I found out today that a girl I knew in high school is on life support. She had a brain aneurism. She graduated a year ahead of me, but we were in the band together for three years. Apparently her parents are thinking of taking her off life support.

She was one of those people in high school that tried too hard to be cool and too hard to fit in and just ended up annoying everyone. People made fun of her all the time. Even her own sister was horrible to her, mostly in order to disassociate herself with someone so "uncool." I just hope their relationship was better than it seemed on the surface. She was always genuinely nice and friendly with me. I didn't pick on her, but I hardly stood up for her either.

I don't know where she went or what she did after she graduated, but I hope she met better people than she had around her in high school. It's no lie that kids are cruel. And it's a shame that not all of them grow out of that mindset.

Anyway... on a lighter note, I'm done with my print and I'm done with my film noir and pilates classes. The school year is winding down pretty quickly. I'm tired of schoolwork and I get a little homesick... but at the same time I don't want to leave yet. Feh. :/

Background Noise: Clutch - Red Horse Rainbows

Note to self: bum more Clutch from Daniel. Ho ho.

Why am I posting at 2:30 on a Tuesday morning? Well, I just finished my research paper for my honors seminar. Who's yo' daddy? Er... mama. Or something. Anyway. I'm a happy person now. Just thought I'd let everyone share they joy.

When you guys wake up, anyway.

Tomorrow I've got to finish up a print. Then I'm in the clear for a little while til finals. Yay. I suppose I'll have to start packing up all the junk in this room. I don't even want to think about that right now. Ick. I really hate this whole moving every year thing. Hopefully I'll only have to do it once more. Hopefully. :/

For those of you planning weddings, let's not do this. Actually. I've got faith in your tastes... but it's still an interesting link. Luckily the only bride's maid dress I've ever had to wear was actually pretty. Not many other places I could wear it... but it was pretty.

It was very pink too.

What to do? Oh, what to do?

Background Noise: R. Kelly - Ignition

So, I got a call from Will this morning... and he expressed his sincere disappointment in my lack of updating. I'd hate to keep the poor boy on the edge of his seat, so here it is. My MASSIVE "Week in Review."

Yay.

Okay. Starting with last weekend. I was... home. Yes. I was home. I went with Will and LeAnna Friday night to the Grand. I mostly played Soul Calibur II. I'm absolute crap with Cassandra these days. I usually have to play her several times before I get the knack again. I whipped up on some guy with Ivy. I love doing that. Rrrrar! Then I started myself a Taki character in Conquest. Her name is Shiori. I've never really played Taki seriously before. She's fun. And fast. (And bouncy... o.O) Anyway. I played only one game of DDR. Mebbe my interest will be piqued again when Extreme is back. Who knows. Then we went and ate at Chili's, Will humped my car, and I went home.

Saturday I went and say Anger Management with my folks and then watched Trading Spaces with my mom all night. Rrrar again! I love that show. I'm going to be just like Gen when I grow up. :D

Sunday was the Easter thing. Went to church and got the Roger Rabbit DVD from the Easter Bunny (Yay!). We actually had Easter dinner at our house. Just the four of us. It was very odd. All of our holiday dinners are always at my grandparents' house and there's usually no less than ten people (and often times many more). But it was nice. Mmm. Deviled eggs. *hargle* Then I packed up my stuff, Will came by to visit for a few minutes, then I left back for school. That drive sucks.

Monday was the start of a very busy, very strange week. I had a screenprinting project due Friday morning at 8:00, so I had to bust my butt all week to try and finish. Monday I put down the last of the colors on the first half and decided to finish with the outline on Tuesday.

Tuesday I fought with inkjet transparencies (which took the last of my money) all day and played footsie. Heh heh. XD

Wednesday I finally got my outline done in class. Then I spent the evening in the printmaking room trying to get my second print underway and met many more problems. Mainly a dirty screen, and watersoluble film that wasn't being very watersoluble. Grr. I was there til after 9:00. I would have stayed longer but I had a biology exam that I needed to cram for. So I left, did a little studying and then went to the coffee shop to watch Trigun and Inu Yasha with Daniel, Allakie, and LeAnna. Bryan enjoys the end theme of Inu Yasha. XD Then I studied some more and went to sleep.

