Hey people. Sorry I disappeared off the face of the earth. Been a busy...doing...nothing. Well I guess not nothing but close I guess...gosh I am tired. I haven't slept for like...two days now. And since I think I am gonna collapse from exhaustion, I will just yell something out...
I LOVE BERSERK!! IT'S A FUCKING GREAT MANGA!! And I wanna have Gatts' baby! Not like a demon baby, mind you, but just a normal baby. Holy shit, he is cool!! And Griffith is a big honking idiot!!! He's a pretty idiot, but still an idiot! ARGH!! How could you, Griffith!! HOW COULD YOU BETRAY YOUR MEN LIKE THAT!!!!! HOW COULD YOU DEFILE CASKA LIKE THAT!! GAHH!!! *shakes Griffith*
Ok...so no one will get that rant unless they have read Berserk up to at least book 13 or have seen all of the anime....SO GO AND WATCH/READ IT!!!
///// Friday, July 5, 2002 ///// 02:04 p.m. /////
Wahh...so sorry I haven't been blogging people. ;_; Been busy and then I was tired after so I just vegged. ^^;; Esca and her boyfriend slept over for a weekend and so did Stella. We all went to the Pride Parade and it was really cool! ^_____^ Lots of cool costumes and floats. Although I was slightly traumatized by the naked men. x.x;; In Toronto, men and women can both be topless but actual full nudity is not allowed...but the parade people tend to ignore that. ^^;; Now if only those naked men hadn't been really old and ugly. x.x; I loved all the Queens and their attitude. ^_^ They were so bubbly and happy and SO confident!! This one guy was wearing like 5 inch stiletto heels! O_O;; I have respect for people who can walk on such high things. ^^;; And the Queer As Folk float was really cool...lots of half naked gyrating men. *laughs* They gave out a lot of these cute promotional banners...and I managed to get a whole bunch. ^_^ Score!
But yeah, it was really great. Me and buds saw Minority Report, we ate out, cooked in, fooled around, and just all around had a great time. ^___^ I hadn't seen Esca in like a year and I had missed her. ;_; *hugs her* And her boyfriend is really nice and cool. ^_^
I had a very cool dream yesterday. I was standing on the edge of the Pacific ocean and I started singing to the water. I can't remember what I was singing but it was something happy and uplifting. Almost like a tribute to the ocean. Then a man walks by the beach and sees me singing. When I stop, he asks me who I was singing for. And I tell him I was singing for somebody far far away. Then he asks me how I would know if that person had heard my song. I just kinda smile and assure him that she heard my song. ^^;; Nyo nyo...I think I was uh...singing for Leareth. ^^;; Because she was the first thing I thought when I woke up. *blush* I told her my dream later and she thought it was pretty. ^//^
Sorry to all the people out there who I owe replies and emails. x.x;; I have been very lazy with online stuff lately. >_<;; I am planning to new layout since I had this one for AGES!! Not to mention I need to link new people. ^_^ Silver Wind is really cool and her entries are very interesting. ^___^ I think she and I share a lot of fandoms. ^_____^
And just because my favourite girls from down under did the following survey, I shall participate as well!! ^___^
What's on your bedside table?
Well my mom took my bedside table so I only have my drawer. ^^;; It has on it, my stereo, phone, a coffee mug, lots of cds, a few picture frames, two alarm clocks (because I sleep like a log), loose change, my mp3 player, two angel statues. Very cluttered. ^^;;
What's the geekiest part of your music collection?
Uh...Disney? ^^;; I bought the soundtrack for a few Disney movies when I was little. Of course back then, Disney actually did some decent stuff...like Beauty and the Beast. *_*
What do you eat when you raid the fridge at night?
Uh it's really hard to raid my fridges. Most of the stuff in there is gimchi (pickled vegetables) or other Korean food items that is not the ideal midnight snack (way too healthy). I usually raid the cupboard or if I am really hungry, I will make ramen. ^^v
What is your secret guaranteed weeping movie?
Actually I am really sappy when it comes to movies. ;_; I cry really easily. So anything that is like sappy, tragic, etc and my tear ducts start working overtime. ^^; But uh, well it's not a movie but once scene that is guaranteed to make me cry is this one episode in Fushigi Yuugi. x.x;; It's the one where Tamahome comes home with a gift for his youngest sister...and he opens the door and finds...death. ;_; And then his little sister starts begging him not to leave home anymore because she will be a good girl. ;_; And Tamahome screaming her name as she dies and the gift he got for her dropping to the floor....WAHHH!! SO SAD!! SUBOSHI YOU ASSHOLE!! HOW COULD YOU KILL THOSE INNOCENT CHILDREN!! ;_______;
If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done?
I would NEVER have plastic surgery. I have seen a lot of plastic surgery being done and it is disgusting!! I can watch an open heart surgery while eating dinner and not blink an eye. I can watch someone treat second degree burns (which is pretty nasty) while eating lunch and not flinch away (unlike the rest of my grade 11 bio class). But plastic surgery??? ICK ICK ICK!! SO NASTY!! It's so wrong looking!! >_<;; The only type of plastic surgery I would do is if I got into an accident and I needed reconstructive surgery.
Do you have a completely irrational fear?
Uh...actually I do. ^^;; I have this thing with my neck...and I am afraid to expose it because it makes me feel vulnerable. x.x;; Especially when I am sleeping. That is why I sleep curled up and hugging a pillow to my face. x.x;; I also can't sleep upright for this reason because then my head tips back and my neck is exposed. >_<;; I don't know why I have this fear...although I used to have dreams that I was walking in a forest and somebody snuck behind me and slit my throat. x.x; My friend's theory? That is how I died in a previous life...oro...
What is the little physical habit that gives away your insecure moments?
I play with my hair. ^^; I also need to do something with my hands when I get nervous. So if you see me twiddling with my pen or something, I am mostly likely apprehensive.
Do you ever have to beg?
Depends on the circumstance. x.x;; But no, I usually don't beg.
Do you have too many love interests?
*DIES LAUGHING* ^___^ No, I am a hermit so no love interests for me. Although I do lust after many people. ^^v
Do you know anyone famous?
Well I know somebody famous in Canada...not sure if he is known internationally. ^^; Although he did do a commercial which I think they also played in the US...
