyway, here are some pics: 1, 2, 3, 4. And I know this pic has Canon in it, too, but I like it, and I like her, and I'd probably use this pic for the actual layout.
-Sakaki (popular name, eh) from Asami Yuu's A.I. Revolution. He's an unsympathetic, but extremely sexy psycho villain (he's also kind of a slut, in that he frequently seduces women to get his way). See him here, here, and here. (Actually, there are fewest pictures of him, because there are too many good ones... -.-;)
-The Chevalier from Yamiyomori no Guuwa by Matsukawa Yuriko. He's an aloof, mysterious European aristocrat with supernatural powers. Admire views 1, 2, 3, and 4. =P
-And there's Nakano, title character of Ghost Hunter Nakano by Horinaka Keiko. He's a 34 year old exorcist... and frequent guest on children's shows. I know he was someone's father, but still I get annoyed when other character call him "oyaji" because he's not all that old! Anyway, he even has color pics I liked, so see him here, here, here, here, and here, and even here!

There! Don't they look great? Of course, some of them, you have to get to know them better before you appreciate them as much as I do...
Yeah, so, my lovely blog readers (all 2 or 3 of you), do let me know which one you'd want to see a layout of!

Oh, shiny!

10:38 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2002

Whee... my evil twin has been replaying Legend of Dragoon lately...
We actually agree that Dart and Lavitz were a couple -- and a better one than Dart and Shana could ever be.
It's nice that he sees that, too...
What isn't nice is that he also vehemently insists that my precious pretty boy Albert was raped by the big, unpleasant prison warden and all the guards.

Yes, so yaoi slash has even "corrupted" my brother...
And there are actually times when I wish it hadn't corrupted me quite so much.
I don't always like going back and rereading old favorites and getting slashy thoughts about characters whose relationships are beautiful the way they are...
I do not want slashy thoughts while rereading my beloved Riddlemaster of Hed trilogy! No no no!
And now I'm getting them rereading The Tower atStony Wood.
Kyaaa!

...

Anyway, I went back to the doctor the other day and now have penicillin to take... and am waiting on the results of a throat culture to see if the doctor will really recommend bloodwork being done...
;.; Mommy, keep the scary needles away from me!
...
Yes, nothing reverts me to a child like the n-word.

Well... also went shopping the other day. I was helping my brother pick out wedding presents for friends from his gemology class. We found some really nice stuff at Pier 1 -- that was on there list even (some stuff on there list, we felt we had to save them from themselves, though).
Unfortunately we also found something for us. We've been looking for a nice, inexpensive teaset (and my evil twin's quite picky) since we moved in... I pointed one out at Pier 1, and he said, "Ah, love at first sight!"
So, we have a cute teaset and it was on sale for $20.
That works!

Ehehehe... we also were looking at cards. We hate wedding cards. Too much sap and ooze...
We also looked at this Halloween card near the register at World Market...
"It's Halloween / Would you dip yourself in chocolate and jump in my sack?"
...
We almost fell over laughing! Was it supposed to be an innuendo? It was a cute trick-or-treating doggie on the cover, and no pictures inside.
We showed it to the ladies at the counter. They said it was cute.
They didn't get it at all.

;.; Uwaahhh!
I slammed my poor finger in my closet door today. ;.; I slammed it so hard that I was nauseated and light-headed for about 10 minutes after.
And it still hurts... And I can scarcely do anything with my left hand because my middle finger is so sensitive at the moment (I could give someone the finger, though).

Yeah, so I can't even type with that finger and it hurts to massage shampoo into my scalp or to fold clothing...

And now a random thought...
Do you know what would make for one of the least appealing, scariest Yami no Matsuei fic?
Any fic with a premise based on anything said by an audience member of So Graham Norton!
That would be soo wrong!

