Layout: Not a whole lot different than Barbed Wire, just more color. I put this together once I finished playing FFX. Tidus is my new favorite Final Fantasy Character. I love this picture of him, very comic bookish. The background with Luca's blitz stadium just seemed appropriate, given the version title.

Background Noise: Initial D - Space Boy

Well, the Olympics are officially over. *le sigh* I suppose it's time for me to get back to focusing on worthwhile things... like school. But what fun is that? And while I'm on the subject... I'm not doing very well at being an obsessive fangirl. I've missed two Apolo interviews already. Oh well. I need to get over it anyway. ^.^;

I skipped my first class today. I just didn't feel like getting up. How lazy is that? I need to find m drive again. I'm slowly slipping into another pattern of boredom and apathy. x.x I still haven't cleaned this room of mine, and I've negelcted my sketchbook (which is due tomorrow, whee.) Spring Break isn't too far away... maybe that'll reengergize me.

I should go get ready for my last class... blah.

Background Noise: L'arc~en~Ciel - Honey

Well... that was so disappointing. No more medals for Apolo. He did get a gold and silver though, in two of the most exciting races I have ever seen. And he accepted his DQ in the 500m semifinal and the US loss in the relay with a lot of graciousness. Say what you want, but I think he's a really nice guy. :p

I'm also disappointed that the Olympics are over. I was just starting to get into them. It'll probably be a whole four years til we see Apolo again and four years til we see all those cool winter games. In four years, I'll probably have gotten way over my Apolo obsession anyway. It was nice while it lasted, anyway. ^_^;

On a happier note, my skating wound is healing nicely, and I am Kurt Wagner.

What X-Men Character are You?

You gotta love Nightcrawler.

Background Noise: Figure Skating Gala Thing

I think there should be a speed skating gala.

I just got back from roller skating. I can't skate at all. I fell twice. Right on my bum. The second time I ended up cutting my wrist on my bracelet. So, obviously, I am one with Apolo. No, it wasn't my thigh... and I don't need stitches, but I think it still counts.

Speaking of Apolo, and aren't I always? I found this fun bit of Anti-Apolo/Anti-American propoganda. I have to admit, the little cartoon Apolo is kind of cute, and the bad English is reminicent enough of "all your base" to be endearing. Watch for the wonderful dramatic scene between Uncle Sam and Hollywood Film Director. Good stuff. *snickers*

Tomorrow is Apolo's last races. I'm so sad. ;.; I don't know if we'll see a whole lot of him once the Olympic hype dies down. I'll just have to hang on to my 2002 Apolo tape until 2006. And I just heard on the tv that Apolo's going to be on Leno on Tuesday. w00t!

Well... I'm tired. I've yammered enough about Apolo... so.. g'night. ^^;

Background Noise: Local News

My heart is still pounding... that 1500m short track final nearly killed me. But... Apolo's a gold medalist. *_* I was happy with silver... but when they announced Kim Dong-Sung (did I get that right?) was disqualified... I just completely spazzed. I was dancing and jumping around. I'm going to have to watch the race again on my tape because I've been so spazzy, I missed a lot of it.

I love this sport. Seriously... I hope I don't have to wait til 2006 to see more of it. And more of Apolo. Two medals and two more to go... I certainly hope they plaster his face all over everything they can.

I have to admit... I'm very disappointed in the way he won. I have no doubt that the disqualification was legit and Apolo deserves this gold, but I know this is going to cause some controversy. Apolo doesn't exactly have a squeaky clean past. If he keeps up the controversial races... no telling what people will start saying about him. ;_;

Well, you know me... he's my Apolo and he can do no wrong in my eyes. ^_^;; Here's to hoping for some flawless victories on Saturday night. Go Apolo. Now, how many more e-mails am I going to get from irate Koreans?

There's always the Apolo fangirls to turn to. And there's millions of them.Lauren (who was dying with me after the race) made me a little badge over there to make it official. A boy hasn't made me this lovesick since I was 14... I'm so silly. ^_^;;

Doesn't this make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

Background Noise: George Baker - Little Green Bag

Yeah, I'm watching the Olympics, but I've got it on mute during the commercials so I can listen to my new mp3s. ^_^; Besides it's only figure skating. Apolo skates again tomorrow though, and I have a brand new blank tape (and a working VCR, w00t!) waiting for it.

*sigh* Tim is right. I'm a spazzy fangirl. Oh well. I yam what I yam. >.>

What I should be doing is homework. I've got to mount a dozen more graphic design projects for Wednesday. I just tired of measuring and cutting and stuff. Bleah.

I'm tired. But not evil... check it.