Describe your bed:
Well my mom trashed my bed while I was in London so I inherited my cousin's bed...which is much nicer than my old one so no complaints. It's a Queen sized bed with a pale wooden headboard with some metal workings. The bedsheets and the blankets are of a creamy colour. I usually have 4 pillows (all mismatched) but right now, I have five. x.x;; I need a lot of pillows to surround me...and I need them to hug too. ^_^ Uh, currently also have two blankets because the air conditioning is being wonky and my room is the coldest in the apartment. ^^;;
Spontaneous or plan?
Usually plan but I do get spontaneous once in a while. I try to keep that to a minimum. -_-;;
Who should play you in a movie about your life?
I don't know enough Korean actresses to answer this question. @_@;;
Do you know how to play poker?
Sure but not too well. ^^;; I learned at our school trip to Albion in grade 7. Actually...it was strip poker...
What do you carry with you at all times?
My small black backpack full of my shit: Wallet, gum, pads, hairbrush, fan, mp3 player, a book (or manga), pen, and some paper. ^^;
How do you drive?
I don't drive. ;_; I am afraid of driving.
What do you miss most about being little?
That I could get away with murder. ^____^
Are you happy with your given name?
Hello no! I hate my name! My family name, my Korean name, and my English name are all so goddamned common! I know at least three girls with the exact same names as me!! My school screwed up my loans TWICE because they put my forms in the wrong folder due to my extremely common name!! I hate my name!! >_<;; I want to change it but that would be such a pain in the ass. -_-;;
How much money would it take to get you to give up the Internet for a year?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! ^____^ Very funny. Trust me, you couldn't give me enough money to give up the internet for a year. I have a fucking umbilical cord to my computer.
What color is your bedroom?
White. -_-; Very boring. Very standard apartment colour.
What was the last song you were listening to?
One Day in Your Life by Anastacia. Really cool song. ^_^
Have you ever been in a school play?
Several actually. ^^;; The last one was a part as Maria in the Sound of Music. ^^;; We didn't do the whole thing but a part of it along with other scenes from other plays. Kinda mish-meshed. x.x;; I sang Fly Me to the Moon for the audition and I discovered my director watches anime...and he gave me this huge bag with all of Fushigi Yuugi and the first two arcs of Rurouni Kenshin. *_* Wahh...that really kick-started me into the anime fandom...thanks Mike, I owe ya. *_*
Have you ever been in love?
Yes.
Do you like yourself and believe in yourself?
Actually, I don't like myself too much. ^^; It's really negative, I know, but I can't help it. ^^; As for believing in myself...well I try.
Have you ever done any illegal drugs?
No, but does second hand pot smoke count? *laughs*
Do you think you're cute?
I think I am cute in a silly way. ^^; Like when I have a whole conversation with my friends using cat noises. ^^v Nyo nyo nyaoo!!!! =^-^= As for actually looking cute...well I don't think I am ugly. ^^;;
Do you consider yourself to be a nice person?
Yeah I am pretty nice. ^_^ Sometimes a bit too nice. o_O; And no I am not full of myself! *laughs*
///// Saturday, June 29, 2002 ///// 12:43 a.m. /////
Ok!! I finally scanned some pics. ^_^ I re-scanned the previous Ahn Jung Hwan pictures to make them bigger and did two more. ^^v I also scanned some pictures from a cosplay convention I went to in Korea. ^_^ I have been meaning to make a site to write about my trip to Korea but I have been lazy. o_O;; But I still wanted to share some pics so I got off my ass and scanned a few. ^^;; I didn't do all of my favourite ones though...I shall get to them later. But for now, the ones I have are still yummy! *_*
I re-scanned my fav pic of Ahn Jung Hwan to make it bigger. ^_^ I think I will make a layout with this pics...when I get off my ass. >_<;;
Re-scan of the second pic. After I scanned it, I realized that I got the pic off the Chinese catalogue. ^^;; I thought maybe I should re-scan it with the English catalogue but I didn't bother. ^^;;
Wah he looks like Wufei with his hair tied back!!! ^_^ He is so pretty! The picture is actually bigger but the bottom part had a English message that made NO sense whatsoever so I cropped it. -_-;; Cursed Korenglish...
Ok this one looks similar to the second picture but for two big differences. The background isn't white and you can see more of his face...and lo and behold, Ahn Jung Hwan has a earring. ^_^ That earring keeps changing places though. O_O;; In one pic I would see it on the left ear...and then in another, on the right. Maybe the photographers are flipping the pics? This is the exact picture that I have a poster of. Oh my god, there were girls crying and begging at the store for this poster. x.x;; SO scary.
Ok I couldn't scan anymore. ;_; I was gonna scan some boxes and covers but I think we are sold out of certain items and I couldn't find more scanning fodder. ;_; Gomen nasai minna. Well I made them really big so have fun, make layouts, wallpapers, winamp skins, whatever!! ^______^ And now for the cosplay pics...get ready for lots of drooling and fangirl-ish rants. ^^v
OH MY GOD I AM IN LOVE!! HAKKAI!! YOU ARE SO SEXY!! PLEASE LET ME DO EVIL NAUGHTY THINGS TO YOUR BODY!!! YOU ARE MY NEW FAVOURITE SAIYUKI MAN!! *THROWS SANZO ASIDE* *_*_*_*_* *drools like mad* This man has to be THE BEST Hakkai cosplayer I have ever seen. He was one of the Japanese cosplayer guests at the con...and he was definitely the most popular. Girls (and guys!!!) kept following him. ^^;; I thought at first he was a woman because he was so pretty but then I heard his voice. A man for sure. And his whole demeanor and expression was SO Hakkai!! *_* He was so in character!! *_* I got so many more pics of him...maybe I should scan...I'll think about it. ^^v
Wahh!!! It's Anna and Jun from Shaman King!!! And oh my gosh, that Jun is SO SEXY!! *_* I was tempted to glomp her but I was afraid I would scare her. ^^;; A Yoh cosplayer showed up the second day so I got a pic of all three. Wahh...I wish Pyron had showed up too...
A really cool Zoro cosplayer!! When I asked him for a picture, I was so surprised when he posed this way for me. ^^;; I mean...doesn't his jaw hurt? ;_; But I was very grateful because it turned out so well. ^____^ Heheheh...I bet Reinselft will like this pic...