11:21 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2002

At about 2 am last night, I realized that I both love and hate character driven movies.
Why do I love them? Because they're good and because that's when actors can show their true strength.
Why do I hate them? Because I can't turn away from them! I find it easy to flip past or leave, supposedly suspenseful action flicks and fluffy romances.
But give me a drama based mostly on the characters involved, and I'm up till 2am, when I meant to turn the tv off at 12:30.
Anyway, some past offenders are House of Spirits, Legend of 1900, and Gods and Monsters. Last night it was To Kill a Priest.

Whee... and that leads into something else I want to say.
I adore Tim Roth!
He's just wonderful. He's one of those actors that can act with his eyes. When he plays a psycho, I believe it (and it also made him a good choice for the new Planet of the Apes). I mean, he was the best part of the travesty that was The Musketeer.
And he can also be funny. Like in Four Rooms (just please, please, someone get rid of Quentin Tarantino!).
And then there he is in Legend of 1900. He protrays a fully-developed character... And when said character falls in love...
I'm going to say it- Oh my god! Those are the most adorable puppy eyes I have seen in a movie!

Alright, onto matters of consideration. Ever since I heard part of it lately, I've been growing a wee bit obsessive with the thought of using the song Stardust for a YamiMatsu fic.
The song is a sad romantic song, but with my vague idea it doesn't necessarily have to be a romantic fic. It involves Tatsumi and Tsuzuki (no, that's not an of course), but as it is to take place sometime after the partnership but before the manga begins... I don't consider the two to have been involved romantically during their partnership.
Only problem is, for the fic to really work, the song would have had to have been around when they were partners, and I think the song came out after that. You see, I want the song to actually be part of the story.
I guess I want to combine my TnT love with my love of Nat King Cole's voice.
Oh well... I still want to use Stardust as a title somewhere.

One last thing... It's time for a new layout, I think. I'll do some scans of random biseinen from less known manga and y'all (all 3 people who read this blog) can vote. =P

goats and monkeys!

09:55 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2002

Oh dear, here's another one...
I thought when I first set up the mail-form for the password on my doujinshi site that people would know that they have to enter their email address to get a reply.
I stood corrected, so I included a part that says "check and make sure your email address is entered properly or I can't send you a reply."
And still it happens that people just enter their nickname there...
Well, no @, no password. They'll learn.

Oh, and I think I mentioned before that if this server goes down, then the dj page is staying down. I'm saying it again.
It's not just that it's hard to find an ad-free, free server with a decent amount of space (and nobody's offered space for it on their domain -- and I will not pay for this site, sorry).
And it's not just that the people accessing them seem to be a mostly thankless bunch. There is an occasional thank you tacked onto the pw request, but none of them sign the guestbook (nobody signs my guestbook anymore).
And it's not just that I get the peevish feeling that everyone looks at the dj's and ignores my fanfiction.
It's the ethical issue... If I don't believe in re-using Japanese fanart, why should I do this? It is, in a sense, fanart. And I don't have their permission to do this.
I'm not saying that the page is going down (although, if I ever get an email from one of the doujinshi circles, the whole page will go down), I'm just saying that if it dies "naturally" again, I'm not reincarnating it again.

On a happier tone...
I've been meaning to mention this for a while, but I am getting the biggest kick out of the latest Sluggy storyline.
For those of you not following, Pete's currently got a Harry Potter parody going. ^__^
Even if you've never looked at Sluggy Freelance before, I recommend HP fans check this arc out--
Just for "shits and giggles."

Damn! My evil twin has his stupid saying stuck in my head!
Out demon! Out!
Get out with all the songs from The Mikado that refuse to be unstuck from my brain!

~"My object all sublime/ I shall achieve in time/ to make the punishment fit the crime/ the punishment fit the crime..."~

Here's a pretty howdy-do!

Eheh... I wonder how many of you actually like Gilbert and Sullivan...

*poing poing*

02:00 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2002

Well... thanks to you, here is my rant on the nature of art.

