I was long over due for a change... but this is the best I could come up with. I confess, I've been lazy. Recycled HTML doesn't do Wolfwood justice. Anyway, this is my ode to my favorite Trigun character, the traveling preacher Nicholas D. Wolfwood.

Background Noise: Utada Hikaru - Simple and Clean

Yay for Jen and her J-Pop sharing. Wuv Utada Hikaru. :d

Wow. Been a while, huh? Well, I've been out of commission for a while trying to get my pen and ink drawing done. But, I stayed up til four in the morning today finishing it. I turned it in, and now I can finally start eating and sleeping like a normal person again.

I've learned two lessons from this project. You'd think they'd be lessons about procrastination and time management, but they aren't. I've learned that:

1. Lemurs probably deserve to be endangered and
2. Stippling is the tool of the devil and should be avoided at all costs. It will eat your soul and rot your brain. It probably makes you sterile too.

Anyway, back to more fun stuff. I went to Tuscaloosa this past weekend with peoples for some DDR. There's a MAX2 in the University Mall now. Woot. Jen found Frequency for cheap and, while I was convincing her to get it and save it for when she got a PS2, she decided to buy it for me as a Christmas present. ^^; It's the niftiest, coolest game EVAR!!!!1 I then bought her the first volume of Ayashi no Ceres . Whee!

Speaking of manga, I also bought a couple volumes of Mars. I've fallen in love with the series. It's so sappy and sweet. I must have more. :d Hey... if Kira can find a motorcycle racing tough guy with a heart of gold and an Asian Cat haircut, so can I. Right?

Tokyopop owns my soul. I'm already collecting three manga series. At ten bucks a pop, this isn't going to be healthy for my bank account. Ah well.

Speaking of my bank account. I went and bought Vice City. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to play much of it at all. What I have played I absolutely love. The voice acting is ubersweet (with Ray Liotta, Dennis Hopper, Burt Reynolds, and Phillip Micheal Thomas... how can it not be?), the atmosphere is amazing, and let's not get me started on the music.

Okay... I have some sleep to catch up on. Ciao.

Background Noise: dj Taka - Leading Cyber

Yay! I have AIM again. The computer guy just opened a hole in the firewall for me. Now I have to get him to do the same for IRC...

Yay! I've been given til Monday to finish my pen and ink drawing. I won't have any weekend to speak of, but at least it'll be done.

Yay! We're almost done with the restaurant design project we've been doing in graphic design. We've been messing around with it for almost two months, I think. x.x I'll be so glad to not look at it anymore.

Yay! Vice City is here in six days! But so is DDRMAX. Do I buy both? Do I wait on DDRMAX? Decisions decisions... Speaking of DDR, I think I'll play some 5th Mix tonight. "Dancing All Alone" and "The Centre of the Heart" are my new favorite songs. :d

I should go now. I've got way too much homework to do... >.>;

Which Cowboy Bebop Character Are You? I'm Julia!

Julia! Oh, if only. ^^;

Background Noise: The Distillers - Young Girl

Well. It's been an eventful few days. Well, not hugely eventful. Lately I classify any day where something actually happens as being "eventful". Anyway. I went shopping this weekend. Bad idea. :/ I finally found The Distiller's Sing Sing Death House, which is nice. I got a couple volumes of Bebop and Love Hina manga and Choke by Chuck Palahniuk. I could blow all my money in a book store...

I also bought a denim skirt that was on sale at Lane Bryant. I thought I was getting my size, but apparently I'm a size smaller now. I'm thrilled, but now I'll have to start trying stuff on. It was the only skirt like that left anyway. >.> I'll just get a belt and sinch it. Now, I'll be really thrilled if I drop another two or three sizes...

SQUIRRELS!

They put us on a proxy server here at school. I'm not happy about it at all. I can't use AIM anymore because the newest version of Macintosh AIM doesn't support HTTP proxies. I can't get on IRC because ircle doesn't have proxy settings at all. I tried Yahoo Messenger, but it goes painfully slow and just doesn't seem to be working at all. Anyway... if you need to get in touch with me try nyankorocket on Y!M in the hopes that it'll work... otherwise, there's always e-mail. LeAnna and Jen both did this quiz dealie... and seeing as I'm really very bored, I think I'll give it a shot too.