Oh my god this is so cute. It's a Chibi Sasuke from Naruto...but not just any chibi! It's a Chibi Sasuke Neko! And a girl too!! She was with her mom and she was just soooo cute!!! When she walked, she would tinkle because of all the bells on her!! I wanted to kidnap her I tell ya!! SO cute!! *_____* Too bad there wasn't a Chibi Neko Kakashi. ;_; There was a Kakashi though. ^_^
A giant Battle Royale cosplay group!!! I think it was three groups that bunched up into one but it looked so cool. They had the blood and the guns and everything. *_* If you guys haven't seen Battle Royale yet, what rock have you been living under!!?? Go and watch it!! And oh yes, it's a movie not an anime. ^____^ I have this one pic of two Battle Royale guys hugging...one last embrace before death? I love Korean fanboys. *grins*
Chi from Chobits was the most popular female cosplay subject at the con. But this girl was my favourite. She was one of the Japanese cosplayer guests and was quite popular. The pic didn't turn out too well but she was really cute. ^_^ I had a mini chat with her (gods my Japanese suck!! >_<;;) and she was so nice!! ^_^
Dejiko was also a very popular cosplay subject. My bro took this pic and it turned out really well! I love her pose for this pic. ^_^ So cute!!
Muwahahahaha!!! The boys of X!!! I love Korean fanboys!!! Such good costumes!!! *____* These guys were EXTREMELY fangirl friendly. And oh my gosh, look at how Fuuma has his hand on Kamui's shoulder...and Kamui is holding it too!!! *_*_*_*_* And just so people can have a close up shot of it, here is a bigger zoomed in pic of Fuuma and Kamui. *_* Seriously, these pics don't do them justice. That Fuuma was so hot...I wanted to kidnap him!! *_* I have always been a fan of Evil Fuuma...and I love him best when he tortures Kamui. *cackles*
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? NO IT'S SUBARU!!! KAKAKAKA!! I took this pic on the second day and the Subaru had changed identity. o_O;; I could have sworn this guys was dressed up as a Guilty Gear character the day before. I guess they all belong to the same cosplay group and shuffled outfits. ^_^ Well I like this Subaru better than the other one...he had the hair right. ^_^ And the bandages and the ofuda was a wonderful touch. Too bad there is no Seishirou...
Wahhh!! It's the really pretty Kamui!!! *_______* Well I didn't think he looked that much like Kamui but...he was still pretty and his outfit rocked!! ^____^ Kyahh...I wish I could have asked him to pose with Fuuma. Preferably with Fuuma on top of him and licking his neck. *_*
Wahh! I think I am done. ^___^ Did you like those folks? Well whenever I get my Korean trip site set up, you will see more. ^^;; I just need to stop being lazy...kyahh!! >_<;; Gonna see the game between Korea and Turkey in about 6 hours. ^___^ Really looking forward to that. Go Korea!!
And oh yeah, does anyone know if Ahn Jung Hwan is going back to Perugia or not? I keep hearing so many conflicting stories...one site says he is and another will say no. I don't want him to go...Italy hates him and it would be bad for him!! Silver Wind? Did that referee really get killed? I have been trying to find news of that but I haven't found anything yet. Tell me if you find any articles of it ne?
I will do social blogging some other time. This post is already so long. ^^;; I should sleep soon...need to watch game...
///// Thursday, June 27, 2002 ///// 03:03 a.m. /////
Oro. @_@;; My deepest apologies to people who I owe emails/posts/replies/scans. x.x;; I was gone to take care of some business (my god I sound like the mob). Don't worry. No one died. Although I did contemplate murder of a few people in my school. I swear, nobody in that fucking school know what they are doing.
Anyway, I slept through the last twenty minutes of the game with Germany and Korea. ^^; I was so tired and almost comatose. But still, I did see most of the game and I was very proud of Korea. ^_______^ For a team who has never won a World Cup game before, going to the semi final is just so damned good. And we still have to play Turkey to see who gets third place. ^^v And Germany was a very gracious winner...nothing low and dirty. ^^;; I shall cheer for them in the finals. ^________^ But gosh, I wish Ahn wasn't going back to Perugia...I fear the reaction of the Italian fans. x.x;;
One thing that did piss me off today. My father told me that my favourite Canadian newspaper, The National Post, wrote a really dirty article about the World Cup and Korea. They pretty much repeated all the other shit that has been said plus more. You know, if it was just that, I could ignore it...but then they started spouting off racist bullshit. They started saying that Koreans are illegally bringing in DOG meat into Canada to sell.
Now...I have noticed that whenever a country wants to badmouth Korea, they accuss us of dog eaters. When that whole speed skating fiasco happened in Salt Lake City, Jay Leno thought he would be funny by mentioning that. And what I wanna know is...what does that got anything to do with football? Or speed skating? We are NOT illegally bringing in dog meat to sell. Yes, in the past we ate dog meat because it was during the Korean War and everyone was starving. I ask you, if you and your children were starving, just how far would you go to feed them? Do you know what people in North Korea are doing now because of the famine? They have no rice so they are collecting edible grass and seaweed. Trust me, people in this generation in North America don't know how debilitating war is and how desperate people get when they starve. So we ate anything we can get our hands on. And I guess after the war ended, a few people still did it. But trust me, it is NOT something the population does normally. I don't know ANYONE in my aquaintance who has eaten dog meat. Not even my father who suffered through the war. You know what he did? He drank lots of water...so he can have a full feeling in his stomach and pretend it was full of food. Now how sad is that?
And you know what? China bred dogs to eat too. You know those little lap dogs everyone loves? Originally bred of meat. And Japan? They used to eat horse. Desperate times calls for desperate measures. But you don't see people in the news calling Chinese and Japanese people dog and horse eaters!! Why the fuck does Korea always get this shit?!
So what I want to know is...what does this shit got ANYTHING to do with football? NOTHING. It's racist, it's pointless, it's stupid. The reporter just wanted to badmouth Koreans and couldn't think of anything original. Not only does it demean him, it also demeans the newspaper.