I'll even title it:
Art is Subjective
or Art vs Shit

To me, art is mainly about human emotion, and that being the case, it is highly subjective. Of course, there is some skill involved, but that isn't the main element.
Art, in any form -- poetry, prose, drawing/painting, sculpting, music, dance, etc -- is a form of expression. Not everyone agrees with each other, so naturally not everyone likes all art. But that doesn't mean it isn't good.
And it definitely doesn't mean that it isn't art.
Some people are elitists and say that only certain styles are art or that certain techniues must be demonstrated for it to be art. For example, my aunt with the PhD in musicology denigrates "new age" music.
But my personal belief is that you can have the most technically perfect, complex piece of work imaginable, but if it fails to touch the heart (elicit some emotion, positive or negative) of a single person (that includes the artist), then it isn't art.
And I'll say this here, too:
You are free to dislike anything and everything, but the only time art is shit is when it's the artist's feces in a soup can!
And yes, that has been done, and sold.

That being said... I'll still be an elitist when it comes to writing... And I'm likely to call stories with no plot, no structure, no characterization, and no grasp of the language they're written in crap... but with the understanding that if they reach/entertain other people that they have a value, and are art.
However little I may like them.

Let's see... anything else?
Oh, I see I'm not the only one that got snagged by The Dead Zone. I didn't watch the marathon, but damn, that season finale got me.
The show is like that for me. I don't watch it every time it's on, like my favorite shows... But dangit, when I start watching it, I can't stop!
And I don't even like Stephen King.

bite me, nerd boy

11:39 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2002

And the overreactions just don't stop. I haven't seen this much misdirected anger since audiogalaxy changed its ways.
Anyway people, get over it already! Fanfiction.net is not the only place on the internet! And NC-17 rated stories are not the only ones worth reading (in fact, few of them are) and they're unlikely to axe R-rated stories (although they are likely to have to delete stories trying to bend the rules by giving R ratings to stuff that's NC-17).
Okay, what set me off this time? Someone saying that it is against freedom of imagination? Please? Who told you that you could no longer imagine things? And like fanfiction.net is the only place you could possibly post your fanfiction? There're private fanfic archives, personal pages, and ff.net-like sites like fandomination and there was (don't know if there still is) a fanfic.net.
And it's not like the people behind ff.net made this decision lightly. If you read the page, they really didn't want to do it. But everyone's so busy being pointlessly outraged that it never occurs to them to consider both sides of the issue.
Am I the only one who thinks of the children? I may not like most kids I'm not related to (I usually blame this on their parents not teaching them manners, though), but I don't think it is good for them to read NC-17 stories. And yes, measures are set, and warnings given -- but how many times did I ignore the "No Tresspassing" signs on neighboring property when I was a kid?
Anyway, the ff.net moderator had a point about how there seem to be a disproportionate amount of adult fics in genres intended for children (Poke and Digi mons, and Harry Potter for example). And a lot of those feature underaged characters in graphic situations (and stories in other genres may have ff.net rule-breaking content, like hate content)...
In any event, my nephew and my best friend's little sister like one or all of the above genres and I know that I would never want them to read some of them. Not for yaoi or slash issues -- many of the heterosexual situations are far more revolting -- but because there is some stuff on there that they just shouldn't read.

Okay, that's out of my system. Y'all can feel free to ignore my overreaction to overreactions. I mean, the only people likely to actually read and consider what I say are people that already agree with me or who weren't bothered by the change.
Those that disagree are likely to not even read all of what I say, or consider any of it, and call me close-minded.
And for those that don't think that I am looking at both sides. Yes, I know it's censorship. And no, I don't think full removal is the only answer. A lot of decent writers are getting wronged in this process, but it is done out of consideration for the greater good -- and to halt some of the bitching that must pour in non-stop to the hapless ff.net mods.
Anyhoot, how hard is it for NC-17 writers to add a line to their bio, saying where their NC-17 fics are posted. If people find their stuff w/out gratuities worth reading, then they'll go look for it.
(And that should weed out the poorly written, unthought-out adolescent fantasies.)

