Whoops. Accidentally left the computer connected to AOL for several hours tonight. So THAT'S why my laptop didn't go into hibernation...

I gave up on finding out what happened with Mr. Big in Sex and the City. I figured I would have had to go into the second season which the video store only has on VHS tape, not DVD, and I decided I wasn't *that* interested in the series. Whew, good - no growing obsession here. On the other hand, am very upset USA showed only one Law and Order SVU tonight - sometimes they show up to 4 episodes a night, but instead they featured a Brosnan film. Dammit!

So, the deadline for registering for the February LSATS is like Wednesday at midnight (I think? See, I don't even know for sure). After February there are no tests until June. Hmm. Haven't studied for the exam still. Do I want to try taking it in February even though I am already pushed back in the application process by a year? I still know nothing about the law school application - makes me wonder why I still bother with the book (and what I mean by that is, carrying the LSAT prep book around like I'm intending to open it and study... not necessarily mean I'm actually gonna open it at all).

I feel obsolete. If only you people could know what I mean.

Yay, am so glad people are coming back to campus! Of course in a way this does me no good because I myself am not on campus, but at least I'll see more of you and hopefully you and you online, and then I can harass you and chat with you and make fun at your inability to tell whether your professor is male or female. You know what this means? I must be really bored and desperate for distractions and company. And maybe you could be so kind as to not spoil any Full Metal Alchemist on your blog please!!! *whimper* I haven't seen past episode 10 and I'm REALLY trying to ration my anime here... Oh, but I ordered a Furuba DVD online (THANK YOU for the certificate Morgaine!!)! Please let it come soon, I need a Seki Tomokazu fix.

The viewing of Sex and the City is coming frustratingly along, partially because I can never watch it in front of my dad when he's in the room (he's exceptionally squeamish about sexual content and nudity, even though all of his daughters passed the rated R/NC-17 barrier a loooong time ago - 'sides, he wouldn't give up the TV when football's on), and partially because all the episodes I've seen refer to Carrie's relationship with Big and her breakup with Aidan and Big's relationship with Natasha, but I can't seem to find the DVD that will actually show me what exactly happened. It's always hit-and-miss when I try to pick out the right DVD at the video rental store. Ahh! Jessica (if you read this), maybe I'll have to bum some more off of you when I get back!... Why is it, the attractive female character whose sole point in the storyline is to come between the main protagonist and her love interest is always named Natasha?

Have to go see the general dentist tomorrow. Bleech. But if the dental clinic resident makes a horrified face when he/she sees the stiches in my mouth, I'll be amused. (Who am I kidding? He/she's not gonna be horrified. They're budding professionals. DUUUH.)

The internet, the internet, the internet. You can get all the swag and stuff you want from your friend the internet. But there's nothing to do if you have only measly dial-up!

My sister, who's leaving early tomorrow morning, wanted to go see Cold Mountain in the theater today but is unconscious on the living room sofa (she's asleep) and Mom said let her sleep.

Finished Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere today. Satisfying recreational read, although the lead protagonist deserves a Weenie Guy of the Week award.

Oh, this is for you: the animated Fumoffu gif stored on Wilbur. Despite initial appearances it really is animated so don't close the window right away. And it's kinda slow on my dialup.

New Year's was just kinda a bust. I don't consider it a real holiday anyway, but yesterday was still high on the "this is really depressing" scale. We were originally going to go out and eat at this Japanese/Chinese restaurant that opened recently and that my mom is just a leeeetle bit too obsessed with (those people KNOW who we are at this point), but then my dad who was suppose to be on vacation went into the hospital, and since he wasn't back by the 7:30 appointment we canceled our reservations and ordered delivery from them instead. (The last time we ordered delivery from this restaurant, believe it or not, was Christmas Day. Christmas Day, AND New Year's Eve. *shakes head*) And dad was gone for hours and hours - he didn't make it back in time for the ball drop, and my mom was all worrisome; turned out a patient my dad was operating on was dying last night, so it wasn't a good start to the new year for him. Not only that, but when Mom tried calling our relatives in Korea to say happy new year, she accidentally dialled 911 (to dial Korea you hit 011). So around the time we were expecting the food delivery we were surprised when the person ringing our doorbell turned out to be a cop following up on the 911 call. (He was really nice about it.) After that, my mom in disbelief kept confirming with me that emergency 911 is indeed 911 (Mom: Are you sure it's 911? Me: Yes Mom it's EMERGENCY 911! Don't dial that again!). She was pretty persistent that 911 is not 911. Was thinking about putting a big sign next to the kitchen phone: DON'T DIAL 911 WHEN CALLING KOREA.

There's a lot of ado here because WVU will be facing some other football team at the Gator Bowl in Florida. I know I should know more about this but I don't - I just know it's a big deal here, and that WV is supposedly gonna get its ass kicked in Florida.

Using a knife for PBJs is perfectly normal, you weirdo.

Owie owie. I had the second gum graft on Monday and it hurt more this time than last summer. I'm still swollen on my right side. I noticed the periodontist didn't use as much anaesthesia as last time. Also, just got a postcard reminder that I have a general dentist appointment next week as well. RRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrRGH!

