Spent this last weekend organizing my records. I've got about 800 or so. Pop Junk. Spoken Word. Childrens' sing-alongs. About 500 12" singles.

I hate to even think about letting it go. But then, I don't want to drag eleven crates around for the rest of my life either. I spent two years without it in Oz. Here I've been working like a dog to save money, I've barely listened to it.

So I'm making a list and selling about 99% of it. Between that and my Technics turntables, I oughtta get some bank outta that.

I enjoyed DJing, but to be good at it it's gotta be your life. And I've got other things I want to do. I liked the immediacy of it, but it's not always accessible outside your particular subculture. It's not easy to get more than a simple message across. And it just doesn't excite me the same way comics does.

Squalor
Saw a wisp of green smoke curling out of the air conditioner vent in my car this morning. It's antifreeze which is vaporizing and somehow getting into the air conditioning system. I think it's time for some more repairs.

Polyester Page
Here at QUICKDRAW we're in step with the high-tech tenor of the times. That's why we've got this new weblog thinger - to let you, the reader, know all about the exciting adventures behind the scenes of the hit comic. I'm in Southern California, saving for travel to Southeast Asia. And since I stare at a computer screen all day long, this webloggy is an efficient way to pass on info and stuff.
For now, check out the Polyester Page - my old Melbourne zine shop that just got raided. Stay tuned for more news on that. http://www.freespeech.org/qd/polyester/page.htm lots o' love - J Platypus