Alright, alright... I'm done now! Really!

=P~~~~~~~
Razz-berry!
...
Probably very few of you have seen Thoroughly Modern Millie... It's from that older movie (Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore ... and it's currently out of print so my whole family is upset because we can't get it).
(And I know it's spelled raspberry, but that's how Carol Channing said it in the movie.)

Okay then...
Sorry... Last time I looked, I couldn't find any English fanfiction for MoB. The anime is too recent and the novels too obscure for most fans here-abouts. And even if you could read the Japanese fiction...
Well, other than the abounding names full of difficult kanji, they're pretty much all based off the novels. And at novel #35 having come out recently, I don't think that you'd get even half of it with only knowledge from the anime.
So, if you could puzzle through the Japanese, the only things you would be likely to understand would be the PWP's... and we know how we both feel about those!

Anyway, off to do evil, etc etc!

09:05 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2002

Okay, I'm probably the only one to find this amusing...
But honestly, on a site that emphasizes correct spelling and grammar and all that in the fiction it hosts...
Well, for the recent find (from Leareth) of fandomination.com (or .net -- it's both), there are already some problems. So they ask you to "Please bare with this unexpected downtime."
*sputter* What, am I supposed to strip down until they're back online?
Oh, they meant "bear." They really should be more careful.
=P~

Sorry... but honestly...

Alright, so I've had a bit too much coffee today... But it's not my fault. We went grocery shopping and the coffee we get was on special, and you grind it in the store. And I am can't withstand the smell of fresh-ground coffee! I mean, we had it in the trunk of the car, and the aroma still filled the vehicle! And then it was in the kitchen cupboard, but I could smell it on the other side of the apartment!
eeevviiiiill....

woo-hoo! coffee!

10:49 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2002

It had to happen. It happens every time I share an abode with someone. They get me hooked on some television show or another.
My college roommate got me hooked on Babylon 5 and Farscape. My family got me hooked on West Wing and Alias. And now my evil twin has got me watching The Tribe.
Yeah, so it's showed on WAM here and it's supposed to be a childrens show. Nut damnit if it isn't an addictive little soap opera.
Oh well... My closest friends are more evil still.
They get me hooked on hard-to-find manga series or obscure anime.
Speaking of which...
I still need to get more of Oniisama he from Momo-chan. I mean, he's the one who took me along on his visit to half of the pair that subbed it!

Uh-oh... that kind-of leads into various rant issues.
First off: people who get offended by the mere existance of an anime dub. I mean, how big a waste of energy is that? All you have to do is not watch it! You don't have to be pissed off that they'd even consider it. Dubs do serve a purpose. A lot of people see anime first dubbed, and start to get interested then, I think. And I know some people that prefer dubs like them so that they can concentrate on the visuals. And take Dragonball Z -- why bother with subs in a show that's almost entirely about fight sequences? Plus, have you heard Goku's (the entire male Son family's) original voice? It's fine for when their kids, but...
Yes, I know some dub jobs can be horrifically bad (the translator for Rurouni Kenshin claimed no responsibilty for the use made of her translation) and it seems like they never hire any of the talented North American voice actors that I know exist. But all you have to do is: a) not watch it, b) watch it for laughs, or c) watch it when you're too tired/drunk for subs.
And save your energy for the truly offensive issues like unnecessary/random name changes and hack-job editing!

Okay... next rant issue is snobs. Snobs really get on my nerves (unresolved high school issues, etc etc). Like this person that insists that no webpage is worth looking at unless someone paid for the hosting. Excuse me? I didn't pay for hosting. I can't justify the cost (plus, I can think of about 100 volumes of manga I'd rather spend my money on). And there are lots of people that don't have the money to get paid hosting -- like high school students that are not given everything they want (or don't want their parents to ask what's going on their webpage) or broke college students.
And, for another thing, I searched long and hard to find free servers that have no ads whatsoever. I put up with slow uploading via ad-filled online file managers so that you all can enjoy my site ad-free.

