Put a smiley face onto anything and it'll be 10x cuter. Seriously.

Take the salamander, for instance. Or the ketchup at Johnny Rocket's (Yummm)...or even this slug. Haha. *heart*

Oh, and everyone go see Freddy vs. Jason...w00t!

np: Dashboard Confessional - So Beautiful / mOOd: happy

Today was great. I got hired for an internship position at SYNEMA3, this media company that does work in the film/TV industry. So far I'm only proofreading work, but it seems really interesting, especially the work my boss is getting into. Ha, that was pretty vague, sorry. I'm so excited that I got the job that I can't quite explain it. But I'm glad I did, and just wanted to share it all you blog-stalkers. (:

Oh, and I found some really cute pictures of Nohohon, the spring salamander, and definitely NOT least: the DANCING SQUID!!

Ohh yeah. (;

np: Dashboard Confessional - Hands Down / mOOd: LiSTMANiA :D

...so I caved in and bought the Dashboard Confessional CD... and Blockbuster was giving an additional 25% off of pre-viewed DVDs, so I got Unfaithful (Richard Gere...rowr) and Road to Perdition (which I figure I can take home and give to my dad, who'll appreciate Tom Hanks more than me). I'm afraid being in LA has done something to me...I'm beginning to be affected by movies. This calls for another list! DVDs I'd like to own:
Cast Away (2-disc box set)
Primal Fear
Futurama / Family Guy / King of the Hill
Married With Children: Seasons 1&2
The Mr. Bean Anthology
Finding Nemo (when it comes out)
Lilo and Stitch (just cos)
Fulltime Killer
Daredevil (cos I didn't fall asleep)
Ringu
The Ring
Resident Evil
28 Days Later
and, last but not least, CUBE
this is my favoritestestest movie ever...yet I can't seem to bring myself to buy it, hehe. It's $20 at Best Buy P:

While I'm at it, CDs I'd like to own:
Jane's Addiction - Strays
Placebo - Sleeping With Ghosts
Dishwalla - Live From the Flow State
Radiohead - Hail To The Thief
Blur - Think Tank
Zwan - Mary Star of the Sea
Audioslave - (same)
Foo Fighters - Foo Fighters / The Colour and The Shape / There Is Nothing Left to Lose / One by One (heh...I want my foo fighters CDs back P:)
White Stripes - Elephant
Beyonce - Dangerously In Love
Christina Aguilera - Stripped
Ashanti - Chapter II

Ah well (:

np: Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra :D / mOOd: happy

"Hands down, this is the best day I can ever remember,
always remember, the sound of the stereo,
the dim of the soft lights, the scent of your
hair that you twirled in your fingers, and the time
on the clock, when we realized it's so late, and this walk
that we shared together...and you kissed me
like you meant it..."

Thanks to everyone who came last night! I had the biggest grin on my face the entire night, and it's all because all of you came out to celebrate / called / e-mailed / texted / otherwise wished me a happy birthday. Everything was great, from all the fun (individual) bonding: Isolating the boys' side of the table by talking really really fast and really really loud; taking pictures by the bay; doing impressions of Margaret Cho ("is he THE geeeeyyy?"..."he tell daddy he love him...so daddy PUNCH him"...ahaha); getting filled up on tiramisu, fresh strawberry, and carrot cake cheesecake; and drinking strawberry lemonade till our lil hearts gave out........to Terry taking Torie and I to the beach, buying me a Godiva Chocolate Martini (soooo good) at Cheesecake, and leading us karaoke bar hopping because we weren't old enough to get into the bars...

Thanks to Fancy for uploading pics... You can find them on both her Xanga site and on her pictures page. Yay for people with server space (:-0

I luv you guys!!! <3

np: Spitz - Sora mo toberu hazu / mOOd: ahh hungry

Heh, I read other people's Xangas on a daily basis and wonder why they don't update... But I always forget to update my own. P:

Let's see...
Yesterday I went with Torie, Nancy, Annisa, and Linh to get our nails done :D Nancy got a pedicure, and Torie got a manicure, n I got both... French tipped toenails are soo pretty! I never thot I'd ever get them (I admit the manicure was kind of a waste since I could've done a better job painting my own nails) but the white-pink color they used was really cute. And now my nails are squared off nicely too. Torie uploaded a pic of her nails, which look pretty much the same as mine (:

Afterwards, I sat around and watched Groundhog Day (such a sweet movie!) and Spawn (completely unrelated) on TBS with Daich (: You'll all be happy to know I did NOT fall asleep!

It's great now that summer school's almost over and lots of people's birthdays are coming up! I just got back from Y.Lee's birthday dinner at C&Os...then Kevin and Chris wanted to drink so we went on a trek in search of alcohol. About an hour later we brought 4 bottles of 40 oz. Cobras (beer), 99 Apples (99 proof!), and Malibu (coconut rum) back to Y.Lee's fancy apt (: And she didn't puke this time... We'll get her tolerance up yet, mwehehe.

Ooh, and I went to Carl's Jr. for the first time on...Thursday. A good end to a long day of babysitting. The Sourdough bacon burger is soooo good :D Everyone try the Six Dollar Burger n tell me how it is ;) Mmm...bacon... *eats keyboard*

4.54pm-7.55pm :: Mon, 4 Aug 03
np: BoA - My Sweetie / mOOd: *munch*

Phew, finally back in the blogging game. (: Thanks to everyone who responded to my earlier post. I should apologize, however, because it was made more out of self-pity than anything else; I appreciate the kind words / gestures and support from everyone.

And, in all truth, I'm enjoying myself in LA. I've hung out with a lot of people, gone our usual route, done summery things, and generally had a good time thus far. (:

Movies I've seen in the past month:
- Finding Nemo
- Barbershop
- Legally Blond
- Charlie's Angels
- The Hulk
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- 28 Days Later
- LXG (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen)
- Johnny English
- Punch-Drunk Love
- Adaptation
- Love Letter (J)
- My Sassy Girl (K)

You'd think I actually LIKE movies, hehehe. As ANYONE who's gone to a movie with me will attest to, I fall asleep all the damn time. (; I've fallen asleep during Spiderman, X-2, Pirates, both Matrixes, and both LOTRs. Out of the movies on that list, I've only stayed awake for the duration of Finding Nemo, Legally Blond, Johnny English, Punch-Drunk Love, and 28 Days Later... I guess it takes either bloody infested zombies or cute things to keep me awake (: Anyway, I never remember movies unless there are cutesey characters...or mangled, headless ones. Mmm...too bad there aren't any cute zombies :D I mean P: Soooo...don't give me any movie tickets or anything *laughs* I'll just fall asleep.

What else...? I'm getting used to apartment life, too... It just takes more effort to call people up on the phone because they're not online 24/7 anymore - at least, that's what Torie and I have learned (:< The summer has taught us that random trips are always fun :D
Ralph's for groceries... (or baking ingredients, when me n Jay spent 3 hours trying to figure out how to make chocolate chip cherry cake and cherry sauce minus cheesecloth)
Whole Foods for fruits and fruit juices... (yummm)
Costco for massive amounts of sandwich meat, OJ, and frozen food...(though not 60-inch flat panel HDTVs, as Terry n I reasoned Mina would kill us if we did)
K-town for soondobu / boba / shaved ice / groceries at midnight...
Monterey Park for late-night meals...
Sawtelle for stocking up on video / snack / j-goodness...
Such is a summer in LA! Good times, good times. Thanks to everyone for shuttling me around :D Here's to more in the very very very near future ;)
