Background Noise: Rivers Cuomo - The End of the World

Well, maybe I can make more than two entries this month. Gimmie a break. February's a short month!

Anyway, this entry is just to show off the pretty new layout that my Aris-chan made for me. Much, much wuv. He also sent me Rivers mp3s. Rivers singing "The End of the World"... cute. :o So much wuv.

Why aren't nerds popular? I found this link through Kung Fool!. It's pretty interesting. His theories make sense to me, anyway. But what about the unpopular kids who weren't all that smart or weren't rebels? What about the kids who were just plain weird? >.> I guess that answers my own question. ^^;

Speaking of Kung Fool!, if Mi Sung gives up and buys a PC, I'll be so disappointed. She is my alter ego, after all. :D

Ooh. Look. A Friday Five. 1. What is your favorite type of literature to read (magazine, newspaper, novels, nonfiction, poetry, etc.)?
Usually novels or magazines. I get lazy sometimes and stop reading real books and I'm happy to sit down with a copy of Rolling Stone or Spin. When I've got a lot going on, I like my literature in short spurts with lots of glossy photos.

2. What is your favorite novel?
That's really hard to say. For the longest time, my favorite book was Catcher in the Rye. Now my favorites include Memoirs of a Geisha by some guy whose name I forget and Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk.

3. Do you have a favorite poem? (Share it!)
Feh... I don't know. I was never much for poetry, really. I do like that one T.S. Eliot poem.
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

Heavy.

4. What is one thing you've always wanted to read, or wish you had more time to read?
Geez.. there's a ton of stuff I want to read but haven't. I need to read The Lord of the Rings and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I hate having only seen the movies. >.> I also wish I had read the Narnia series... and there's a lot of Kurt Vonnegut books I want to read.

5. What are you currently reading?
Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. I devored it the first time I read it, but now it's just dragging on forever. :/

A classmate told me today that I remind her of the movie Ghost World. My attitude toward life is reminicent of that movie in general. I didn't know what to think, but she said it was a good thing. I'd never sleep with Steve Bucemi, though. >.>

Background Noise: Billy Idol - Rebel Yell You know you're having problems when you don't feel cool enough to hang around geeks.

I've been so neglectful of my blogging lately. I've been neglectful of a lot of things. For instance, I should be reading my western civ text book. We're having a quiz tomorrow. Pfft. Spring break is in just another week. Which is good. I want to go home really badly.

My old computer applications and keyboarding teacher wants me to go talk to her desktop publishing class about graphic design and getting a graphic design degree. Bleah. I don't know what to say to a bunch of high school kids.

Hee hee. I just got Aris-chan to make me a new blog layout. And I'm being picky about it. >.> I know this has to be getting on his nerves. Eh heh... ^^;

You know, I can't remember anything that's happened to me lately. I really do need to blog more. I suck. :/

I do have one big bit of news. One of the pieces I did for Illustration last semester, my pen and ink drawing of a ring tailed lemur (I'm sure I bitched about it somewhere on here...), got accepted to the Mississippi Collegiate Art Show. Which is like.. yay. :D It's this big judged art show thing. Art students all over the state enter works and mine actually got accepted. Yay. The show is March 22nd. They give out awards there and everything. So.. yeah. Yay. >.>

And... my head hurts. So I'm done.

Background Noise: FInal Fantasy 9 - Melodies of Life

Long time no see.

Well. I finally saw The Two Towers. I watched a bootleg VCD copy last night with some friends. Good good movie. Not entirely true to the books, though... at least that's what I've been told. I should break down and read them. >.>

These things are like... the internet Flash game equivilent to an hour in one of those relaxation chambers. They're so.. pastel... and cute... and sweet. And the music makes me sleepy. But in a good way. Panda Run is my favorite.

I just beat Final Fantasy 9. Yay woo. :o I've been at the end of the game for a long time now, I've just finally sat myself down and made myself finish. Is it just me or is the ending really long? At least it's a happy one. :o Can't say I like "Melodies of Life", though. It's no "Suteki Da Ne", that's for sure. I think Tomorrow I'll get started on Final Fantasy 8.

See.. I know I'm a lazy, fat sloth... but the seriousness of the situation never hit home until Ash (You know... Army of Darkness.) told me exactly what the problem is. Yeah yeah.. Mr. Campbell is a bit more well spoken than Ash... but all I can think is "Klaatu, Verrata, Ni-e..*coughcoughcough*" Heh heh.

Lately I've been having strange dreams. Dreams in which... I buy fish. It's become something of an obsession. It's now my goal in life to obtain a fish bowl with a pretty fish. His name will be Copernicus. If I had a boy of my own, that's what I would have wanted him to get me for Valentine's Day.

Speaking of Valentine's Day... it usually doesn't bother me all that much, but this year I was bitter and surly. I guess I'm with Percy on this one.

Before I go, a little hobbitishness.

no i have to do sam
Do I even need to say Pervy Hobbit Fancier? XD

What Lord of the Rings engrish subtitle are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

Anyway. I'm out.

Hail to the king, baby. :p