The other snobs that bother me are people who write fanfiction to make fun of other types of fanfiction (usually inane, pointless, and idiotic to the point that you figure the stuff they're mocking must be much more worth reading) or people that write "fanfiction" that is a plea for keeping characters from being OOC. Now, there are some acts/words that would be OOC no matter how you look at a character, but then there are some that would depend on how one sees a character. These people assume that their vision of the character is the only right one. That is self-absorbed and snobbish.
If you don't like something, then write something better, not something worse and/or futile. Dazzle people so that they feel like all else is utter crap.
Be a member of the friendly elite, rather than a rude snob of undisplayed talent.

Okay, okay... last topic of ranting... I'll make it quick.
Yeah, so fanfiction.net is getting rid of NC-17 stories.
Get over it all ready! It is not the end of the world, nor if you look at it from all side is it a terrible injustice.
Many of those stories are more rated X than NC-17 and several were crap anyway.
Besides, Leareth recently pointed out a new alternative (that doesn't seem to be working at the moment, but hey, they might be upgrading again).
So, everyone bitching and moaning, there are plenty of other places to get free written porn and to read the unrealistic sexual fantasies (besides unbelievable depictions of sexual situations, how about health issues? I doubt any of them have heard of a cervical cyst) of people too young to legally read their own work.
...I presented a toned-down version of that elsewhere (this is an acceptable place to bitch-rant, mailing lists are not), but I'll probably still piss people off. I should see someone about this urge to futility (i.e. trying to be the voice of reason where you're likely to be igonored or seen as someone making a personal attack).

On to happier subjects...
=P~~~
Leareth-babe, I knew you'd love Naoe! The looks, the voice...
And you just have to see him in episode 7... That's when he starts to get really interesting. ^_^
Too bad it's not subbed (ep 7+), and is unlikely to be so by any reputable fansubber. It's been liscenced already!
No, other people, no bitching about dubs! Instead, think of DVD quality Naoe and Takaya on less expensive region 1 DVD's and without all the hassle of trying to download them one place or another.
...
Eheh... I just remembered that I caught part of a Japanese movie about Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin (and Kagetora) the other day... And it automatically sprange Mirage of Blaze to mind. -.-;;

And now, some Japanese sites with great MoB fanart:
Kanans -- Once inside, click the lower left tile/menu icon to get to the gallery, and the left top-frame link to see the Mirage stuff (some pretty stuff in there).
Favorite Unavoidable -- self explanatory and with some yummy images in there (oh, and keep in mind that some artists were drawing this before the anime).
Nocturne... This has to be my favorite. There are some effective and affective images in there...

See, you all know that I wouldn't put you through bitch-rants without something to offer you in return. =P

Weeelllll...
It proved to be an "interesting" birthday yesterday.
First, there was the loneliness and restlessness in the morning. Then, when we went out to dinner at a restaurant we really like, I discovered that the menu changes seasonally, and that my beloved duck was no longer on the menu. And then my favorite red wine there was out. ;.;
Syrah is my favorite kind of red wine, but my brother doesn't like it so much, so we never have it.
Anyway, when we got home, I found that my best friend had called to wish me a happy birthday -- almost right after we had left for the afternoon/evening. And then, one of my brother's cats bit me for no reason other than that he seemed to be mad at us for going out. He's never bitten me before and he very nearly broke the skin. ;.;

Ah, but it wasn't all bad. I got food and wine I liked well enough at the restaurant...
And before that, we had hit the Kinokuniya in Costa Mesa, and I got some new new manga (as opposed to new used manga =P). I was very happy. They had Cantarella volume 3! Wai! And they had 2-4 of Ao no Millenium! Wai wai!
I could only have been happier if they'd had volume 2 of Yamiyomori no Guuwa (they had volume 1, which I already have) and older volumes of Vampire Game (they had 9, 10, and 11, but I only have the first volume), but hey. I only had so much money.

