Photic sneeze reflex (also called ADCHOO, Autosomal Dominant Compelling Helio-Ophthalmic Outburst) is a medical condition by which people exposed to bright light involuntarily sneeze. It has been suggested that the photic sneeze reflex occurs only after someone has been adapted to the dark for at least five minutes, although this is not certain, and is not uniform amongst people with the photic sneeze reflex. The condition occurs in one-sixth to one-quarter of humans, with more common occurrence in Caucasians than other human races. The trait is passed along genetically, with a 50 percent chance of inheritance.
The probable cause is a congenital malfunction in nerve signals in the trigeminal nerve nucleus. The fifth cranial nerve, called the trigeminal nerve, is apparently responsible for sneezes. Research suggests that some people have an association between this nerve and the nerve that transmits visual impulses to the brain. Overstimulation of the optic nerve triggers the trigeminal nerve, and this causes the photic sneezing reflex. Another theory suggests a passage connecting the tear ducts to the nose called the nasolacrimal duct. It enables tears gnaa to drain out of the eye. Tears leaking into the nose through the nasolocrimal duct are a possible cause of photic sneeze reflex. The speed of the reflex seems to favour the first theory, as it happens much too fast for tears to be generated and drain into the nose.
The photic sneeze reflex is considered a risk factor to combat pilots: people suffering from photic sneeze reflex may not fly combat aircraft.

aight. well, i did go to the dunes yesterday it was awesome! except like, people who i thought were coming..didn't. which ended up being good. b/c i thought i would b the only girl, cuz that's what the person, willie, who was planning it all, said. so i was like, "great". and so i decided to show up @ chuch and if it was all guys i would just go home, cuz, they guys are really weird. anywho, so it was supposed to be me, brad, phil, dj, and willie. BUT, phil who just had tonsil surgery like, 2 weeks ago started spitting up blood and it ended up that he had a blood clot. so he had to get surgery again. which sucks. so, pray for him pweeze. anywho..then brad was supposed to do chorse that he never did so he couldnt go. and so i show up and its only me, willie, and dj. but then! brittany came to the rescue! and then laura came! MY PRECIOUS LUDVIG IS BACK! glad to hear your having fun on your cruise! royal caribbean does ROCK! anywho, today was perdy cool. went to lunch with zach, tim, matt, and jessica lin, at portillos. yummy food. talked a bunch, it was cool. then we waited for zach's mom to pick him up which took a while, then me, matt, and tim went to his house and totally raided his CD collection, i felt kinda bad cuz matt and tim were totally taking all these CD's to burn, it was funny tho. actually zach made us take most of them. lol. he just kinda shoved them at us, like "they are SO good, LISTEN!" it was hilarious. then matt and i are like, we relaly have to go and drop tim off, but zach kept making us listen to CD's. it was crazy go nuts fun. of course, i didnt mind much. lol. anywho...tonight ive been in an uber bad mood. cuz i was supposed to go to a site party cuz my mom said i could cuz ive been freakin workin my butt off all day and then they tell me i have to stay home and clean and stuff. altho i already cleaned! and then my mom decides to go out shopping at talbots! seriously...so im at home on the compy doin nothing. at all. besides this. im really mad right now. this whole moving thing is really getting us all stressed out, especially my mom. its not good at all. well, i have 2 go. hope you all have an awesome week! im leavin tomorrow to go househunting in texas. ill b gone til next thursday! adios!