The irony? 65% of the business people who sell National Post are Korean. They have all decided to boycott it and not sell it. Koreans are also not gonna buy any of it. Funny isn't it? It used to be my favourite newspaper because it never fell prey to "thrills and shock" news just to raise sales. It was also very objective and never said anything without backing it up with reliable sources. But now, I have lost all respect for it. I refuse to read it anymore. I blame this on the new owners of the National Post. The Asper family is infamous for controlling their journalists and censuring any who go against what they want printed. Well you can kiss my yellow Korean ass because I think you are full of bullshit. It's bad enough that the American football team called us "slanty eyed gooks" on fucking national television...I expected better from Canadians. I can handle criticism. I can handle harsh journalism. But I don't take racism. I don't take prejudice. Especially unfounded ones. I hope you get your ass on fire for this shit.
And oh, the cherry on top of this beautiful pile of shit? The journalist says that our coverage of the games is more appropriate for North Korea. *laughs* This asshole just accussed us of acting like Communists. Isn't that wonderful? And you know, seeing as it was Communism that tore our country apart, the chance of South Korea falling into that pit seems next to zero. But does he care? Of course not. But the funniest part to me, if Korea had REALLY fallen to Communist tricks, we wouldn't have lost that game to Germany. A few assassinations here, a few terrorist attacks here, and voila! Germany would have been toast. Hell with that, we would win the whole fucking Cup. You know, now that I think about it, why didn't we resort to Communist ways and just kill our opponents? *smacks head* Oh I forgot!! South Korea is a Republic and runs on a democratic system. Wow, how did THAT go right over my head? ^_____^ Gosh am I being too sarcastic? I think not.
And you know...if Korea was being favoured by the referees because we were a co-host, why didn't Japan get through to the semi finals too? Huh? I ask you that. Going into this World Cup, Japan had so much more fame and coverage than the Korean team. So why didn't they go up? Not to mention they had easier teams to play against! I'll tell you why: BECAUSE THERE IS NO FUCKING CONSPIRACY. KOREA WENT UP TO THE SEMI FINALS ON OUR OWN BLOOD AND SWEAT. THERE WERE MANY OTHER REFEREE CONTROVERSIES WITH OTHER GAMES BUT BECAUSE KOREA IS CONSIDERED A MINOR TEAM AND A CO-HOST, IT WAS A BIGGER DEAL. IF ITALY OR SPAIN HAD LOST TO BRAZIL OR ENGLAND OR ANY OTHER BIG NAME TEAM, THEY WOULDN'T HAVE BITCHED SO MUCH. WELL TOO BAD. YOU LOST. SUCK IT UP.
I am really upset. I know football fans get passionate (look at me for gods sake) and they don't take loses easily...but why the racism? Why the intolerance? Why the violence? I have been trying to be fair in my thoughts to all the players and countries...but I can't help but feel anger and bitterness when I keep hearing more of this shit. I know Korea is not free of all guilt either. Some people really egged them on. But just the total idiocy that I am encountering is mind boggling. I swear, if I hear one more comment on Korea being dirty dog eaters or that we bribe referees, somebody is gonna pay.
///// Monday, June 24, 2002 ///// 11:14 p.m. /////
Wahh!! I was planning to scan more pictures of Ahn Jung Hwan and post them here...but I am so tired. x.x;; Today was a very long tiring hot day. @_@;; And I need to wake up early to see the game between Germany and Korea. x.x;; I think I need sleep. And oh for those who read this blog and is bored out of their minds by my constant talk of football...well the World Cup finals is this sunday so after that, you won't have to put up with it anymore. ^^;; Just bare with me for a little longer ok? Bye bye!!
///// Saturday, June 22, 2002 ///// 03:54 p.m. /////
Hmm...a bit upset. I mean, all this complaining saying that Korea is only winning because of referees helping them is bothering me.
For the Spanish fans out there, let me set them straight. Those two "disallowed goals" weren't goals at all. Yes the linesman made a mistake with the call but when the referee blows the whistle, you immediately stop playing. When the referee blew that whistle, the Korean team stopped. The Spanish team on the other hand, just kept playing and kicked in the ball. That was not a disallowed goal because that wasn't a goal at all. It's only a goal if the ball is in the net during actual game play. Sorry but that is how it goes.
I really loved how the Spanish played today. Korea was not in the best shape since we had many injuries and we had two days less than them to rest. It was a very hard game to watch. But the truth is, luck is a big factor is any game and for some reason, Spain just didn't have it. We BOTH played very well. And as the Spanish goal keeper says, a penalty shot is like a lottery, you never know which way it is gonna go. I personally was really nervous because Korea had very little experience in penalty shots and I thought they were going to lose. I was later proved to be wrong. And did anyone notice the blatant fouls on the Korean team that the referee didn't call? Like that elbow into Ahn Jung Hwan's head? If anything, I think the referee was favouring Spain in the game. But do you see us complaining? No.
For the international community out there who support Korea, thanks a lot. It really means a lot to us. And for those out there who accusses us of fixing the game and bribing referees, you are only humiliating yourself. Be like Ireland who lost graciously to Spain and went back home to a huge mass of adoring fans. That is the best way you can really support your country, having dignity in defeat. To say that losing to Korea is ridiculous because we are an "underdog" is just idiotic. That's like saying David couldn't beat Goliath just because he was a little boy and the other was a giant. Well we all know who actually won that fight right? We may not have superstars on our team but we have heart and we play to the maximum of our ability. I understand how upsetting losing can be but please give credit when it is due.
///// Saturday, June 22, 2002 ///// 05:08 a.m. /////
OH MY GOD WE BEAT SPAIN!!! WE WENT INTO PENALTY SHOOT OUT AND WE GOT ALL OF IT IN!!! OUR GOAL KEEPER WAS SO FUCKING GOOD TODAY!!! OUR CAPTAIN KICKS ASS! HONG MYUNG BO YOU ROCK!! THAT LAST KICK WAS BEAUTIFUL!! DAE HAN MIN GUK!!! OH PILSUNG KOREA!! WE BEAT SPAIN!!! WE BEAT SPAIN!!! WE'RE IN THE SEMI FINALS!!!
I cried. No really, I cried. I was so tense this whole game. And when I saw that last goal in, I just broke down. I wept like a fucking baby. My dad had to hug me and calm me down. Oh fuck I still feel teary eyed. I am SO proud of our team. Everyone did so good. I am so unbelievably happy right now.