Thank you for the "happy birthday" and the "present!" I enjoyed them both. ^__^

Now, I have some Ao no Millenium to read (I have more of it than of Cantarella and I know that after I finish that volume I'll immediately be wanting the next one that comes out mid-late September) and a cat to reassure that he's loved (since I don't like being bitten).

oh rats...

*SIGH* For once, being home by myself is a problem. I usually enjoy the time to myself.
But today, I want to be doing stuff and seeing people.
It is my birthday after all. And I've only gotten a "happy birthday" from my evil twin and from my parents (over the phone).
I feel huggy today (I usually don't, and hug people more out of a wish to not offend than a desire for contact) and there's no one to hug.
And I already got most of my presents from people (for various reasons), so nothing, except my getting up early to make breakfast for my evil twin and myself, is making this day special yet.
...My brother made cakes -- to take to the people in his gemology class...

Oh well... We're going to go out later, and I intend to use birthday money from grandma to buy new manga.
So there! =P

In other news... I'm a strange person.
No, no... I've uncovered a new way I'm strange.
I neither act my age nor my generation.
Example of the former: 3 of my b-day gifts were monkey slippers, a monkey CD case, and a children's book.
Example of the latter: I discovered last night that I'd rather watch So Graham Norton on BBC America than the MTV Video Music Awards -- and that most of the VMA gave me the desire to press the mute button.
The only thing I really got out of the VMA was the disturbing discovery that my best friend has the same birthday as Michael Jackson.

Gee... looks like I had bad timing with you on sending you stuff. How do I always manage to do that?
You will tell me soon at least whether or not you're disappointed in Chapter 4 there (complete beta can wait till you have more time) and if the other teaser caught you're interest and if you think the idea is worthwhile (I don't expect a beta on that one -- I only want beta reading on my pet projects).
I'll send you a slice of my birthday cake!
Don't have to worry about the shipping and it going bad or anything, since it only exists in my mind! =P

Whee! And I'm looong overdue in saying "Hi" and "How ya doin'?" to you. So...
Hi! How ya doin'? =P
Anyhoot, I'll email you soon(er or later).

Weellll.... I'm feeling a bit better now.
And my family was visiting, but now they've gone, so I can rest more...
Not that their visit was all bad. I got some early b-day presents...
We all went to see the Beauty and the Beast musical...
And I got a notebook computer!

Hehehe... I figured on entrapping my sister into Sluggy Freelance now that I have the books, and since she had time to read them...
But I never would have guessed that my 8-year-old nephew would read them both thoroughly and love them to death!
I turned my nephew into a Sluggite!

=P~~~~~~
Ho-hum, ho-hum... Someone needs to check their inbox...
...the new computer has been... broken in...

Well now... apparently I'm just the red-headed step-child of Tatsumi x Tsuzuki writers.
...
Sorry, it's my brother's expression. But it seems like every newbie to that mailing list raves about everyone, except me.
Actually, it doesn't bother me that much anymore, but I'm not feeling good, and I haven't been feeling good for a week, which is why I haven't been blogging. Now, a little raving isn't going to ease my throat, but it's one of those times when a little excessive gushing would actually be appreciated.

Apparently, I have strep. ;.;

Yeah... soo... I did get my webpage working again... and I think since yesterday, it's all perfect (when one server or the other isn't experiencing temp downtime).

Other than that... the most creative activity I've felt up to is making smoothies.
I don't even feel like writing up a quick intro to Witch Hunter Robin for you, sweetie (and I scarcely notice people gushing over you any more -- it happens so much that it's like white noise =P).

Anyway... more to come when I feel like putting more [coherent] sentences together. Take care of neglected friends, neglected webpages, and neglected ranting...
Right now, I'm going back to bed...