Check it out, man! How evil are you?

I'm so cute. *sparklesparkle*

Background Noise: Kyliee - Can't Get You Out of My Head

Ho-lee cow. That had to have been the most exciting sporting event I've ever seen. Ever. *_* I was jumping from one foot to the other in front of my tv as Ohno crept up to the lead... and they were so close to the finish line.. and he was leading and I was getting ready to pass out.. and they all fell. And then the really impressive part, Apolo is still scrambling for the finish and gets silver. And a huge gash in his leg. I can't say that I'm disappointed. He sure wasn't.

What did disappoint me is my VCR has gone goofy and won't let me record anything. I was so disappointed that I wouldn't get to watch it again. I was going to tape all of his races and appearances.. *weeps bitterly*

In other news.. I've neglected my homework this weekend. I'm supposed to be getting some of my arty stuff in order so for my Sophomore review on Thursday. They're going to look at my stuff and let me know if I'm good enough to get that BFA I'm after. So.. I think I'm going to go start mounting my graphic design stuff and make it presentable.

Mmmmm... doughnut...

Background Noise: Weezer - El Scorcho

w00t. I just got back from the mall. I spent way too much money. I got a cute Weezer t-shirt and the Lo action figure. I'll have to get the other three Crouching Tiger figures. >.> I don't need either of these things, but I did so want them. Lo's sitting on the shelf over my computer. Now I can gaze up lovingly at my desert tiger. Rrrrowr.

How sad is that? And speaking of sad...

Ohno's first medal race is tonight. I'm so giddy and excited. I never get excited over a sport. I do believe there is something wrong with me. >.>;; Seriously. Damn Olympics.

Anyway, I have homework to do. So I'm going to go now and leave you, not with a quiz, but with a pretty picture.

Woooosh!

Background Noise: Speed Skating - Men's 5000m Relay Semi-Finals

You know, if I were ten or fifteen years older, I'd be all about some Bob Costas. *cough*

As it is, I'll stick to being an Apolo Anton Ohno fangirl. Speaking of... he just kicked ass in that relay. I'm not much of a sports person, but I like the Olympics. I have a tendency to get all fangirlish over a certain athlete. This past summer Olympics it was Gary Hall, Jr.

I should have taken up speed skating as a child. (As we all know, there are a million opportunities for a child to take up speed skating in rural Southern Mississippi.) It's such and exciting and graceful sport. It's just so cool how they lean into those turns and their hands glide along the ice.. *_*

I'm such a groupie. >.>;;;

Well, I do believe I'm going to pay a little more attention to the Olympics now, so here's an odd little quiz.

Mmm. Han Solo. *hargle*

Background Noise: Noir - Le Grand Retour

First of all, Lauren 0wnz m3. She send me mad present wuv. I got Final Fantasy 8 (*_*), Haunted Junction two DVD set (WAI!), a PS2 DVD remote (very l33t), copies of the HJ OST and the Sailor Moon Memorial Song Box, and some Pocky (*hargle*), YanYan, and Kisses (*^_^*)! I'm giddy. :D

If you aren't giddy too, here's something to help. Pong: The Movie. Chock full of action, adventure, and romance. Not to mention kick ass sound effects. I found this link at Penny Arcade, which you should also check out because today's strip is so completely wrong. OMG!!!111 LOL!!!!@

Okay. I'm ending this uninformative, yet link-tastic entry with Le Quiz du Jour. Il est fromage! Sacrebleu! J'accuse! *cough*

*Take This Test!*

Quel fromage? Quel fromage! C'est si bon!

Background Noise: DDR - Butterfly

This weekend has been pretty bleah. I've slept most of it away. When I have been awake I've just spent it playing FF9, doing homework, and Photoshop stuff. I do have an excuse for my lethargy, though. I guess. I've had heartburn all weekend. x.x

Here's an interesting story I found via RPG World. I have to agree with Ian when he says "Boy, it's a good thing I never had any respect for the band Limp Bizkit..."

And because I'm tired and have nothing else to talk about... I'll end this with an appropriate Quiz du Jour...

Take The Mu$ic Biz Whore Test

I have no idea who Kelis is... >.>

Background Noise: System of a Down - Peephole

I'm wearing my brown cordouroys. You can hear me coming a mile away.

I just wasted a couple of hours playing Neopets and I'll probably go back in a little while. That Snowager is going to be asleep in a few minutes. Maybe I'll get another Negg.