Thursday was a very, very wet day. It poured all day and you had to wade everywhere. I did not so good on my biology exam, but I've done well on the other ones... so it's not so bad. I had a couple more classes that day.. did my thing.. then I went back to printing. I printed til.. I forget what time it was. I stopped when Bryan's band performed at the battle of the bands in Poindexter. Only half his band was there, but they still put on a really good show. After that Daniel and I ran through the pouring rain to get my printing stuff and put it in my car. We were both drenched by the time we got in my car. It wasn't pretty. Then we watched Trigun and Inu Yasha... and I went back to my room and wrote and essay on Gorbachev for Civ class. Not my best essay... but I was exhausted by the time I got to bed around 3:30 AM. x.x

Friday I woke up and went to screenprinting for the project critique and was relieved to see I wasn't the only one not finished. >.> I realized I was doing a project that was far, far more complex than it needed to be. Oh well. I had some major heartburn all morning. I was ready to keel over whenever I'd move. It got better after lunch. I just had a few roasted potatoes. I whiled away most of the afternoon doing nothing productive, but my stress level was greatly reduced. I felt much, much better. Around 6:00, Daniel and I got a little lost looking for Mr. Gibson's house, but we eventually found it. Thanks to Mr. Feeney. We got there and had a good time at the art department party. Mr. Gibson has an awesome old house. He gave us a tour and told us some ghost stories and then he goosed Brad. We watched a squirrel he had trapped defend it's stick and Oreos were thrown. Art people are a wild and crazy bunch. Woo-hoo. Then we met Bryan, Tim, LeAnna and Jacqui at Little Tokyo for sushi. Mmmm. :d Daniel bought me a crunch roll and we shared a California roll. He tried to steal my crunchies. Then we fought over a shrimp. I thought I was going to have to drag the boy outside...

And... now it's Saturday. I woke up relatively early and went to Blockbuster to get Sunset Boulevard so I could get some more notes before I write my big research paper that's due Tuesday. I also ended up getting the Sailor Moon SuperS movie. I'm going to make LeAnna and Daniel watch it with me.

Tsuki ni kawatte... oshiokiyo!

Okay. I think that'll do. Hope you're happy, Will. I do realize I need to update more. When I wait so long I just remember my schedule... I don't remember any interesting impressions or feelings that make these things worth reading.

So.. I'll leave you now. But first, four Korean guys and their own video for an R. Kelly song. Peace out, yo.

Monday, April 14, 2003 11:59 p.m.
I flopped on my bed at around 6:20 and slept til 8:45. I'm thinking that I probably should have just stayed in bed til tomorrow. But, no. I valiantly crawled out of bed and proceeded to play an addicting flash game. Then I decided I should do some blogging.

First things first. Never ever be my roommate. I've only ever had two and before a year was up, they both managed to injure their ankle. LeAnna, graceful as she is, fell in a hole and screwed her ankle up. It's all purple and stuff. I feel sorry for any guy who might decide he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. He'll be in a wheelchair before our tenth anniversary.

Otherwise, it was an enjoyable weekend. Didn't have too much school work to worry about. Just kinda... chilled. Slept way too late, though. I set my alarm, but it doesn't do any good. I'm going to have to get an early-riser to call me and nag me out of bed. It'll probably be even more effective if they can do a decent impression of my mother. "This is the last time I'm telling you! Get up!"

We missed out on a trip to Tupelo with Drew and mebbe Lisa, which really sucks. :/ We'll have to try again after Easter. Even if we don't get to Tupelo we need to hang out some more before they both graduate and leave. ;.; It sucks to make new friends and have them disappear on you so quickly. :/

I rented Guilty Gear X2 again. We had something of a little marathon in the coffee shop last night. 'Twas fun. Ed would be pleased to note that I used Dizzy more often than any other character. *nod* Other people seemed to get annoyed at her constant reappearance, but what do they know? Philistines. PHILISTINES!

Will, I love those inventive, tactful ways you have of saying "No fat chicks." I'm being totally sincere. You're a swell kid. ^_-

You know, I'm still pretty much a fence sitter when it comes to the whole war thing. However, I'm very sure of one thing. The United States military must do all it can to prevent bad interior decorating. I mean, seriously. Do we want our children to grow up in a world where deep pile shag is still allowed to exist?

Also in war news, via I Love Bacon -
News reports have filtered out early this morning that US forces have swooped on an Iraqi Primary School and detained teacher Mohammed Al-Hazar. Sources indicate that, when arrested, Al-Hazar was in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a set square and a calculator.

US President George W Bush argued that this was clear and overwhelming evidence that Iraq did indeed possess weapons of math instruction.

Hee. XD

Alrighty then. It's past my bedtime. Later, people.

Daniel says I don't up date enough. So here. Are you happy now? ARE YOU? ARE YOU FINALLY HAPPY?

*cough*

Anyway. Word up, my peeps. Petey Pablo did a concert on campus tonight. I hadn't heard of him. His big hit is some song about taking of your shirt and twriling it around like a helicopter. So, you can imagine how the show went. He didn't show up for like.. an hour and a half. Then he did his thing for about 20 minutes. Woo. Apparently he got paid $10,000 for that. -.-

It sucked. This, however, does not. BREAK DANCING TEDDY BEAR LIEK WHUT!