And you know what impressed me the most about this whole game? All the players were so nice to each other. Like, if someone fell, they helped them up and gave them a friendly tap on the shoulders. Even our coach Hiddink gave a friendly slap to one of the Spanish players. Well he was a coach to a lot of them back in his Real Madrid days so I am sure he is still friendly with a lot of them. All in all, it was a very clean game. ^_^ Everyone was very civilized. A nice change of pace don't you think? *laughs* I guess no one wanted to be red carded. ^_____^
But oh man...it was so tight the whole game. The domination time kept switching back and forth between the two teams. But both sides were really tight and no one was giving leeway. I always thought that our goal keeper was a bit weak but he really shone today. I am very impressed with him. And oh that one shot that glanced off the post!! Can we say deja vu!!?? Just like Portugal!! But damn Spain didn't have much luck today. There was a lot of close calls that gave me a heart attack. x.x;;
I know Korea was kinda slower in the first half but there is a reason for that. I heard that Spain tends to get a bit slower in the second half. Hiddink probably told the Korean team to defend hard and keep it at 0-0. Then you can exhaust them and then hit em hard in the second half. Well we were much more offensive in the second half but Spain was really good. I was very impressed today. I think one of the reasons the game was so close was because neither team was being arrogant and underestimating each other. They all knew this was going to be tough. Spain, you played a really good tight game. I have mucho respect for you.
Wahh...I was so amused. The camera kept on zooming in on Ahn Jung Hwan. ^_^ I am so happy he made the penalty shot. I know he was kicking himself for missing that Italian penalty shot. ^____^ Hehehe...I gotta scan more pics of him. I have become such a fan of him. *_* My parents have given out a lot of his posters to the Korean fans but I did snag my own copies. I have a huge poster of this picture that will soon go up on my wall. *_* The poster is darker in colour though with a bluish background. I know Silver Wind wants more pics of him. ^__^ Glad you like the pics! I will try to scan more. ^^v There are a few of him with his hair tied back...he looks kinda like Wufei. ^_^v
Wahh!!! Thanks Kit!!! ^__^ Me so happy!! And I am glad you like the scans!! ^___^
Ok I better go to sleep. x.x;; My parents are gonna wake me up in a few hours so we can go down to Korean town again and celebrate. ^_^ This time, I think I will buy a bigger flag. *laughs*
///// Friday, June 21, 2002 ///// 12:45 a.m. /////
The game between Brazil and England is pretty soon. And then in the morning, it's gonna be Germany and USA. ^_^ I really wanna see both games but not sure if my sleep deprived brain can handle it. So which game should I watch...maybe I will flip a coin? ^^;; But I have a feeling I will end up watching the Brazil vs England. ^_^v
Very very pissed about Ahn Jung Hwan getting fired by his Italian football club. -_-;; I mean, if they had a valid reason for letting a player go, I wouldn't be angry but they only did it because he scored the Golden Goal and beat Italy. Sure the club president says that isn't why but the rest of his statement kinda contradicts that point. He goes on and on about how bad a player Ahn is and insults him by telling him to go back to Korea to earn 8 cents a month. How childish. And in the face of this, all Ahn does is thank the Italians because they taught him a lot. Ironic isn't it? Well it doesn't matter that much because after this, he is gonna be hot commodity. I heard that England and Germany have already given him offers. ^__^
And just to show what a "hot" commodity he is...I scanned some pics! ^__^ These are promotional pictures from the make up company that he endorses so you can't find these easily. ^_^ But since I have connections (as in my parents ^^;;), I present you...
My FAVOURITE picture of Ahn Jung Hwan!! He is the one with his face upward and eyes closed. *_*
Isn't he beautiful?! *_* I mean, he looks better than the girl!! I saw that poster everywhere when I was in Korea. When my parents were participating in a Korean style market place, the make up company sent us a tape of commercials. It basically repeated various ones over and over again for about two hours. So instead of helping my parents sell our stuff, I kinda sat in front of the TV and watched him. ^^;; The commercial that the pic comes from is a cologne commercial...and it was so sexy. *_*
And here is another pic of him off the catalogue. *_* Wah he is so pretty!! *_* I know people say that Beckham is the best looking football player (and yes he is handsome) but I think Ahn Jung Hwan is so hot!! *_* I guess I like him better because I like bishounen. ^^v
His hair is shorter now and kinda curly. o_O;; I like his straight hair better though. ^^;; Back in his Korean league days, he had even longer hair! Wahh!! That beautiful flowing hair! *_* Gosh he is gorgeous. *_*
Ack...I better go now. x.x;; So late...and so many things I still gotta do. >_<;;;
///// Wednesday, June 19, 2002 ///// 02:06 a.m. /////
Holy shit it's late. x.x; And my throat hurts like heck. I will do some social blogging, but first a report on my day today. ^___^
Well...as you can see from the huge letters below, Korea won against Italy and has entered the quarter finals. *_* Wow!!! Italy made an early goal and went into the defensive but didn't do much on the offensive. I read somewhere that it is Italy's style to get in one goal and then protect that lead throughout the game. Well I guess that tactic didn't work out too well since it didn't pan out today. ^_^ On the last two minutes of the game, an absolutely beautiful shot by Seol Ki Hyeon made it in. *_* So we went into extra-time. *_* Now, extra-time is like this: 15 minutes, a short break, and another 15 minutes. If a goal is made during that 30 minutes, then the game ends immediately. And that is exactly what happened. *_* Number 19, Ahn Jung Hwan did the same thing he did in the US game and shot in a cross shot in with his head. *_* Oh that precious head. *_* So yeah, with that Golden Goal, we won 2-1. *_*
After the game, me and my family got dressed and headed off to Bloor and Christie which is the "Korean" town. When me and my dad was in the van (my bro and mom was in the other car), we had to stop for gas and got left behind a bit. ^^;; But when we were coming back on to the street, cars stopped for us and let us in no prob. *_* They were giving us thumbs up and waving! And whenever we stopped at a red light, drivers beside us would congratulate us. *_* I saw a lot of old ladies waving at me. *laughs* Kids too. Everyone of different colour and age were happy with us. Oh my gosh it was total chaos in Bloor and Christie. Cops had shut down that whole block because people were running, yelling, waving flags, beeping horns, and more! There were camera crews everywhere and everyone was going nuts!! Even a helicopter to get a view from the sky!! I grabbed a flag and immediately joined the ruckus. *_* That is why my throat hurts...too much screaming. *laughs* Cars with flags (and not just Korean ones) went up and down the street and we were waving and yelling and it was SO Much fun!! *_* There were these two vans with the Turkish flags on them but the guys there spoke some Korean and he was yelling "Great game!!" and other stuff at us!! And the Brazilian and English cars were so excited too! Even the Portugese fans joined in and honked horns and congratulated us! I really loved how everyone, no matter what country you were, all joining in the celebrations.
