Hmm.. today is so boring.. one of those (x_X ) dayz... haha, anywayz, I went to speedzone today! It was uhm.. ok. Nothing has changed much, except they got two more DDR machines. Yes, I know, me making a big deal over a DDR machine when I dont even play. Ha, that's me, makin a big deal out of everything... well, everything that concerns me, and wont hurt anyone else. Well, I guess this whole weekend is going to be like that... Zzz.. all day... Zzz.. hhahaha. I juss wanna point out to everyone, in HighSchool, we're gonna be what some people like to call, "Fresh meat to be picked on". I'm just taking this wild guess that, being "fresh meat" cant be a good thing. Plus the "to be picked on" part... *sigh* I hope I make it out of Freshman alive... or at least, with my body parts together. HAHAHHA.... PuahHAHha... Ok, anywayz, back to talking about speedzone. Speedzone is like... palace park, except there is nothing to do there besides an arcade, and driving tracks. Oh yeah, a mini golf course that sucks is there too... er.... Iono why that's there.... haha. Continuing on... I made a new banner for a website called NightinGale... It has a NightinGale on it, and a REALLY bad tree. The tree looks like a four year old drew it...h aha. I guess the tree just screwed the whole banner up..... puhHAHhah... Oh wellz, I'll make another one someday! Bye.

Todai was an ok dai.... everythin waz fine besidez the testing in dah morning... that waz kinda lame... Cause I alreadi wrote on that topic, and writin' about it again, was just not fun. The classes were quite short cause of the test in the morning so, we didnt have the full time to finish it, but I finished most of it. Nothing exciting happened till..... uhm.. iono, 4th I guess. We watched the movie "Glory" it's realli good shoooo yoo can go rent it and watch it too. Our class didnt finish but... eh... We got tomorrow to finish it... Hehe.. Well... TEACHER X was having a bad day too because he/her just had 5 periods of crazy kids, so.... when Bob yelled at TEACHER X, he/her got REALLY mad at him. So..... TEACHER X made things worse for BOB by making him stay after school. As you can see.... being mad at teachers isnt a good thing. K? Goody!

The photograghs of the prisoners from Afghanistan, bound, shaven and deprived of sense of sight, sound, touch and even smell, confirm the folly of the United States in its determination to go it alone in dispensing justice to those responsible for the mass murders of last September.
President George Bush asked the world to support him in the war in Afghanistan and in tracking down al-Qa'ida members elsewhere, and succeeded in marshalling an unprecedented coalition behind him. Yet it does not seem to occur to most people in the US that other nations have an interest in the judicial process now that several hundred alleged terrorists have been taken prisoner.
This is not simply a matter of high-minded liberal principle for its own sake. Martin Luther King, whose life the US celebrates today, understood the propaganda power of holding the high moral ground. The present US administration shows a lamentable failure to understand that a campaign to defend civilised values must be fought scrupulously in accordance with those values. Bruce Anderson, right, makes a powerful defence of the US case, but there are three main aspects of the treatment and proposed trial of the alleged al-Qa'ida and Taliban prisoners which cannot be justified.
One is the nature of the restraint during transit. It seems excessive for the journey, but shades into torture when continued off the aeroplane – the weekend's pictures were of the detainees shortly after their 20-hour flight from Kandahar, awaiting "processing" inside the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
The second is the attempt by the US to try members of the Taliban, Afghanistan's former rulers, whose crime was one of harbouring terrorists rather than any direct responsibility for the murder of US citizens. This is a matter for the United Nations rather than for any single state.
The third is the casting aside, not just of international law but of US law, to devise a legal system which applies only to non-US nationals and only because the military base in Cuba is not, legally, part of the US.
Each instance undermines the claim by the US to be fighting al-Qa'ida on behalf of the "partnership of nations" and in the name of universal human values. It may not have been the intention to subject the prisoners in Camp X-Ray to torture by sensory deprivation, but the US has an extraordinary inability to realise how such pictures will be seen around the world – as proven by the fact that they were taken for and issued by the US Navy itself.
The evidence of the use of torture by US troops in Vietnam was one of the causes of the collapse of the moral case for that war. Yet since 11 September, the US administration and media have seriously discussed the possibility of torturing terrorists to extract information about future threats.
The need to maintain international support for the campaign against terrorism does not seem to feature in America's insulated discussions about what to do with those detained in Afghanistan. Hence the inability to see that harsh treatment, designed to impress US domestic opinion that no chances are taken with security, will be read as deliberate humiliation in parts of the world which might sympathise with Osama bin Laden. In particular, the forced shaving of prisoners, on grounds of hygiene because they are "infested with lice and other parasites," according to one Pentagon official, takes the unnecessary risk of offending Muslims who could otherwise be persuaded that al-Qa'ida has hijacked their religion.
It is reassuring that the Red Cross is allowed access to the camp at Guantanamo Bay, but the damage done to the campaign against terrorism by US actions will not be undone until President Bush recognises the need to involve other countries through the UN in dispensing justice of the highest international standard. Only then will he regain the high moral ground and win the propaganda war against the enemies of civilised values.
