Last night, after the bbq at jeff's place, i came back home and sat on my dad's car. This was at 4 am. Sat on it, not in it. The boot. All my life, this was the place where i've done the pinnacles of my thinking, and most of the biggest decisions, were made there... SAM, Manipal, amongst others...
Last night i made one as well. It was somethin i wanted, wanted to do, but i just couldnt do it. I know 20 years down the road,i m gonna hit my self on the head and said i should have, but i know in my heart and mind, it was the right call. In non related news, i m pretty much pissed off. My klang house was robbed a few months back, and along with it, my bday money of 800bucks went with it... i wasnt pissed one bit at that, but this mornin, my mom calls and tells me that my dad's, mine now since i claimed it, government service medels were flicked as well... Sonofabitch... i hope the people who took it are happy... fuck.... yea... somehow magically managed to pass medicine with a *suprise suprise* 50... Surgery was... i dont know. While my faith in placing hope in sect C was justified, sect B was... ridiculous to say the least. 6.5/ 25... Sect A, marked by the big boss, was ok comparitvely, but overall while failing surgery with a 33/75 my heroics in ortho managed to pull it up to a decent 52, decent in the sense that many of the major hitters in my class failed... so yea.. the osce's were a boost invariably with a 49/60 for surgery... while ortho is a bit of a suprise with it being 50 marks for one station. Surgery had 4. this leaves the only marks to come out to be Peads. Based on my calculations, i should have passin internals for all bar surgery... but then... who does...? in other un related news... fuck this shit... i m a stupid stupid boy...

yea... bout time. A lot has happened since i last wrote what was on my mind *goes to turn on the lights as he keeps on makin too many typos in the dark* where was i... yea... whats on my mind. Last two postings, Surgery and Medicine came and went, pretty hectic those two, with Medicine being a more fulfilling experience. Medicine is the only posting, if u miss a class, u lose more than u gain if u went for it. If u figure that one out, u should be in med school. Then the exams rolled on. Shot myself in the foot by being overconfident. How over-confident? I told a few people that *weeks before the exams* that we would pass the papers even if we sat for it the next day. No need to say that the over confidence wreaked havoc. Surgery was a decent paper in my opinion, until Prof had a class to explain the main trauma question, which was a gun shot wound patient. His explanation was... 180 degrees of what i wrote... eeeyea. The other sections still lifelines, but i m worried that even ortho may not be able to pull my ass outta the fryin pan this time. U know the overconfidence part ? Me and adam went to watch Rouge Assassin on Friday night, knowing that we had a medicine paper on Monday (Surgery was on Friday mornin). The movie was crap, but we felt we needed to unwind, which we did. Medicine... I donno... u know ur screwed when u see the 1st question and it takes you more than 20 seconds to think of a diagnosis. In my opinion, at this level, i.e. final year, we have to look at the question/chief complaint, and tap tap tap... have at least a provisional diagnosis and at least 2 differentials in mind... within 20-30 seconds. At the end of 2 mins, if u still have no clue, just go on to the next question. Made a few gross errors in that paper, so... Peads... Peads was decent. The dept kept their word on havin an MCQ/SAQ/someother funny initials questions, unlike the last time when we were thrown the 10th batch Unis paper. Obs was a disaster as well... and its a confirm disaster cause the results are out. Failed OBs with a 23/50, and that marks the first time i failed a final year paper bar surgery. Tho many may say section A was a bit off, i cant really offer any exucuses... Im just not good enough. The OSCE's rolled by as well... That went pretty ok so far based on the results. Both 70% for medicine and obs. At this point i ll take anything offered as long as its a pass... i just wanna pass and get out of medical school. I know tht the workin life is worse, and its exactly like from the fryin pan to the fire, but i need to get out of here... Academics aside, Liverpool are in quite a rut... i refuse to talk bout that. Went home for the weekend (last) and went up to Rawang for a relations house warming... House was pretty cool (both temperature and color) and once again, i m more at home with the Kids... i just cant get along with the adults as well as i do... xcpt maybe the bangsar people cause i grew up there a bit (the kajang people werent there) Speaking of colors, mom had me choose paint color for my room. Yea... my room. Decided on the back room, which is currently the guest room, cause there s no in built cupboard there. Planning on takin out the enitre furniture in that room, putting a nice queen sized bed, a study, a large enough closet for my shirts the usual stuff. The unsual stuff would be shelves. Why unsual? cause my mom thinks it would be messy... if only she saw my room in melaka. Ah well... decided on two shades of blue, which looks good in the picture, but i have no idea what it'll look like in life...