The Toronto Sun printed off a special free editions about the Korean game and their van came around distributing it. *_* So cool!! I lost count how many times I ran that street up and down yelling and waving my flag! *laughs* ^_^ And the posters of Ahn Jung Hwan on our store window kept getting kissed by girls who walked by it. ^___^ My bro had to clean the window later of fingers and lip smudges. *dies laughing* ^____^ Even the cops on the patrol joined in and took pics and pinned the Korean flag on their cars and motorcycles. ^___^ It was SO cool!! I later saw it all again on the evening news. Hee hee. I didn't show up anywhere but then that might be a good thing. ^^;;
One thing that makes me happy about this whole thing is how much respect and acknowledgment Korea is getting from the international press. I was reading the comments on the BBC site and there was so much positive feedback. I even read one comment by an Irishman saying they will cheer for us now since we have Spain next. *laughs* I remember seeing Mexican fans in the stadium cheering for us too. It looks like a lot of countries that are out are now rallying behind the Korean flag. *_* One English guy wants a final between Senegal and Korea...that would be so exciting! It's the time of the underdogs! Yeah!! *_*
Of course there is a bad side to any story. I have been reading the Italian's reaction to their loss and it's not pretty. I mean, any team that loses will not be happy and mud sling a bit but I think some of the things they did and said are a bit much. They blame the referee for the loss and accuse us of "stealing" the game. -_-;; And to make it even worse, Korean supporters in Italy were attacked on the streets!! You know, I am not just offended by that because I am Korean. I am offeneded by that as another human being. No matter how much you get into a sport, in the end, it's just a game. It should never be an excuse for violence! I was shocked when I heard about the riots in Moscow and how those Japanese students were attacked...and the same applies here with the Italians and the Koreans. It's just not right to hurt people for something that shouldn't be a matter of life and death.
Most of the comments that kinda pissed me off was that the Italians said they deserved to win because Korea is an inferior team. Excuse me? Do you think we won our block and made it to the quarter finals because of blind luck? Fuck no! We worked hard for it damn it! And we beat Portugal, who is ranked #5 in the Fifa rankings! If we can beat Portugal, why can't we beat Italy who is ranked lower than Portugal at #6? And Senegal (ranked #42) who only came into this World Cup for the first time beat France who is ranked at number #1!! Past history means nothing! What matters is now! Even if we did poorly in our previous World Cup games, that doesn't mean we can't improve and start winning! Don't understimate us just because Europe and South America has dominated the scene for so long. The Wheel of Fortune is always turning...and what is up will inevitably come down.
And you know what? Even when we beat Portugal, they grumbled and complained but they kept their dignity intact and went home graciously. Did you see the Portugese attacking Koreans on the streets? No! Shame on you Italy for such poor behaviour. Whether or not who deserved to win isn't the issue here. "Deserving" doesn't mean that you will always get what you want. It's about how the game plays itself out and who had the will to stick it in there to the end. And don't blame the referee. That's just cheap. We played a really strong offensive style and that won us the game. I will admit though that we had quite a bit of luck on our side too. x.x;; That goal two minutes before the game ended saved our asses. And that final Golden Goal gave us Glory. *_*
This World Cup is SO exciting. For the first time, it's really a "World" Cup with so many of the continents represented. And it's so unpredictable! No one is 100% sure now that the super powers of old will take the cup...and isn't that so much more interesting? The tension? The anticipation? The surprise? I no longer fear the other teams...I know Korea can do it. Bring it on Spain! We'll take you down too! *_*
I did feel bad for Japan though. I know they were really getting into it like us. I saw their game with Turkey though...and I wasn't too impressed. I think the weather also didn't help. ^^;; Gosh it was raining a lot. But despite this, Japan has improved immensely. I know they can do better than this and most likely will. Good luck Japan!
Wahh...so much soccer ranting. Or shall I say football? *laughs* That is one thing that sucks about being a North American football fan...everyone thinks you are talking about the other football when you really mean soccer. ^^;; It's really funny though. I heard a lot of the people in the US don't even the World Cup is going on. That strikes me as so odd because USA is making history too by getting into the quarter finals. You'd think they'd pay more attention. o_O;; But then again, the Canadian news channels don't talk about soccer too much either. But when they do, it's always about the Koreans!!! *_* Isn't that cool???
Wah Leareth!! My football fan buddy!! I am so happy! *_* *glomps* Oh gosh I have to scan those Ahn Jung Hwan pics!! *_* We gave some of the posters away during the party and the girls were quite happy. ^_^ Actually, a few guys wanted some pics too. *laughs*
Hee hee...thanks Kit. ^_^ Wow, I still can't believe how hard the soccer fever has got me. x.x;; Did you see any shots of Seoul partying after the win? It's a sea of red I tell ya. Good thing I managed to snag a red soccer jersey when I was there. I wore it today actually! ^_^
Ruaki!!! ^_____^ You are watching Full Metal Panic? Cool! The story picks up more so stick with it! ^_^ I think my fav episode was 10...or was it 9? o_O;; And why can't your roommate see fangirls cooing over him? I mean, if I had been there, I would have. Hell, I would have probably kidnapped him first. *_* Although that pic of him and Naruto was kinda traumatizing. x.x;; Kakashi x Naruto? NOOO!!! @_@;;; I'd rather have Sasuke x Naruto...because Kakashi is mine! *_* And if I ever run into a cast member of QaF I will try to get you an autograph. *laughs* Oh you don't have to bother doing anything for me at Otakon. ^^; I am sure you will be busy enough having a blast. ^_^ Just take lots of pics so I can oggle them too. ^^v And ooh, I like that pic of Ren. But then I love everything you draw. ^_^ You are a Goddess!
