Yay. Pretty much every WK list I'm subscribed to is going haywire about the new WK designs. In the last two days, I've had close to 200 emails just dealing with the subject, and while I can agree with some of the things people are saying, I don't get the fuss. Of course, I will have a hissyfit if they do something to Far...but then again, I have no problem ignoring cannon. Hell, I've been in SWEPI. We ignored a main character's death there. Qui-Gon? Dead? Are we talking about the same person? And while I agree it's, psychologically, a big jump from the old series to the Glühen stuff...give me a good reason, and I'll buy it. I think the shock value has passed for me.
Read a rant about Tsuchiya Kyoko on Leah's blog. *tilts head one way* Understandable arguments, especially concerning the split in the fandom that's most likely going to happen. Then again, I also understand Kyoko. *tilts head the other way* I know I'd be pretty pissed if I designed characters for something, and they didn't even pay me my royalties then. Fact is, Project WK did make money with the old series, and I don't think Kyoko was asking for a fortune. As far as I'm informed, mangaka earn a pretty meager amount of money unless the series is a big hit. Fact also is, if I look at Kyoko's character designs and then at the seiyuus' outfit and appearance, it's clear where their inspiration comes from. I could be wrong, but I suppose they started wearing their hair/clothing that way after Kyoko designed the characters, and although it's a pretty much open secret in the fandom, she didn't get royalties for that either. Ah well, can't really say I care. Like I said - I'm perfectly capable of ignoring ongoing cannon. And as long as people start labeling their stories "Pre-Glühen" or something like that, I don't think there will really be that much of a rift in the fandom.

So langsam reicht es mir. So langsam verliere ich die Geduld. Zwei Zentimeter vom Wahnsinn entfernt und Mordlust, als auch das Gefühl, das fünfte Rad am Wagen zu sein. Just heard Schwarz's dubbed voices on the second WK DVD. Gawd. And I thought Aya sounds like a crackwhore. While I can live with Far and Nagi's voices, Crawford and Schu are just...ugh. Words fail me, those voices defy description. Maybe I'm just being pitpicky, but especially Schu sounds awful. Trailer camp tornado bait white trash. And Crawford...eager kiss-ass uptown lawyer or something. I'll stick with the Japanese, thank you.
