Layout
Finally, the long awaited Apolo layout. I had every intention of making this one fancier and flashier than my usual layout, but alas, we've got more of the same old boring stuff. More of the same colors too. Any more blue and I'm going to bore people to death with this website. Mnah! Oh well, some cool blues and the God of Ice will have to hold off the summer heat, then I'll try something more colorful. Besides... when you've got a face this pretty on your website, you don't need all the bells and whistles.

Moby - We Are All Made of Stars

First of all, happy birthday to Karyn! Yay! It's not til tomorrow, but I decided I should mention it while I still remembered. It's a rare occasion when I spontaneously remember a birthday. >.>; Anyway, yay!

Now for a Friday Five. Haven't done one of these in a little while.

1. What's your favorite piece of clothing that you currently own? Hmm.. I'm not sure. I guess I'd have to say either my blue and white stripped oxford shirt or my Weezer "If it's too loud, turn it down" t-shirt. Boring, ne?

2. What piece of clothing do you most want to acquire? Hmm.. I've been wanting to get one of those linen-y, gauzey peasant type shirts. I don't know why. I think I just need to pretty up my wardrobe a little bit. It's all t-shirts, button downs, and jeans.

3. What piece of clothing can you not bring yourself to get rid of? Why? I've got this ancient pair of Old Navy jeans that are about three years old and I've worn them down to nothing but patches. They're covered in holes and paint and look just horrible. I don't wear them anymore. Don't know why I haven't thrown them away.

4. What piece of clothing do you look your best in? Oh bleah... I don't know. I think I look pretty bad in anything I wear. I guess I'd say my new rugby shirt. Unlike most of my other shirts, it's small enough that you can tell I have a waist but it still covers up my flabby arms. >.>

5. What has been your biggest fashion accident? My wardrobe? >.> Seriously.. I've got a pretty bland, ugly rack of clothes. Though, a few years ago I lost my mind and bought a pair of those awful raver pants. These things were huge.. and shiny. It hurts to remember them. -_-

Bleah. I should do some shopping, or something.

Hee hee. I've seen this. It was good. It just ended WAY TOO SOON. I should hunt down the manga.

Background Noise: MTV Video Music Awards Replay

Jimmy Fallon is so fun and cute. And just to let you know... I'd never have watched this show if it weren't for him. Because... otherwise it was pretty dumb.

I got a drawing printed in MUW's literary and art magazine. Here's a horrible scan of it. I should probably calibrate my scanner or something. Bleah.

I also doodled this in Photoshop. I only post it because it's the best hair I've drawn in a long time. The rest I can take or leave. (Her lop-sided eyes bother me though...) You know... I need a tablet. If anyone's feeling generous, I'll send you my mailing address. :o

Now... I had a lot of stuff to blog about... and I can't remember any of it. Lessee.. I added Advanced Graphic Design, so now I've got a whole nineteen hours. Yay, fun.

The White Stripes just won an award... Jack White looks so cute in his white and red suit and white hat. More men need to wear suits and hats. Rrowr.

Enetation is irking me. I'd like to have comments every now and again. Sigh. Maybe it'll straighten out after a while. Otherwise I'm ditching the whole thing.

Someone should really get up and turn the tv off. Seeing this once was enough. Hmm... I think I'll close now. Enough rambling for one evening. Maybe eventually I'll remember what it was a I wanted to blog about...

Background Noise: Ayumi Hamasaki - For My Dear

Yay, I have Ayu! Sankyuu, Jen!

I also have pictures. :o Here's pictures of my dorm room, pictures of the freestyle gathering in Jackson, and me after I dyed my hair brown. Yay.

My roommate's got a Live Journal now. Woo. :o I added it to my list over there along with Drew's. Yay.

Now, down to the meat of the entry. I went to Tuscaloosa with some friends for some DDRing. There's a nice 3rd Mix Korean in the mall there. The mall itself is nice too. I spent lots of money. >.> I got the second Trigun DVD, the second volume of Love Hina manga, and some other things. That plus DDR and Soul Calibur II (I got all the way to Inferno, yay!) and The Ronald McDonald Party Caboose made for a very entertaining day. Much fun. :D

Today I slept late, went to Wal-Mart, and tried to do a little homework. >.>;

Take the Jimmy Fallon recurring SNL character quiz here.

Hee hee. Jimmy Fallon. *^_^*

Background Noise: Mr. Scruff - Cat Blues Remix

Yay! We finally got our cable working. MUW has a different cable provider so we've actually got decent channels now! We've got MTV (I like to watch the Osbournes, sue me. >.>), MTV2 (Music videos? They still have those?), Animal Planet, and Cartoon Network! ADULT SWIM! Woot. XD I don't know if we have Comedy Central, but that'd be sweet.

Jimmy Fallon has an album out! Yay! I'm-a have to check that out. Wubble Jimmy Fallon.

It's so wrong that the Power Puff Girls keep saying "Professor DICK!" *cough*

Take This Quiz!

Somewhat repressed? I'm beginning to wonder if I really am just a cold fish. >.>

Background Noise: Weezer - Blast Off!

Well, moving in was relatively painless. I had to clean a bunch of ants out of my clothes and I forgot my keyboard and mouse at home (gave me an excuse to get new ones), but other than that, it's all good. I spent Saturday hanging aorund with new people and playing DDR and other video games. (I did some more ass-whoopin' with Sophitia in Soul Calibur. )

I've gotten two days of school down. A whole lot to go. Classes are pretty nifty so far. Illustration is going to be a lot of work, but it also sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. Thankfully it's my only real studio class this semester. 20th Century Art History is going to be nifty too. Biology and Advanced Composition are going to be a lot of work an no fun, though... I have a feeling. >.> And I don't know what to think about Typography (not Topography) yet. We'll see.