Wahh!!! Hi Anna!! *_*_*_* Yes we won!! Isn't it great!! Wahhh!!! If you were here, I'd run around and scream with you!! ^______^ And I see another person who agrees with me about the World Cup. ^_^
Oh wow I think I need to sleep. x.x;; It's so late now and I need to wake up early tomorrow. Wahh!! I won't be able to get a normal sleeping pattern until World Cup is over. x.x;; All the games are either on 2:30 am or 7:30 am. x.x;; Cursed timezones! >_<;;

WE WON!! WE BEAT ITALY!! OH MY GOD I THOUGHT WE MIGHT LOSE BUT AHN JUNG HWAN SAVED OUR FUCKING ASSES!! I LOVE YOU AHN JUNG HWAN!! I LOVE KOREA!! I LOVE EVERYTHING!! WE ARE GONNA GO TO KOREAN TOWN RIGHT NOW AND GET PISSASS DRUNK!! I DON'T CARE IF IT'S JUST THE MORNING!! WE ARE DRINKING!!! WE BEAT ITALY!! WE ARE IN THE 8!!!! YEAH!!!!
///// Friday, June 14, 2002 ///// 09:41 a.m. /////
OH MY GOD!!! KOREA BEAT PORTUGAL!! 1-0!!! WE WON!! WE'RE IN THE SECOND ROUND!! WE BEAT PORTUGAL!! KOREA YOU ROCK!! I LOVE ALL OF YOU, YOU GUYS ROCK!! WAHH!!! *_*_*_*_*
I can't believe it...no really. O_O; We made it in. Portugal lost to us. But seriously, Korea kicked ass. We were so good. I think we need a better goal keeper but we rocked. *_* And oh my god, that one shot that bounced off the post and OUT of the net gave me a heart attack. x.x;; In the last two minutes of the game, Portugal almost scored three times. I swear, the faces of those players when those shot missed...oh it was just agony for them. I felt kinda bad though...when at the end of the game, a Portugese player wouldn't get up from the field because he was in shock. ^^;; But then I was so busy jumping up and down hugging my dad so I lost that feeling fairly quickly. ^^;; Sorry Portugal, better luck next time!! ^__^
And that goal that won us the game was JUST beautiful!! The Korean player was on the side and a Portugese player slid and tried to take the ball. He kicked it into the air with this right, jumped over the Portugese player, and while the ball was still in the air, he kicked it with his left foot and shot it BETWEEN the goal keeper's legs!! *_* It looks SO beautiful in slow motion. *_* Wahh!!!!
But yeah, I bet Bloor and Christie is going nuts right now. That is the Korean business section of Toronto. ^_^ Heheh...my dad wants to go down after breakfast so he can yell a bit with other Korean guys. *laughs* I know my parents will be busy because of Ahn Jung Hwan. ^_^ He is the model for a famous Korean make up company and my parents are the exclusive retailers of it in Canada. We have TONS of posters of him and I bet people will come around asking for some. ^_^ One of them is mine dad!! Don't give it all away!!! Man...I should really link a pic of him here so you guys can see his beautiful face. *_* He is downright bishounen. I saw pics of him all over the place when I was in Korea. ^_^ I remember seeing this one pic where he looked prettier than the girl in the ad. >_<;; His wife is damn lucky!!
Oro...I need to take a nap. I barely had any sleep because of the tension. x.x;; Need to take a break and then party a bit later. My bro is coming home tonight so it'll be even better!! *_*
///// Friday, June 14, 2002 ///// 01:27 a.m. /////
OH MY GOD. O_O; I am finally done!! *dies* I finally finished revamping my Yami no Matsuei Keepers List!!! @____@;; I had so many requests to upload since I was gone for a month. >_<;; And then I decided to re-do the whole layout so that took even longer. x.x;; But the biggest pain in the ass was that Dreamweaver screwed up the codes so badly that I had to check every single line of code and fix the problems. >_<;; I hate HTML programs. >_<;; I usually write code by hand but sometimes I feel lazy and I use it to do some of the shit that I don't want to type up. They are good for simple stuff like this blog layout but anything more complicated and it drives me nuts. @_@;; Ahh...but my list is so big...and I didn't want to do everything manually. x.x;; But because of the program, I ended up doing MORE work!! >_<; UGH. No shortcuts in life I tell ya. -_-;;
ANYWAY, more importantly, the Portugal vs Korea game is in the morning. *_* Approximately 6 hours from now. *_* Oh I can't wait!!! Even if we tie this game, we can go to the 16!! *_* I mean, I want a win, but a tie is ok too...just go up damn it!!! Go Korea!! *waves flag*
Wow Leareth, you are studying? ^_^ Good girl!! *laughs* Well since I haven't seen you on MSN for a few days, I guess you are being a good little puppy. ^_^ Keep it up! And oh yes, I linked your site on my keepers list. Hope you don't mind. ^_^
Lilack chan, your Hikaru no Go obsession has gotten even worse! ^_^ Lovely new design though. And now that I finished my keepers list, I should be able to do some scanning. ^^;; I will do it soon nyo!! And oh wow, you and I like the same scene from the Utena movie. *_* I saw some of the TV series and I hated it but the movie was quite pretty. ^_^ And I kinda like the purple lipstick on Sai. ^^; I mean, that is true to the manga. But yes, Hikaru's high voice is kinda annoying. -_-;; And you are struggling with Dreamweaver? *laughs* Oh this is so weird! Here I am going back to my Notepad ways because Dreamweaver screwed me over and you are abandoning Notepad for Dreamweaver. ^_^ Well I wish you luck. I have found that it is best when you use both tools. I do most of the mindless tabling and layering on Dreamweaver and do more of the detail stuff on Notepad. It's nicer that way since I have this tendency to leave out end tags and then my tables don't show up on Netscape. -_-;; The program usually adds all that in for you so that's nice...it's only not nice when it adds more than you want. -_-;; I spent ALL DAY today fixing code. >_<;; Wow this rant is long...sorry...