I was talking to my dad today and he mentioned car shopping. Apparently I might be getting a car this summer. He said that he and my mom would even pay the notes til I got out of school. So, I'm all "woo!" and stuff. I don't know what kind of car I want, though. I never really thought about it seriously. I'd either want a lima bean green VW Beetle or an Akio Car-ish red Sebring convertable... or a big ol' Cadillac... white with a red interior. Tres pimpin'. But that's hardly practical at the moment... I just need something small and affordable. Guess I'll have to think about that.

My neopet is calling, so I'm going to leave you with Le Quiz du Jour, ganked from Neko-kun.

Were you a gifted child?
Your Score: 60%

Woot. I'm so smart. I actually was in the gifted program in elementary and jr. high. I've spent most of my life being known as "the smart girl". >.>;

Background Noise: Dean Martin - In Napoli

So Aris-chan started a game of Blog HotSeat. 'Twas fun, but we didn't get very far. There was this interesting tidbit, though...

kupek: Annie: Who in the group is most likely to show up in your dreams tonight?
NyankoRocket: Actually... I'd probably have to say Aris-chan. All of my dreams are set in incredibly strange rooms... much like our mansion. >.>;;;

I have to note that I've never actually dreamt of Aris... he just seemed like the most likely candidate. >.>

It's cold and rainy and miserable here. It did sleet a whole lot yesterday evening, which was interesting. It's nice to get a change of precipitation every now and again.

I got a package from my parents today. Valentine's goodies and paint. I'm getting sick of looking at my painting. *sigh* My painting teacher loaned me one of his books yesterday. It has a bunch of neat painters in it, Wayne Thiebaud included. I'll have scan some of the pictures to keep.

Let's keep in a melodramatic artsy vein with Le Quiz du Jour, oui?

Which Gackt are you most like?
quiz by mcvarmazi

I've never seen this video... but I can tell that it's more me than some of the other, more costume-oriented Gackts. >.>

Background Noise: Tenacious D - Wonderboy

I'm tired. I want to go to sleep, but I've got another class in an hour. Painting class. Mnah. My dad made a palette for me. He sanded it and stained it and polyura-howeveryouspellit-ed it. It's too pretty to put paint on. ^^;; Anyway, I think I might actually be getting somewhere with the painting I'm working on. My teacher told me to look up Wayne Thiebaud and I really like his stuff. My painting was already leaning toward his style, but now I think I'll push it even further. So imagine a gigantic cactus done in the style of those cakes... only not as good. >.>

In other new, my graphic design teacher seemed really impressed with a set of logos I did. I personally didn't think they were anything special, but he called them "smart". Oh, and Xplo-sama said he liked the design for my blog. Damn. I'm on a roll.

Well... I'm-a go get myself together for class. You stay here with today's quiz.

Which John Cusack Are You?

Heh. I love John Cusack and I love this movie. I don't see myself as much of a Rob Gordon, but hey... if I get to hang out with Jack Black, it's all good.

Background Noise: The Superbowl

Say bai bai to Hyde (for now) and hello to Tidus! I'm officially christening my new layout, which I think turned out pretty well, even if it isn't earthshakingly different from the old one. It's got lots o' color (well, lots of blue). I was getting a little tired of the old greyscale blog.

I've also changed the name to Cat Scratches, which is a bit more appropriate, I think. Sorry to everyone who has to change links and stuff. I'll be sticking with this one. Promise. ^_^ I've also fixed links on the side there and even updated my desktop picture.

In real news, I've finished FFX, hence the little homage here. It was a beautiful ending and I cried and cried. ;.; I started FF9, which I am also enjoying. Of course, it isn't as uberbeautiful as FFX was but it's still pretty. I love the cute characters and the fairytale like setting. The music is awesome too. My only beef is the ATB battles. I've been spoiled by FFX's battle system. ^^; I'll get over it, though.

No quizzes or links or anything today. Just yummy Tidus goodness. Enjoie, mes amis!

Friday, February 1, 2002 01:52 p.m.
Background Noise: System of a Down - Atwa

Now, I'm long overdue for a blog layout change. I'm trying to decide between a nice sparkly, colorful Tidus layout or a groovy Spike Spiegel layout. I'm leaning more towards Tidus at the moment. I'm also considering changing my blog's name. I'm no longer updating my OD, so I think I want to use its title, "Cat Scratches". I think it'd at least be more fitting to my personality. I'm more kitty than I am barbed wire. >.>

I'm looking forward this weekend to doing nothing. I was busy and sick for the past two weekends. I need a break. x.x I think I'll spend my time working on my sketchbooks, finishing FFX, and working on some pictures I had promised people.

The Quiz du Jour is via Jen again. She is quiz l33t.

Which Carbonated Beverage Are You?

I honestly don't know what to say about that. >.>;;;