Background Noise: Shakira - Objection (Tango)

Aris-chan sent me all of Laundry Service and I have to admit, against my better judgement, I kinda like it. ^^; My favorites are "Objection (Tango)", "Underneath Your Clothes", and "Te Dejo Madrid". Sexy Latin rhytmns. Woo.

I wish I could belly dance.

Well, I didn't get Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas or Cat's Cradle. I did get Deadeye Dick, though. I'm almost through and I'm really enjoying it. I don't have that boy to call me and ask me what I think of it, though. Le sigh. It sucks to be lonely.

I might go see Red Dragon or something tonight. Haven't heard back about that. We'll see.

Tomorrow, LeAnna and I might go to Tupelo and find Jen for a little mall-crawling and Soul Calibur 2.

What I really need to do this weekend is work on my pen and ink drawing for Illustration. It's taking a painfully long time. >.>

Vice City comes out in TEN DAYS. Can you feel my joy? My Xplo-sama and I are going to Vicegasm together. Nya ha. I can't wait. XD

Background Noise: Poe - Trigger Happy Jack

Yay, it's Happy Birthday Aris-chan day! Wuv.

For me, however, the day was kind of icky. It rained all day and was really cold. And while I got to wear my pretty new coat, I still dreaded going out because it was so miserable. My feet stayed cold and wet all day.

I had a Biology exam this morning. I'm a little anxious about how I did. I've got a modern art history exam Thursday... not worried about that one at all. That's one subject I never have any trouble with.

The Spring 2002 course schedule came out. I made up my tentative schedule... I'm cramming in another 19 hours. I'll be taking photography, screen printing, 20th century art history from WWII to the present, biology 102 w/lab, western civ II, an honors seminar on Film Noir, and a Pilates exercise course. Yay. Hopefully I'll be able to get into them all. Especially the Film Noir seminar and the Pilates class.

I'd really like to do some more painting. I really enjoyed the class last spring once I got over my nervousness about it. Unfortunately I can't take it again because it conflicts with photography. :/ Maybe I can talk my way into getting some studio space. It'd be nice to just go and paint in the evening.

Speaking of unwinding. If I remember, I'm going to the library tomorrow and check out a good book. I'm going to go a little crazy if I don't find something to distract me for a while. I might go to MSU's library and see if they have a copy of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I need to see what that's all about. And maybe I'll run into some sort of cute, thoughtful, bookish boy whilst browsing the shelves. He'll be funny too. He'll see me reach for that book and will immediately begin to tell me, with great enthusiasm, how good it is. Then we'll trade numbers because he wants me to tell him what I thought of it. Of course, he doesn't wait until I'm done reading to call me. He'll ask about the stuff I'm into, and he'll be sincerely interested and intrigued. Then he'll ask me if I'd like to go see "Knockaround Guys" with him. And I'll tell him I'd love to.

Barring that, our library has a copy of Cat's Cradle I might grab. >.>;;;

Oh. I forgot to mention this weekend. Probably because I've talked about it everywhere else. Anyway, I went home and had fun with friends at the arcade and stuff. Got a sunburn at my brother's band competition. I'm kinda homesick now...

Will has bronchitis now. Poor guy. He wears himself out with too much DDRing and not enough decent food and rest. I have to admit, I'm a little worried about him. He said he was feeling better, though. So that's good. And speaking of Will, lookit the picture of him that I Photoshopped last night. And no, I'm not stalking. It was just a nifty photo I wanted to mess with. :p

Which Rocky character are you?

o.O;;

Background Noise: Mitsuhiro Oikawa - Snow Kiss

Update like crazy. What's gotten into me? Well, I wanted to do this week's Friday Five, because it's nifty.

1. If you could only choose 1 cd to ever listen to again, what would it be?
The Cowboy Bebop Future Blues O.S.T. The "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" disc specifically. It's got soooo much good stuff on it. I've been listening to it constantly since I got it. So it is pretty much the only disc I listen to.

2. If you could only choose 2 movies to watch ever again, what would they be?
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Mallrats, because Chang Chen and Jason Lee never get old. :d

3. If you could only choose 3 books to read ever again, what would they be?
Hmm... Memoirs of a Geisha, for sure. It's one of my favorite books of all time, despite the ending that I didn't like. Then I'd have to add Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's Good Omens. I've read this one about six times now and I still love it. So very smart and funny. Now... number three I have to think about. Actually, I'm going to be cheesy and say Laura Ingalls Wilder's These Happy Golden Years. It was my favorite book back when I was like... ten. The romance between Almanzo and Laura is so innocent and sweet. It makes me all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it. It's a shame people still don't go for Sunday carriage rides... (Told you I was going to be cheesy.)