It started as dark and stormy night. Probably. I've been sick for 5 days so i think i got food poisining from a BK CHICKEN WHOPPER!!!! *dum dum duummmm* We went to 2 forts that were probably historical and stuff. There were colourful buildings and people dancing in the streets, (well, the colours were fading and hobos were doing belly dances for money....). We got on our boat and played shuffleyyyy board. Kelly won, and the trusty paddle went overboard into davvy jones locker. We had made friends with a puck that we called "upsiy". Kelly told me not to mention him because he's kind like Jesus. He's not trying to be famous, but he can't help it, and he walks on water. Our cruise director is hilarious and definetely british. He uses awesome phrases like "striaght away" and "brilliant", and he's obsessed with muppets. We assume him to be gay because of the giggling. The next day we went parasailing. It was loads of fun. The guy kept asking the couples to kiss, and took pictures. It was cute until he asked me and kel to kiss. I'm sorry, but my goal in life is not to turn on 35 yr old men. We went sea trekking next. We put on a 78 pound helmet and walk on the bottom of the ocean. It was lighter under water and we saw a barricuda fish as well. The next day kel and her family went scubaing while my family went to the beach. I had a lot of fun fighting the waves with my brother, and i think you know who won. I fell asleep and got my face burned. The end. HA! NO! there's more. There was i cool ice show that i just adored. That night there was the ships version of the newlywed game called Love and Marriage. It was funny. I was embarrassed the whole time....ah well. Today we swam with dolphins and sting rays. Our dolphin Picaso was the oldest and best. He kicked all the other young dolphins' butts. You know how i made friends with a seal last year? Well, this year i made friends with a sloth named "Benny". I named him that, we was cute....i'll show y'all pictures some day. That's all for now and i'll miss you natalie.

yes, so maybe i am trying to convince myself that i dont like them, but i dont think that's the case. because i seriously dont like any of them. but anywho...4th of july was perdy cool. went to the zwiebe's lake house, and that was stellar. we did some major tubing and my whole upper body is soooo sore from all of it. dag yo, i can hardly move my arms. and i have this massive burn on my elbow from teh tubes. but otherwise, ti was major fun and i got thrown off the tubes at least 3 times. lol. it was great. well, g2g. have a workout with jenny and heather this afternoon, heather's my mom's personal trainer, and me and the lil zwiebes are going to work out with ehr. so it'll b fun. then..pedicures! yay! well, later kids

sup foos? i went to ANOTHER site party last night and it was freakin awesome! and then i went to one Thursday night too! so many parties! it's been great! Thursday me, phil, brad, and kristin played one madly intense game of basektball, we were like wrestling each other for the ball, it was crazy. girls vs. boys, adn the guys won of course, cuz kristin and i suck at basketball. lol. and the guys always got the ball when wrestling for it. but otherwise it was all cool. then we played a nice game of fugitive, and the runners beat the car people. it was crazy. then last night's party was at phil's house so we played some more basketball, this time with a larger group of people, me, phil, kristin, kali, andrew, and dan, and so we played peron 2 person (man 2 man, whatever) and so of course, i got stuck having to guard phil, and he's like really good at basketball, so it was kinda funny. anywho....then we played ghost in the graveyard, and that was sweet. Then while waiting for some people i lied on the roof of the car and talked with phil about texas and stuff, and he came up with a good point that i can pretty much start over, like new and stuff, which is an uber good point, cuz it's true. so yeah, im pondering that thought. but im gonna miss everyone...especially you guys! you HAVE to come visit me! :-( and i still havent gotten my thurs. CD from DJ...argh....oh yeah. last night the guys found the Scream mask in phil's basement and they freaked me out at least 10 times, cuz im such a freakin spaz. it was horrible. jerks. lol.

Im kinda bored today, no site party aujourd'hui! anywho...we should go hang out today sometime. spiderman 2 comes out today, and i heard it's really good so we should all go see it or somethin. anywho, i might go with DJ tonight, but prob. not since i think he's busy and id rather go with my monty python chums anyways! :-D so, ill prob. call u guys later today about going to see a movie. i also wanna see the stepford wives cuz that looks uber good. and im still waiting for the thursday CD DJ's burning me, i really wanna listen to it...darn you and your slowness! lol. jk. the pool party yesterday was beyond cool, as you guys all no from my previous entry. i pick up my project serve picutres today and im uber excited! i took 4 rolls of film. prob. would've taken more but we were working a lot most of the time, so no time for pictures really, except when we weren't doing anything, which wasn't much time at all. busy days. yet fun! i have some major thighs of steel from all that there mountain climbing and working around the church. so anyways, umm...hopefully we can all hang out, cuz that would b uber groovy, yeah, it would. well, time for natalie to depart to cosco. adios!