There was a wolf at the concert. Some guy had a wolf! On a leash! It was pretty awesome. It acted like a big puppy. We were petting it and stuff. It jumped on me... and I got all sniffly. Guess I'm allergic to cats, dogs, and wolves too. Still, 'twas neat. I patted a wolf. :D

Speaking of wolves (AH HA HA HA HA!), my "cool ass friend" has told me I must pimp The Lords of the Rhymes. (Wow. It's all about the hip-hop tonight, yo.)

I love Ian McConville. I really do.

I have a massive headache. I'm afraid I may have to forego the Huddle House tonight and get some sleep. Speaking of sleep (I AM THE SEGUE QUEEN), I slept all day yesterday. I took a two and a half hour nap before dinner, and slept another two hours after. Then I got a shower, studied for a test, watched tv... and crawled back in bed! It was pleasant. Drowsily pleasant.

Okay, so I'm all about some Japanese prints and these are cool. They actually feature Westerners. I think it's the first time I've ever seen a Westerner in a Japanese print. Kookiness.

I'm sure you've noticed the anime smilies I have a tendency to use. ^_^ Cause I'm a big ol' geek like that. o_o Anyway, Here's an explination for those of you who can't read my internet emotions.

Okay. I'm seriously out of things to post or say. I'm out. Keep it real. NORTH CAR-O-LINA!

Background Noise: The White Stripes - The Air Near My Fingers

So yeah. The birthday was good. Somewhat anti-climactic, but still good. Thank you for all the birthday wishes and what not.

I've been very lazy this weekend. I've got a presentation to do on Tuesday for my honors seminar, but I've got no clue what to talk about. I'll have to put a lot of work in between now and Tuesday afternoon, I guess. I'll be glad when it's over, though. I can relax for a little while before I start worrying about the research paper. >.>

I have The White Stripes' new album "Elephant." It's pretty tasty and growing on me even more. They sound pretty much the same. Meg does some singing, she's got a girly voice but her song still manages to sound eerie. There's a little bass thrown in at times, which is different. But nice. And the last song, "Well It's True That We Love One Another" is kooky and very cute.

I don't know what it is about The White Stripes that I like so much. Neither of them are terribly great singers or technically skilled musicians. They just make this sound that I really, really like. Go figure.

And you know, if they want me to believe they're brother and sister, then that's what they are. They're my Carpenters. *nod*

Okay. I'm going to go do... something. More later. :p

Background Noise: Elvis Costello - Mystery Dance

So yeah. I've been twenty-one years old for a little while now. Honestly it doesn't feel much different from twenty. Of course, now I can go to the buffet at the Grand Casino without having to wear the paper bracelet. I'm so sophisticated.

I can also buy beer for high school kids. I'll be the coolest old chick ever.

Heh heh.

But seriously folks, I would never do that. I'm a good person. Really.

Anyway. What's up. It's been really cold up here lately. Well. Not REALLY cold. But a lot colder than it had been. It'll start warming up tomorrow, though. I hope so. Because I bought this cute new blouse on sale (my birthday gift to myself) and I'd like to wear it... but it's definately for warmer weather.

I've been feeling lazy the past couple of days. I haven't had any major pressing assignments due, but I know there's stuff I can be working on (a Film Noir presentation, a Civ paper, a drawing for screenprinting). I just choose not to think about it right now. I think I'll give myself a couple of worry free days for my birthday too. My stomach gets all knotted up at the thought of thinking about the things that make me anxious. Speaking of, my stomach's been awful to me as of late. From now on I'm just eating sandwiches and water. If that doesn't make my tummy chill out, I'm having it removed.

It'd solve more than one of my problems. -_-

Now, on to happier things. What I want to do for my birthday (me me me me me me me)... I want to go to eat Japanese with people. I really want some yaki udon, a crunch roll, and some red bean ice cream. I want to get things in the mail. I love getting mail. Packages, cards, letters... it's fun. I want to skip Biology, which shall happen tomorrow. I want to get one of those giant Care Bears... Wish Bear or Funshine, specifically.

Will said he'd try and visit this weekend if he could get Friday off. But his weekend schedule might change. So that's out. And apparently there are much more exciting things going down on at home on his regular days off. Pfft. And speaking of home, the Grand Arcade has DDRExtreme now, which I'm sure I'll enjoy next time I'm home... but honestly, I'm not chomping at the bit to get down there and play. I'm more than content to play home versions to get my DDR fix these days. *shrug*

Something bit my finger and the itching is about to drive me up the wall. Nya! And now I'm going to bed. Night.