4. If you could only choose 4 things to eat or drink ever again, what would they be?
Chocolate milk, my Papa's beef tips, watermelon, and chicken fajitas from my favorite Mexican restaurant.

5. If you could only choose 5 people to ever be/talk/associate whatever with again, who would they be?
Ooooh... this is hard. I'd have to say my parents and brother to begin with. That leaves me with two... augh... so hard! I don't want to leave any one out. This isn't fair. I'm going to say LeAnna.. because we've known each other since forever. And Will.. because.

Nyu. Now for something interesting. Exploding Dog has some seriously cool drawings.

What Element Are You?

Wednesday, October 9, 2002 09:50 p.m.
Background Noise: Green Leaves - Yatta

Yeah, I know. I'm a little late jumping on the Yatta! bandwagon. But that's not going to keep me from sharing the joy with those even further behind than me. Quick! Buy me this. Yatta!

Speaking of Japanese strangeness, this is just insane. It puts that Japanese game show the Simpsons were on to shame. And not missing a beat, Love Hotels.

It's so easy! Happy-go-lucky!

I should start reading Scary-go-Round. Cause I miss Bobbins.

I want to make a webcomic, but I can't draw well enough or consistantly enough. And I can' write. And I'm lazy. Nya.

YATTA!

Yay! My favorite element too. :o

First things first... Happy Birthday, Kit Kat! Yay!

Now, for a little Friday Five. :o

1. What size shoe do you wear?
Usually a women's 9.

2. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Hmm.. about ten, I think. I only wear about four or five pairs though. >.>

3. What type of shoe do you prefer (boots, sneakers, pumps, etc.)?
Usually I prefer sandals. I'm happiest when I'm barefoot, so I guess sandals are the next best thing. I wear sneakers more often though. They're a bit more practical.

4. Describe your favorite pair of shoes. Why are they your favorite?
Eh. I dunno. I hate all of my shoes. I guess my favorites are a pair of brown leather mules. I don't get a chance to wear them much because they're a little dressy.. and I'm not usually dressy. ^^; I'm trying to fix that, though.

What's the most you've spent on one pair of shoes?
Well, I try not to ever spend a lot.. so I don't remember. I've spent $50+ on sneakers before. I do want a pair of Doc Martens one day...

Speaking of spending a lot of money, I went on a little shopping spree today. I got a nifty kahki colored peacoat on sale at Old Navy. It's really nice. Can't wait for the weather to get cold. I also bought a pretty button-down shirt. It's got kind a kind of old-fashioned print with stripes and little blue flowers. Then at Wal-Mart I bought a new cd player and another cd wallet.

I had to buy the wallet because I got a package today from Lauren that pushed my CD-R anime collection to overflowing. :o She sent me lots and lots of Inu-Yasha, X, DiGi Charat, Chobits, Yami no Matsuei, Ebichu, and various mp3s and bits and pieces. *_* Much wuv for Lauren.

I watched Ebichu (this is *not* Hamtarou o.o) and some DiGi Charat (toooooooo cute, nyu!). I'm going to finish Noir before I get into the other series, though. ^^;

Which CowBoy BeBop Session Are You?

Hee hee. Yay. "C'mon, Zeros..."

Thursday, October 3, 2002 10:54 p.m.
Background Noise: DJ Taka - V

Nya.. this week is almost over. I honestly don't know what happened. It just flew by. o.O As a matter of fact, so did the entire month of September. A whole heck of a lot happened this month... but it seems like it happened so quickly. My head is spinning. x.X

Good news, I'm not sick anymore. :o Well, mostly. I'm still kinda congested and my throat's a little itchy, but I'm sure it'll be gone by the weekend. Woo. More good news, I finally got my car. It's a white 92 Nissan Stanza. Yay.

I took one of them there personality tests. Apparently I'm an INFP. This description is pretty accurate, I think. This bit too. Psychology type stuff is neat. :p

Look! It's Nightcrawler! Alan Cumming makes such a cute fuzzy elf. (Though, he doesn't look fuzzy at all.. wassup with that?) I can't wait for the new X-Men movie.

Nya ha! The Simpsons are pushing Japanese lemon drinks. Crazy. More western stars in Japanese commercials.