hey guys. this entry really has nothing to do with anything important, but yesterday i got sort of curious and started to read the archives from way back when we started. oh man did we have a lot to say. it was a lot of silly stuff and it actually seems more than just chatter. it's interesting, you guys should read it. anywho that is all for now. if anyone wants to come visit me at the pool : ) i work from 1.30 - close on mondays, wednesdays, and fridays, except for a few days here and there where i wasn't scheduled. come!! it's fun!! there's lots of what some say are hot lifeguards working!! i could introduce you maybe. you understand why i don't see them as hot, but you guys are free to take a look. geez, it sounds like they are pieces of meat, but trust me, they love it.

oh, by the way, the news i just broke on the previous entry, please DON'T TELL ANYONE, just in case we do end up not moving. it's very unlikely we'll stay, but just please keep it secret. i wasn't supposed to tell anyone yet, but i had to. just cuz it would b too sudden if i didnt. my dad finds out tomorrow or thurs.

to check out some awesome pictures! it was way too much fun, and i also grew so much spiritually it's uber neat. well, i went to a site party on sunday night after our celebration service thing and ripped my fav. pair of jeans on both knees! :-( me, and these peeps, phil, brad, and brittany were jumping on the trampling when the guys started to knock us over, so we had a "tournament" guys vs. girls to see who could pin each other down first, guys won of course, pinning us both done like a billion times, but then my jeans ripped. but i was having muchos fun so the games continued....so, they weren't that ripped at first, but then brad purposely ripped the my left knee jean, thing, stupid kid. jk jk. i luv brad, he's hilarious. and for those of you who went to park view...yep...brad hemstreet, mrs. hemstreet's son. i took 4 rolls of film and am muchos excited to share them with y'all! Then us four went to 7 eleven and got slurpees, and Brad, Phil, and I head-banged all the way there, Brittany was driving, so she was head-banging impared. Then I got home late. the end. oh, and my buddy DJ is burning me the new Thursday CD, and im lookin forward to that.
so today we had another site party at this kid bryan's house, pool partay! at first we were all whacking each other with noodles until phil found this like, thing you can float on, it's made out of net but lined with like, inner tube so it floats. so he came up behind me at least 5 times cuz im so freakin slow and gullible and put it over me so i couldnt get out. it was freakin crazy. then he pushed me in twice. first when i still had my clothes on, second he just threw me in cuz i said i was tired of swimming. but at least i had my bathing suit on that time. so then we were gonna have chicken fights, but didn't get around to that. it was still fun.
well, i can't wait to hang out with y'all again!! and we HAVE to hang out lots because I have some major news: well folks, looks like im moving. Where to? Dallas. Texas. When? Before the school year starts. it's not 100% but it's way more than 50%. it'll b a miracle if i stay here. my dad had a choice between Dallas and DC and we choose Dallas, we still might have to move to DC but it'll most likley be Dallas, hopefully not DC cuz i dont like it there. So, um...u guys can visit whenever, my parents said they'd pay for plane tickets. it just was really hard to accept considering moving wasn't even on my mind, then i find out on sunday, the day after i got back. so, i thought i'd tell just you guys since ur my closest pals. just to let you know too, things might change and i may end up staying, but it will seriously be a miracle if i do, so please pray for me and that i can stay here. or that if i do move it'll b Dallas, and NOT DC. well, umm...i guess that's all for now. it's zach's bday tomorrow...i think ill call him. well, g2g. luv y'all! ::hugs:: ::tears::
