Today was my sencond day at work. I am part timing at a cafe/pub called THE GARAGE. Its fun working for people you know and time really pass real fast. I had lots of fun learning to make drinks...what a change from the military! The money will come in useful as i have so many plans for JULY! I have to redo my Scooter by repaint and restoring it after the crash i had last friday. I am looking at doing a MODs style with Metallic Red and Cream as the colour scheme.... Then i have to save up for the COLDPLAY/TRAVIS concert! Thank GOd I have the endurance to steer clear of watching David Copperfield and the LIVERPOOL game. I hope that my hall application at Eusoff will get through as well.... so many things for a fun filled last month serving the military... ORD Loh!!

Friday, June 22, 2001 11:21 p.m. Crash Crash
Man... sorry... have not been updating the page.... urrgggh... i crashed my scooter on the way to army camp this morning. Skidded on a turn. Thank God that there's no vehicles behind me and no thanks to the other drivers that stared and watch while i struggle to get the scoot up! now my pink baby is scratched up on the right side. I suffered bruises on my bun and knees.. nothing serious but hey... it just gets to you how lucky i was. On a lighter note, i have been planning things for Plain Sunset's CD distribution to the stores and the launch at Zouk. Really psyched to see them go on a media blitz. to you guys out there its on the 21 July 2001 at Zouk. Together with FISHTANK's debut EP.

Tuesday, June 12, 2001 12:33 a.m. Home at Last!
haven't updated the last few days of the trip... thats because we were so packed with the travelling. Plain Sunset played to only 20+ kids at Hamilton on thursday... traveled to wellington (8hr drive) and played a ****ing punk rock show! It was at a place called Underground Arts, a tattoo parlour cum gig venue cum home. It is run by a family of skinheads...complete with children all.. and they are very nice people!!Plain Sunset played with 3 other bands, Jet Plain, Tried For Treason and Foamy Ed. Foamy is an all girl punk band that kicks ass and put all in singapore to shame.... in the reign of pennywise baby! the show was well recieved and playing to a room full of Punks with mohawks and skinheads that were all nice but smoking lotsa weed was quite an experience.... Home at last but i dun kinda wanna leave New Zealand because we met so many nice people and friends that were so hospitable to all of us crazy singaporeans... so if you go to auckland and see a bunch of Kiwis saying "wah lau eh", steady bom pi pi" not forgeting the vulgaries in hokkein and malay as well... remember the Punks from Singapore were there..haha

Thursday, June 7, 2001 02:31 p.m. Start of the Gigs agaiN!
For the first few days these week have been shopping, queens street, cheap beer, kebabs and shopping for records! today we are offically hitting the road again.. heading for 3hrs to Hamilton for a show tonite. Then leave tomorrow morning for Wellington for a 8hr drive to play tomorrow nite and than back to Auckland on Saturday for another show. There might be 4 shows in 3 nites as Plain Sunset might just play 2 shows on saturday, one at a place called PIZZA PIZZA and another at KING'S ARMS. Please keep us in your prayers as Nizam would be driving and a couple of guys are down with a cold. Other than that this trip is Rock N Roll! Lots of new friends made, Connections, talks of future tours with bigger punk bands! so stay tuned guys! oh...Shidah, Nizam misses you too! we'll take good care of him and make sure he is okay to drive..no worries..

Just went on National Kiwi Radio with Plain Sunset!! 99.5fm was doing their weekly hardcore/punk nite and its rad to go on a live interview with the station. We got a Parking Ticket downtown when we parked illegally for coffee and announced it on air for callers to tell us how topay for it!!! cool.... loads of people actually called!

opps.... one important thing i forgot is that last weekend, Plain Sunset were offered a Last minute show on saturday nite to play with 4 other bands.. It was in Devonport a posher district of the city, a kid's birthday! 100 people showed up with another 150 people outside. Plain Sunset blew most of them away! they played a tight 5 song set and the kids were crazy. One cool thing about shows here and back home is that...THERE ARE LOADS OF GIRLS!!! we had a hard time.... the new pick up line is .."ARe you 16 yet??

We wenrt on a 8 hr drive yesterday..4 hrs to Lake Taupo and 4 hrs back. the road was so foggy and it was the first time i saw sheep and cows in new zealand! YAY! Lake Taupo is Beautiful! It is bigger than SINGAPORE! taking into consideration that the population is bigger in Singapore than the whole of new zealand! Therest of the band members are sleeping late. We have lots of stuff to do today, SHOPPING! theres a cool Kiwi skate brand called Suburban and they are giving us 50% off all their stuff.. just for the rockstars from SIngapore! I am aiming for that pair of Camper shoes (cheaper...than home..i think) and a real Ben Sherman shirt...WE HAve been eating badly..KFC,FISH N CHIPS, ... but Wendy's Burger ROCK!!! oh.. theres a Mc Cafe down town queens street now... evil...

woke at at 5.30am...after watching kiwi TV till 1am. The rest of the guys went to a reggae/dub party downtown auckland. ITS COLD!!!!! we are up so early to go on a 3hr drive to Rotorua.Its a nice place with hot springs/geysers all......typing this with freezing fingers....