Oh Neko chan is back! *_* *hugs tight* I missed you sweets!! I am glad you are feeling better. ^_^ Hope to talk to you soon! Good luck on your exams!
Wah Ruaki san!! I am so sorry!! ;_; I wanted to buy you a doujinshi but the convention I went to cancelled that event. ;_; Gomen nasai!! And oh yes, your cosplay pics are SOO COOL!! *_* You guys looked so good in your Naruto outfits!! And oh my gosh...Kakashi sensei!! *_* And that one pose you and Steph has as Ren and Horohoro...where Ren looks like some evil S&M master and Horohoro his kneeling slave...o_O;; It looks like you guys had fun though. ^_^ Kyahh...I better get my butt in gear and scan my cosplay pics from Korea. ^^;;
Kit onee chan, since you mentioned manga translations, that reminded me what I wanted to ask you. You did some Saiyuki translations right? Can you tell me the URL to it? My brother recently got addicted to it and he asked me for some. And isn't World Cup so strange this year?? I mean, France and Argentina are both out. x.x;; I just hope Korea can hang in there. I saw some Portugese fans on the street a few days ago and I felt like yelling "We're gonna kick your asses!!" ^^; But I stopped myself since I didn't want to get beat up. x.x;; They looked kinda scary. ;_;
Ano...Masako...are you ok? ;_; *hugs tight*
Ok...beddy bye time for Meta. x.x;; My bro is coming back home tomorrow and it wouldn't do if I slept too late and didn't see him at the airport. ^_^

ARGH!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!!! KOREA TIED WITH USA!! THAT GAME SHOULD HAVE BEEN OURS!! WE MADE SO MANY FUCKING SHOTS AND ONLY ONE FLUKEY HEAD POKE MADE IT IN!! THAT FUCKER WHO MISSED THE PENALTY SHOT HAS TO BE CASTRATED!!! IF WE HAD MADE THAT IN, WE WOULD HAVE WON THAT FUCKING GAME!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
Grrr....I can't believe it. We made so many goddamed shots...why didn't they go in? The US team wasn't that spectacular, they barely made any shots. But shit, that US goalie was good. We kept kicking the shots at him and he got them all. Only that one flukey head poke from Ahn Jung Hwan saved this game. Thank you Ahn Jung Hwan! Not only are you totally beautiful, you also play really good soccer. His wife is one lucky woman. ^_^;; He always kisses his wedding ring before going into a game. Now how sappy is that? ^____^
Ah fuck...me and my dad was cussing up a storm the whole time. I have realized that the only time my parents will let me swear like a sailor is during a soccer game. Ah shit...I really wish we had won. There was one last chance we could have made a goal. The pass was absolutely beautiful but the fucking idiot kicked the ball with the point of his foot instead of the side and it flew too high. Fucking idiot. ARGH!!!! >_<;;; Well at least we didn't lose...but we really needed this win. >_<;; The odds of Korea beating Portugal is very very low. At this rate, we won't be able to get enough points to go to the 16. FUCK! >_<;; Ugh...I better sleep now...gotta see Stella tomorrow morning.
///// Sunday, June 9, 2002 ///// 10:32 p.m. /////
Well I was gonna put up the blog entry that I wrote before but I changed my mind. I am gonna make a site about my Korea trip and I don't feel like repeating myself later. I am lazy. *laughs* Currently, I am debating with myself how I am gonna manage to make a new blog layout, give my Keepers List a face lift along with adding the new requests, and making my trip journal site. >_<;; Maybe I am being too ambitious? Well it's not like I don't have the time...but I just got some really good books from my friend Gemma and I have been distracted by those. ^^; I know...what a shock. Meta's internet activity being stalled by...books! *laughs* Well I will do them soon so I will pace myself.
Recently, I got hooked on the show Queer As Folk. I haven't seen the original British version but I have have seen some of the American version and I am sooo hooked. @_@;; The funny thing is, the whole show is filmed in Toronto so I recognized a lot of the stuff on the show. ^^;; In one shot, they drove by where my favourite Japanese restaurant used to be. And I guess our gay section of town is kinda famous...and big...so it's ideal for the show. ^__^ I got dragged to a few bars there on my 19th birthday because my friends wanted me to celebrate by getting drunk and then pick up girls. >_<;; Kyahh!! I have such evil lecherous friends!! Anyway, at the time, we saw them filming it and my American friends got all excited. I haven't heard of the show at the time so I wasn't very impressed. ^^; Oh what an idiot I was!!! I should have stuck around and got Brian's autograph!!! ;_; Brian is the main character...and so so hot. *_* He gets laid every episode...usually with lots of nude shots too. @_@;; Ah my virgin eyes. I swear, watching that show is like reading a really good yaoi fanfic. The characters and the plot is very captivating...and the guys are pretty hot. *cough* And the graphic sex scenes...oh my...
So after only seeing a few episodes, me and my bud Stella decided we are gonna buy the season 1 DVD. ^^;; Yeah I know...we are SUCH fangirls. >_<;; The funny thing is, I was really surprised Stella liked it. x.x;; It's not that she is prudish or anything but...well she was hiding behind a pillow when we were watching Ai no Kusabi so I didn't think Queer As Folk would be her cup of tea. ^^;; And that show is more graphic than Ai no Kusabi...*COUGH* Well I guess maybe my slow corruption has been working. *evil laughter* Yes, my yaoi hobby shall taint all I know!! Muwahahaha!!!
Ok I am gonna go now...I wanna finish my book and then watch the game between Korea and US at 2:30 am. Oh my god...if Korea loses this, there will be riots for sure in Korea. The Koreans want blood over what happened in Salt Lake city and the speed skating so this is NOT gonna be a pretty game...
///// Tuesday, June 4, 2002 ///// 01:31 a.m. /////
Ah shit!! I was writing this really long blog entry blabbing about the cosplay con I went to in Korea and how I hate Canadian customs...but then Esca called me and I got distracted. x.x;; Ah crikey!! Well I saved most of my entry on notepad so I will try to finish it later. I am so tired right now and I need to sleep. -_-;; I am going back to London tomorrow to take care of some business but I should be back by Wednesday. For all the people who want me to gush about how I wanted to molest that Hakkai cosplayer, you shall have you wait. *evil laughter* ^^v Good night!!