My dorm room is nifty too. It's really big. Big enough that I don't mind actually having a roommate this year. Yay. Lots of room for DDR pads and stuff.

It's Jen's birthday today. Send her birthday wuv.

This is funny. So is this.

See what Care Bear you are.

If wishes were fishes.. or something like that...

Background Noise: DJ Taka - Abyss

Well, I'm all loaded up and ready to go. I know I'm forgetting something, but I won't remember what it is til I'm halfway across the state. Oh well. Happens every year. >.>; That's what care packages from home are for.

I bought Will lunch today and officially said goodbye. He gave me hugs and said he'd miss me. Almost made me all misty-eyed. Awwww. I disappointed him by not going to play DDR one last time, but it couldn't be helped. I doubt I'll be playing again until this Saturday at the big pre-semester showdown at MSU. w00t! Anyway.

I finally did find my preregistration papers... so, I'm all set. Maybe this semester won't be so bad as I feel it will. I never end up with the same classes I preregistered for anyway. >.> Here's to hoping I can drop Advanced Composition for Graphic Design III. >.>;

Eh.. guess I better go now. See you all in Columbus. :o

Background Noise: The White Stripes - You're Pretty Good Looking (For a Girl)

Well. I don't think I'll play DDR again until Saturday. I've been playing all week. My feet are killing me and I'm starting to suck. I just need to give it a rest. Even went to Jackson yesterday to play. Fun fun. It was supposed to be a freestyle gathering, but I don't freestyle. Cause I can't. So I didn't. >.>

I'm leaving to go back up to Columbus on Tuesday. Can't believe summer's already over. It went by so quickly. It was nice, though. I met some new people, maybe made one or two new friends. That's always fun. I'm kinda sad to be leaving, but there's people up there that I want to see too.

I love Something Awful. Even if they did make fun of Andrew W.K. (They do have a point, though.)

Eh. That's all I can come up with today. Sorry, folks.

Which Weezer Song are You?

How depressing. >.>;

Background Noise: No Doubt - Hella Good

I like this song... hate the title.(Cartman: Man, you guys are hella lame.)

I got to play Soul Calibur II today. It was so pretty. *_* Didn't spend a whole lot of time there, so I didn't get to play with all the characters I wanted to. I immediately gave Raphael a try, though. He looks really groovy and has some really snazzy swashbuckley type moves. He's a sekushi little musketeer. I just couldn't win with him, though. Bleah. Cassandra, on the other hand, I 0wn3d with. I was always best with her sister, so I guess it makes sense. Woo.

I also bought a bunch of other stuff, including Grand Theft Auto 3, the first Trigun DVD, Love Hina manga, and yet another Weezer t-shirt. I'm going to go broke if I keep this up. >.>

Which Izzard Are You?

Kid Izzard: You still find a way to look at life in an innocent way, even though those around you marvel at your naive opinions. But the world wasn't made just for the grown-ups around you, so dodge your subway fare and get the most out of life!

Huh.

Background Noise: Cowboy Mouth - Love of My Life

Woo. Time for another Friday Five.

1. What is your lineage? Where are your ancestors from? Eh, nothing too interesting I'm afraid. I'm just your usual Western European mutt. My mom's family is English, Scotch-Irish, and Dutch. We can trace my dad's family right back to one of the first French explorers to set foot on the Gulf Coast, though. Which is nice. So.. I guess French is the most prominent lineage I have. It's hardly a pedigree, though. >.>

2. Of those countries, which would you most like to visit? France, probably. >.> Who'd pass up a chance to see the Louvre, the Arc de Triumphe, and the Eifel Tower? Au hau hau! Oh la la, ou est mon pantaloons? Je suis le pain.

3. Which would you least like to visit? Why? Eh... I don't know. I'd love to visit any of those countries. I guess I'd say the Netherlands. *shrug*

4. Do you do anything during the year to celebrate or recognize your heritage? Eh. Not really. We're pretty much all American. We do eat a lot of cajun food, but that probably has more to do with location than lineage. We do sometimes celebrate All-Saints Day by decorating the family graves with candles and flowers and then eating lunch in the cemetary. I understand that's bigger in the Catholic regions of Europe than it is here. But... I haven't done that in years. Does it still count? >.>

5. Who were the first ancestors to move to your present country (parents, grandparents, etc)? Try great-great-great-great-great grandparents. o.O We've been here a long time. I'm trying to remember the name of that French explorer... Christian Ladner. Or one of his brothers. Or something. >.>;

In other fun, fun news... Will (who I hope doesn't mind me linking him, but I dunno if he even reads this so whatever) grabbed a Seymour Natus figure for me at the mall. Yay! He's sitting with my regular Seymour and Bahamut. Schweet.

I also got They Might Be Giants's new album, No!. It's supposed to be a kid's album (well, family album). They say its for "giant kids or small adults". So I suppose it's okay. >.> All I know is, those lullabys at the end are really effective.

My Chinese name is Liang Anli. Isn't that pretty?

What Hit Female J-Artist Song Are You?

I'm really going to have to find some Ayumi to listen to someday. And speaking of hope.. today's my last day at work. Finally... I'll get to sleep in. *^_^*

(Sheepish Edit: I just realized that I archived July as "August 2002". I'm such a moron sometimes. -_-)