Saturday, June 2, 2001 01:11 p.m. Virgin Singapore Punk Show in AUCKLAND
Last week waws WICKED! Plain Sunset Played their first show in Auckland...Local Punk band, MUM's DOLLAR opened up the set and they were really good... Melodic, fast punk in the rein of SLick Shoes/MXPX/Strung out.... the crowd were real supportive when PLAIN SUNSET took to the stage.. JON looked like the guy from the rugrats right now... BUT when the band played.. everyone went crazy.. EMO is not that huge here but i think loads of kids are getting into it looking at the reaction of the crowd to the band. we made loads of new friends... the next show will be on the 7th in Hamilton (2 hrs drive) so we will be having loads of free days... back to sight seeing now..cya..

Oh sorry... but to MIMI if you are reading this... i staying next to a scooter shop called SCOOTER EMOTION! there have really vintage vespas (Jeffry if you need to know... '60s Vespa G.S 150, a Vespa 50, a Lambretta with a cool side car!) I haven't talked the owner yet but i will on our off day next tuesday and wednesday! I also saw a Rally 200 at a cafe downtown.....I mISS MY SCOOTER!

Friday, June 1, 2001 03:55 p.m. Its COld....very ...
woke up this morning freezing.... went to bed at midnite auckland time but about 8pm singapore time! Jon chan (singer Plain sunset) ,gordon and i shared a room... both of us slept on the sleeping bags whereas the rock star on a bed..:) the rest of the sunset boys couldn't sleep and they were making so much noise in the other room... finally Jon brought them out to a coffee place and they din sleep till 3 in the morning... I woke up early today at 10am and went for coffee at a cool cafe called ROASTED ADDIQTION! Double Shots all the way! Coffee here is way cheaper than Singapore and I am not complianing ... looks like i will have more than my usual 6 cups a day! The guys have gone to collect the gear and as i was up early.. Daniel Irvine drove me around town and we went doing the touristy stuff...beach, MT Eden (like MT FABer), Queens Street (Orchard Road), shopping (X-large, ben shermans, Camper.. but way dearer) OH other interesting stuff... WAN VEGAN almost got picked up by some cute Kiwi chicks... we were in a cafe called BRazil (gothic italian place with an old skool coffee machine) and the DJ was spinning BOB MARLEY... so i guess WAN looked like BOB MARLEY... so the girls were singing along to the songs LOUD. On another note, PlAIN SUNSET is due to play their first show itonite with 2 other local band sso thats gonna rock...will be working later in the afternoon so... ciao for now!

Thursday, May 31, 2001 09:46 p.m. ALIVE IN AUCKLAND!!
Hi guys, Plain Sunset amd the crew have officially arrived at Auckland! its been a tiring flight but everyone including the weather has been so good to Us. Its the coldest ever in Auckland but today the sun was up shing when we arrive. The Kiwis were real hospitable, driving us around for meals and stuff. We are staying at a cool warehouse called THE BASE, where we are having a show tomorrow nite as well. We set up all the equipment and its been really fun doing it. So to you guys in Singaland..... We alive and rocking NZ...... stay tuned..

Wednesday, May 30, 2001 12:16 p.m. Lion City Punk Rock
I am SOOOO excited... that i woke up at 7am, had a nice breakfast and watched the morning news! this sweet rumbling in my tummy and the excitement..man i just love it. Guess serving your nation for 2 whole freaking years makes you wanna break out of the shell and just go see the world! Went through the check list of stuff to bring, kind of paranoid, and Gordon especially (who is heading teh emergency plans for this years National day!) had also been reminding me to check and doublecheck our stuff.. LISTENED to the PLAIN SUNSET CD!! It rocks.. the songs, packaging and mastering is great.. much better than the first one anyway. Sham passed each of us 15 copies to smuggle over the customs! We had fun making Fake Gifts to conceal 'em. I surely hope Sham won't be late like he was last nite. He has all our Air tickets!! *Shudder* well... off to lunch now...hehehe...

Hi All! First Off.. a big Thanks to Peishan for designing this page!!! As of now, it would be less than 24 hours before i board that plane for Auckland. I'm pretty excited about this trip as I have saved and starved every cent since I entered the army for this trip! Going on tour with PLAIN SUNSET is gonna rock! They will be playing 4 shows in Auckland and Wellington. Keep us in your prayers as its winter, and Nizam and I will be driving the Tour Van. Other than that I can expect chaos and madness with the SUNSET BOYS! Tune in to any updates on the road trip! See YA!