There's a Law and Order SVU marathon going on right now on the USA network and of course I've parked myself in front of the TV for most of it (although, couldn't get myself to wake up at 8 AM when the marathon started. Uh-uh). Also my sister rented some Sex and the City DVDs from the local video store so that's been entertaining me as well.

*sigh* Really, there's nothing to do here, except watch TV, movies, go to doctors offices and ingest painkillers. And sleep. Lots and lots of sleep. Haven't started studying for those LSATs but it's still December, will get to it once the house is empty. Could I make a living crying out "Objection!" like Cabot does on SVU? ... OK. Must not take fantasy world of TV as aspiration for career.

You know that calendar you two got me? I just realized that since it's at school and I'm at home I'm not gonna be able to share those interesting little quotes for an entire month. Buu. Eating is a normal part of the holidays, I wouldn't worry if I were you... and I want to see your haircut!

Poor you. The toilet thing sounds like something straight out of a Ben Stiller movie.

Saw RotK again last night with my parents and my third sister, who hadn't seen it yet. Uugh. It's a good movie but it was way too long the first time and too long again the second time... the LotR movies are good but too much for the casual viewer to be taken in in large quantities! If anyone drags me for a third time I'm either going to scream or fall asleep.

Shazia, I don't know if you read this but when I tried clicking on the ecard you sent me... it's taking a very long time to load on dial-up. =(

WV is gonna have an ANIME CON!

If it's not earthquakes, it's mudslides out there. Good grief, how do you people live out there in that wilderness? (Yes, wilderness.) But yay for MP3 players! Who's getting married - anyone I know??

Never shopping with the maternal unit - I avoid that as much as possible! I feel your pain.

Dial-up sucks. Am tempted to watch the last two episodes of Full Metal Alchemist that I haven't seen yet but it has to last me til either I go back to school or the lovely super-nice Morgainechan downloads it for me =D Have been watching Last Exile for the past few days - I want to pummel both that Lavi girl and that Al girl. The vanships are cool to look at but the pace of this is just kinda starting out slow - is it gonna pick up soon? At least that captain of the Sylvana guy, Alex whatever, is kinda bishie =P he reminds me a bit of Johnny Depp (oohhhh, Johnny Depp! I had a really really nice dream about him the other night. I love dreams like that. *sigh*). Anyway, have to ration what precious anime I have left to watch - I didn't plan very well before I left school; my Furuba anime is at school but I'm dying to watch it again, I've been thoroughly reading my Japanese Furuba manga to try to keep up with my Japanese skills. Unfortunately I have only the first 3 in Japanese - I bought the rest in Korean. KOREAN! When I can't even read the damn thing! How stupid of that was me??? Arrrrgh.

Charleston's gonna have its own anime convention!! Actually, I was surprised to learn that Charleston also has an anime/manga society. When I saw that it was scheduled for sometime in October 2004 my first thought was, "OH BOY! Maybe it'll be happening during my Fall Break and I can attend on my long weekend!" Then I awoke to reality and rememberd that I am probably NOT gonna have a Fall Break since I won't be in college anymore. Suckage. But it's cool West Virginia's finally gonna have its own convention, even if it does suck (I mean, can it suck any more than Anime Boston did last year, when we couldn't even get into the convention center? I think not).

How's this for suckage, though: my sister in Minnesota, who had to work Christmas Day, was suppose to fly home today via Chicago but they cancelled her flight because of this whole stupid terrorism alert levels whatever. So not only did she have to spend Christmas at work, she can't even come home today and has to wait one more day.

Wednesday, Christmas Eve 2003 01:11 p.m.

Firstly, I hope all you Cally people weren't hurt by that earthquake (which apparently you must have slept through?).

Happy holidays. If you're wondering how I can update this when I don't have internet at home, and then if you're thinking I installed AOL on my computer again... you're right. My two older sisters can take commanding control over the TV and DVD player if they so like, but the computer is MY domain! Muah ha ha... I gave AOL a different credit card number this time so hopefully they won't be on to me (but hey - they kept sending me those free CDs after I cancelled in November, they can't be too terribly upset that I'm using their services again, now can they? =D).

Am looking forward to seeing my two oldest sisters take off and I get the house to myself starting next week. One sister is hogging the TV even when studying and being her usual obnoxious, insensitive, self-championing self (can you tell we've had an argument in the past few days? Yeah). The other is complaining why everyone asks why she doesn't have a boyfriend and then turns and heckles me as to why I don't have a job. *exhales* Am looking forward to when my third sister comes home - she's the one who doesn't give me grief most of the time. Am NOT looking forward to being dragged to church tonight or having to be on best behavior when one of Pop's partners comes to our house for dinner because his family is in Jersey and he's here.

OOH but I saw The Italian Job last night. THANK YOU MORGAINE! It's a fun movie, I liked it a lot (despite my sister's "Are you done with the movie yet? Are you halfway done with the movie yet? Oh look at that you must be halfway done with the movie. Wait a sec you're not done yet! You lied to me! Why aren't you done yet? Are you done yet???" while I'm just sitting there silently trying to tune her our and tune the movie in. God. Now I know what it must be like to be driving with little kids chiming "Are we there yet?" in the backseat).

Have been getting diarrhea-like stomachaches after dinner for the past several nights. Am wondering if it's something in my ma's cooking? *whimpers*
