Chillin' In Jakarta
After some 22 hours in transit I finally made it to Jakarta. My plane left at 1:30 am in the morning, and deposited me on Indonesian soil on a warm, overcast day.

Athonk was there to meet me, and hustled me off to his tatto studio. He seems to be doing some good business there.

Jakarta post-Suharto has heaps of new-found freedoms as I'm finding out. Athonk says the sense of openness is making people giddy.

Though I approached the dictionary definition of 'jetlagged', after many beers, coffees and energy drinks that evening we ended up at a party with free beer and live Indonesian pop music. Athonk's pal Rio came along and both made a good advertisement for the freewheeling punk lifestyle in Java.

Somewhere along the way we ended up doing a comic titled "SlugDog Bahasa Indonesia" and there's more to follow.
Any votes on what I should get for a tattoo?

Off to Yogyakarta by train tonight, and we'll be meeting a whole host of 'Yogya' komikus after that.
